I'll let you know when I find out more details. I have heard several things about it, but I don't know yet.
At first it seemed like it was 3 episodes, like movie length, but now I am not so sure?
At previous screenings multiple episodes were shown.

God damn it, I'm so depressed. Late last night, I happened to look at this website called orderseats.com for some last minute Roger Waters "The Wall" tickets. Well, to my amazement and surprise, there were some AWESOME seats available in the front section -- the 13th row from the stage. You know how much they were? $138 each (plus fees), $360 for the pair. The kicker? I have less than $30 in my bank account as of right now (I get paid Friday). Somehow, I was hoping that they would somehow cruise under the radar until then (who knows how long they've been for sale already), but when I checked this morning, they were fucking gone. Now the only comparable thing is about $600 for the deux, about 45 seats back. :-\

FUCK MY MOTHERFUCKING LIFE

:foreveralone:

cuckoo77
11-10-2010, 08:29 PM
I think i lucked out when I got my tickets.

There hadn't really been any advertising for the show in Vancouver yet, for some reason or another.

I wasn't too concerned with where the seats were as long as they weren't to the closest right or lefts of the stage. Really, with a show like this, you don't really have to see the band. It's the spectacle they put on that surrounds them.

I had not really great seats when I saw Floyd, but it didn't matter, because, with a huge stadium show like that it's not the band where there to see. It's their show.....

http://i53.tinypic.com/2rhn4fk.gif

for Floyd, my seats were where that grey splotch is in over by the top left.....Floyd and their stage is at the right (giant pigs included :D)......the floor seat are all the red and the giant crystal ball that came out of the ground and opened up like a humongous glowing flower is in the very center.

For "The Wall" i pretty much have the same seats, only in the 236 section.

cradub
11-10-2010, 08:55 PM
Looks like our arenas are pretty much shaped the same. I like to be close to the action, but you're right, the show and spectacle itself is really what matters in the end. Still, after missing out on $360 for 2 front row seats, it's going to be hard to go settle for worse tickets at a higher price. I had seats similar to those you mentioned before (the gray splotch) and could hardly see the fucking stage or the performers. It was terrible, they were like tiny dots. Luckily I also bid on some better tickets before the show and ended up giving the bad seats away to some people I didn't really care for. ;)

This pic represents where I could have sat for cheap (smiley face) as opposed to the reality if I end up paying $200 per ticket for terrible seats.

http://i53.tinypic.com/71k5t2.gif

The seating chart really doesn't do it justice. In reality, the stage is way smaller than that in comparison to the seat placements. It's not at all to scale.

cuckoo77
11-10-2010, 09:01 PM
i really don't think you need to see the stage or the performers. With the giant screen, the lights and lasers, the giant marionettes and pigs, not to mention the wall building up to separate the band from the crowd, you're going to want a distant seat. Otherwise as the show progresses your gonna hurt your neck trying to look past these giant bricks covering the screen and lights show, while the people with distant seats can still see, as they're looking down at the stage.

Anger is a funny emotion. :D

anger is ten times funnier when produce is involved.

Yeah, never been to a Floyd concert, so I don't really know what to expect.

think of it as an IMAX screen....you want to be as far back as you can to see everything, without having to constantly straining your neck or moving your head to see whatever it is you should be watching. Hell, they use a large circular screen that's larger than a regular movie screen hovering above the band.

Take these for example:

Well, thanks for the tips. I'll see if they have anything else cheap available and I'll take what I can get.

Hopefully this concert is comparable to the one you saw before, with the same high production values. I'd hate to think they skimp out on any of the nitty gritty details at my venue.

For IMAX, I usually position myself in the middle, about halfway up the stadium. Everything else is skewed one way or another.

Oh well. I suppose I should be happy with whatever I can get.

I'd buy whatever I could get if I were in your position.....

.....this is "The Wall" we're talking about. I'm 99% sure, this is going to be the last chance you're ever going to get to this show performed live.
I've been watching some shitty quality bootleg vids of the recent "Wall" shows and yeah....you don't need to see the band. There's a giant wall that gradually builds itself over the duration of the show, that covers the band up for last half of the show anyways.

I'm looking at all the slim pickings that's left on craigslist and getting really depressed. The crappiest seats, inflated WAY over face value. Well, I've got about 3 weeks of searching for the best ones...

Yeah, after seeing the footage, there's no way I can miss out on this. It's been 30 years since the last time it was performed, I'm pretty sure this is the last chance I'll ever have, too.

Getting kind of giddy to see it. It's been a while since I've been to something of this magnitude. :)

I can't wait. I never thought i'd ever get to see any Floyd music performed by any of the original members in a stadium spectacle.

All i ask for now is a Boingo performance with Elfman. Sadly, that will never happen. :(

--------

here's my list of the best live performances I have ever seen:

1) Pink Floyd - The Division Bell tour (1994)
2) Faith No More - King For Day, Fool For A Lifetime Tour (1995) on my b-day too :)
3) Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante Tour (1996)
4) Green Day - Warning Tour (1999)
5) The Kids In The Hall 2000 tour
6) Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals Tour (1999)
7) Star Wars: In Concert - (2010)
8) Nirvana - In Utero Tour (1993)
9) Nine Inch Nails - Fragility Tour (1999)
10) Primus & TOOL @ Lollapalooza '93 (in support of "Pork Soda" & "Undertow") (Rage Against The Machine, Alice In Chains, Dinosaur Jr., Fishbone, Arrested Development and Front 242 were there too.)

looking at that list, i realize....yeah......i do miss the '90's.

if it holds the same quality that the rest of TV series has upheld, I think it should be pretty good.

some of the episodes, I think, are far superior to Ep. I & II.

I've never seen any live performances in person, ever.

You're right that game is pretty creepy.

"Perversions of Science" huh, what could this lovely thing be? Read Mario facebook in the cartoon voices.

It's apparently a Tales from the Crypt knock-off anthology series that deals more with science fiction stories than horror, and features a central nipply robot character rather than the traditional cryptkeeper storyteller.

Ahem, as I've already explained, it's an early 90s series that was created in the wake of Tales from the Crypt, with a slight sci-fi spin. :p

I already typed them up but the cursor didn't put them on screen and I had to just watch the damn thing slowly create what I already told it to do.

They were a silly Canadian band from the early '90's. I think that song first came out in 90 or 91. They were pretty successful in here and in the UK on the charts, but never really made it in the States, besides a XTC cover on the Dumb & Dumber soundtrack.

I watched the first 4 again.....1 & 2 are great.
Never ever saw 3 until a few weeks ago.........i wasn't missing a thing. Holy shit, that was terrible.
Then I watched 4 (Bloodline)....that was the only other one i had seen before (I've seen 1 & 2 numerous times).....4 was still just all right.
Then I watched 6 (Hellseeker), basically just to see Ashley Laurence return to the series.......nope. Got through 30 minutes of it and shut it off.

Holy Shit. Nightbreed info. An extended 159-minute cut version, from another VHS found in July 2009, was premiered on March 27th 2010 as part of the Horrorhound Weekend in Indianapolis. This new version adds almost a whole hour that was cut from the theatrical release, including a musical and more animation.

But the studio says there is not enough demand for a dvd release. Bastards. I thought there was only about 20 minutes cut.

His run on Astonishing X-men was great. One of my favorites. He did a few issues of Runaways which was fine too. I enjoyed the first year of Buffy Season 8, but I found it lost it's way and i missed a few months, back issues are hard to come by and I just stop collecting them. Thanks to the interwebs, I haven't been able to avoid spoilers and have had most of the surprises ruined for me, so I haven't been to keen on picking up the trade paperbacks.

"Thief" was so good.

I bought it for a bunch of people one year for Christmas. I must have looked a little loony picking up about 10 copies of that book at once.

Imajica though, is my favorite Barker book. I hope....absolutely hope, it NEVER gets made into a movie. Nothing could ever do it justice, unless it had like Lord Of The Rings type budget, which would never happen for a Barker project.

I've been in similar situations with other things. And no matter how much you try to convince them that the book was amazing they still look at you like you're some kind of dick with an arm growing out of your head.

I'll send you some remixes, once I've completed a track from "The Social Network" for the contest they have going on.

he just loses his rhythm at times and it's obvious. which is quite frankly astounding, considering Gilmour and Waters haven't been all that secretive as to how many takes he did do for these songs and still ended up having to use some wobbly takes for the final release.
