Yeah, I was completely cognant when I saw The Expendables ,was fairly boring untill the end imo. Chuck would murder them all should he be a bad guy.

I know a lot of people dont like Zimmer's Batman Scores, but why when I listen to a solid minute of Elliot Goldenthal's scores do I feel the need to chunk my Ipod into a dark abyss?

I hated Goldenthal's scores when they first came out.

They made me miss Elfman's though. I was a HUGE Elfman fan back then.....then the Batman Nipples movies came out and I hated the "light hearted" style it all took.

I didn't give "Forever"'s score another chance until the past 2 years. I'm still not awfully fond of Goldenthal's Batman theme....but the rest of it is pretty insane fun.

Elfman basically scored the movie, then walked away never to return, leaving editors to rehash the score given to fit the new scenes and new changes made to the movie. Conrad Pope was also brought in to write new score.
It was a sloppy mess. I heard the recycled score from Elfman all the way through the movie. Un...mis..take...able...
I liked it though lol. I thought it was fun. It was flashy and rich like Bram Stoker's Dracula and the bit in the city where he paints the town red, reminded me of An American Werewolf in London :)

Honestly, it's not the worst. It seems to be aware of its limitations and tries to play up to its strengths. Partially succeeds.

I quite enjoyed both the sequels. Though too bad for you, even though it has Jolene Blalock and a hot blond... no titties.
Although part of the blonds character is she was a jesus freak so expected. Also part of one of the themes how religion makes a comeback after centuries of irrelevance, not for Jesus's sake, but for propaganda.

From what I hear they are going for the original style Conan, so I cant really compare it to the other movie

The closest media to that would be HD-DVD's, around 15-25gb i think, but that media is nearly extinct. It didn't catch on.

most blank dvd's people buy are dvd-5.

it should never have asked you to pay for anything!
the codec for FLAC is free (Free Lossless Audio Codec).
And there are plenty of free media players out there that can play that format.

You just need to install the FLAC codec/frontend. From the official site.
Small install, simple process. You'll never really need to use the frontend, but it installs it anyway.
Since it gets installed, the registry pointers all lead to the FLAC codec installed and the media players should be able to paly them, easy-peasy.

VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) will play FLAC. It'll play every audio and video file I've ever encountered. It's free and open-source. You don't need any extra codec packs which can sometimes cause issues. It's skinable but sometimes they can slow it down.

Overall, it's the best free media player I've ever used.

Sparky is much more knowledgeable in theses things than me so see what he says as well.

If you grant VLC access to the net it'll find album art for you, if you block it then it won't. It'll still work the same except for that.

I went to see Cowboys & Aliens and Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.

Cowboys & Aliens was pretty much what I expected it to be. Some neat scenes, but they're scattered too far apart to not make me feel bad about going to the bathroom. :-\ 2 stars out of 5.

Rise Of The Monkeys was great, great fun. :D :D :D Best part about the Apes movies, is they never end happily ever after.

HBO offered to produce a 4 hour finale.

Daniel Knauf declined stating it was intended to be a bigger story and couldn't finish it in 4 hours.

He said he was interested in completing it in graphic novel form..........7 years later and there's still no sign of it.

ROME got the can that year too. They're making a theatrical film as we speak. :) I am excite for that.

In a way, the ROME film sort of gives me hope for a Deadwood film.

I read someplace that much of the Deadwood sets had been scrapped, or recycled or whatever the hell they do with them in TV land when they don't have the money to keep storage space. I'd love to watch it all again. I should buy it.

I never understand why the suits cancel shit when it takes a lot more money to develop a new show than just keep an already established hit going. Look at Spongebob, they only have like 5 new episodes a year due to the fact that it's been on for 10 years so the reruns keep the show alive enough to half ass it or put all their creative juices into a few good stories.

I've yet to watch Spongebob. I think I'll like it, it looks so fecking weird.

I think HBO canned ROME, Deadwood and Carnivale all the in the same because they were so damned expensive. 3 period piece shows going on at the same time was probably quite pricey.

Sex & The City, Entourage and The Sopranos were probably cheaper to produce and had a much larger audience.

Deadwood would be a hard sell to any other channel. It would have to be heavily cut to be screened in some countries so they'd be better off just not buying it. It was cut over here on Satellite. Only got full release on dvd.

What's up with neg's christmas one? Oh that was in July. I hated it when Disney channel did that christmas in July thing for a couple years. You get more stuff at Christmas but Halloween has an infinity better movie discography plus the weather for the most part isn't hellish cold and you might get a few sexy costumes too!
