The few spoilers I've read for All Rider it don't seem like they have too much to do with OOO's main plot.

PSP 7 is my main as well, but I have and use Gimp for some stuff. It's pretty nice and I'm sure it's a lot better if you get some of the plug-ins I don't have.

Helmet breakage is so amazing to me, when we get the chance to see it. I love really seeing the riders take damage like that, it just makes fight scenes so intense. And there's something about the shattered eye specifically that really gets to me.

When I hear a title like Let's Voltron I expect something more like an action anime theme, tbh.

There's something strange about the art style to me, and the way it's colored is definitely a part of that. It just looks so much like random internet fanart? But I actually really like some of the designs in spite of that.

My expectations for this are not high but it'll be fun to check out all the same.

I don't even mean the colors specifically as much as I do whatever the technique was they used to color it? Some shots look fine and then some of them look a bit like something colored on their computer for fun. Imagine it'll be fine in the show but I kind of like the way it feels sort of offkilter. Not the same thing at all but it kind of reminds me of stuff like Squigglevision, with the deliberately shaky lines. The clashing colors add to that feel too. I'm articulating myself really badly. ; ; Time to post something awesome~

I almost wonder if Trinity Form isn't just the second form of Agito and Storm and Flame only exist because of Shouichi's amnesia. Although, forgetting to press both buttons at once would be pretty hard thing to forget XD

Baashaa, Dogga, and Garulu feel somehow more individually complete, even though they are working from the same angle. Like the arms are added over a completer form, whereas Storm and Flame just feel incomplete, to me.

Yeah, I would've gone with the OOO symbol too. Aside from it being the more fitting symbol for the show, in my mind, I think it would've fit in better visually with everything else. But, it's still an awesome cover.

I'm at ep. 27 and I really hope Deneb keeps his watermelon helmet. So far I'm loving how they've handled the movie and tv show. Most of the time a movie for a show is a stand alone adventure with little impact or like most of the Dragonball movies completely out of continuity. Or they're a wrap up which ends the over-all story. But here they make it a part the the story without making seeing the movie necessary yet at the same time making you want to see the film.

iirc Tom stopped watching because he lost the episodes he'd downloaded and just was sort of frustrated about it. I get the same way, so I can relate.

Sometimes I wonder if they had the idea of having the Heisei era Kamen Rider worlds be a bit more connected, the way a lot of the Showa era series were. If that's the case, it's kind of funny that they wound up doing something so different right after, since Agito was a strong success critically and ratings wise (I have no idea how the toy sales were for the earlier Heisei shows).

Ryuki revolutionized Kamen Rider, and I'm glad that it did- we've seen so many great series and a lot of them owe a little something to the boundaries Ryuki broke- but it's interesting to think of what a more genuinely connected Heisei era Kamen Rider-verse would've been like. It would've made Decade pretty boring, I suppose. XD

Agito really does have a strong plot, largely because of how good the mysteries and how many intriguing points keep getting introduced. It's less character driven, but I still love Ozawa, Hikawa, and Gills, even if I wish he had way more storytime than he sometimes does. I wish I liked Shouichi more than I do, but I don't dislike him, I'm just not particularly invested in the character. Though I was realizing recently that he reminds me more of Eiji than Godai does. Anyways, the amnesia storylines certainly keep things with Shouichi interesting enough even if I find him to be bland sometimes.

I couldn't believe

they went back to him having amnesia. But, he might be faking that, because he's scared or traumatized or something.

Still, on the whole I do like Shouichi. I think Hikawa said it best: "It's strange, when you fall into his peculiar rhythm." The moments where they get in sync always see me with a huge smile plastered on my face. Same for those with him and Houjou, but that's almost for a different reason XD

It was kind of a WHAT? NOOOOOOO moment for me, because I felt like they introduced so many things and I was so disappointed thinking that things were going back to square one, but I feel like they handled things really well from that point on. The whole series really is spectacularly plotted.

Sometimes I feel like I like the way people talk about Shouichi more than I like Shouichi himself? But he really does bring out a lot of fun qualities in other characters, especially Houjou. I wish they'd had more screentime together because man, there is some interesting stuff there. I like the stuff between him and all of the members of the police force, really.

Whenever I see people eating fried meat in anything I think of Ozawa. And poor Omuro. XD

Lost all regular access to a computer for 2 weeks. Forgot where I was and didn't want to start the damn thing over. Went to a funny one instead. I'll probably start it up again someday. I do like the set up of man made suit with a whole team helping with the deployment and up keep, the fact that the guy had to call the trailer in and wait for it while at the same time keeping the monster form killing him and the victim is a cool idea for this type of show. Then there's the traditional magic suit guy plus an organic suit with working mouth parts that bites the monsters.

What's that?

It's a part of Win 7. It's like a media centre for all your music and film and pictures. You can access them all from one program without having to go to the actual folders. It's a nice idea but ... hairy balls. :laugh:

I was on the edge of my seat during this one. Kaoru, even though I don't know much about her since I've only seen 1 episode of Shinkenger, was nice, her swordplay is impressive. Finding out that Barizorg was actually Joe's mentor was a mindblow. Now I can finally see him as someone other than "that guy that says 'Yes, boss' all the time". The return of the Zyuranger suits was a much-welcomed addition, plus Dynaman and Gingaman were cool too.

Crowning moment of epicness: Captain Marvelous diving in to save Joe, then protecting him while shooting Walz Gil with the Gokai Gun.

I have decided I am going to start hiding a photograph of a trout in odd places in other people's homes and not tell them.

I am curious to see whether I will ever hear about it or they'll just go "wtf is this?" and just toss it.

Man, I should've read this before I pm'd you. Oh well.

That it felt rushed is probably what really felt off about the Hina thing to me. I liked what she was saying and I do feel like they've built up her really admiring Eiji a lot, so there was good stuff there. It just needed more time and could've been better than it was. Oh well. It wasn't bad, just not as good as I would've liked it to be, and I did like the episode itself.

That whole part of the opening credits had me so hyped, to be honest! Anything Goes is such a great song to advertise things to. XD

I feel like someplace between 15-20 is where most Kamen Rider series start getting REALLY awesome for me. Not that they're not great to start with, just that there's usually something there that kicks it up a notch. Maybe it's because I love so many secondary riders and that's often the point where they're introduced. XD

Dynaman is ridiculously awesome to me. I'm not even sure why.

I feel like they really stepped it up in terms of actually making it seem like something was at stake during the fights, and I liked that they lampshaded that a little with Marvelous acknowledging no one else had really put up a fight. If they keep it up with more intense fights, I'll be really pleased. I think the fight choreography for Gokaiger is so good and they could do some really powerful stuff if they worked on the story aspect.

The out of suit fighting was especially well done. I always love seeing the actors fight out of suit and I was really pleased with how much time they devoted to that.

As a big Shinkenger fan the Kaoru and Tanba stuff just felt kind of tacked on and not very important to the main story. Have you felt that way with some of the series you're more into, BNM?

I used to be crazy about Worms. I'd make teams themed around my favorite characters, like Batfamily teams or Aliens teams and then I'd be super bummed when my Newt got killed. XD When I was a teen I was super obsessed with the Holy Grail so I was obsessed with the Holy Hand Grenade too. Whenever I had no idea what to do on a turn, I threw a sheep. Friend of mine just said they wanted him to be a supervisor at a dept. store. I immediately thought of Capt. Peacock and told him to SUAVE IT UP.

Dynaman is ridiculously awesome to me. I'm not even sure why.

I feel like they really stepped it up in terms of actually making it seem like something was at stake during the fights, and I liked that they lampshaded that a little with Marvelous acknowledging no one else had really put up a fight. If they keep it up with more intense fights, I'll be really pleased. I think the fight choreography for Gokaiger is so good and they could do some really powerful stuff if they worked on the story aspect.

The out of suit fighting was especially well done. I always love seeing the actors fight out of suit and I was really pleased with how much time they devoted to that.

As a big Shinkenger fan the Kaoru and Tanba stuff just felt kind of tacked on and not very important to the main story. Have you felt that way with some of the series you're more into, BNM?

Also, have you been watching more 555?


I loved seeing the out of suit fighting in Gokaiger, they should do that more often. Out of suit fight are another reason I like Jetman a lot, there's a lot of that in it. As for your questions:

1. I felt that Magiranger, Gaoranger, and Gekiranger were handled perfectly, but Dekaranger and Shinkenger's appearances in Gokaiger were a little bit shoehorned. (Although the only Super Sentai teams that Gokaiger has mastered that I've watched are Magiranger, up to episode 13/14 I think, and Gaoranger episode 1)

2. 555

Wow, this just keeps getting better and better. I'm glad to see that Yuuji is not as bad as I thought he was, when he doesn't agree with Toda when Toda explains the Orphenoch goals. Speaking of which, interesting to finally understand how the Orphenoch system works. Fight scene was great, Faiz totally pwned Squid Orphenoch, and Yuka is pretty as usual :D

Alright, now I'm out of 555 episodes, since all I can find streaming is 1 through 5. Now to downlod DivX..... which I will try soon.

It's a solid idea! There's actually a lot of neat writing stuff on the commentary for Ghostbusters, since they put it together in such a short time period. Makes me sad knowing how few people love a good commentary track.

Mr. Plinkett said that when it comes to sci-fi & fantasy it's best to have a protagonist who's an everyman that goes on the basic hero's journey in 3 acts so the audience has some type of familiarity in a setting of robots and monsters and shit so he or she will ask the questions the viewer would ask and to help make the world feel new and wonderous.

He also said one of the huge problems with the new star wars is that they didn't have that so there was a ton of stuff not really delved into any detail and you just kinda had to take it as is.

Just because I am who I am, I'd grab that before the Mega Blade. Yeah, I know that seems counterintuitive quality wise. But it's about display with Kyouryuu.

Seems like it'd still be pretty great as a display toy! Just seems like it has a few issues play-wise. Still worthwhile to me under a certain price point, for sure. I'm more psyched about the Mega Blade, but I guess that fits with the divide and conquer strategy~

Only Showa Rider who genuinely interests me, here I come~

Like seriously, the Mook guy in OOO and his display. I don't want to say the Nazi influenced stuff is in bad taste. It's just weird to me? Starfish Hitler is lulstastic, but to have that consistently be there would be odd. I'm not even sure how many Showa series used them. Just the original and V3? I haven't the foggiest.

Shocker is *mostly* just an original Kamen Rider thing. The nazi stuff works better for me when Shocker as an organization isn't being played for comedy so much. I mean, they've always been pretty campy, but when there's a level of creepiness or realism on top of that camp I think it's pretty effective. Of course, there's loads and loads of stuff with Shocker I haven't seen.

I love Amazon (you know this!), but it's short and more episodic and just really different from the way Heisei stuff feels. Daisuke is adorable, though. Black is when Kamen Rider really started to feel more like what it is now. I'd love to see more V3. Just feel kind of guilty about pirating it since it was actually released here, but the box set is so expensive. ; ;

Pretty sure you can set up either one so that you can disc swap in pirated games pretty easily. I've been meaning to do this for a while, I want to try playing all the PS2 Kamen Rider games. I used to do that. :D I no longer have the materials but when I had I loved it. I found it relaxing.

If I didn't have to work at a job where I dispense medication, I would love to do an experiment where we stay up as long as we can and write about the weird stuff we think and hear and see. The way things go sort of crazy when you get really tired is fascinating to me.

I've never been good at stuff like that, but I've always wanted to paint miniatures. I think it'd be great experience for toy customizing as well.

A used one would be cheap. New they are still expensive over here. Can you hack the slims or would I need the fat one?
It's a LOAD easier to do it with a fat...

You'll also need either:
A) Thumbdrive compilable w/the PS2
or
B) An Action-Replay Max (comes with a thumbdrive that's PS2 compilable)

Never mind a PS2 memory card w/some free space.



It's a software mod, but it's not all that hard to do if you've got the right guide.

Then again, you could always toss around 40/50USD on a PS2 memory card that can look up to your PC to make it even EASIER.

I'm willing to stay up as long as I can for this project.

The car's pretty much dead so I'll only be able to get a ride to the culture fest but on someone else's time table. The other places are too far away to walk and I can't bike all that far yet plus I'd be too exhausted going from place to place to actually do anything.

And that everything else was super expensive. And that you have to keep buying the books to keep up with the rules. And that the rules often made your current guys useless and you needed to buy new ones.

Well, there's not too much in my actual town! I have to go about 45 minutes for this stuff and for free comics day. It's why I usually just get new comics via subscription. It's too much to go pick up a pull list every week.

I do have a game store in my town, it's where I go for booster drafts. They occasionally have other events too. There's some Heroclix thing coming up I might go to just because I've always liked the figures but don't know anything about the game, and they've advertised at a way for new people to learn how to play.

I know this wasn't directed at me, but my interest in miniatures is primarily because I think pen and paper rpgs are more fun when you have something small to represent your characters or baddies. In the past my friends and I have had fun with this because we'd pretend a skeleton miniature was a catgirl or something like that. We didn't have many options~

There are a lot of people at my game store who are super into miniatures, and they regularly hold miniature painting contests, but tbh the closest I've really come to playing stuff like that is playing Weapons and Warriors back in the day.

Oh, for those types of games. I guess skele-neko-chan would be a pretty fun character.

I used to play every Saturday morning for about 3 years. We were always hung over and played long into the afternoon. Always used to get bombed and the rule book was tosssed out the window. I always made sure to pick topics related to sexuality, in all my classes, so the professor and I could feel superior to all the christians who were around. You would not believe how many of them were in Human Sexuality. This girl and I were the only ones who were willing to talk to him about stuff that he didn't bring up himself. It was fantastic.

Sort of like STS, just in academia.

Kudos for that. I treat kids like little adults. If they ask a question I tell them the truth. They respond well to that.
My friends' kids tell me stuff that they are afraid to to tell their parents. It helps them work through things.

Most adults these days have forgotten what it was like to be that age.

I definitely feel like I have a lot more leeway to be honest with students than actual teachers.

I had someone I could ask the awkward questions of when I was young so it feels good to have become that person.

Akira has got a quality high def remaster. I've not seen the disc yet but judging by the screen shots it looks amazing.
