I only had 2.1, 2.2, 2.6, 3.1, 3.2 and 3.4 in the series, so very happy to get some of series 1, and looking forward to maybe filling a few more gaps!

For info, these are AlbumWrapped - if anyone wants to un-wrap them back into the individual tracks, I recommend the free software, Alba Extractor - the latest version (0.4-dev, which I use) is available here (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Other-AUDIO-Tools/Alba-Extractor.shtml). Just drag-drop the Albumwrapped file into it, click 'Extract' and point to the folder you want it extracted to. When it's extracted, click the 'Clear' button and you're ready for the next one.

Well, I've been pouring over pages in this thread, but I can't seem to find an answer to a question that someone posted many pages back. Does anyone know if there have been any posts made for Doctor Who Magazine beyond issue #437? I probably missed it as a result of this migraine which has been kicking my @$$ all day. Many thanks to anyone who can provide me with an answer.

Nope. No new mags since last summer. :'( But posting them does tend to get us in trouble and noticed (the mags were how the DW thread got removed from the last place we were at).

Speaking of mags, still hoping someone has the remaining antique TV Comic scans (so close to being complete!--just a handful of Hartnell, Troughton and T. Baker pages left), pretty much all of DW Adventures magazine (only one Heather McCrimmon strip ever made it on the web) and the remaining Tennant BIT strip (though some of those desperately need to be rescanned--the ones I had to try to pull out of the .pdfs are pretty horrendous) and most of the Smith strips.

Note that entire issues of TV Comic, TV Action, etc... are available in torrents on the Green Imp, though there are a bunch of DW pages not in there that were made available elsewhere.

A few random comments.

First off, that MxAxRxY story was part of the regular monthly release that month. It was one of those releases with 4 one-parters. They later made that one story available as a cheap download to try to entice sales when she became a regular companion in the main range mini-season.

As for the Experience, I went to the London version last year. In fact, it was one of the main reasons for my London stop on the way to Scandinavia. It's a total geek dream come true.

Unfrotunately, the London version didn't have Bessie, but she was a part of the Doctor Who USA tour that happened way back in the 80's. In fact, because I was one of the volunteers working at the enhibition (on behalf of our fan club), they treated us to an actual ride in Bessie! One of the coolest volunteer perks ever!

While I don't agree with the Shrine holding the site to ransom in the way they did, preventing access for everyone until enough money was raised to pay their bills, as the owner of several websites, I can understand why they did it.

Of course, all my sites cost a LOT less than $1,500 per month - maybe the Shrine needs to get a new host...?

Agreed, Jamdoggy. Unfortunately, I don't have much in the way of funds, otherwise I'd gladly donate to this fine site. I've gotten many a soundtrack from here. Some of them are REALLY hard to get or are out of print, like the Club Nintendo stuff or the "Farscape Classics" albums from La La Land Records. Not to mention keeping up with the output from Large Conclusion. :) Speaking of which...

So gutted about Mary Tamm, if the so called 'Classic' series didnt have such great actors like Mary, Caroline John, Lis Sladen & Nick Courtney I wouldnt be half as keen on 'New' Who. It's its great history that helps to make it so loveable today- just my opinion. R.I.P. all those who have left us. Nonsense, Revan was 1 of the few hardcovers I bought and I did not regret it 1 bit. It was 1 of the most worthwhile books to buy. And many held it in high regard.

And TFN is a good forum for discussions and all that, but downloads like here can be found at an other better place. I PMed you about it Who Lover.

Maybe we should sue the 'industry groups' for their illegal attempts to disrupt a legitimate service for many people. Struggling musical artists rely on sites like the impish one to get their music out to a wider audience...

It would be nice if a multi-million dollar lawsuit could be ploughed back into the site, to allow a larger staff to keep it running... ;)

Even though I can't stand Culshaw, this is brilliant. Thanks! Pretty good quality for what, I assume, is an audience recording?

Did you go? How do they do it? All stood round microphones or is it more 'theatrical' ?

It was a great night - worked really well as a live show. They stood reading from the script, the effects were performed live and 'The Book' sits in a nice comfy chair (so a little bit of theatre!). There was also a live band. They had a large screen showing stuff too - lyrics for songs (share and enjoy!) and little sequences that illustrated the book. A few days after the gig they put the shows up for purchase - but only for 7 days! So you can't get them now. This is show I saw so I got it - only a tenner. Money well spent if you ask me.
Apart from the 2 people I went with I dont know anybody else who has heard about it let alone gone and seen it!

Minimoog, If I was in the right country and I've been there to see it in a shot. I didn't learn about it till a few weeks ago :/

It was a great night - worked really well as a live show. They stood reading from the script, the effects were performed live and 'The Book' sits in a nice comfy chair (so a little bit of theatre!). There was also a live band. They had a large screen showing stuff too - lyrics for songs (share and enjoy!) and little sequences that illustrated the book. A few days after the gig they put the shows up for purchase - but only for 7 days! So you can't get them now. This is show I saw so I got it - only a tenner. Money well spent if you ask me.
Apart from the 2 people I went with I dont know anybody else who has heard about it let alone gone and seen it!

Really enjoyed that - hadn't realised they were selling the various showings so will have to keep an eye out for others.

(Seriously, the only down side for me on this one is with Culshaw and missing his cues all the time and slipping into his so-called impressions.)

Yes, having trouble with megashare, seems to be caught in an endless loop for me too.

well at least it's not my usual ineptitude

it works fine if you use jdownloader usually. Just copy the link and jdownloader retrieves it from your copy cache.

I did it fine this time by rightmouseclick + download with interdownloadmanager

jdownloader is free (the newer versions seem to have some advertising built in that you have to weed out during installation) and internetdownloadmanager you have to pay for or steal.

Seriously.

browsers suck for downloading through.

besides, megashares cuts you off after 550 megs, locks you out for two hours, and if you don't have a download manager of some sort, after which you can't restart the download if you're using a browser.

Or you could just use a premium link generator.

I'm looking for the best quality I can get.
For example, I've found good quality versions of Web of Fear and the Savages but can only find poorish copies of most of the others.
As the DVD releases of the complete stories are almost finished, I'm looking to fill the gaps on my bookshelves.

Thats silly what are you doing. They are zipped folders of mp3's. Once you enter the pw and unzip them to file theres no need to enter it ever again. They will play pw free as much as you want...

Indeed there seems to be a big gap in the narrative due to the BBC not being fully sure of how they wanted to develop the character of doctor who until his second, and even third incarnation where we learn the master is an old school mate of the doctor or even the 10th incarnation when we learn of the whole timelord conspiracy behind the master. It does get swirled around wibblywobblytimeywimey. Your right theres certainly is need for more writing from the bbc or big finish to fill it in. One can start with this book NA60 - Lungbarrow (Marc Platt) though. Its an excellent account of the doctor and his family at the beginning. Some fans think it gives away too much though. Also 3.06 The First Sontarans the current lost story might add to sontaran history. I have always gotten the feeling that the doctors first incarnation wasn't his first by any means. It adds to the mystery like in the books during his eight incarnation when the doctor comes across his own body being auctioned off to the highest bidder only to stop it and burry it himself leaving us with the paradox of knowing how he dies and wondering if it happened. The doctors whole life and enemies seems to be paradox with in paradox.

They've done that with at least one so far. The First Wave tells the story of the first time the Doctor meets the Vardans. They were featured in The Invasion of Time.

I have been trying for days to download the new C Cron from Megashares with no joy. I've also tried using download helpers (such as Flashget), but it makes no difference. It just gets suck in a loop. I use real-debrid.fr it supports twice as many download sites as rapid8.com although i don't know why some of you are having download problems. Its not that hard just fallow the link click on regular downloads then scroll down enter the number and click on reactivate passport. Once thats done you can click the download file button or copy your link out of your browser into any download manager and let it download up to 550mb then you will have to pause your download then go reactivate your passport again unfortunately it does make you wait a bit but if you have a dynamic ip you can just reset it, reactivate your passport and continue downloading.

I have at times had the reactivation of passport bit, but all that does is allow the loop to continue. There is something very wrong with Megashares. Too many people cannot access it. I even tried to become a member, and couldn't log on! A big thank you to the people on this site though. It's now my only way to get these goodies with the loss of the impish site.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't there many other sites which provide the same services as our fallen imp? I mean they were only a database of links not the actual provider of the content. I do believe such originators could simply switch to a new site. I think we all know at least one prominent member of this very thread who has mentioned setting up, maintaining, and expanding his content. I think we'll find this to be a minor road bump at best. Which is good because BF is trying to bankrupt me.

I'm under the impression that nothing has been said - the trailer says "Autumn" but autumn is a moveable feast as far as TV schedulers are concerned.

Given they have to fit 13 episodes of Merlin into the Saturday night schedule before xmas as well, and they're showing a preview of Asylum of the Daleks to an audience at the NFT next week (and then also at the Edinburgh Television Festival a week after), my guess would be that it starts on August Bank Holiday weekend or the week after.
(Which is the same time that "Let's Kill Hitler" was shown last year)

Yeah, Who is coming back in only a few weeks. Smith said the end of August and BBC America are already doing their usual ramp up with weekly specials on Saturday nights.

I would think it would be somewhere in september or october although i have a feeling there might be a mini episode in there somewhere again this year....

Oh, well I'm new to Big Finish... And Remembrance was incredible, so... I may be slightly biased.

Yeah, sorry. IMHO ... telegraphed plots that were too exposition heavy, bored performances, terrible (by their normally VERY high standards) sound design and music, and a 'going through the motions' feel about the whole thing. Just no LIFE to it all.

The UNIT series, by comparison, has the same cliched characters with some plots that are equally as telegraphed, but the whole thing has a real feeling of excitement and energy to it that gets you and pulls you along.

Maybe it's not a fair comparison to make, but CM definitely feels like a 1/5 where-as UNIT was a 4/5

On the whole I was left with a feeling of "BF really want to do Quatermass or The Avengers, don't they?"

But, you never know, maybe it'll be a 'grower' and S2 will have better direction and over-all feel. Fingers crossed. It's rare that they really drop the ball on something so a 'bad apple' really does stand-out pretty harshly.

I listened to CM and didnt get through the first ep...not a good. sign.....

meanwhile the last 3 months of the main range ;lost stories; and CCs have been amazing and among some of the best stories BF have done...

The crimson horror is a rumor too so its probabily not the final name. I just used what i could find on the net as of 8/10/12. I was laughing at that guy for posting season 8 names on youtube as well but theres nothing proving his season 7 names wrong yet and he did start off with the right ones. Rest assured when we get more info ill update that episode list. Moffat's doing a good job of secracy i will say that. I remember back in the Davies years we'd have alot more info to go on this close to the new season.

There in ipod audiobook format. You can play them with itunes and convert them to mp3 as well. I like that format because you can save higher quality audio in smaller file sizes.

Does anyone know where to get the BxExNxNxY SxFxIxExLxD releases from season 9 onwards? They are not in either of the Megacollection or AV spinoff torrents. The only still active torrent available elsewhere only goes up to S8.

Thanks... but I checked the lengths and it seems that I have the same files as in the Audio Video Collection Torrent, *and* when I compared the run times they add up to the same run time as the one you have... is the bad episode supposed to be shorter in run time than the good one?

It may say it has the same length (the length is correct, but there's a skip of missing information where it pops ahead past the missing chunk), but if you try to put it through any converter (say, dBpoweramp, which I heartily recommend), the incomplete one will tell you that the file is corrupt. This one you can convert to your heart's content. You'll notice that the skip isn't there. This file is from this site. I deleted all the faulty ones from my computer long ago. ;)

From what I'm aware, the Green Imp .m4b files were converted from a number of albumwrap files, which were an absolute pain in the arse that I gave up on attempting to extract or convert myself. Several of those albumwrap files were really corrupt. At least dBpoweramp can deal with .m4b files (you need to download all the file type plug-ins--this is freely accessible on their site--you can get the cracked program from the PBay).

"TNightFair" is the one you want, and it's the very first story for BF's "Lost Stories" range. I honestly don't listen to the CCs all that much. I prefer the stuff with a full cast.

Hollywood wants its return payment for all of their donations this year--and they don't care if they don't have PIPA, ACTA and SOPA to do it. In fact, this could even be partly retribution for the world's outcry over that legislation.

In fact, not getting their precious legislation has just caused them to get more pissy about censoring the Internet. Really, if you couldn't use anything with a copyright, YouTube, Fanfiction.net and Tumblr (fangirls wouldn't be able to post picspams and animated .gifs! fanfiction would be gone after for being illegal!) would cease to exist overnight. Can you imagine an Internet without even copyrighted images, much less video and music, all over the place? The Internet would head straight back to the '90s (except without the Geocities fansites full of scanned and bad VHS rip pictures) if they had their way.

Taking down MegaU and the poor Green Imp have put them in a gloating mood. This is probably Google handing out a cookie to them to get them off their back. Google being untouchably stinkin' rich is the only thing keeping YouTube alive.

yeah the one they produced this year added both of them to the mix as well as John Culshaw from Dead ringers... which wouldn't mean anything to americans anyway. And i believe the woman who played the head of Torchwood in Army of Ghost was in the one about the Women of Doctor Who. --- it is still petty much focused on the new series but this time isn't as 11th Doctor centric...

The Moffat/Smith-oriented BBCA specials were driving me up a wall. If you thought these were bad, the previous ones were beyond phobic about letting you even know the show didn't start with Matt. Showing Tennant and Eccleston (not to mention pictures of Pertwee and T. Baker--plus Davison as one of the guest commentators!) was the closest they've ever come to acknowledging that there was a show before. The Science of DW actually shocked me that they spent that much time discussing Tennant stories, because the other specials went out of their way to not acknowledge even him. The Best of the Companions/Doctor ones were ridiculously lame. Whoever came up with BBCA's prior directive that all previous eras be completely avoided was probably the same people who came up with the idea that series 5-6/seasons 31-32 were actually series 1-2 (it really didn't take off among anyone).

It probably wouldn't have irked me so much if the last dying gasps of DW Confidential also were also only acknowledging Moffat/Smith Who, whereas the RTD era seemed to have Classic Who clips or multi-Doc music videos in practically every Confidential (RTD and Tennant repeatedly gushed over Classic Who in Confidential). Moffat's disastrously failed Confidential (race cars and sharks!) only had a single ep. that acknowledged the show's history--and it was the one that Neil Gaiman seemed to have taken over and the only one that felt like what Confidential used to be.

I will give credit to Moffat for actually mentioning that the sonic screwdriver originated in Fury from the Deep in The Science of DW--I was actually shocked to hear that after seeing his era of Confidential. Ditto with the fact that a celebrity commentator was allowed to say that he had a Tom Baker sonic screwdriver replica at home (I was actually surprised that the comment wasn't cut).

Hopefully, BBCA will have the guts to actually show a Classic Who clip sometime.

Appreciate anyone who could do that!

Whilst trying to get to this page today I was given a warning that the site had been blocked because of suspicious activity. When I went to the page that explains why it said that at no time in the last 90 days did Google ever encounter any malicious software and no on else reported anything either. W T F

Happened to me to ive had it happen at several other sites too but it never meant much of anything. well at least nothing ever happened and all those sites are still going strong. Fortunately if you use safari you can go to preferences/security and uncheck the warn when visiting a fraudulent website box and it will stop bothering you.

Do you mean skips in the audio? Audio left out? Or the download cuts out? Sorry sometimes i need a little help interpreting...........

when i follow the url it takes me to the site and for about 3 seconds there are options and then the "Whoopsidaisies He was climbing the wall, but he fell down " page comes up, i can go back and select download if i'm quick but the it flips back to the "Whoopsidaisies" message and download shows as interupted, resume fails. It's a message on the page, not a euphamism.

Sorry ive never seen what you mention on that site so I didnt know. Anyway ive linked straight to the download now so try again. It shouldn't take you anywhere now it should just start the download.

google jdownloader that will help you alot. It knows how to deal with most of these site automatically and it will ask for anything it needs. Plus if you use firefox you can install the flashgot plugin and send links directly from your web browser to jdownloader.
