It's mainly double frying, which is not normal practice here.
There's a new technique developed by a respected chef that involves starting with the fries in room temperature oil and then heating it once. Impractical for restaurant use, but well within the abilities of the home cook. Deb's done it once with good results, and will try it again tonight.

I think they specifically do it to help the kids establish their own identity or something like that? I can understand on some level. I've always been really shy and if I'd always had someone I was really close to in class with me I think I wouldn't have interacted with anyone but them. But it's not like the extra socialization did me much good in the long run. :laugh:

It's a Round 1 album, sort of.
I'm still doing 10 Songs (Part III should be by the end of this month,) but it will take years to fill in all 10 slots. I've got some albums (like this one,) that I've wanted to do separately, and so there you go. They will count backwards from 10 until they and 10 Songs meet in the middle.

I don't doubt ENTIRELY that could make dino mechs with a new spin. Considering Zyuranger's is pretty stock, and Abaranger's is horribly simplistic and arm-swap central.

Yeah, Go-Onger, but shut up haters, they were characters themselves and they wrote the swapping into the story. Plus, Abare Black's was a travesty. It's a carrier (don't give main characters carriers. Looking at you Gekiranger. Molesting bastard :rolleyes:), and they didn't even do it to scale. Had mini-figures of the mechs to stick inside it.

Someone did a scaled custom. Really great.

They could rig up something cool if they keep the designers of the Go-Busters mecha on board. But, I personally don't care for dino-themed stuff (in MMPR it was so much, only about Dragon Caesar), and I won't be disappointed if I get another year off of collecting so soon after Gokaiger :laugh:

As far as sentai series are concerned, have they done mythical beasts (chimaera, pegasus, etc ?)

Quite a few series have had sea creature stuff but nothing's been all underwater.

My favorite pinks aren't SUPER goofy. One is rather serious, most of the time. Of course, in that series Green and Gold picked up the slack.

Aside from the ridiculous amount of money it would cost, the more basic problem with an underwater series would be making interesting fights. Most sea creatures lack limbs so your fights are either proxy space battles, or just having them slam into each other.
There are other insane expositional blocking problems for either ocean or underwater based settings.
You should be thinking from the fight choreography and works outwards. What forms give way to bad ass fights? Especially things people clearly can't do, but are just enough like people to give a frame of reference? It's like the animation design rule that you think in terms of the silhouette. Think about cool shapes and cool movements. Then fight motifs that lend themselves to those shapes.
Then figure out if you can afford them.

Thinking of the Tri-fap makes me think of how I wish they'd work in some more intermediate combinations to reflect character connections from the story. And, they do it, to an extent.

Stag Custom was handled spot-on from J's perspective. That's 100% the way you'd imagine him initiating it. I wish there was a little bit more from Hiromu's. Like if they had had a moment together, on-foot, in that episode?

Rabbit Custom works and should have been used for that enemy under the ground, early on. Mainly, I really wish the panels on Beet could flip over (and were more sturdy), so you could have one of each arm.

I imagine they could do a bit better than "there's a convenient river next to the battlefield for the sub," though. Perhaps they could set it in an Atlantis sort of environment, so you could just use set dressing to achieve the atmosphere. The mechs could be like the Seacons. Each inexplicably having legs :laugh:, and humanoid modes. Carranger did it.

As Dog's thinking cat got older there was less thinking and more just sitting.

An underwater city might work as a base for the series to revolve around. Something that has a Maguffin worth defending, so that it seems fine that everything comes to them. (And the locals don't just kick them out for attracting so many fucking monsters.)
But.
Water makes everything harder. Not just the cost, but it is hard, really hard to do a good underwater fight, just from a choreography point of view. Water tends to slow down action, making quick moves seems out of place. And did I mention the cost?
A completely aerial based series might work. (The design problems of water, but with none of the speed or visibility restrictions of water.) Also, bugs. I'm sure they've already done spiders, mantis and the like, (But as good guys.) It would be creepy, but the extra limbs alone would make it interesting.

What about Atlanteans who have to leave their home because their enemies seek to enslave earth? Could go light with the design inspiration, ala Faiz being a shark, but still work in some tentacle stuff. Would make for pretty neat fights, I think.

ToysRUs is the only one to have it but they've been pretty rare to find and they took it off their site before it was even released. I've wanted that Nightmare Moon ever since I saw the first photos of it from this years toy fair in February~ I had already took a few out of the box earlier~





This Nightmare Moon is kickass~ Now all I want is a recolor of this mold to make Luna and I'll be a completely happy camper~






But Hasbro gon Hasbro........ They got cheap on DJ Pon3. They used a head molded with eyes and just painted her glasses over it....






And the packing was so dang tight that it dented in the some nearly all of their chests..... Mostly visible on Trixie and Rainbow Dash..... That's not really acceptable packaging for a $40 set imo....

i was never very happy with that cover. it was rushed and sloppy. i was trying to do something bunny themed, because you, doc, and tom had all featured bunnies on covers. but vol 2 is quite nice, and all i had to do was add my name. everything is being resized to 600x600.

MP4's are generally just containers.
Like AVI, MKV and M2TS. and TS.
The video format is usually h264. The audio can be MP3, AAC, or AC3.
However, due to the "profiling" of the containers, it restricts what audio formats can be used.
I suspect, largely, it's an AAC/M4A audio file inside the container.

Apple has largely gained dominance in the MP4 world.
AAC, M4A, ALAC, etc.

AAC/LC (Low-Complexity), perfect for streaming online with a predictable algorithm that doesn't fluctuate as much as higher profiles.

Just like with MP3, it's best to stream CBR than a VBR, as the predictability of the actual bitrates can put too much strain on your bandwidth and cause audible errors. With CBR, it keeps the bandwidth open just enough for the actual music.
If you're looking for a reasonable compromise to VBR for streaming, you can try ABR. I think that one is a little less problematic.

I think Metroid and Mega Man are tons easier than Mario games in terms of platforming. Well, the original SMB, at any rate. Boss-wise Metroid and Mega Man far outshine JUMP ON THEIR HEAD 3 TIMES.

I played the original Mario to death....... but I wasn't actually any good at it :sad: I was never able to do the 1up duck and I could never legitimately get to world 8 without the warp tunnel :sad: As much as I wanna be good at platformers..... I'm just not.....

I'm not the greatest. I haven't beaten most of them, because I haven't had the patience to get through Wily castles. The last password they give you is at the start of them, and there's often two castles, later in the series. I could do it, if I sat down and did 'em, learned the weaknesses of the bosses therein. Except the original. Four masters in a row w/o E tanks is fairly brutal.

I enjoy fighting the masters far more, anyway, though. Their levels, their music.

I'm fine being a casual fan.
