I usually just listen to "my top rated" on shuffle. It seems to work. Or it just has to be different with over 4000 songs on it.
I have about 3400. I use to leave it on shuffle, but 'random' isn't always 'random.' especially when the list constantly started and stopped. Now I dump it into a single list. Shuffle it a hundred times, save it again, and then play that in sequence front to back. I get some pretty strange and cool counterpoints. (It's also where I got the playlist for Vols. 1 and 2. First ten tracks of versions one and two.)

Robert Wise (and Douglas Trumball,) are the only reason there is anything like a movie when they were finished. (The day before the premiere.)

I'm not happy with the transfer.

The colors are so blotchy and very strong. It needs proper color balance.
It's very sharp. Not crisp. Just a lot of noise around the grass and trees. Film grain/noise in certain scenes.
Anoyying.

Had to tweak BD player's settings below "normal" to make it look okay.

Definitely going to be running this through a million scripts when I down convert to DVD.
Smoother, DeNoiser, Color Balance, Brightness/Contrast (enhanced version).
Spline100 me thinks. Possibly spline16, since it's so bloody sharp.
The 16 taps will make it look smoother. This should reduce the load on the extra tweaks I must do.

Audio will be fuckin' superb! LPCM/5.1/16bit (even though the case advertises 24bit :notgood:)

Another fun project, oh joy.

The story did lack in some parts. I think David should have gotten a bigger storyline. More details and depth.
It largely should have focused on David and Elizabeth.
Also the whole "more than one ship" thing was obvious before they even landed. "God doesn't make straight lines" is a cool line. But in that same frame, we can see that there were four or possibly five other pyramids. AND that's just one part of the planet. Who's to say that the rest of the planet doesn't have other hives and pyramids scattered all over the place? The scanners did pick up that the pyramid was hollow, so it would not be so easily detectable.
Feck, yeah, the story could use a little more work.
Although....

They did start the movie out to be an official prequel to Alien.
THEN throughout production they switched it to a story on its own; separated from the Alien franchise.
Not a reboot; not a prequel; not intertwined.

The writer of the movie said that given the chance of a sequel, they're going to work harder to make it separated further from the Alien franchise.
They were under time constraints and budget.

Ok... Ignore everything I said. (And erased.) I read the note wrong.
Yes, the picture is orange, the reflection is blue, then it changes to a blue reflection. That's a really bizarre mistake, since if they swap out the color in the reflection, why didn't they do it for the entire shot?

PS: Only a theory, but I think they found the mistake really, really late. Because the one guy crosses in front of the screen, it would be too much work to re-roto him, so they waited until he was clear to fix it. They waited until he was completely out of frame, since our eye would be tracking him, you are more likely to spot it until your eye has had a chance to go somewhere else. Guess there was no time/money for a proper fix, i.e., redo the entire shot.

I don't think it's a fake. Or rather, even if the shot was a fake, it would be the image on the screen, not the frame itself. What is confusing is the movement in the frame. One man crosses to the left, and his reflection is clearly seen. Then there is more movement on the right, but no apparent source. This doesn't mean that no one is there, as a person causing it could be well out of frame, especially if they are walking across the corridor and not down it. (Which would still produce the same type of movement in the narrow frame.)

I solved it.
When looking at Cole in the Sixth Sense, you have to consider two perceptions. First is the perception of the audience. We don't see anything odd about his relationship with his wife, because wrapped in the overall style of the film, it appears that their marriage is on the rocks. Questions about where he's been or what's he done are not relevant until after his fate has been revealed. And then the movie's over. So from that regard, it's fine.
The second perception is what Cole perceives. Generally the comments are valid; if this was a normal person. Matt Wagner in Mage proposed that ghosts were spirits that hadn't resolved their lives, and generally didn't realize they were dead. The Sixth Sense consistently describes the experience the same way. They don't know what they are until they are given a reason to look closely at their own life. (Which is what the boy does.) In practical terms, the psychological effects of being a ghost are similar to schizophrenia. That is when a schizophrenic is exposed to obvious contradictions between their illness and reality, their brain rewrites the input until it makes sense. Cole doesn't wonder why he hasn't taken a shit because his mental illness won't let him pose the question. Only if someone asked him, "Hey, dude, when was the last time you took a dump?" would he possibly realize that he never has. Also covers food, not talking to his wife, case files, etc.
So, I never considered it a problem.
The real metaphysical question is where he got the kid's case file from....

Yeah it is very apparent she wasconsidering the cliff option. I didn't see it the first time around probably just because I wasn't expecting anything like that from Nickelodeon despite the murder/suicide. It was still ambiguous I'm guessing for any censors maybe, but it is definitely there if you're paying attention. Still a bit irrational on her part since she could still airbend, but rational thinking is probably not to be expected of a teenage girl in an emotional state.

No reason for eggface! They were super, super vague about it. I think it would've been a better scene if they hadn't had to be.

I don't know if it'll make you feel better or worse, but I'm pretty certain stuff like that happens because of people lobbying for writer's credits on a song they have nothing to do with. It's a royalties thing, I think it's even in some people's contracts. Someone can change one word of the lyrics as written, and that's enough to get co-writing status.

Does the song use any samples? That could also up the writing credit I believe, provided they were honest about it.
