I'd like to give them a try, but for some reason I've been hungry for portable gaming. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with options. lol. My other motivation behind a 3DS is because of New Super Mario Bros. 2 next month. I've been holding off playing MGS 2 and 3 for a long time, since I've already beat 1, 4 and peace walker, I obviously love the Uncharted series, so Golden Abyss is an option. When I played and finished Zelda 3D last year, I fell in love with that game all over again. :/

Yup, I definitely get like that sometimes, where handheld stuff is all I want to play. I might get a 3DS at the end of the year, or I might just buy the game I want it for and wait till gen 6 of Pokemon to get one. I'm undecided.

The 3DS XL is coming out really soon, right? Seems like it might be worth holding off a little bit to see if there's a price drop on the smaller ones.

It's pathetic, I have PSone classics on my PS3, but I want to play them on my PS Vita and support for those games wont happen until the end of the summer.

I don't know how I feel about the 3DS XL yet. It's $30 more, no AC adaptor, no cradle. Although I hear it's supposed to smooth out the graphics, since it's on a larger screen, I still find the current model more attractive.... and I have an options of black or purple!

Yup, same. Two games I want to platinum and I haven't been playing them at all. Gaming is rough when you're busy because it's hard to play most games if you can't sit down with them for a while. Even handhelds are kind of a pain if you have to keep stopping. I've been reading a crazyton since my Kindle is the easiest to take in the car.

Mysterious cities of gold was a pretty good show, at least to me for three reason.

reason one: it was exotic, and for the first time in something written fro french kids by a french guy, people died. there was that "grim reality" factor that was already common in anime but new for us.
reason 2: Mendoza is an awesome, complex, mysterious character. 26 years after first watching it, I'm still wondering if he's a good guy or just a guy who wants some gold.
reason 3: it got me hooked on precolombian history. one of the big plus is that it was a remarkable vulgarisation tool for precolombian history, plus with the mini documentaries at the end of each eps. we were lucky around here to get a few different DVD editions, the latest being the best, including a book on precolumbian civilization, one on the series itself, the original Scott O'Dell novel ("the king's fifth", which title is based on a spanish law that said that one fifth of anything worthy found in america had to be offered to the king of Spain).

reason 4, acquired around 2003: I can find ten reason why MCOG can be used as background material for the Shadowrun RPG. if you have a crazy gamemaster on hand, of course. but yeah, it was damn good. maybe it's nostalgy at work, maybe not. all I can say is that I have the series on VHS. on DVD. and again on another set of DVDs.

I'm not willing to do that even for most japanese stuff (except possibly for Evangelion and Nadia).

had an awesome week watching terrible movies. Starship troopers 3. Conan (2011). Prince of Persia. Only highlight (:rolleyes:) was Fast five.

New Conan wasn't "bad" but it was kinda flat and generic. Why start from the beginning again and not just pick a quest or something?

It was terrible. not only the story is shitty at best, but the acting is terrible, half of the villain nearly kill themselves through sheer stupidity, Rose Mc Gowan was a more dangerous witch in Charmed, and the fight scenes are just beyond ridiculous. I mean, when he hasn't the full mask, Khalar is a tremendous fighter, and after he has it, he gets killed easier than a blond bimbo in any slasher movie...

That looks really, really nice. I'm not sure if I have XI still or not. I probably do but I can't check. I don't have XII and I don't think I have Origins either. Wish they'd make the real boxes something simple like that. I guess XIII was pretty simple, but some other countries got much nicer boxes.

Infinite isn't quite III. I used to be favorable to 2, and hated that they weren't finishing the storyline, but if you think about it as Levine abandoned that sinking ship, and 2 doesn't exist, then Infinite is just another Bioshock game from the original DOOD.

It's nearly always in the 2nd hand bin. Around �7. �10 for the 2nd one. I did try and overcome my FPS hatred a while back with... I forget it's name. You have it. You start in an underground complex. As a baby. Etc. What's it called?

Fallout?

Fallout is very different from Bioshock. Fallout has a very strong RPG element to it, and I find the value comes in playing to the whims of your morality, from encounter to encounter.

Bioshock is more action game oriented with fixed upgrade lines for weapons and plasmids. It's far more linear. It's very much like a survival-horror game in a beautifully rendered dilapidated environment.

I loved Bioshock right off the bat. It took me a while to warm to Fallout. Or, Oblivion with guns, as docrate would probably call it XD

That's it. Fallout 2. PS3 GOTY edition. I gave it away. :laugh:

I have no idea about the differences, from an uneducated POV I just see the obvious similarity: FPS. It's partly the first person perspective I dislike. And partly that I don't want to be the protagonist. I don't want to just see my hand and a gun. I want a character I can see, someone to invest in, with failings and strengths that I can either empathise or sympathise with.

It's Fallout 3. 2 is one of the ones on PC. docrate is your go to guy for that.

I'm usually the guy who loves over-saturated colors and....pink ^_^ I'm just cool with the color palette because it fits the material. It has its purpose. Feels like we're ganging up on you, but you like what you like, and we all ultimately respect that.

Yes I can. I just ignore Fallout 3 and new vegas. Haven't played them, no intention to do, and won't play them. I'm waiting for the remake of Wasteland and for that new, improved version of Baldur's gate.

Heck, I still think I could live with ONLY baldur's gate 2 and fallout 2 (and the editing tools to create my own add ons) and never be bored.

All my other friends were talking about The Raid.
Me and my friends all saw the original Dredd movie and decided to opt out on any news until a trailer came out.
Of which there was none by the time The Raid was out in theaters, friends telling me what they thought when they watched and how they thought the soundtrack was after buying it.

That's the Dredd whose comics I found in my first garage sales around 12/13 years ago. Published in France by Lug, often in big, 200 pages volumes. and with other stories from 2000AD, like Strontium Dog or ABC warriors...Funny thing is that I had no problem getting comics, even as a kid, as even if my mother doesn't like comix (save for Asterix and Gaston), she always thought Judge Dredd and X-men to be good stuff.
