sometimes no matter how hard i try i simply can't get my suites short enough. my dances with wolves suite was an epic 19+ minutes, which isn't really that much considering it was picked and edited from over an hour of score. but chopping off to make it fit really hurt

Sometimes I just give up on them.

I put a good 3 days into Spidey 3 and never came up with anything unique or different about it so I gave up.

I need to go back to that one.....I don't know what I'm missing or putting too much of.

It screams SUITE so why can't I do it?

I did a Battle LA last night, which I think I'll upload to youtube first as soon as my next Suite's compilation is closer to being done.

I used to buy art books like that before the internet made such things free. I have a load of Vallejo, Giger, Larry Elmore etc.

There are still some art books I'd really like to have. Mostly, they're ones that just don't contain pictures and have a little something extra. They tend to be insanely expensive though, especially now. The only cheaper ones I want are the behind the scenes movie/cartoons/anime books. Really hope I find a good deal on this one someday:

Yes...I found that was released on the vinyl and cassette versions of P.U.L.S.E. so I tracked it down last night along with a 22 minute track of the soundscape they used before their shows on The Division Bell tour that was only released on the cassette version.

It's on a 17 disc collection of Floyd rarities spanning their entire career.

Haven't had the chance to listen to any of it yet....but am pretty stoked to have it all.

The door to my building auto-locks, but the door to my apartment has a separate turn lock. It was locked earlier, but I hadn't locked it again after the mail man had come.

I think the people across the hall are watching him and he didn't know this wasn't their apartment. Or he thought the whole building was their house. He was only 7 or 8, maybe, but I was just panicked because I had no idea what to do till someone came.

It bugged the hell out of the girl my buddy and I were living with at the time. So we took the cover apart and just had the light and put it in so many different places where she wouldn't expect to find it. He played a big part in the ambience of the last 2 albums.

This is most effective with surround sound.

I remember it being played before the show now.

All this time I thought it was Granchester Meadows or Cirrus Minor bouncing back and forth around the stadium....when infact it was a portion of this soundscape.

Beltrami borrowed a lot of his production and instrumental techniques on 3:10 & The Three Burials to incredibly great effect.

3:10 probably won't out date itself, however Three Burials probably will because of some heavy synth.

Is your place a conversion of some sort? I lived in a place that was split into 2 from one bigger place. Made some weird quirks.

I had a good time when I figured out the intercom is connected to every apartment.

When I first moved in, when I heard it buzz from a different apartment I'd pick it up from my side and fuck around with them with silly voices.

Is your place a conversion of some sort? I lived in a place that was split into 2 from one bigger place. Made some weird quirks.

Yup, pretty much all the apartments out here are converted from old houses or factories. There's a main entrance that automatically locks behind you, and then your own individual front and back entrances. Four apartments in each building. The other times it happened (in different apartments), it was a drunk person who stepped outside for whatever reason, then walked back in the wrong apartment. Really weird but nothing bad, just told them it was the wrong apartment. This was a little weirder because the kid wouldn't leave or even acknowledge me and I just had no idea what to do. He was just a little kid though, and he seemed like he might have been disabled/had developmental issues. I don't think he had any idea he was in the wrong place, he just wanted to read a book. :laugh: If it had been less awkward I would've been happy to let him take something, my across the hall neighbors are really nice.
