So i see the old links for the Large Conclusions from back when of the monthly are dead. My Hard drive with most of mine on it died a couple of days a go. I need 1-6, 8-15, 19-103, 105-130 i know that is a big request but every little thing helps and i do prefer non torrent and non rapidshare. thanks in advance
Unfortunately, sharing all these will be easiest via a torrent. For example, my copy of #1 (with CD/Booklet Art) is 250Mb, and most sharing sites have a 200Mb limit, so it would have to split into two parts...

If you really can't do torrents, then I'm sure between us, we can get all these up for you, but it would probably take a loooong time...

thanks there is still a chance i but some others zip/rar files on another hard drive but i will now by monday if so that would be easier then trying to get them all but i do know that my first few 1-6, 8-15 are gone and a few others and if it helps i am more after the dalek, cybermen, 8th doctor, multi doctor ones more than any right now if that helps and i cant do torrents because of the network i am on and i have that site from back on pg 113 i use for rapidshare but anyways i guess i could say that 1, 11, 15, 19, 29-33, 40, 47-50, 52-55, 58, 61, 63-65 , 72, 75, 77, 80, 86-88, 117-119, 121, 123-124, and 129. I know that is still a long list but unless i can switch boards with another hard drive that may be the only way to get them back so yeah thanks

#1, Part 1 (256kbps) (http://bit.ly/JSy8TL)

This is great thank you

It had completely passed me by that these were being released like this.

Does anyone have links to the First and Second Collections at all? I've pretty much rediscovered my love for Doc's one and two after a long-ish illness has given me a chance to watch my DVD's of their adventures.

HUGE Thanks, Daft! I hadn't got any of these 'Lost Episodes' series...

It had completely passed me by that these were being released like this.
They hadn't passed me by - just at 70-75 per box (Collection 4 came out in February, Collection 5 is due in August), these are a little out of my price range...

There is also the 'BBC Radio Episodes (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Doctor-Who-The-Radio-Episodes/dp/1408467569/)' available in the same range - does anyone have this? It's been out for a year, but I've never seen it...

Up until about S9, yep. After that it all gets a bit lost and, IMHO, the boxsets have been very disappointing.

But "Just War" is a fantastic bit of audio.

While we're at TWo (see request in post 3078):

Is there any chance to find 12 (it's about a male who transferred a whole planet for money) and 14 (named after the side-effects of a nuclear explosion)?
I've been looking around for those two but only ended up with torrents (which I don't do).

Question: Have there been any cool Dalek comments from the doctor on any episodes?

For Example:
On Planet Of Fire - The 5th doctor says "Daleks - I sometimes think those mutated misfits will terrorize the universe until the rest of time"

Can anyone think of any others?

Couple of good ones from the ninth Doctor episode, Dalek that always stuck with me...

Dalek: I am alone in the universe!
Doctor: Yup:
Dalek: So are you. we are the same.

And later, when the Doc is getting angry:

Dalek: Have pity!

Daleks In Manhattan

Martha Jones: You can't experiment on people, it's insane. It's inhuman!
Dalek: We are not human.

The Doctor: They survived, they always survive, while I lose everything...
Tallulah: The metal thing? What was it?
The Doctor: It's called a Dalek. And it's not just metal, it's alive.
Tallulah: You're kidding me.
The Doctor: Do I look like I'm kidding? Inside that shell, there's a creature born to hate... whose only thought is to destroy everything and everyone that isn't a Dalek too. It won't stop until it's killed every human being alive.

Doomsday.

Cyber Leader: Daleks, be warned. You have declared war upon the Cybermen.
Dalek Sec: This is not war - this is pest control!
Cyber Leader: We have five million Cybermen. How many are you?
Dalek Sec: Four.

jrtxs2001: Are you familiar with The Doctor Who Transcripts (http://www.chakoteya.net/DoctorWho) and The Doctor Who Transcripts Project (Mirror Site) (http://dwtpscripts.tripod.com/index.php) (the latter has the aired version of An Unearthly Child, whereas the former accidentally only has the unaired)?

You can look through the transcripts to see if anything catches your fancy. Dalek stories pretty much always have "of the Daleks" in the titles, so they're rather easy to recognize.

For people looking for pictures from stories (promos, behind-the-scenes, etc...), including a lot of color ones from the b&w days, I recommend tragicalhistorytour.com (http://tragicalhistorytour.com) (go to the Master List).

LOL @ the pattern book. Some horrible '80s knits in there. Did the pattern people at all realize that Tegan's "boob tube" (wow, that's official?) was a corset? I've got one just like it in black (of the goth corset variety). It wouldn't really look anything like the original without boning, which is not 'sewing for beginners'! Poor kids that got Adric tunics made for them. The only remotely wearable thing in there is Romana's sailor top. And the felt cybermat will always be cute. Obviously, the Tom Baker scarf is a classic.

I am not sure I understand this request. There is only one existing episode from this story left in the archives (available commercially on Lost in Time), although many people have reconstructed the remaining episodes from available soundtracks and photos (and a bit of CGI and new filming in some cases). If a reconstruction is what you want (usually including the remaining episode), I can recommend Loose Cannon (www.recons.com) . The production is free to obtain on DVD apart from sending a disc and return postage and packing.

I have an ancient second had copy of that somewhere. It's falling to bits, essentially. So thank you very much!

Also, I seem to remember that there was a hardback Dalek graphic novel released way back in the mists of time. My grandparents had it, and I used to like reading it whenever I went over there. Then one time I realised it could be a collector's item, so I intended to keep it for myself. But by then, they'd gotten rid of it in a move. Sigh. So, anyone else remember a Dalek GN? If so, do they have a link for it? Thanks!

My connection is also quite slow, compared to many others on here (max upload ~120kB/s), but it only took 20 minutes to upload to 2Shared, at an average of about 70kB/s. If your ETA was 27 hours, then there is definitely something wrong, even if you are using dial-up...

Please note that this collection also includes the download-only audios (where there was no cover disc, just a link in the mag to download the audio) - I still refer to these as cover discs, even though there was no actual disc.

Bizarre request, and a bit vague.
At one point, I read somewhere that one of Terry Nation's books, or possibly some otehr printed item tried to reconcile "The Daleks" with "Genesis of the Daleks". It stated that the Daleks we saw in their first story were not ones that had been created by Davros, but rather survivors of the war with the Thals who were mutated by the radiation, and found prototypes of the travel machines, which they crawled into. I have no idea where I read about this, but I was wondering if anyone knew what it was, and where I might find it?

EDIT
I found the name of the book I'm looking for! According to this site (http://www.historyvortex.org/DalekOrigins.html) it's The Official Doctor Who and the Daleks Book. Any idea where I can find it? Have I possibly just missed it in this thread?

3) While I'll end up putting the request, by default, on MF and/or JF (maybe even ZS because they're kicking some ass), I'm open to other options.

4) My upload speed go from 10kb/s to 100kb/s and average around 70kb/s.
--->This means it will take me a while to upload some of the files.

5) ALL my files are TAGGED AWESOMELY!
--->No, I'm serious, I'm (anal)-retentive/OCD about something like making DAMN SURE the file names/tags are 'right'.

6) If it's not in my list, I don't have have it so don't request it from me.

7) Seven eight nine which scares the FUCK outa ten!

10) HELP ME PLEASE!

11) I'm only sharing the files for educational purposes so if you enjoyed them BUY THE FUCKING THINGS.
No, Seriously, you REALLY should.
So they'll make more of them.
Maybe even re-release them in some kind of 'All The # Doctor's Audio Adventures' so I can stop carrying around my boxes of cassette and CDs.

So Sorry!

Hi all, I promised someone on here ages ago that I would upload the Sherlock Holmes stories made by BF. I just went to look on my computer, and the files appear to have vanished. They are still in iTunes but the links to the files are broken. I don't know where they went, I'm running a full search now but I fear I may well have lost them... In that case I apologise for a) taking so long to post again and b) for not actually giving anything when I do post.

Hey, guys. Anyone got the newest stuff from the cricket man and the scarfed one, as well as the lost story of the multi-colored one reuniting with an old friend from when he was the clownish one? Just wondering. Take your time, though. I don't need 'em now. I can wait. Also, I hope I wasn't being TOO oblique.

A request: the version I have of Ffaaccttiioonn Ppaarraaddooxx #2: Tthhee Sshhaaddooww Ppllaayy is a corrupt file. I could have sworn I got a fix on it, but evidently not. It's missing a chunk at roughly 56 minutes in--and it's definitely corrupt because it also won't convert.

Anyone have a version that doesn't have this problem? It may have been a mess from its probable albumwrap origins (?).

I just checked mine, and found that Track 8, which should be 10:26 long, cuts out at about 9:42, missing the last 44 seconds of the track...
I'm now also looking for a fixed copy. I checked the one on thebox, and that has the same error (so save your ratio, and don't try it - lol) ;)

change the file name to a .rar file. You can then open it - it is a collection of jpgs

NileQT1987
06-26-2012, 12:15 AM
If you change it to a .cbr file, you can also open in it in a comic viewer such as GonVisor.

I generally prefer the comic viewer format for magazines, comics or anything that is a collection of pictures, as .pdfs are a bit of a pain to get images out of (and people don't always make the images extractable without reducing image quality).

But yeah, either type ".rar" or ".cbr" at the end of the file name and it will automatically turn it into an openable file.

Speaking of, I can provide if anyone else here needs invites to the place with the little green imp. And for those willing to torrent, there's an amazing collection there of every single DW audio ever (note that a few need to be replaced with non-corrupt files, but it's really the place to go when you're trying to get your collection started--trying to download them all individually from file lockers would be a serious pain).

The search on the Impish site is temperamental at the best of times. It seems to work best with one or two keywords - any more tends to confuse it. Also, recently, it's been missing results, and sometimes just refreshing the page can make them appear, sometimes not. For example, if you look at my torrents (http://www.demonoid.me/files/?uid=5060900&seeded=2), it says I have posted 57 of them, but I just looked, and page 1 only showed 15 of them (this time, but it changes randomly - it should show 50), and page 2 said 'No Torrents'. The same problem affects the main search results, in that all results aren't always displayed. If it looks like you haven't got all 50 results per page, try a refresh.

Anyways, as promised:#141 (http://www.demonoid.me/files/details/2967216/)

I was just wondering if anyone could help me with any Doctor Who reference books - I had loads years ago but the house I was in got flooded and most of the books were destroyed.

I have downloaded loads of the novels etc which have been great and am now on the lookout for any reference books that anyone has to share. I haven't tried a search because there are so many but to give you an idea all I have are the 7 handbooks so anything other than those would be brilliant.

I remember one book in particular which was like an episode guide that purely examined the novels with quite in depth synopses etc and maybe the BF - though I think it was just the novels but as I can barely remember what day it is these days I may be wrong.

Thanks in advance.

So, I'm looking for a song. It's from #51 - The Wormery.
These are as much of the lyrics as I can make out

You say you never wanted her in your hair
well as you know she’s famous for it!
Her name induces sighs of despair
well as you know she’s famous for it!
Aside from vats of liquor, your cupboard is bare!
You damn her to the devil but she’s already there!
No one else beside her
you’re beside yourself with joy...

It's sung by Iris Wildthyme. Does anyone know if I can even get a clean copy of the song?

Spooky. I was just thinking about them this afternoon as I gave the main a repeat listen. It's a bit of a Catch-22 with that particular crowd - I like the combination, but there's never enough story to go round for them in the 2CD format. They really need a proper mini-series to give each character their own time to shine properly and contribute.

(And someone to remind Janet that when she's not shouting she's not a bad audio-actress.)

Really enjoyed the B of B too. I was on the edge of my metaphorical seat at times.

I had to remind myself what the Lost Story was - but I could remember that I really didn't rate it.
Can't imagine it would ever had made it to screen even if the circumstances around Season 23 had been different.

NileQT1987

As much as I love David, his attempts at American accents have all been thoroughly painful (and he's my favorite Doctor and one of my favorite audio readers along with the likes of Frazer Hines, Nicholas Courtney, Peter Purves and William Russell, whom I've found particularly enjoyable so far--for the girls, Anneke Wills and Katy Manning are voices I enjoy--what they all have in common is they always put in a lot of effort, have some range in their voice tone and never sound bored--or they're just those 'I'd listen to them read the phone book'-type voices).

I'll give it to Matt Smith in The Runaway Train (which I have heard) for his superior attempt at an American accent. Obviously, he doesn't have a thick Scottish accent to work through. Sylv is also Scottish, but it's quite a bit less noticeable than with David (Sylv just sounds like Sylvester the Cat--which is actually entertaining audio-wise). Admittedly, Matt was doing a Wild West accent in that audio reading, but it wasn't actually all that far off from your usual old Western movie accent (see Peter Purves' Morton Dill accent that actually isn't that far off, even if it actually makes more British people cringe than Americans, because I think Americans are more familiar with what this old comedy archetype that was all over television in the '50s-'60s should sound like--Purves is actually spot-on for what he was aiming for).

But yeah... David's better off sounding Scots or Estuary when doing American characters. It really does sound closer. He was marginally better with the American Southern accent I once heard him try, but his mispronunciation of "Potomac" (he didn't seem to realize that the "mac" bit comes out "mic") was a bit of a facepalm. David would have been so much better off if they had just made his Rex is Not Your Lawyer character a Scottish immigrant and worked it into the plot (it probably would have improved the plot by giving the writers something to work with).

Though I've noticed that both Nicola Bryant and Matt Smith have mispronounced "paella" ("pai-ey-yuh", not "pai-el-luh"--Spanish fail), which I assume must be some weird British thing where you guys don't even try to pronounce Spanish words the Spanish way. If Peri really is supposed to be from Pasadena (or even Baltimore for that matter, though Californians also spend a lot of time laughing at people from Back East for mispronouncing Spanish all over the place), she most certainly would have enough passing familiarity with Mexican Spanish to get that one right! That "paella" line is nails on "glaaahss" every time I hear it in The Two Doctors and it was surprising to hear Matt Smith say it the same way.

I'll admit it, though: it takes a pretty strong Aussie accent for me to recognize it as Aussie. I'm starting to be able to identify a few British accents (I'm pretty familiar with what to listen for with Yorkshire, for example), but I still get duped by some of the softer Aussie and South African voices unless it's totally Crocodile Dundee/Steve Irwin. Cockney, Irish, Scots and Welsh, on the other hand, are far more obvious.

Heh, you guys haven't heard BAD AMERICAN accents until you've heard David Tennant trying desperately to cover up his Scottish accent! Caught it on a YouTube for a show he did a pilot for that never got off the ground. He actually sounded more American when he was The Doctor!

I am a HUGE Tennant fan but I have to agree the accent was dire. I am glad it did not get picked up and from me that is saying something.

For the record I just have to say the worste ever accent I've heard from any actor has to be Patrick Stewrt's French accent on TNG... It's like he's not even trying.

PS: I've just heard a clip of "Rex is not your lawyer", and find Tennants accent supirior to anything Matt Smith thinks sounds american. I've actually heard people who kind of sounded like Tennat's american.

I have thought about using Torrents and a lot of people use Demonoid. Is it easy to use and how do you register? It says I need an invite?

Any help gratefully received. ^_^

I just realized I had an orphaned page of The Jokers from TV Comic.

http://www.2shared.com/file/WnsXb_mW/6x0750_-_The_Jokers.html

Missing:
First Doctor: The Secrets of Gemino (TV Comic 753-754 & 757), The Haunted Planet (TV Comic 758-762), The Hunters of Zerox (TV Comic 763-767).
Second Doctor: The Space Pirates (TV Comic 859-863), Car of the Century (TV Comic 864-867), The Jokers (TV Comic 868-869 & 871).
Fourth Doctor: The Eerie Manor (TV Comic 1371-1372), Guardian of the Tomb (TV Comic 1373-1379), The Image Makers (TV Comic 1380-1385), The Wanderers (TV Comic 1404-1408), The Metal Eaters (TV Comic 1409-1415), Moon Exploration (TV Comic 1416-1423).
Numerous Battles in Time and DW Adventures Mags missing.

Does anyone have any of these?

Ack, I just realized that I don't have the 1976 and 1979 Dalek Annuals in .cbr format (1977 and 1978 are pretty easy to find on Google). The torrents are all quite dead. 1979 is in a .pdf format that I'm loathing having to pull all the images out one-by-one in reduced quality (non-extractable). Well, TheBox has 1976, but only in .pdf.

Appeal for Assistance

I know this is nothing to do with Doctor Who, but we do have some very technically able fellows on this thread, and I am hoping one of them may be able to help.

(from Wiki)

Dan Dare Radio Luxembourg serial

The New Adventures of Dan Dare, Pilot of the Future aired five times a week on Radio Luxembourg for five years from July 2, 1951. Dan's voice was Noel Johnson, who also played Dick Barton on BBC radio. Each episode started with the command "Spaceships Away!". The 15-minute show was sponsored by Horlicks and on March 3, 1952, the 106th episode of Dan Dare was heard that Monday night with different episodes on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 7:15pm. Although the dramatisation was recorded on wax discs for broadcast, the original discs were lost or destroyed. Until recently no copies had ever been recovered but in late 2011 two episodes were found as part of the Lost Shows Appeal, orchestrated by missing episode hunter Charles Norton. The recovered shows were "Under Sentence of Death" (episode 76), aired 21/01/1952, and The Lost World On Mars (episode 53), aired 19/03/1953.

Although these two recovered episodes may not be shared (for very complicated reasons), a further episode has surfaced and is available here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?n7zwvz2o0huagrw

This episode suffers from a number of serious sound faults and defects. Unfortunately, Dan Dare fans are - by and large - an ageing bunch (I include myself in this) and so far the skill required has been beyond us, other than to apply blanket hiss filters and equalise, which offers some improvement, but deadens the sound so one cannot totally understand the performances.

If anyone has any ability to make this recording sound nearer to the way it did when it was broadcast, it would be very much appreciated.

Just started using Demonoid last month and I love it so much I cancelled my lame-o Graboid account. Don't have enough cred over there yet to get invites, but I did get an offer of one from the good folks on this 'site. Hopefully they'll hear your plea.
