I think I'm too emotionally involved with all this DC relaunch stuff. Bunch of new Bat books were announced today and the fate of Tim Drake is still up in the air and I just want to know he's still going to have a comic. ; ; Really hoping they'll keep him as an independent hero but give him a better name than Red Robin. I am legitimately stressed about this, and that's pretty silly, since I'll still have way too many comics to read each month regardless.

At least Grant Morrison is still going to be writing Batman Inc and a new Batman story. Looks like the rumors about him writing Superman are true too.

The extended cut I mentioned doesn't have the dog-alien. It comes out of a different animal. Won't say what it is. Much more menacing.

it's interesting how the aliens in resurrection and the AvP films were closer to the quadrepedal dog-alien from 3, while the aliens in the 1st 2 films were more bipedal.

i always thought the 1st movie had the creepiest alien. his translucent head wigged me out and the way he stood up all tall made him look almost...human. of course the face huggers also scare the bejesus outta me. i think i'd rather take my chances in a fight with a full grown alien than one of them.

Apparently the sequel to last year's grossout masterpiece The Human Centipede (First Sequence), called Human Centipede 2 (The Full Sequence), is so chock full of shock that the British ratings board has declared it a "risk" to viewers. The group's statement about the movie is not only sort of hilarious, but it also gives us the first look at the plot to freakazoid director Tom Six's latest satirical assault on our senses.

Over at Bloody Disgusting, you can find the full statement from the British Film Board of Classification:

The first film dealt with a mad doctor who sews together three kidnapped people in order to produce the ‘human centipede'of the title. Although the concept of the film was undoubtedly tasteless and disgusting it was a relatively traditional and conventional horror film and the Board concluded that it was not in breach of our Guidelines at ‘18'. This new work, THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE II (FULL SEQUENCE), tells the story of a man who becomes sexually obsessed with a DVD recording of the first film and who imagines putting the ‘centipede' idea into practice. Unlike the first film, the sequel presents graphic images of sexual violence, forced defecation, and mutilation, and the viewer is invited to witness events from the perspective of the protagonist. Whereas in the first film the ‘centipede' idea is presented as a revolting medical experiment, with the focus on whether the victims will be able to escape, this sequel presents the ‘centipede' idea as the object of the protagonist's depraved sexual fantasy.

The principal focus of THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE II (FULL SEQUENCE) is the sexual arousal of the central character at both the idea and the spectacle of the total degradation, humiliation, mutilation, torture, and murder of his naked victims. Examples of this include a scene early in the film in which he masturbates whilst he watches a DVD of the original Human Centipede film, with sandpaper wrapped around his penis, and a sequence later in the film in which he becomes aroused at the sight of the members of the ‘centipede' being forced to defecate into one another's mouths, culminating in sight of the man wrapping barbed wire around his penis and raping the woman at the rear of the ‘centipede'. There is little attempt to portray any of the victims in the film as anything other than objects to be brutalised, degraded and mutilated for the amusement and arousal of the central character, as well as for the pleasure of the audience. There is a strong focus throughout on the link between sexual arousal and sexual violence and a clear association between pain, perversity and sexual pleasure. It is the Board's conclusion that the explicit presentation of the central character's obsessive sexually violent fantasies is in breach of its Classification Guidelines and poses a real, as opposed to a fanciful, risk that harm is likely to be caused to potential viewers.

David Cooke, Director of the BBFC added:

HD Silent Hill Collection is going to fuggen rock. Wish it included EVERYTHING. If the Japanese version has more games in it (like with FF Anthology) I'll definitely import it. I know those games by heart, can totally play them in the original japanese.

I honestly didn't realize how much I relied on comics as a source of emotional support before all this DC change-up stuff. I was reading some of the new stuff posted by DC about the changes with the Young Justice crew and I legitimately started bawling. Feel like I've lost a friend. I know this might not be permanent, and I know with the team of writers and artists on board there'll still be good stories, but it's still hard for me. It's lame, but things have been so crappy for me these last two months, and the static nature of comics was sort of something I could count on. I feel like I have such a strong understanding of most DC characters, and having everything change on me just feels like too much right now. ; ; Reading comics is a huge form of escapism for me, and I don't want to lose that.

I'll get used to it, just needed to vent all this somewhere.

Human Centipede 2 doesn't sound like something I particularly want to watch, but it doesn't detract from my love of the original. Even if XIII-2 sucks it's not going to destroy the original, for me, either.

There's some stuff in the end that isn't exactly made crystal clear, but the room is there for interpretation and I can interpret it in the way that best suits me and my tastes. Part of this room might exist because of the gap between what is said and what is translated, but that's fine too.

I choose to believe Kitaoka really did want to finish things with Asakura, but died before he could. Gorou went in his place. I don't want to believe that Kitaoka would agree to that, because based on everything on the show to that point he wouldn't have ever agreed to it. Gorou can fight pushy thugs hired by clients and coporations, but I don't think Kitaoka would ever let him get involved in Rider affairs.

In terms of Magnugiga agreeing to cooperate with Gorou (and him not trying to eat Kitaoka for forfeiting in Ep. Final).....well, I choose to believe that he's either a very complacent monster because he's a robot, or Kitaoka fed him a trillion times more than any other rider fed theirs. Makes sense, given that ludicrous final vent.

I've been wasting too much emotional energy on giving too much of a shit about what goes on in OOO. It doesn't really matter. There's stuff that I love and nothing changes that. For the most part, looking back on what we have it feels like a really inconsistent journey. There are super high highs and super low lows. More of the latter, but why should I give so much of a shit. It's a show, with a few good characters and a few good toys. It doesn't take away from the insane highs of the rest of the Heisei era.

Take the good you find, and keep it. Leave out all the rest.

Mostly I'm just annoyed that Noel seems to be a complete Snow replacement. Some kind of relationship with Serah, has COM, RAV, AND SEN as roles and all that. I know Snow wasn't the most popular of characters, but I think he's a well written one, and I hope my concerns about him being done away with are pre-mature. We've still seen very little from the game, so it's very likely I'm jumping the gun here. Plenty of other games I want to play so it's not a big deal. Just sort of been watching the videos and wtp-ing to myself. ;)

This is basically how I operate too. If I can come up with an explanation for things that feel off to me that works, then I'm really okay with stuff. I actually really enjoy the process of trying to rationalize character's actions and figuring out their motivations.

My thoughts are pretty close to yours re: that particular Ryuki stuff. There's actually some really nice stuff Yasuko Kobayashi talked about in an interview too, I believe, I'll have to see if I can find it. I know she talked about how she went about creating Ren too, and that's really fun for me to read since he's such a great character.

Kamen Rider has a pretty incredible hit rate, as far as franchises go, and it's easy to forgive misses when you look at it as a whole. Date alone is enough to make me love OOO even though there's a lot of wasted potential in the series. Hope the series gets a genuinely great movie somewhere down the road.

I don't think squeenix would throw Snow under the bus no matter how much American fans disliked him. I'm sure there's a decent enough reason he isn't around for the events they've shown of XIII-2. I would definitely (infinitely) prefer using a party that had Serah and Snow, but if he isn't a focal point of 2, then he isn't.

If anything he might be the Fang replacement. If he's at the beginning of the game he'd definitely need to be a RAV and not a SAB.

My brother draws my ideas for me every once in a while and it makes me really happy too. ^^ It absolutely makes it feel more real. Wish I could do a comic with him or something but he has his own projects these days.

People really seem to hate Snow and especially Hope. The Hope hate seems oddly misplaced since most of it seems to criticize him for behavior that stops really early on in the game. I've gotten the impression that a good chunk of the really vocal XIII haters didn't play that far into the game, so I guess that makes sense. Kinda glad they bitched so much about stuff because it made for lots of pleasant surprises when I got to play the game myself. :)

Went exploring in a cemetery today. There's this little nature trail in the back of it, and I went to see what was there and realized that there's a tiny hidden section of graves about halfway down. Behind it there's a hill so steep it's basically a cliff, and there's no easy way to actually get down and close to the graves. Most of the dates were really old, and I thought the little forgotten graves were both really sad and really interesting. One of them said the person died in Paris.

Was thinking about taking my camera out there one day soon, is that the sort of thing people here are interested in? Or am I the only one with a creepy fascination with cemeteries? I attempted exploring an abandoned school too, but there was no way in I could find without trying to climb through a window. Maybe I'll be more adventurous another time.

I'm very interested. I don't got none places like that to take photos of so I fully encourage you to do so.

A few tips first.
1. try to go back several times at various points in the day. I've had a bunch of real nice shots killed by not having enough light or it being high noon and everything gets washed out.

2. Once you get there take time to get what you think will be great shots, or just take a bunch of random snapshots and hope a handful are ok.

3. If it's hard to get to prepare yourself by wearing adventure shoes and if it's not too hot strong pants like jeans. also if you have a backpack or bag for your camera use that because if you just put it in your pants you could crush it and just holding onto it is retarded.

4. Any wild life you find is a bonus.

5. Please don't die in a cemetery you'll blow out my emotion chip with confusion.

Supposedly Lucas' film Redtails Red Tails (2011) - IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0485985/) is coming out at some point. It's a WWII movie about the Tuskegee Airmen. I'm cautiously optimistic in that it's has nothing to do with star wars and he's only written the story and producing while others are directing and writing the script.[COLOR="Silver"]

i love exploring as well. there's a lot of old cemetaries in the central virginia area with their own little forgotten corners.

When I was younger we used to have this old school and old hotel we would explore for fun.

The school was way out in the middle of the farmlands and pretty much forgotten since the war, when there were a lot of bases around this area. It was very eerie. Not very big. 4 rooms and a gym. In the middle of the gym someone had constructed a dummy and hung it by it's neck in the very center. From outside and the right angle in the sun, it looked so very, very creepy.

The hotel wasn't very old, when it was shut down. I guess it was built in the 60, possibly 50's. That was fecking creepy. The ballroom/bar was the best. Before it shut down the ball room/bar was turned into a stripclub. :laugh:

There's some haunting places around here I could photograph (no spooky cemeteries though). A lot of them are pretty seedy though. The forgotten areas, I guess you could call them.

I stayed in some closed down mental hospital grounds in Abbotsford too, while going through rehab and detox. That was creepy as well.

They had tunnels and shit beneath, so the general public didn't see some of the 'deformed' patients being shipped in and out. There were rooms with tables for electroshock therapy sessions took place. And out in one of the fields, there was a small cemetery. One thing stuck in my mind about that. 4 gravestones in a row all had the same death date. :shock:

A wonderful place to rehabilitate.

I should see if it's still around.

Session 9 really feels like a quintessential Silent Hill(esque) movie to me. It's got a slow build and it rests itself on characters they don't flesh out completely. Plus the atmosphere is spot on and I could screencap for ages. It's the basis for several things in 3, so yeah, almost as important to the series as Jacob's Ladder.

Also has stuff that is REALLY obvious on a second viewing. Like in how in Silent Hill 2

you can really clearly hear Mary say 'James, Why did you kill me?' when you get the radio.

If you know it's there, it's so obvious.

Very atmospheric and creepsome.

Started walking out to the cemetery and I got stormed on. It was amusingly sudden. Like I was being followed around by a raincloud cartoon style. I actually would've loved to get some pics in the rain, but it was pouring, so I'll have to leave the adventuring for tomorrow. Hopefully it'll be cooler because of it! Might even take video too, everything is seriously so neat.

Until I got onto 3, I hadn't played a SH since my marathon, last Halloween. It was an interesting experience and in some ways I'm glad I did it. In others....never again. Definitely needs to be spread out and I need to take my time.

that place is beautiful. creepy though. hate to spend a night there alone. reminds me of an old mental hospital in staunton, va which has since been converted into condos. wish i could find some pics. virginia mountain towns are full of strange and wonderful old buildings like that.

I never did get to play the first one, on account that I've never had a good enough computer to play games worth playing. :sad:

When I was younger we used to have this old school and old hotel we would explore for fun.

The school was way out in the middle of the farmlands and pretty much forgotten since the war, when there were a lot of bases around this area. It was very eerie. Not very big. 4 rooms and a gym. In the middle of the gym someone had constructed a dummy and hung it by it's neck in the very center. From outside and the right angle in the sun, it looked so very, very creepy.

The hotel wasn't very old, when it was shut down. I guess it was built in the 60, possibly 50's. That was fecking creepy. The ballroom/bar was the best. Before it shut down the ball room/bar was turned into a stripclub. :laugh:

There's some haunting places around here I could photograph (no spooky cemeteries though). A lot of them are pretty seedy though. The forgotten areas, I guess you could call them.

It would be like Pokemon Snap and Silent Hill with a little Streets of Rage thrown in I guess.

What happened?

i was driving and was approaching an intersection (i totally had the right of way). i went through and just as i went, a car in the perpendicular street made a right turn. i thought nothing of this because hey, he had space and it was a two lane road. but this is miami where no one knows how to drive, so even though he could clearly see me coming, he decided to turn not into the appropriate lane closest to the sidewalk, but into MY lane. i had to swerve into the other side of the street (the side of oncoming traffic) to miss and thank god there was no one there or i would have crashed. i slammed on the brakes and my car started to skid since my tires are losing tread (i need to buy new ones). i started sliding back all the way to the right and almost hit another car, but i managed to sort of gain control and stay in my lane. it was so scary. it seriously was a miracle that i didn't hit anyone. i was so fucking mad and still am now. i hope that guy or woman shit their pants and learned their lesson. i was tempted to go back and fucking yell at them, but i just wanted to get where i needed to go, and they were driving like 2 miles an hour.

I don't know what it is about people and driving. When they're behind the wheel, if the make a mistake, suddenly they don't have to stop or apologize. You just keep going like nothing happened. Chicken shits.
