In fact I didn't want to use english because I really wanted to make an "english" free mix. one option was "Inama Nushif", the song in fremen from "children of dune", another was gangnam style, a third was raiding my mothers cd cabinet and pick a random Oum Khaltoum track. but I can't stand the stuff so that would have been cheating. That or seeing if I still had the lyrics I had written for a song in dwarvish about beer, beards and battle axes.

Sadly I don't have them anymore, lost in a PC crash. I'll rewrite them someday, and sing them on the tune of "we will rock you". that or a song in black speech about cooking hobbits. And I mean about cooking hobbits as a dish, not the fuckers going all chief like in a hobbit sized kitchen.

I "make wallpapers" by taking screencaps from movies/shows or comic scans and resizing them. I generally prefer my wallpapers to be simple so just the image itself is fine. I have a rotating wallpaper folder that I stick everything in. Fun to look at my desktop and see what's popped up.

yeah. ennio morricone's music generally lends itself well to remixes. i only wish there were more good remixes out there of other composers. i'd love to see a john barry remix album in the same vein as the ennio remix compilations. if i had more of him on vinyl and some mixing gear, i would totally do it myself.

I don't think I have had a duplicate with someone since round one but I definitely have drawn from the same sources (example: Docrate and I both had a track from The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises respectively as our first tracks on Volume 22 and we literally posted ours within a few minutes of each other).

I did a little bit of tinkering on some of mine. Especially the "Pumped Up" volume.

Loops and bits here & there. Mostly done to shorten tracks and do a unnoticeable fade out.

Had to do some work on the remixes because a lot of them blend right into the next track on the original album so instead of abrupt endings, I let the ending stop and then hit the reverb heavily so it sounds like a natural ending.

Hopefully they were all done well enough so no one noticed. :erm:

It did get huge ratings. WWE doesn't have the ratings it had around 1998-2002, when they had sometimes ratings up to 10. Today smackdown gets a 1.89 rating (that's the one for 09/04/2012), on Syfy. Wacht am rhein/Marseilleise is from Casablanca. It's a great scene that really gets the blood going. Most of the actors are crying by the end which was not planned, but completely reasonable given they were played by actual refugees on the run from the Nazis. (As were most of the actors playing the Germans.)
Several of my Ten TV/Movie Songs were ones I wished I could have used here.

A couple of years ago I offered to evaluate the threads for disposal. I started with the oldest threads and worked forwards. All links were dead for virtually every thread until you reached the halfway mark. Then the percentage of dead to active links slowly increased in a curve.
If executed carefully, about 80% of threads could be deleted with no effect.
Of course, that was back when I had the time to do this.
Sarah didn't seem to be interested, since she said it wasn't the number of threads, it was their length.
So, by her reasoning, this thread is the worst offender.

Some of my songs are definitely metaphors. I tried my best to craft a story about the world ending and I think (hope) it comes through pretty clearly. Not sure it's your thing but the whole story thing actually made narrowing down tracks a lot easier. Twas the untagged genres that threw me~

Most of the actors are crying by the end which was not planned, but completely reasonable given they were played by actual refugees on the run from the Nazis. (As were most of the actors playing the Germans.)

I genuinely feel like characters I love have been slighted when they should get a regular release, but don't. And it's even worse when they haven't gotten a figure at all! :laugh: I know it's silly and that it frequently comes down to what molds they already have but it still feels like an injustice.

I have such a grudge against Akibaranger I know I'll never be able to judge it on its own merits. Makes me so mad that it stole so much of Go-Busters' thunder.

Go see Casablanca again. It's a hoot. So is Maltese Falcon, although the Mrs. hates it. Other good ones are The Petrified Forest (the film that made him famous,) High Sierra, Action in the North Atlantic (a cheesy war film, but a very fine cheese,) Sahara (The 1943 version, which has nothing to do with the crappy modern one. Also cheese, but see above,) To Have And Have Not (cheap attempt to remake Casablanca, but based on a Hemingway short story and featuring the debut of Lauren Bacall,) The Treasure of Sierra Madre, Key Largo, The African Queen, The Caine Mutiny, Sabrina (improbably effective as a lead in a romantic comedy,) and The Desperate Hours. He could play good and bad guys so well, he's basically alternating all the way down this list.
I thought Truffaut made Bogart required viewing in France.

World of Goo, Anomaly, Osmos, and EDGE. So, two bundles of games to give away! Somebody better take these. :laugh:

I can recommend the spin-sword, especially for smaller hands. Make sure you have a way to hang it upside-down, like down through a wire shelf or something. Blade is super prone to bending. Also push the clips yourself to release discs. They're super tight, which is good, but prone to breakage if you pull down the disc itself.

The back of my main toy shelf is thin (because it's cheap). I could push little hooks through it or something really easily. I really like the spin sword.

Crap. Vessel, Torchlight, Rochard, S.P.A.Z., and Shatter are all in one Bundle. I was hoping to split stuff. ; ; I have Shatter already and it's really neat. I've played Torchlight and that's pretty awesome too. Would anybody like these? I bought the bundle for Dustforce.
