she loves next gen and voyager and ds9 (to a lesser extent). i've been bugging her to watch TOS for ages and i'd given up but then recently she suggested watching them. we're gonna do TOS then the animated series.

I don't know how you felt about it (obviously), but I freaking LOVED it. It did feel a bit slapdash and sudden, but they did EVERYTHING I wanted them to. Which is crazy, because I wanted a lot of things.

Bookending Date's awesomeness from all the stuff he said when he first arrived. CHECK. I knew it was for his surgery, and facepalmed like mad at Eiji and Gotou flailing around like idiots with it, last episode.

Double cross. CHECK. More like quadruple cross!

Date and Gotou playing off each others strengths and weaknesses. CHECK.

Believable Date death. CHECK.

Gotou being convincing as Birth. CHECK. How the hell did they do this? They threaded the eye of the needle. Fixed his hair, made him pissy, "Date-san, Fight with me."

Date lives! CHECK. CHECK. OH GOD YES, CHECK.

It all happened so fast, but they did it ;; They did it all. Pretty sure fan reaction made them rewrite it that way, but I don't care, because I got everything I wanted.

No no, I agree, it was a good one! And it was really pretty representative of OOO as a whole. That sort of over the top, breakneck pace feel, the unpredictability. And the elements of that that work for the show really came together, mostly because it had so much good character stuff too.

Even though in many respects, this was a pretty fitting ending to Date's story, I hope we get to see him as a rider again, even if it's not until the very end. I can accept Brotou as Birth, largely because they handled it pretty well, but Date is just...Date. God Tier character.

Also I would watch a show that was just Date and Cakeboss playing off each other. COMEDY GOLD.

Yep. Not trying to be disrespectful to Accel, but W seems like it could stay, too.

Accel is great, but I think that's fair. The series is so much about the two and one riders, and ultimately, Terui is a side character. Think we're talked about this before, but that's probably why I just wasn't that enthused with him when I first watched the show. He does get some great moments and it was easy to appreciate him upon a second watch, but W honestly probably could've worked as a one rider series (unless you count Skull).

Yup. The worst thing for me is when news shows have celebrities on like they're some kind of political expert. MATT DAMON I DO NOT CARE WHAT YOUR OPINIONS ARE ON THE ADMINISTRATION (I still like you though). I know standards for pundits aren't particularly high in the first place, but I just hate the way someone is treated as though they're politically knowledgeable just by virtue of being famous.

I also really dislike when celebrities find awkward ways to talk about politics. I saw an interview on Craig Ferguson with some comedian whose name I do not remember, and he just would not shut up about his political opinions. And Craig made many valiant attempts to steer the conversation but he was just going on and on and wouldn't stop. Circus conditions are still pretty poor, but most zoos do a lot to make the animals comfortable these days. No animals in small, cramped cages like when we were kids. Most zoos I've been to actually have pretty amazing spaces for them.

I think She Wolf has a few great songs, the rest of the album seems like fillers to me. The the newest album is great. I also wish I could have seen her in concert.

yeah i changed my mind and we're going in production order. originally we were going in airdate order because that's how they are on the dvds, so i figured it made sense.

but airdate order itself makes little sense. lots of tiny little continuity errors pop up (nothing major). even though the original series itself was designed to be broadcast in pretty much any order.

i decided on production order because it's the same order in the star trek chronology

1. THINKING OF YOU / Edgar Broughton Band
I quite like this song. I haven’t searched for anymore yet but intend to when I remember. Remind me or suggest something.
It sounds like it might be a protest song or something...Working Class Hero. I will fap.

2. THAT TIME / Regina Spektor
I’ve never really heard her. Heard lots about her though. It was all right. Sounds really ‘90s-ish. The Breeders or Pixies type of composition going rapidly up and down the neck like that.

3. BAD DAY / R.E.M.
I like this song. I always wanted to like it more though. It’s got everything in it to be a great R.E.M. song…..just something’s missing and I can’t quite place it.

4. JAQUELINE / Franz Ferdinand
This is turning into Doc’s “POP goes the DOC” album.
Never really listened to these guys either. It’s all right too. I wouldn't mind exploring them a little more.
It didn’t occur to me until about 2:30 into the song….it sounds exactly like really old Chili Peppers only less funky.

5. 2ND MOVEMENT / Diabolical Masquerade
There goes the “pop” element of the comp out the door. Back to the broody.
It sounds like backwards Slayer. I like it.

6. SILENT SCREAM / Children Of Bodom
Roar. “Pop” is definitely gone. I like this too. Need the "roar" every now and then.

7. ASHAMED OF MY CUM / Pissed Jeans
So this is where Kurt Cobain’s been hiding. I like this...very Bleach. The title and band name made me choke on my milk....and then fap.

8. DESERT SONG – Audrey Horne
I heard of these guys before. I always remembered the band name for some reason. I liked this. Will seek out more when I remember. “POP goes the DOC” is back.

9. ALL THE HEROES RUN IN ARMOR / Suck On My Fat Titties
You all ready know how much I enjoyed this song. Cat Anus is here to stay.

10. QUEEN & THE SOLDIER / Suzanne Vega
I was taken back a little when I saw her name on this comp. It was the first one that caught my eye. I don’t really know anything about her other than that HUGE song she had in the late ’80’s early 90’s….it went “Da-da-da-da…da-da-da-da….da-da-da-da.
I like this enough though. It reminds me The Cranberries without the mildy annoying voice. Where's a good place to start with her? She strikes me as very interesting.

This is the Overkill that I like. Stripped down and simple instrumentation & production and HARD……like wolf cock.

Why didn’t I know about this when I was in highschool? It makes me think of Ministry’s Grace only without all the distortion. I could listen to this for another 4 minutes and not get bored.

Have I mentioned how this is my favorite volume of your 10 Song submissions so far?
This reminds me Thomas Newman’s Carousel theme from The Lost Boys and Pink Floyd’s The Trial mixed with a little System Of A Down.

5. SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGEANCE / Mo Ho Baroque Ensemble
I like to imagine myself fapping to this while I cry.

This surprised me actually. I didn’t think you would like something like this.

I don’t know why but this disturbs me immensely. It almost makes me sick….seriously. I get queezy. I think it’s the tone of the strings and Jarboe’s quivering voice. They get right inside my head and make me dizzy. A really strange effect.
I love it.

VOLUME III is by far my favorite so far. 5 out of 5. :D

hahaha, everytime i read his name, i don't think highlander, i think Mortal Kombat and The Hunted.
I wish there was a complete soundtrack to The Hunted, the music on the train sequence is phenomenal!
