Coz pig latin works with syllables rather than just letters, it should actually be Ethay.

i have no idea what you just typed... could you make this a little clearer and less hard to figure out? i mean make you code language a little more in line with what the rest of us do and try not impose you specific language on others? :)

Just take the "AY" off the end of each word and then you are left with several words of which you need to put the last letter of each word as the first of each word and it'll be clearer...I hope...doesn't really work on the first word though, but you'll figure it out...I hope...

With the new releases it's easy to check the codes against BF's "what's new" page and see if any of them match up.

If this becomes standard I'll just have to download first too find out what it is. I'm too old to learn a new code.

If I don't know what something is, I download it anyway. It's often a pleasant surprise. That said, while I like the whole obscuring of titles, I can see how some people might find it irritating or too puzzling.

Oddly, while I am familiar with Pig Latin, this interpretation of it (as it is a more phonetic language and not normally put into print) totally threw me for a loop. I had a more difficult time with it than some (but the most outre) code terms.
I figured it out, but the first word was coded strangely (as it should have been "HeTay" and i found myself stymied for a few moments because of it (I was helped by "Octorday" and then "Ixthsay", and was then able to come around to it).

Sadly, Dying of the Light, because of link-rot and/or temporary/soon-deleted links, there really is no way to search for stuff in this thread.
It's usually up for a few days and then gone.
SOME links are good for longer periods, but those are rare, so it's usually a matter of reading along every few days and then, as it gets close to the weekend, download what you want.

If the codes are hard to parse, as mentioned earlier, look at the new release list from LC and you can usually figure out what's what.

If you've missed something (and give it a few weeks after release date before you think you have missed it) - then just send a polite request.
Most of the folks here are happy to oblige.

I confess to being clueless on more than a few occasions, but sometimes, I just DL it and see what it is.

The one steadfast code that is used is the word "medic" to indicate it is a Dr. story.
Other than that, there are others that are often used (like pepperpots - although, I wonder WHY as that is a common referral term for those baddies and would be something that I - if I were a hunter-bot programmer - would have programmed it to look for) - or variations of some similar word; like "brief falls" for the sh0r+ Tr!ps series (or, as I like to do - as you saw there, is to use non-letter characters to replace lookalike characters).

Others use the S-P-A-C-E-R technique.

A common code would be nice, but changing it up a bit is more fun and keeps the watchers on their toes.

It wouldn't surprise me. However, it's still good that we're getting longer stories with the scarfed one. I love the monthly 2-parters with him, but I've wanted to listen to more 4 and/or 6-parters with him since re-listening to his Missing Tales box set after purchasing them when they were on sale.

It was my first flight in a plane - I even got to go to the cockpit and look out the front window...

A much better drinking age in England (not sure if it is the same - but I had my first Guiness).

Sounds like you had a really good time. I haven't been back to the UK since we left in 1977. I'd love to go back, see where I was born, visit my sister etc.

To be fair, Marvel wanted to work with him for years even before he played the Great Detective. It's just that they realized that he's so "in-demand" right now, that they'd have to accommodate the shooting schedule around him and his schedule. Which can be pretty tough, especially when maintaining a juggernaut like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plus, I recently discovered that in the early days of the comic character you're referring to, his likeness was more based on actor Vincent Price, who's also American. But I do see your point.

Agreed. One of my friends showed it to me a few years ago because he knew I was a Bruce Campbell fan. I was shocked that I hadn't seen it before and loved every minute of it. However, after looking it up and seeing it had come out in 2002, I realized that I was probably too busy in my life at that point to have seen it even if I really wanted to. High school marching band tends to become your full-time job outside of school when you're not doing homework. I was also in my sophomore year, so I suspect I wouldn't have had anyone among my peers who'd be keen on seeing it with me.

Hate to double post and be "that guy", but has anyone gotten LC's adaptation of Sam Kisgart's novel yet? I'm really wanting to listen to it tonight, since I have the day off from work. Thanks!

Not sure if anyone can help. I got signed out of my account and can't remember my password. Tried the forgot password link several times and keeps saying I have been sent an email but nothing shows up in my email account. Not in junk spam or anything. When I searched my email account for my password from last time I forgot it I notice I've not had any emails from ffshrine since 1st Oct.
I've just had to create a new email account to get back on as there is no way to contact an administrator without being logged in. I'm now in the process or adding comments to get me back up to be able to send private messages as I still can't contact admin til that is done.
Anyone had this problem or have a suggestion as I can now no longer get to my private messages and have lost a few of the more resent links people have been kind enough to send me.

Ditto here. Had to set up a new account, since my old one was registered to my (very) old AOL address, which has been closed. So, I had no way to reset my password.

Same here, though I didn't have to set up a new account at least.

I just reset my password as well, goofy, happened while I was on line yesterday. dropped me as i was wondering around the site.....not my fault...honest!...lol!

I also had to keep myself from bursting out with loud vulgarities and acts of violence toward the computer. I didn't think the sataff of my local library would have appreciated that.

I consider myself lucky that all I had to do was update to a new password.
Some of you chaps seem to have had to jump through virtual hoops.

Glad everyone made it back safe and sound.

I used to like knowing when I had joined. Now I have to remember as its been reset. Also have to start from the beginning with the post #s as well.

Always a good idea to write down the Email address you used to create your account here.

When I asked to reset my password it took a while for the Email to come through. I requested twice, and then they both came through at once.

It must suck not having all your old details - friend list, messages, number of posts, rep points etc if you had to create a new profile.

Looks like everyone was affected in some way.

Happened to me as well. I was thinking of changing my password sometime anyway, so I just changed it up without much complaint. Did catch me off-guard, though.

Looks like I had same password problems as everyone else. Couldn't get in with my password and had to reset it too.

Thankfully I had just changed the e-mail address to a new one, or I would have had to create a new account also.

No one seems to know for sure at the moment.

I was logged out when I reloaded a page the other night. I tried to log back in and was told my password was wrong. Eventually I got the password to reset.

Several people seem to have either forgotten the Email used to create their account or the Email account became inactive through being unused - meaning they couldn't just reset their password, hence they were locked out of their account and have had to create new ones.

If people follow the link I put above then they'll find how to get back their old accounts, hopefully.

I couldn't recover mine, had to re-register with another account. tried four times to get new password but would not send me an e-mail link. ho hum.

And finally I'm back - the post that Exterminate Me (#33982) does the trick though you do have to wait round a bit to be able to PM. Jessie is very helpful and got it sorted in seconds - big relief

I just got my account sorted out and yes it had an old email address.

If you go into the chatroom under the root Forum and contact Jessie he or she will respond and tell you the email address and will change it if you like. you will then receive the email to the nominated email address for a link to click on to reset the password. You will then receive another email with the new password generated

Please note in the chat room you may not get a response immediately. It took Jessie 10hrs to respond to me. Probably time zones

Sounds like I was fairly lucky, just had to request a new password and it worked first time.

I don't think it will make much difference to them. The full cast stories seem to have moved on to the post-Blake era anyway, and it makes absolutely no difference to the Chronicles. Fingers crossed anyway.
