A request, if I could.. I am looking for the Journal of Old Mill Stream, the one that LC put out. But, here's the catch.. I have downloaded from two sites, and both were in M4A, but when I go to play them on my SANSA Zip Clip, I am getting a root error. Does anyone have them in mp3 format? I am not sure if there was something inherently wrong with the way it was copied, but I couldn't get it to play. Any help would be super greatly appreciated.

I've done it. As I said it is impractical. Even if we had a "member" list, what about those who come here infrequently? I only suggest PMs for a little while. We don't want to discourage sharing.

I don't really have invites to anything which isn't already open signups/interviews. (Well, except for one but they - BibIiotik - disabled user invite sending). Most of the top tier sites have clammed up really hard in recent years and are making it impossible for users to send invites (for example BTN where only the top user classes can send invites and they can only 'buy' invites in an auction for tens of millions of points). Instead they tend to do 'official recruitment' where they go onto trackers like what.cd and allow the power users and sometimes only the elite users to sign up to their sites. In terms of TV, there's really only 3 major players standing: BTN, MTV and freshon (which recently suffered a scandal and a database wipe).

I think PTs are better for music and books than for movies/tv/audiobooks. In the latter case the public ones like ABB have more than the private ones (although the seeding is sometimes iffy.)

I'm pretty sure that mega links aren't indexed by google at all. There are no mega search engines that I'm aware of which haven't been shut down and I'm pretty sure that if private files were shared there would be a scandal if people's belongings got leaked. Moreover, people can't download without the key in the url (leading to more than a few decryption errors.)

They could have hacked mega and found the links or bruteforced the links which is unlikely. More than likely either someone lurking reported the links or the file was reposted somewhere which was then found and reported.

But no, it's really unlikely to be someone who's posting to be them because anyone on google can randomly register an account and find the link. Indeed, I never asked anyone here for advice on how to undergo revelation, I found that out through google too so it's quite possible that it's not what you're thinking. ;_;

What would be bad if the shrine was taken because they have our deets. But still, unlikely to be trouble because there don't have unlimited money required/time. And for the hypothetical them they should go after ABB swarms because of the IPs make it much easier than Shrine to find + notify first.

Furthermore we don't really know. The hypothetical them are known to run automated bots which go through google & notify based on keywords which might not even be relevant. Ergo it might not even be a person - however in this case due to the nature of the revelations google doesn't tend to see and also the timing itself suggested an active participant.

That being said, there is discussions on sites such as 4chin where they have a lot of threads dedicated to the 'listening' of musics, for example, where many are convinced due to Kim .com (site's owners) (paraphrased by me) words that 'it [the site] is no longer his and should not be trusted' to mean that it is owned by the hypothetical them's enforcers to find people who the them can pursue.

What generally doesn't happen is that spies descend from the ceiling on bungee cords, smash up the whole place and drag the guys at the punch bowl off to Guantanamo Bay. That doesn't really happen.

What does happen is that obviously named files get noticed, and unobviously named files get shared and then, like a night out in old South America, they disappear.

After all, she hasn't done anything with the character (other than conventions) for years, and only just returned to the role in their audios. But doing the audios only takes up a few days a year. And it's still money. So why decide so decisively to stop playing the role now, just as the audios are becoming a success? I wonder if saying that she wants to retire from the role is a subtle way of saying that she didn't want to work with them again. After all, it's not likely that she would be playing the role with any other company any time soon. The show is pretty definitively dead. And this company has exclusive rights to audios. And even if the Beeb wanted to air some audios on their radio stations, they could always just buy the rights to the ones already made by the audio company for a lot less money (or even for free as past of a contract renegotiation.)

This really knocks the wind out of the TW audio series, since her character was always the heart of the series. And they were building her character up as the one bringing them back in the modern day.

it may have to do with producers and director's still thinking she is associated with the role...on the visual side. Other actors have said the same things about their roles in other media where they seem to get typecast and only seen as that character. She may be up for a long term role elsewhere and wanted the directors and producers to see that she was not holding out for a TW return... Barrowman said almost the same thing a year or so back.

I'm pretty usenet is paid but if I'm desperate for something off it I'd probably request that someone gets it off me because there's a few people (who might or might not be inactive) who take requests on private trackers because they have a sub.

McLevy is an 11 season audio drama starring Brian Cox & Siobhan Redmond ("the Ronnie"!!). It is easily in one of my top ten favorite bbc audio productions of all time. (Along with "Nebulous" which is a quatermass/medic parody sorta thing i Highly recommend!) Anyways, I missed the last episode of this most recent season due to my computer giving me the blue screen of death, and due to the beeb's phone app having horrible issues.

Well jlatx I haven't used newsgroups for quite a while, since I retired I don't have the money to pay for such things and the free stuff was just a waste of time.

I used to get a lot of stuff off something called C++ but I think it was on what they call the dark web now. You needed to be invited to a group to find anything useful and others got access to the shared files on your hard drive ,which could be a bit scary if you think about it. McLevy is an 11 season audio drama starring Brian Cox & Siobhan Redmond ("the Ronnie"!!). It is easily in one of my top ten favorite bbc audio productions of all time. (Along with "Nebulous" which is a quatermass/medic parody sorta thing i Highly recommend!) Anyways, I missed the last episode of this most recent season due to my computer giving me the blue screen of death, and due to the beeb's phone app having horrible issues.

FTP servers that down load torrents for you to a private server and then give you a file locker like link to download the media onto your hard drive. It's called a torrent proxy I think. Now if you're smart, you've already figured out what I'm going to say next, but just to be helpful to the dimmer bulbs, furk is not a file locker, you can't share files "conventionally" like with mega or sendspace... But once someone has torrent proxied a torrent onto their server it's cached (filed, indexed and backed up). So if you ask Furk to download the same torrent to their server that I already asked it to download to their server 20 minutes ago, it won't. They'll just use the information stored to the cached already and then instantly hand over the new low rez Teeth and Curls medic that is a torrent on ABB.

If you go here (https://woodygems.wordpress.com/2013/07/04/how-to-download-for-offline-playing-bbc-tv-or-radio-iplayer-programmes-using-get_iplayer-an-alternative-to-radio-downloader/)and follow the instructions it is quite quick and easy to down load permanent copies in mp4 or mp3.

It looks a bit daunting at first but basically what you do is download "get_iPlayer and the stuff that comes with it. Install and then

1] Run "Web PVR Manager" from the program folder.

2] When that stops run "Get _iPlayer"

(Best to create links to these on the desktop if you are going to do a lot of downloading.)

This will open in your web browser.

3] Tick Radio or TV box and in Channels Containing box put "^BBC Radio 4 Extra$" without quotes (or what ever station you want)

Click apply Settings button and a list of all available programs on that station will come up.

Easy way - Open program you want to record in another tab, Copy URL and past in Quick URL box and click record tab. Don't close new window till it stops recording.

In sound settings you need to set Stereo Mix as default recording device.
In Audacity check that MME is set as Audio Host and Stereo mix as Recording Device in the boxes above the main window.

You may need to do some other settings to enable Stereo Mix on your sound card depending on what you are using. It may take some google research to find out how.

I'll going have to play around with it for awhile (no pun intended for wexy EM.

I used to be able record on line from the B and anywhere else with a free system I believe was called "Freeware". But it and it's website got corrupted with malware. I recently visited where I think it is again and everything been changed so if it's basically the same thing and ok, I'll give it another try.
It was such a simple piece of software to work with to, even I had no problem with it. It even had a pause button that would allow me to do some editing.

My strategy that has got me through meeting Five/Six/Seven and Ten has been to focus on how impressed my friend will be when they see who I've met.

Actually, I'm quite envious (well...not envious, exactly... moreso happy for YOU).

If I was only as in-tune with my WHOness back in the '80's when watching on PBS in NY.
When the 25th anniversary was going on, they had SEVEN and TWO doing interviews and good-will appearances during the pledge-drives at my local PBS station.

Had I ANY inkling as to how much I'd come to love the Medic, I'd have driven down to meet them. TWO especially!
But alas, I had only seen FOUR (and loved those) but not many more were forthcoming, and MEDIC WHAT drifted out of my perception.
(I did pledge funds during that drive and got a MEDIC WHAT mug - a black plastic mug with silver printed Medic Logo. - I kept it for many years, but eventually sold it on eBay around 1998 or so. A decision I regret deeply.)

I could still see EIGHT when he comes to Long Island, NY next (can't believe I've missed him twice), but still... to have seen TWO would have been wonderful.

So anyone listened to the 2nd battle medic set? Any good? Not even sure if i remember finishing the first set. Seemed pretty lackluster to me, which is a shame as i absolutely adore JH. I'm struggling to remember the 1st doom box as well, even though 8th is fav. Hoping this one is better. Lately its the medic stuff ive been disappointed in. While franken, prisoner, revengers, and others seem to be quite the delightful surprise. And Karrnacci the spirit hunter was entirely perfect. Opinions while we wait for this month's new goodies to be released?

And Battle Medic is much improved on the first, and great to hear President of the Federation taking a lead role in this series.
I agree that the recent medic range is pretty lacklustre - Personally, I think LC has too little butter to spread over it's 'loaf of monopoly", and the main range is quite tired , and that the heyday of 'PareSparts', 'Davro5', 'Mastre', 'Boobilee' etc. are long gone.

I've been THOROUGHLY enjoying the exploits of the Victorian Gentlemen (started with "...and a Potatohead") and then went back to the start of Series 1 (then dipping back to their exploits with SIXIE when it came around).

I'm about to begin Series 7, but find that I have every series EXCEPT 09.

I have a non-Medic question - I have an audible file I would like coverted to it doesn't sit in an Audible file on my iPod - what's the best way to do this?
I'd also like to keep the chapters on it...

It's by an author whose last name starts with a V and sounds like Fax (but isn't spelled that way)...

Agreed. However, I also liked the alternate First Medic stories in that range that were written by Marc Platt. But Warner definitely feels like a Medic we never had, but should've. And Sam Kisgart is wonderful as the Master as well, playing it with the same intense insanity that John Simm brought to it, but in a kind of understated way.

Count me excited also.
