Well this is unexpected. I came here expecting the site to be bursting with activity, everyone giving their thoughts about the newest Seasonal Medic since it's aired in just about every region....or already available for download on certain sites...guess I was wrong. I personally liked it. It had humor, excitement, a cleverly written story and maybe even a future plot thread or two. The trailer for Season 10 makes me think we might be in for one helluva ride when the Medic returns in the spring.

Airs in Australia tonight 7.30pm (iView from 6am). But for me, even though I grabbed the download, it's a night time event, not during the day. It has to finish airing in UK first (6am here) , then people have to watch it. And it's all a public holiday worldwide where we are catching up with friends, etc. So there's nothing strange about it at all. You may not be as aware of your time zones as some are.

webs01
12-26-2016, 09:07 AM

As I said, airs tonight on Australian TV. Your original post was only 8 hours after it aired in the UK. Take an hour off to actually watch it (after it finishes airing in the UK) and that's 7 hours. Way too soon for discussion yet. Perhaps tomorrow then. Cheers.

I can't say for certain, because I haven't gone back to scour the scene for all the comic and assorted easter eggs, but he MAY be referring to the fact that there was a plethora of assorted nerdity in young Grant's bedroom.

I was happy to see a poster of a Marvel DEFENDERS cover (I'll have to freezeframe the vid to make sure,) that I think was issue 109 (and happily had Doctor Strange on that cover - mixing my two fave Doctors in the episode).

Goku may have been portrayed somewhere.

BUT, now that you mention it... the reporter using rough interrogation techniques (abusing poor Mr. Squeezehead) DID make it seem a little like a Law and Order cop show.

so are you saying that all you see when you watch the current medic is Malcolm? actors can play other roles beside rather forgetable movie flop based on stupid japanese animation...

never saw dragonball z dont care to and frankly find it stupid and the fact that there was a live action flop cements that deal....

so no never though of goku when i watched it...

i'm not the only one --"Dragonball Evolution was released in Japan and several other Asian countries on March 13, 2009, and in the United States on April 10, 2009. but then i guess you are the 1 person that saw it

Ok. SLOW DOWN. I wasn't the person who brought up Goku. I was merely answering your question -- I don't watch Dragonball. Never have. I just have a good memory for actors, and I know Justin Chatwin was in War of the Worlds as Tom Cruise's son and in Dragonball: Evolution, which everyone says is horrible. Jesus, calm the flip down. You're upset at me, because someone else made a joke that you didn't get. Slow your roll.

And frankly, yes, some people, for a variety of reasons, can associate an actor with a certain role, so much so that it's their first instinct upon seeing them. Whenever you watch a Christopher Reeve movie, doesn't the big blue boy scout come to mind first? When the Shat shows up in something, don't you think of Kirk? And when 10 or 11 or 4 or 5 or 9 show up in something, don't a lot of us think of the Medic first? It happens. And then it passes, and we accept them as a new character, even though the awareness of their previous role lingers to some extent in the back of our minds. It's human. It's normal. And it's nothing to get bloody mad about.

I was watching the special and I saw an interview with justin chatwin during a behind the scenes featurette during the commercials and I recognized him from DBE although all I saw of it was the tail end of it. A flop it may have been but it did have a hong kong action star (not one of the martial arts ones) who's been in a few american movies including one with mark wahlberg and it had Spike himself James Marsters as Piccolo now if only he would reprise John Hart(Torchwood) in a medic episode or audio.I quite enjoy espousing my rather esoteric knowledge of genre trivia.

I was so saddened by the loss of Carrie Fisher. I had met her once in the early 90s before the expanded universe had begun. I had gone to L.A. for the premiere of a movie called the Muse. She was there and I had walked up to her and said that I remembered her from The Blues Brothers. She laughed, we joked for a bit. She classy and funny. I told her how much I enjoyed seeing her in Star Wars and I thanked her for her time. She was so cool, everything I could have imagined. That is something I will never forget.

2016 has been one cold hearted cruel ass bitch.

how Cruel? actor George Irving has also passed away on the same day as Fisher
who was he? well he was the voice of Underdog and also known as the voice of the Heat Meiser in the Rankin-Bass Christmas specials...

but how scripted and dark is this?

George Irving also won a Tony for the stage play "Irene" he won for best Actor ..... his co-star was nominated for Best Actress
Her Name? Debbie Reynolds

and that play also was the acting debut of another actress.... Reynolds' daughter ---- Carrie Fisher.

and how is this connected to us here? the West End Version of this revival of Irene a few years later had a certain "3rd Medic" play the role that Irving did and later on a different role as a camp fashion designer "Madame Lucy"

The Reaper is a twisted messed up bitch

Minor correction:
George Irving provided the voice of the Narrator for Underdog. Underdog himself, was voiced by Wally Cox.
Still, this is a bizarre trifecta for that bastard, the Reaper.

The amusing thing about that series, was the ventriloquist was rubbish, when he performed live it was if he was having a conversation with himself. The audience could clearly see his lips moving.

I've only seen Tomb in its entirety, and a few random bits of other stories. My choices are Foe of the Planet, Brain Thief, Cobwebs of Scariness, Beneath the Sea Threat, or Those Who Seek Dominion. Of those I wouldn't choose the last two. Cobwebs of Scariness is a personal favourite on atmosphere alone but Brain Thief does have Zoe clinging to the time machine's console so I'm conflicted. Not the last two though.

Exactly, it's just a case of how much the sharers want to stick their heads above the battlements before they get them shot off.

Forum's for sharing, not excluding. Just saying.
And I agree with you completely but given the current circumstances it pays to be cautious. I tried sharing the normal way so everyone could get the goods and Big Brother terminated that with prejudice. I don't even think the second one was up for more than a few minutes before it was killed. So you must understand my reluctance to share with every Tom, Dick, and Harriet that comes a-calling, any one of which could be one of Big Brother's Kill Bots in disguise.

I finally started listening to the latest Mrs. Medic Journals and have to say that I'm somewhat disappointed. The one with 7 was ok, not great but serviceable, while the second one was a just real downer all around. I know 6 makes an appearance in the next one but I'm going to hazard a guess that it's just going to drive home my opinion that much like the Edwardian Adventuress Melody just work better as a companion than as a solo character. Her appearances in the 8th Medic series help to illustrate that point. I've enjoyed those but two series in I really haven't thought much of her standalone adventures.

Hello. I am trying to complete my collection of TV Comic strips and need three Fourth Doctor strips. If anyone can assist, I would be very grateful.

The Wanderers (TV Comic 1404-1408)
The Metal Eaters (TV Comic 1409-1415)
Moon Exploration (TV Comic 1416-1423)

Whole issues of the magazine would be nice, but even just the strips by themselves would be great. Thanks.

Looking at the issues available on VK it seems that those titles were originally third medic stories so I'm guessing that they were reprinted with the fourth medic's head superimposed over three. I know that happened a lot with TV Comic. It is possible that the versions you have are third medic.

Another walk around the cove this morning, the sun was coming up and and i was so captivated by the image of the celestial object just shining through the trees ; unfortunately i wasn't watching where i was going and i tripped. Fell right over . Oh well the walk was good for my heart man, and in the moments preceding the tumble i managed to brace myself. What a great morning.

Is there a list somewhere of Doctor Who audio stories that feature the Daleks? I have a few of the early Big Finish adventures but I'm sure there must be a lot more of them out there that I have missed over the years. Can anybody point me in the right direction? I'd like to work on collecting the Dalek stories but I'd need to know what titles to search for.

Also, I shouldn't have to type this, but just in case: do not use whatever is on that page.

While I know that he was in hundreds of films/projects, I was truly enjoying his recent BattleMedic audios.
Just the right mix of gruff exhaustion and resolute good-nature.
Jaded, yet refusing to give up.
Untrusting, yet full of trust.
Terse, yet gentle.
And that crusty, yet honeyed voice...

Making this a Medic What weekend.

Listened to most of the "Educator Water Tune" adventures (3 out of 4) - alright thus far. Interesting anyway.

Watched animated 2nd Medic "Alternating Current of the Peppots" (B/W version) - a mixed bag there. I will say the p'pots DO come across quite eerily in animated form. Something about their perfectly smooth motion. Otherwise, the human movements were rudimentary/
I must praise some of the shots, transisions and staging, which were quite interesting in places. I wonder if they were set up shot-for-shot to the telesnaps from the episodes.

Currently watching H3@V3N S3NT / H3LL B3NT (which, I confess to loving, despite their MANY obvious problems).

I was planning on watching DAY of the Medic to commemorate John Hurt, but I will instead do a marathon of his films at a later date (1984, Caligula, V for Vendetta and Day of the Medic, among others).

I hope you all are having a good weekend.

cheers.
