Yeah. I tried it in a couple browsers but didn't see any link pop up.

There is a grey field where you can put in as many as ten links at once.

Cut and paste into that.

Tap the Orange Rectangle button, down to the left, called "download" with your mouse.

scroll down.

the file name is there which is a link in green text that... Oh.

"Our rapidgator account is invalid".

It seems that 40 of us trying to download all that Medic on Rapidgator broke their account?

I was using their Uploaded generator for another project I had had on my back burner for quite some time, yesterday and it worked fine.

I tried a different rapidgator link from somewhere completely else different to the same result, but uploaded still works. I'm downloading last nights Conan right now and it's speddy and fine.

After you you get to the green text link, open from there in a new tab, which will take you to a linkbucks link shortener, which will take you to a bc.vc link shortener, which will take you to an adfly link shortener, which will then take you to the premium link. In the right hand corner at each stage of this ODYSSEY after a counter has ticked down 5 to 10 seconds, it will ask you if you want to go to the page you actually want to already be at.

Sigh.

Maybe their rapidgator account will come back tomorrow?

Maybe we killed it.

The m4b that dwst4 posted has the same 2 minute (only) interview that's on the MyFreemp3 version. Additionally, the m4b also has 9 minutes of music following the interview, music that isn't on the MyFreemp3 version. Having the music at the end helps to convince me that the interview segment is legitimately ended, and hasn't been cut off prematurely by the uploader.

Perhaps I'm not a true fan. I don't spend time picking faults in this series. Nor do I grump about PC's characterization of the Doctor. Nor do I complain about another plot involving the companion (better than them saying, "What's that Doctor"). But I have really enjoyed this series and the game-changer in tonight's episode. This is REALLY going to divide fandom for many years. And it is nice to see 12 episodes all at once. Been a while since last time we had that. [Although 13 would be better... :-) ]
Does anyone know when the last ep is broadcast UK time? Started 6.15 - 7.05 here in Australia. With 1 hour, I'm hoping it will be slightly earlier (after Strictly Come Dancing UK).

---------- Post added at 07:12 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:09 AM ----------

I would assume that everyone here would be watching the episode first, then checking on the forums after. I can do the spoiler box if you like, but can't see the point.

Has she changed her clothes?

It's been weeks, maybe months... Oh. It's been almost centuries since we saw her collecting the dead in Breathless, and MIssy has been in 20 pounds of corset the whole time. Anthony's Master I feel wore a standard leisure suit that was kept in the wardrobe department at the BBC.

Either Missy is filthy, absolutely grotty, she has hundreds of identical costumes, she does her own laundry, she has a paradox wardrobe or she's been planning this masterplan and facilitating this masterplan (yes, mistressplan, shut up.) for maybe only a couple hours and been skipping the dull bits (decades at a stretch) where nothing happens with her time machine.

Oh.

When she gave Clara the phone number, was Clara a little dense, or was Missy wearing "modern" accoutrements?

Did the Phone on the front even work before YANA "borrowed" the TARDIS?

Maybe that's why it has to be on the shell?

It's not really part of the TARDIS, it's a trap super-glued to the side.

Just in case somebody hasn't seen the lastest yet...

Well the TLord regen into TLady has been a rumor for so long that i figure they just HAD to try it on someone but didn't dare try it on the medic (yet!). I can imagine that a lot of people probably have opinions on that. as for the Kiss? well i think that there's probably centuries of built up sexual tension between the 2, at least on M's part. "I love it when you call me Master!" he once said, not to mention he had him in a cage for a while... who knew he was into SM? Now with age, he's just getting more conventional and he became a timelady. end of story. Then again i thought they reconciled last time when they both died and decided to hate timelords together...

But I do have questions, questions, questions...

what brings more questions to my mind is the homeworld tech. where the hell did he keep it? did he have a tardis change through a chameleon arch? Oh and since anybody can just snap their fingers to open up the dang doors why was everybody so worried about they keys?

But I absolutely love that 12 is warming up to his companion and the human race in general. PC is a great actor and definitely knows how to deliver those high emotion speaches: "Did you think I cared so little for you that betrayal would change something?" Brilliant!

Not to be argumentative, but are we to asume that Clara drives around on her motorcycle with a blueboxkey? Can't recall the medic ever giving her one. But I guess that works. Probably shouldn't read too much into it either I guess because clearly a LOT of people have been able to get into the box without a key. Kinda like the HADS or the temporal grace... it's as strong or as weak as you need it to be according to the story :)

One question though, regarding Pt.3 E11 of the big F guy, that was the last file of the last part, but it had a strange ending. Dialog just faded off and then there was about a minute left in the file of just silence.

No final story epilog or even end music outro.

Was that what you had too and everyone else? It just sounds like another file or something was missing to complete the finale.

Just curious.

Been reading a lot of reviews on other sites about Missy's big reveal and the general consensus seems to be overwhelmingly negative. Most seem to dismiss it as a poorly concocted gimmick by the Moff in order to pave the way for a female Medic in the future. Others feel that Moff decided to turn the Master into a woman simply for a cheap shock and for the "look how clever I am" effect. Still others think that Moff simply couldn't think of any other way to bring the Master back, so he settled for the cheap and overused bait and switch. I'm reserving my own final judgment until I see how next week's final plays out.

Thanks dwst for your great double feature.

I haven't listened to it yet. All the files regarding F that I got from LC I uploaded.

Question to all! At what age did you become a grumpy old man/woman?

I only ask because I was well known for being one of the most laid back persons around but now everything pisses me me off! It's only a matter of time before I stop biting my tongue and go on a rant.

Already started telling family and bosses where to get off. Normally ends up with me winning the argument and walking away saying quite loudly, "Prick!".

Only asking....:p

I'm a true fan, and I agree with you. Been enjoying it.

I used to be pretty laid back too.

I think this happened when I turned 40, for no damn reason.

Maybe it's hormonal!

to add insult to injury for an already pathetic season that features a worthless storyline that involves clara and danny Stink, moffat has destroyed the master. not to mention that peter capaldi has already been limited in his role by the inane writing, some of which is kid-oriented a la the Sarah Jane Adventures. the stories thus far have equalled the past few ones on BF, definitely not worth the bother.

I come from a world where critiquing things I love is a major source of entertainment among my friends and I. Being able to just watch things and then that is the end of it is, from our view, a sign of our lack of interest in the material.

As for the "Popular Opinion" being that the big reveal was bad, I agree with them wholeheartedly - not because I am a lemming - but because it was an opportunity to expand beyond the old "Daleks, Cybermen, Master, Autons" range.

Tbh, it's easy enough to convert between the two and only takes a few minutes. There are plenty of free programs that'll do it.

Yes, but usually both versions are posted between here and "that other place" or torrents or the like. So, I'd rather just get the actual version I want. And every time you convert a file, you're losing some quality. There's no point for me in getting proprietary files only meant to be used on products from a company whose products I don't buy and are not meant for my computer when I can get files that are universal. (Not trying to get into the system/OS wars here. I just don't need files not for my system/OS or my mp3 players!)

---------- Post added at 12:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:47 AM ----------

Maybe a little, but we're getting them for nothing so really beggars can't be choosers.

No one is begging or asking for any particular type of file. We're just asking that you tell us which format you're posting in.

For better or for worse, m4b is not a universal format. It is only meant for Appel products and Appel software. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But some of us prefer a more universal format. If you're going to post in that proprietary format, fine, but I'm kindly asking that you let us know. I didn't think that was an unreasonable request.

---------- Post added at 12:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:50 AM ----------

As to the Missy reveal, I'd figured it out after the premiere leaked as well, as had much of fandom. But I'd hoped that it wasn't the case. Not because I have any problem with the idea, as so much of fandom seems to, but because I thought that her acting particularly in that episode was WAY too over-the-top. I'd prefer more of the Delgado subtlety in this character than the Ainley mustache twirling. Then again, I have been enjoying LC's newest version of the character, so maybe she'll grow on me.

I didn't think that there was any chance of the Rah-Knee or Miss Dvoratrelundar, since it would hardly make the kind of season finale cliffhanger ending, when 95% of the audience wouldn't have any idea who she was supposed to be,

Maybe a little harsh? I agree that Danny is a useless xtra. have no idea what he's meant to bring to the whole deal. Could have easily done without. as far as PC, i found that as the series progresses, he's "becoming" more and more the medic. he's finally getting over his ptrd. it'll be interesting to see how it all ends this week

Never truer words spoken! There are incredible "old enemies" that could make a comeback. Some of these were exploited in BF. Unfortunately, it seems that we're held prisonners by an invisible rule that demands that every series has daleks, cybermen, the master (or a master light version, ie. GI). just happy that the autons haven't reared their ugly head again. could never get excited about them. i mean, killer pone cords and dafodils?? puh-lease! This was the tipical case of a real good opportunity missed.

Our biggest 'fear' for the finale on Saturday is that someone (Clara?) has been a Zygon all along ending up relying on clues that I suspect most of us have probably missed. (By which I mean I can't say I've seen any realistic discussion/supposition of such an idea.)

This past weeks episode made me realize how very tired of Clara I am. This is a character who has seen the ENTIRE life of the Medic, yet she is constantly being shocked or surprised by some thing he does or someone he meets.

You know who I want Clara to end up being?

Agreed. She hasn't been written well at all, really. Taken episodically the character is fine, but in terms of the series as a whole? Yeah, she's been inconsistent.

I can't recall if the script made her say anything really dirty, but since they hinted strongly that she was the lead characters mother (who had abandoned him as a baby) it's likely that Wheezie will be back.

Okay, I tried to be open-minded, but Missy being revealed to be the big 'M' was just the final straw! While I found John Simms' Master to be a bit over the top, I would still have preferred him returning instead of what Moff did! While I've said it before, I think this plot thread is the truest indication that Moff needs to go as Showrunner, that he has nothing original or interestingly creative to offer towards the show! And, Clara? While I find Jenna Coleman to be easy on the eyes, I am tired of her "Impossible Girl" story. She is a character who has outlived the notion! I know there were rumors floating about that this was her last season - how I were to wish that it were true!

I think I will be in the "Not Watching WHO" room at this weekend's Long Island Who convention in Long Island, NY, instead of the other room for the season ender..

BTW, does anyone know how to download audios embedded in here?

Doctor Who Expanded Universe (http://vk.com/wall-42102992?offset=0&own=1)

Have to say using Google Translate translates very weirdly. Cop this:

We are with you again! New episode was a very musical, perhaps even a little too much. But "Chandelier" and not found! Dubbed studio GladiolusTV translation and narration Wanker and TonMeister, and Komzolova and Dr. Wow Wow!

Nope. I don't make head nor tail of that!

Oh. Louise Jameson was on Toast of London the other night as an old whore playing blow foot ball for charity.

I can't recall if the script made her say anything really dirty, but since they hinted strongly that she was the lead characters mother (who had abandoned him as a baby) it's likely that Wheezie will be back.

Ooh, thanks for the heads-up. I didn't even know it was coming back for a 2nd season.

While I'm uncomfortable with the idea of a female Master (can't really explain why I'm uncomfortable but I am) I do feel that the character of Missy does fit rather well with the John Simms version of the Master (manic, wacky etc). So it wasn't such a jar and New Who gels rather well....

However.... I then remember the Classic Who portrayal of the master (Ainley, Delgado, Beevers and even Pratt) and it just does not fit. The characterisation is so different.

I'm hoping the new Big Finish Master will somehow be used to explain the change in behaviour so my ordered mind can be at peace again

nope this thread is not the indication the Moff needs to go as show runner... but your post even with the caveat at the beginning show that even though you say you do ..you don't have an open mind.

Sorry, Tagan&Sarah, but you are wrong (not trying to start war). I did go into 12Doc's first episode, "Peed HtaerB" without an prejudices, pre-conceived notions, etc. But, PC's portrayal of him reminded me of an Alzheimer's victim out in London on a weekend pass! The "insta-romance" with Clara and Danny Pink (really? What, Blue or Green were taken as surnames?) was just bad writing! Speaking of Clara, too, I think the "Impossible Girl" has run her course, let's bring on someone new and fresh. Maybe a male companion for the Doctor? And, I dunno, perhaps after 12 regenerations, and over a thousand years, the regen process would finally go more smoothly than it did. And, as far as Missy's big reveal.. Would it have been that much of a stretch of writing creativity to maybe introduce a new villain for the Doctor (tho' I am thankfully it wasn't another season ender involving the Pepperpots!)? *shakes his not-shaggy-anymore head*

Yeah I know, but perhaps they can have their pre-Jacobi Master go "crazy" so at least we can understand why there was such a massive personality shift to Simms (and the Jacobi Master was human for so long he'd kind of calmed down) - ok, I'm now going round and round in circles trying to fit this in. Head is about to explode....

I am not saying anything against or for your argument about the Master needing to be tied to the LC/CurrentEra series. I just want to say this;

Surely, he has exhibited many, many signs of being a nutjob at this point?

I mean, let's take a look at this track record;
- Disguised himself as a Circus master in order to help the Nestenes take over earth because .... BECAUSE.
- Attempted to instigate a nuclear war on Earth when he was still stranded there and would have thus been killed as well.
- Helped bring Axos to earth and more or less instantly fell under his control.
- Did the same thing with a devil instead of an alien.
- ... to keep this list manageable, Pretty much every scheme he concocted while looking like this

- To round it off, every time he allied himself with a Dalek or Cyberman and for some reason or other thought he had the upperhand.

Danny Pink*

All of the things you said aside, Surely you can appreciate the amazing racism that lies underneath a tortured black soldier named Danny Pink, who wears pink shirts all the time and dates a typical white girl. That is some BBC Top-Level equality in action.

Maybe something happened to the fob-watch while he was Jacobi, maybe it was what happened during the war changed him so much. I'm still kind of hoping that Missy isn't the Master - especially after that kiss.

On another note, I personally love Capaldi as the Doc and I think the main problem is the total difference between his character and Tennant/Smith. Smith just seemed to almost carry on from where Tennant left off so now in comes Capaldi with his non-PC personality and it's too much of a change for some people to handle.

I do agree that the Clara story-line has overstayed it's welcome and I think that the beginning of this series would have been a good time for a fresh start - new Doctor, new companion (to go along with the new Tardis and new crappy theme).

Well personally i'm such a medic-addict that i could never NOT watch the show. i'll gripe and complain about story lines and actors at times but never could i just ignore it. i do agree with a lot of what you said. the master has always been a manipulative, controlling AND classy nemesis. missy at least brings something back of that. never could get into the simms master. he felt like a really bad rendition of batman's joker. wished that some random unit soldier had just shot him in the head. i'm looking forward to the idiotic reason why he didn't die this time. going up against rassilon and living to tell about it is something. in the 5 medics, old rassilon said that he'd get his in time. i thought that battle was it.
as far as clara, well she's just all over the place isn't she? she's saved every medic at least once. she tucked him in bed after scaring the hell out of him as a child. she's been everything from a barmaid to a dalek. and we're all afraid she may be a Little more than she looks. i still think she should have gone when she took the trip into the pepperpot. could have tied in with her first appearance and ended there. Little soldier girl could have had possibilities as a companion i thought. not much more time to wait for the finale. i'm sure we'll all have lively opinions about that!

Even though TV canonized Large Conclusions, Large Conclusions is still legally not allowed to admit that anything happened in 2005 or has continued to happen since then because they don't have the correct licenses.
But that doesn't mean they didn't sneak the occasional reference past the radar. For example, in monthly #081 there's a throwaway reference to a "big-eared Northern chap" delivering a letter for Peri and Erimem along with King Richard sounding uncannily like Christopher Eccleston and even saying "Fantastic" at one point. Another reference is in "Klein's Story" from monthly #131. After Klein notices that Seven's changed the TARDIS console room and voices her disapproval, Seven dismissively replies that it was either that "or the leopard skin". I'm sure there's other little "Mythology Gags" (as TV Tropes calls them) like that, but those stick out the most in my mind.

EDIT: I completely forgot about this one, but the cover art for the CC "The Beginning" was also changed after the episode "The Name of the Doctor" aired. The undisguised TARDIS changed from what looked like a pyramid with the Seal of Rassilon on it to that tube-like thing we saw in the aforementioned episode. So it's not like they can't mention anything. It's just if they want it to line up with the stuff established from 2005 on, then they have to get approval from the BBC.

I haven't had much time of late to join in with recent topics of conversation; I even fell behind with the series.

Well I finely caught up with the conversation here and the current series just in time for tomorrow evenings finale, and I have to say I’ve enjoyed every episode of this series, though for me the weak link was episode seven, a very silly basic premise. Though on the whole the stories have been thought provoking, well written and well acted.

I know that PC as the medic has come under fire from some corners, we are all entitled to our opinion, but I find his take on the character quite thrilling. His rudeness is so refreshing, as is his aloof detachment. His 'ends justify the means' policy displayed in episode eight was shocking, but the following story served as a lesson to Clara that while we may not like the choices we make sometimes there just isn't an easy option to take.

I will admit to tiring of the impossible girl though, especially after her attempted hijack in last week’s brilliant episode. Maybe it's time for new blood in the TARDIS for series 9, though that hasn't detracted from our enjoyment of this series.

SM as show runner for series 9? ... yes I think he has more to give, while I don't like some of his writing I think on the whole he's pretty good at giving the viewing public what they want, after all if the show was relying on diehard fans for its viewing figures we wouldn’t have a show for very long, so in that respect SM serves us very well, though I think his sometimes over complicated story arcs may be his or the shows undoing. If he is to carry on I think he needs to ditch those, and to try and keep his writers in check as far as believability goes (episode 7).

Missy as the Master is pure bloody brilliance, Michelle Gomez is perfect in the role, her countenance and personage just screams megalomaniac. I hope to see much more of her in the future.

All in all a fine example of good British television drama.

Don't know if anyone is interested, or even cares, but I found some of the unofficial Bloke's 6+1 audios from the mid-nineties on myfreemp3.

If you like these you may also like this sequel series - Blokes Legacy: Restoration.
Only have the first 4 of the 6 episodes though...anyone have the rest? Plus a similar one-off audio Blokes Legacy by a different group.

CGCJ - I can't thank you enough for this!!1 I can't count the hundreds of times I've considered requesting this very thing. Either on this site, or even directly from LC. I'm surprised they haven't thought to compile and offer it themselves. I know they once released a handful of 8th main range stuff. But so many recent releases I have- either include the soundtrack in the single file, or simply don't have it at all. So thank you thank you THANK YOU!

Now I can reorganize the rest of my collection to stories and interviews only. :D Which will save me massive hard drive space!! My LC collection is so disorganized I feel I might have to delete and redownload tremendous chunks, which I've been meaning to do for ages. But now I have the correct reason too!! Really Super Thanks Again!

These are excellent. I bought these at the time. Unofficial they may be, but they feature members of the original cast, and many involved in these productions went on to the Kaldor City productions (is Iago really Avon?) and the music is still with us in today's Large Conclusions Blokes 6+1 releases - in fact I noticed a couple of phrases in this month's Curvy Sword!

I remember somehow stumbling across the unofficial Blokes audios a good ten years or more ago. Haven't listened to them since then, but I was favourably impressed. Certainly a lot more impressed than I was by the official beeb audio I heard around the same time. Blokes fans should definitely check them out.

Just finished watching the Season final. Am very disappointed. Wasn't at all what I expected. Felt very disjointed and all over the place. And it was yet another poor use of the Cybermen. Overall I'd have to give the episode a 4 out of 10. And after 12 episodes I stil hate the theme.

The first prize was the Dalek edition of Doctor Who Yahtzee, and I tried to be funny by giving an acceptance speech. 'I'd like to thank the Time Lord Academy...', I think I came off as a jerk though. :(

I better do this first...

After the BF auton-that-wasn't, the companion Dalek-that-wasn't, we got a crapload of cybermen-that-weren't??? I guess the tech guys in the upgrading plant are on strike because upgrading just isn't what it used to be! I mean WTF? Assimilated cybermen have to actually switch an "ON" switch to complete the process? Just ridiculous. Did like the part where the medic pounds on the console though. PC is a brilliant actor that I'm learning to appreciate more and more. Just wish he had stories that didn't make him look like a fool. I can deal with 3's overpowering venusian martial arts but a 007 medic, not so much.
And why did Missy have to die? I miss the old days when the nemesis narrowly escapes his own demise. Now they'll have to make up another stupid story to explain how he survived. I thought Gomez definitely had a future as the Master.
AND WHY DID THEY HAVE TO KILL OSGOOD??? I think this was an excellent potential companion, even the medic hinted at that. A sadly missed opportunity to develop an very interesting character. Osgood is cool.

One word: disappointing. Cybers totally out of character. Once again Clara and the medic's acting save the episode.

Spoiler tag day!

- The inhibitor circuit being "off" by default was mind boggling.
- They **wasted** Osgood. Wasted. When The Master (I can't do "Missy", sorry) killed her, I just wanted to turn it off. It was done entirely to spite fans and did not move the story forward in any way. The Medic got a little frustrated at it, but then it came to nothing. Opportunity thrown out the window.
- I liked the Brig showing up, but unlike the organic way in which #11 called him and found out he was dead, this just felt like pure cheese.
- I wasn't aware that Cybermen blasts disintegrated people. Small complaint, but hey.
- What the hell was up with The Master the whole flipping time. One thing you can say for the original series/LC Master is that - even if his schemes were sort of dumb and crazy - he actually had schemes. The Master actually *wins* this time, and s/he just gives up and gives his whole plan to the Medic... Just Because!
- I know the whole Nick Frost thing is some big deal for some people, but come on.

I think there's something well off with Clara & the medic's interaction, this series. Not with their acting but with the writing. They don't have normal conversations, they constantly talk to each other in metaphors & statements that are misleading & cryptic! The Doctor spends less time explaining what's going on & more time explaining what he meant by the last thing he said! Moffat puts so much effort into trying to mislead & shock the audience that he misses the fact that people just don't talk like that! It's clunky conversation & it's starting to get on my tits!

Perfectly agree. What I mean is that if those 2 weren't really good actors, the whole thing would go to hell real fast. At least you can appreciate the great acting even though the script itself is crap. Goes to show that a good actor can make even the worst scripts interesting to a degree.

It may just be me that feels this way, but the quality of a lot of the episodes are like 6's run all over again. There are still brilliant moments, it's just that the majority of the episodes fall short overall of what they could possibly have been, and I've found myself less eager for Saturdays and more reluctant to take the time to sit down and watch. I still love the medic, a couple of poor episodes won't ruin that (especially as the quality has always varied, right from the beginning of the show), but if this continues next season I feel like it it may be time for me to take a small break from the TV portion of the franchise. I'm very grateful for the audio stories!

(This is my personal opinion, no offense is meant to anyone who thinks differently)
My friend, you are by no means alone (YANA). And I think no less of you for not enjoying this set of episodes as much as you could: overall it could be much better qualitywise.
For my part, I actually couldn't sleep the night before because of excitement. And I love Six's run just because of Colin Baker. And Vengeance on Varos. And the Rani, and the Valeyard. And the plotline of Revelation of the Daleks, even if I could've happily done without the DJ. And the fact that Six FIXED THE CHAMELEON CIRCUIT (not completely, and not permanently, but still).

I have some things to say about this.
I agree about the cybermen. Thoroughly rubbish, although they did give me the opportunity to exclaim "flybermen!" which makes it almost worth them being so underwhelming.

Missy, on the other hand. SHE DIDN'T DIE! When she used her vapouriser on people, they exploded in reddish motes. When she teleported, she exploded in bluish motes. When the Doctor used the vapouriser (also, pertinently, a multifarious tool) on her, she exploded in bluish motes. She totally didn't die, and the Doctor noticed this. Clara didn't, because she hadn't actually seen the device used before so wouldn't know the difference.
That said, doesn't negate the fact that The Doctor pulled the trigger!
EDIT
No, he didn't. She was shot by a cyber shot. But it still wasn't a characteristic shooting- else she would have kaboomed or something similar, like when CyberDan shot those other cybermen. Curious and more curious.

And Osgood. She was so good. I was distraught. But then GuyGardner mentioned something interesting: the Zygons. We never did see the conclusion to that bit of Day of the Doctor. For all we know, that was Zygon Osgood.
I can only hope.

I think I'm on the smaller contingency here, but I think PC is really good, he's moving up my list of favourite doctors. Even my wife and kids, who are not fans, like him. Nonono! I haven't actually seen anybody complaining about PC. He's brilliant, and brilliant in the part. He IS the Doctor. Everyone I've seen has nothing but praise for him as an actor. Just makes it more of a shame when he has to carry an awful story.

Absolutely. I noticed it too, and I was massively relieved. I love the "Manic Mary Poppins" quality to that lady's look and manner (I'd have added "evil" but as far as I'm concerned, that's included in the "Mary Poppins" qualifier). I'd miss her dreadfully if she never reappeared. Quite frankly, I'd rather she'd got a character of her own as opposed to Master Leftovers, but I'm an avid supporter of the gender switch idea, so I keep looking the other way.

yeah, that "do as you're told" crap. Where did Moffat even get that from? What an utter load. Only a complete ass would say something like that. More and more Moffat reveals what kind of crappy person he is in real life. "hugs are used to hide your face"? That means moffat is sometimes ashamed of how he feels. And he should be, it's all about what's on the surface (aka "looks") for SM. When did Clara become the world's worst schoolteacher anyways? So bloody 2 dimensional. If I can't respect her as a schoolteacher, then she can take a hike as a human. And yeah, Danny killed a child - so no love for hm either. Osgood was a good character - she didn't look sculpted out of plastic (nor is she an actress SM crushed on as a kid), she's not one of the universe's two most important people (see river song). She's not even very cool. I frackin loved her. (and yeah, it'll probably be revealed that one was a zygon) Danny's speech was dumb. Looks like he learned plenty from those officers, considering he insulted his army before ordering them to their deaths. My problem isn't with sloppy plots or bad dialogue (although those ARE HUGE problems too) My problem is that SM is an ass. If you still don't believe me, check out his interviews from the 90s where he just insults Tom Baker over and over again, and talks about how ashamed he is to be a DW fan.

Sorry, I really needed to let that out. I feel better now.

Peter Capaldi is beyond perfect.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I loved the finale both parts of it.Love or hate her Missy adds a new dimension to the Doctor/Master rivalry. They are old friends with opposing views on power, morality,Earth and the human race, an argument the Master is determined to win not by killing the Doctor but by getting him to see that he's right and that they are superior to and have every right to Time Lord it over the rest of the universe. If the Doctor kills or uses force even to protect a life the Master wins.Remember the Master in any regeneration has never really tried to kill the Doctor but conquer the universe with him as witness to his victory and proof that he's right in their superiority to other life forms. The gender change just adds a new dimension their life long conflict in that the Doctor must now not only deal with his foe as an amoral megalomaniac but also as an attractive young time lady as well which makes her argument all the more persuasive.I look forward to their next confrontation. What do you think?

..But Timelords are largely asexual due to their absurdly long lifespans. So whether He is a woman or not, neither of them would have any attraction toward the other one. It isn't like a human that lives 60 years and that is all she wrote. Timelords go for thousands of years.

For my part, I actually couldn't sleep the night before because of excitement. ..

Ha! I balanced that out as I just couldn't sleep last night as my mind just kept going over how (IMHO) bloody awful the actual story was :D

I just really, honestly, truly, want the series to go back to its roots for a while. Go back to the essential idea of good stories framed in time and space that just lead one to the other. Just forget all the Arc ideas. Linear stories well told and well acted.

---------- Post added at 01:28 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:21 AM ----------

And you know what's really galling?

We here have been knwon to rail at LC now and then and have the odd beef about folks like His Bruggsishp, but I honestly don't believe we've ever had any real issue with the fundamental story they've been telling.

As Audio Fans we've endured *FAR* worse than the TV has thrown at us in terms of drama; 8th's descent into madness with Zagreus, Lucie, Flip and Hex spring to mind. All those stories have worked. They may have made us hurt, but after the event it's a "*gulp*, *sniff*, wow ... cough ... er ... *hugs* all round everyone?" feeling.

Why the hell can't the TV series do as well?

Two things;
1) Out of Context, But I'd love an Arc in Space tie-in.

2)LC largely gives us what fans mostly want, even if they don't know it; stories about a guy that travels through time and space, occasionally landing at some point in our worlds timeline, occasionally going into one of the pre-established epochs of the classic era (The Dalek Wars, the Cyber invasions, the Victorian Era that #4 made so famous with J&L). These arn't intense, rollercoasters of angst and emotion on the part of the main character. They are stories about an outsider trying to make himself fit in everywhere he goes and with every companion he encounters.

I see where you're coming from, but I must disagree. Look at what they've put 8th through with Charley, Lucie, and Molly.

And externally we've seen what a bastard 7 was with Hex ... which leads me to ...

Exactly.

Love 'em, and loathe 'em now and then, they really do know how to tell a story properly.

Ehehehe I loved how tongue-tied the Doctor was when he first met Missy at 3W (even before the "welcome package"). I have found all his previous televised dalliances (Grace, Rose, Reinette, Astrid, River, Tasha) a bit distasteful. This one, however, I could get behind as long as it doesn't get ridiculous. Alas, it likely would.

yeah, that "do as you're told" crap.

I wonder how much of Moffat's thinking influences the characters, because it can be so infuriating sometimes. Danny and 12's territorial rivalry over Clara pissed me off more than any of the headache-inducing stories we got this season. Also the Doc's constant belittling of side-characters who are given a name and a few lines, mocked, and then killed off in the next scene. It's gotten much worse compared to "he likes to insult species" from several seasons ago.

I'm also loving Capaldi as 12. He's new and shiny, but also just really, really good.

The line they say most frequently, the line that pisses me off so hard, SHAME on Moffatt for making them say it. I get that it's supposed to highlight the interesting dynamic between the pair, but it just comes off as abusive.
"Do as you're told."

I find that it makes the way their partnership (companionship?) ended incredibly fitting. On lies.

I don't know if Missy adds a new dimension to anything between the Master and the Doctor but I really liked her bit in the graveyard scene. I think it was done really well, for much the same reasons you've said in your post. Could've done without cyber-Danny's speech though.

Here's my take on the season:

PC as 12 - fantastic!
JC as his companion/assistant - fantastic!
DP's cyberspeech - no worse than 11's pandorica speech to the collected aliens (also written by SM, and the many other 11 speeches that people love also written/showrun by Moff)
Overall run of episodes - fantastic!

12's way of addressing others - fine, sometimes laugh out loud hilarious, generally fantastic (he's a bloomin' alien after all, why should he be resticted to human norms?)

Missy's muddled up/non-logical plans - fantastic (cf with the mad, muddled, non-logical ones we've seen through the classic years).

Missy's death - normal for this show (how many times did the AA Tremas incarnation die in stories featuring 5, 6 and 7, plus re-imagining for the movie and BF stories?)

That hug/face thing - fine (no different to 11's weird kissing/greeting behaviour in stories such as the lodging one).

So basically what I'm saying is that I've loved this series and haven't really had any problem with most of it (okay the moon birth was a bit out there, but no more ridiculous than the vampires and monsters in the pepperot chasing one with 1, or the fictional land one with 2, or the magical aliens with the bard and 10). People have been complaining about all sorts of stuff - as is their right - but some of the negative stuff that's been highlighted as crappy Moff direction hasn't been any worse than some of the bizarre, canon-crossing stuff we've experienced throughout the last 51 years as different writers/showrunners come along (past lives in Morbiiuuss anyone?)!

BTW, I thought the two-part finale finally brought a bit of danger back to the tin men (but I couldn't help but think of the colourful Marvel ferrous-man photoshops that came out on the net last season when I saw them flying along with the jets from their feet)!

I'm neither pro- nor anti-moff. I take each episode/season/medic as it comes and like the bits I like and dis-like the bits I don't like (and suck 'em up) and wait with anticipation for the next lot.

As much as I'd love that, I suspect that the Eminence is going to be the Bigger Bad (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BiggerBad) of the "Black Pupils" story arc. Especially since the Time Lords are more fearful of it than then they are of the Pepperpots. Talk about a Godzilla Threshold (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GodzillaThreshold)...

(note to self: Stop referencing TV Tropes. It's probably confusing people. And if it isn't, it'll ruin their lives visiting it...)

Remember when ten told five the mister was back? Five asked if he still had that rubbish beard and ten said "no, well a wife". I think that it's clear that when they were young, the mister and the medic were on the eye of orion, getting drunk, talking about the universe, and the mister misread a cue and tried to kiss the medic. Blushing furiously, the medic told him he had the wrong idea. The mister apologized, left, and, in a rage, has been trying to conquer the universe ever since.

Think about it. The Doctor almost never flirts with anyone. He gets extremely anxious when kissed. He hardly ever drinks (big exception, the dandy). He has a grandchild but never speaks about his family. Conclusion: In the future the medic and the mistress will hook up and produce an offspring which will get their own spin off show.

I enjoyed PC's medic immensely. I did feel he was given too many lines that I'd have attributed to a different medic but I'm fine with him being the 'rude' medic. We've had a silly medic, a fun medic, a war-torn medic, an arrogant medic, a bumbling medic, a romantic medic, a warrior medic, a devious medic, a grumpy medic, a charming medic, an eccentric medic, and a fighting medic. Why not rude? I think we should be concerned with what we get next. That's right, a ginger medic!

Nonono! I haven't actually seen anybody complaining about PC. He's brilliant, and brilliant in the part. He IS the Doctor. Everyone I've seen has nothing but praise for him as an actor. Just makes it more of a shame when he has to carry an awful story.

I completely agree. I would never say that to another adult that I like and respect. That's something that should be saved for small, misbehaving children.
