I really liked Life Aquatic a lot. I'm pretty fond of Wes Anderson movies in general. This one's got some especially neat visuals imo.

so neg told me about the road movie soundtrack challenge, and i thought it was a neat creative exercise, so here's mine (it's my first one ever so i'm kinda proud of it):



skeleton plot: A teenager named Pete finds out he has cancer or something else that's fatal and finds out he will die soon. After the initial depression, he decides to go on a road trip with his girlfriend Sarah and his best friend Jason to the Grand Canyon, since he's always wanted to see it. Along the way, he succumbs to his disease before they make it to the canyon. At the end of the movie, Sarah and Jason make the trip again and spread his ashes into the canyon.

How it relates: i chose the song because i figured it was pretty good to show his initial despair at finding out he had cancer or w/e, since that would happen early in the movie. also, he's a teenager, so he's lazy

How it relates: i picked it because it shows how he goes and thinks positive and stuff after he gets the news (after the initial sadness)

i'm just amazed at how (despite all our broad and varying tastes) i keep seeing little intersections/coincidences in certain selections. looking back through the 10 songs blog post and i see where cuckoo used ennio's "falls" on 2 mins or less...eerie that i nearly chose that one for the same volume. ndi has used a lot of tracks i almost used and aden mentioned something about max payne 2 music on his soundtrack mix. it will be super eerie if he used "mona the professional" since i am strongly considering it for my soundtrack as well

Once you figure YouTube playlists out, you should totally do more, Rob! Even when you're not plotting a specific story, mixes have their own little plots. Almost every 10 Songs I've done* has a storyline, even if that story only makes sense in my head. Think you might get really into it.

It is a fake composer on my mix as it is.

I used 4 different scores to assemble it. All different composers. It was tricky to find a similar sound for all of them to sound like it was all the same score.

Yup, I would've just been cutting dead air too. I actually might go back and do that, the only thing that really bugs me on mine is the gap after Spider.

I'm really pleased with how that one turned out though. It just came together right and didn't take much time at all. Really satisfying. It made me wonder if 6 minutes or longer would be the worst thing ever, if we did it.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Imbeciles!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now.........

Well...to tell you the truth one year ago I did wrestle. in a ring. in a match. twas a favor done by a friend, who's involved in a small regional promotion. there weren't much people in the room, it was not recorded, but I got the occasion to do it all. chokeslams, backbreakers, sidewalk slams, lariats and shoulder blocks. Funny thing is that I'm not that tall. a little under 1.80 meter. I was even given a finisher. a Fallaway slam. of course, the babyface wasn't a big wrestler. I think the guy was around 70 kg, built more or less like Evan bourne. with less roids. It was his 70kgs and abilities against my 120 kgs of brutality.

I still lost. I was the jobber, of course. was billed as "Kraven, the enforcer". kayfabe worked for the local big heel. only moves I couldn't do were powerbombs and piledrivers, for obvious security reasons, as these, wrongly done, can be very, very dangerous.

that evening I was heaven.

the next morning I was in fucking pain. it may be "fake", but trust me, all these falls and bumps take their toll. I swore I'd never get on a ring again. it was fun but it is definitely not something I'd do. but i've grown even more respect for these guys, and I understand why they take soooooo many painkillers.

Same. Almost everything I do have was sent to me recently. It'd be fun to have a big collection of childhood pictures or something but I've never been very fond of having my photo taken. Mostly though, pictures exist but it's not worth the effort to get them.

How so ? I never said i was particulary tall nor muscled, nor badass looking.
