That your perception of the thread's place is....limited.

I believe the thread has evolved beyond its original purpose and while you may feel it is inappropriate I don't think it is injurious to the purpose of the thread. Specifically, if people feel this is a forum where they can chat about releases and post links to said releases at the same time then the first bolsters the second. I don't think so many people would share so freely if they didn't feel they were sharing with a community with a shared appreciation of the material. It's become a sharing between friends. You may feel that this needs to stop, that the thread should purely be for links. Although perhaps appropriate according to the rules, that sounds somewhat mercenary and I believe would be damaging to the continued availability of any download material.

go back to your clique --- and take the rest of the trash with you ---you can bitch about all the people you like there and make them talk about what you bitches want people to talk about... this place will go on..just without people like you and your bitchy cliques.

and your coaching it making it pretty clear that you are goading me in to getting a warning or trying to get me to be banned,,,---

say what you want out in the open - i'll post all your private messages as a caveat... that yes this might well get me banned but then maybe it'll be worth it to shed the light on people like you.

I am lost now, I have no idea what you are talking about.

I don't want anyone banned, I don't particularly enjoy posting here any more.

On my own behalf, representing no 'clique' or any group. I asked an honest question. One I will stand by.

As for posting my messages, I gave you a one line reply and then never bothered.

I am not trying to goad you, not trying to do anything. Just curious why you acted the way you did and are so keen to blame it on others.

I still think a cuddle would help.

Anyow, I was just pointing out that using "this is a discussion thread' as a means of quelling the above jackass was the wrong turn of phrase. either way, he's still a twat.

see? I didn't pm to you that you are a twat, so no need to "publish" it. I saved you a step.

THIS is not constructive. If you want them all to leave, the thread will be here, but what point? YOU sir are being the antagonist here. I do agree your right to express your opinion, even an unpopular one. But posting pm's in the open is a bitch move.

Err I was referencing KawCMTT there, not you guys. Fast typers you are.

Honestly, I propose locking the thread for a cooldown period. There is some serious immaturity going on that is obviously only being fueled by the participating peoples in ability to just get over it. Had I the frame of mind to do so at the moment (hydrocodone says I do not) I would msg an admin to propose that directly... but this took awhile for me to type while falling asleep anyway.

And with that I'm out of here! Sorry but the various ego's of certain posters, petty name calling and threats like the above just makes this an increasingly hostile and unpleasant place to visit. Such a shame. Forums are funny things. When left to develop naturally communities spread out in a variety of different sections within the forum, and that's a great thing. Here we have a Doctor Who thread where people share comics, audio stories and the like and understandably like to discuss elements in the story.
Where's the harm? Seriously? Where's the harm in this?
As others will tell you, anyone who has EVER asked me for help in getting links has always received them. And it's not just me, I know many others in here are eager to help and share. However that's not enough for some I guess.
Anyway i'm off. Take it easy folks and have a good and safe new year when it comes.

I'd like to add my half penny worth here. I'm a respected UFO researcher, and I left the subject in the early 1980s as I saw people attack each other over different belief systems. When I re-entered the UFO community in 2004, I'd hoped that all the slanging was behind us. Sadly not. The subject is as bad, if not worse than it was.
I too am fed up of what appears to be petty arguements that this forum seems to have decended into. This IS and ALWAYS be a place for lovely LC postings.
Please, its New Year's Eve here in the UK.
All I ask is let us begin a new year with a fresh outlook, and lets put all the mud slinging behind us. We have already lost a number of good forum members due to certain elements.
Lets not destroy a wonderful forum.

I bid EVERYONE on here a happy, peaceful and wonderful New Year.

THIS is my point. What you are missing. THIS, this here is NOT a forum. It is a thread. 1 thread in the filmscore sub-board of the download sub board of the FFShrine. This is one teeny thread in a vast whole. Community or not it is not a forum.

Well excuse my internet decorum. I'm a thickie obviously, unlike you. Any one who knows me will tell you I am the most mild manner person that they have ever met. But right now, on the eve of a new year, my blood is boiling. You obviously love to use semantics to get your point across. Well, if yoy destroy this THREAD, I can only hope that you get some bloody perverted pleasure out of it.
And then you will move on to another THREAD. Why not join a UFO group? You'd love it. All those big words, all of those people you can destroy. All that hope, all those dreams you can destroy.
I think you are a very sad, lonely person who gets a kick out of destroying other peoples joy of life.

There are no such things as UFO's, flying saucers, little green/gray men, bigfoot nor the odd Loch Ness monster. There are no living brontosaurs or such, Dinosaurs though d indeed live among us. We call 'em birds these days though. There is no esp, telekenesis, astral projection nor ghosts, spirits or demons. There is no Easter Bunny or Santa Clause. The New Year is just an annual cycle of solar system dynamics, purely arbitrary. Manned space travel in our lifetime will never happen unless the Chinese do it. The Gov't did not assassinate JFK. The Old days were not really Better Days. They sucked too, but with less interesting pastimes. All of the Republican's fondness for good ole days is a mass deception of themselves.

Did I miss bases?

Oh, yea. Doctor Who is just a tv show. No more, no less. One I adore. But, hey. Continue on acting like stuck up little pricks. It seems to be working so well for you, doesn't it?

The reconstruction of Macro Paulo
(Please forgive my spellcheck -- it's from Barcelona).

Someone was recently discussing whether we would ever see this episode restored, so I thought there might be interest in downloading the reconstruction.

It's buried behind spoilers, so you'll have to be willing to CLICK CLICK CLICK.
No RWQ, so let's see how long it stays viable.

So in one or two pages, my DISCUSSING certain points of forum rules has DESTROYED your...community? Good God I hope to never live amongst a real community as weak as that. I can see it on the news now.

"Bob, I am here at ground zero. It's devastation all around. Chaos and screaming"
"Jim, was it a tornado? A bomb"?
"no, Bob. It was much worse than that. One person called Moffet a swooning wussie, blood started flowing. Already weakened, the whole community was dealt it's death blow by an older woman who in passing said to be quiet in the library. To finish her rampage she pointed out that this was not the whole of civilization, but basically just the suburbs".
"Jim....my GOD man, that's just...so are they going to pull together and struggle through this...crisis?"
"No Bob, it's over. Every member for themselves. After nearly two pages of stiff disagreement, their faith is in tatters. It's all down hill from here. And the carnage, the blood...."

**really** I destroyed your toy thread....I mean my toy thread...in two pages of debate? Wow.

Besides, I am just DISCUSSING things with you. Isn't this what the thread is for? Or does your core group have only certain topics that are fit for members to discuss? Am I in violation of community rules? Are they posted, so I can get notes? I thought you liked a good debate. Unless.....oh that's right. Only if YOU are the ones on top of the pile. Gotchya.

What you would like to think does not matter. This thread was created, by me, specifically for download links. With permission from admin. It is in the download section, and so is not SUPPOSED to be used as a discussion thread. Also, linking to torrents or sites out of the forum for downloading is also not generally allowed by the site rules. I am telling you what the rules say. You respond by giving an opinion on what you think should be, which does not matter, because the rules state otherwise. All threads in the dl sections are supposed to be exclusively for dls only. THAT'S JUST THE DEAL.

We know well about spies. We know varese watches the forum. We know members of the FSM board watch the forum. Even so, we are required to follow the set rules, as are you.

I would not have cared as much, but then I read like 3 pages of this silly ass fight and blood letting about whether or not we are allowed to criticise moffet, or speculate about things without facts. Then folks started exclaiming this was a discussion thread and to keep it as such. Which is a completely false statement.....

Congratulations, with statement, you have completely screwed every statement you have made in the last month.
Since when was 4shared a part of ffShrine??
I left a site that pulled that garbagge, as did many others here, they decided that only 2 download sites were acceptable, they banned anyone who dared use other download sites, or question their reasons....

So if history has taught the admin here anything about the former largest site which managed in the space of 2 months, loose over 500,000 registered members who also paid to keep the site alive - feel free to go to them and have this thread closed and good riddance to it, a member here will simply start a new thread and pm afew people, who will pm a few people, and the new thread will be this thread within a day.

Please also do me a favour, only quote me to start a fight, if I directed a comment, like this one, at you.. taking things out of context for no reason is always a bad thing FOG

I'm closing this thread for a few days to help calm things down and get things back on track.

What people don't seem to realize is that this is NOT a discussion thread, it is a thread for Doctor Who Audio Drama downloads, not soundtracks. Amanda started this thread intending it to be so, so when she asked and reminded people that this isn't a discussion thread, it fell on deaf ears, so i can understand where her frustration came from.

When this thread is reopened please remember what it's for and where it is. This is the download links section, no lengthy discussion are supposed to be here, that's why we have discussion forums.

The thread is now back open, so play nicely.

I'll explain a little why discussion on a large scale is frowned upon in threads in the dl section. Things tend to get way too heated, which leads to thread derailment and admin/moderators are supposed to close threads in this case. But if the heated conversation can be kept to a minimum then things should be ok to continue as they were.

There will be new guidelines posted in the future, so make sure and check them out when they are up.

Enjoy.

Preferably we'd like people to post links openly on the forum using the normal hosting sites method so everyone can access them easily, but i understand that links are getting removed very fast, so it's pretty much up to the individuals to use whatever method they choose. But please use a method that's easy for most people or at least an explanation as to how to get the links to work or whatever when posting alternate downloading methods.

How about some simple guidelines, I'm not a frequent poster but I have easily followed these steps:

RWQ = Reply With Quote which is in the bottom right hand corner of each post. Click on 'Reply With Quote' and there is the link, hidden not from downloaders but from those who would seek to kill the links.
The 'Like' button is a way of saying thankyou.
And avoid using the actual names of files, stories, audios, or the company producing them, to make them less easy to find, not for downloaders but from those who would seek to kill the links. And some of the rather bizarre 'codes' used to disguise the names adds to the fun!

Can we just get her back to a time line that was doing some amazing things prior to them doing the whole boxset thing? Her universe, the loss of Jason, the attack on the Collective etc etc were all doing perfectly well until they went down this route. Indeed, the friction between her and Brax was a highlight. That's just ... gone ... now.

If this is the last entry in the BS universe well, then, I cry B.S!!! She deserved a better send-off.

Do you really think LC have finished her saga?.

I honestly don't know for sure, but this last set did have a certain "Well, that's that!" feeling about it.

Unless they're planning on 'clearing the deck' again for her universe like they did at the start of the boxset release cycle with Epoch?

*IF* (and I do stress *IF*) this is the last release, then I'll not be sad to see the range end, but just wish it had been a better story. Even though ... The 4th wall breaking does sort of harp back to the first release of "Oh No It Isn't!"

But don't get me wrong, I do like the range but all things end and all that.

I will only add two things. For me, the more bizarre codes are confusing as all get out. But that's just me.

I am sorry for raising the temperature as high as I did and regret the damage caused, I will not do so again.

Oh. Three things. I have a guideline to add. No more flaming each other. I know, it happens everywhere, but. IF you feel a thread is offensive or inappropriate, report it. On the bottom left of the box, there is a star and an exclamation sign. I would like to see both used. The star is for reputation. If we are not going to actually thank a person in thread, and just hit like, then I wish you would also consider giving reputation points too. As for the other, it is a report post button. Click it on any offensive post. Admin then sees and can review it. I will mostly stay silent from now on, but will try to keep up, and I will report posts that get too nasty.

Ok. so..have fun, see you 'round.

Though it was interesting listening in small amounts in the Homeworld audios, esp. his speech to Darkel and co.

I sometimes found them confusing too - but checking out the latest releases on the audio company's website usually helped me work out what they were.

I can understand how that can become infuriating but there is also the satisfaction that comes when you finally work it out...or you just end up with two copies of the same thing (not so satisfying).

I was going to make a joke about twins but I shall refrain and, instead, just say that if in doubt ask for a better clue!

But I suppose it probably would help if, at the very least, release number/dates were hinted at for older re-releases.

Haha, imagine trying to figure out the code as a newvian like me. ^^;;
Suffice to say, I've probably absorbed more Classic Who via osmosis and needing to check up the references than from any other place on the internet.

And on BS: 'Oh No it Isn't' together with its subsequent episode almost convinced me to give up BS altogether. Thank god I tried some of the 'better', in my humble opinion, episodes next.

Yeah, in hindsight "Oh No ..." was an incredibly odd one to start off with. Fine if you're purely targeting those fans that are already familiar with the character, but hard to reconcile if you're just taking a random punt.

Trying to remember, but when I first 'got into' the range I think they must have had about a dozen or so releases out as I was already familiar enough with the way her universe works to hear that first story for the first time and not really consider it that odd.

Putting that aside, though, I thought the other earlier releases (the 'Time Ring Trilogy') we OK even though I heard them out of order. Hearing them all back now properly they do set the Benny-verse pretty well and, on-the whole, how whilst it's part of the Doctor-verse it's not running by entirely the same rules. The language used, for a start. Whilst it's never really post-watershed, the language used is far more adult in those earlier releases.

So that more folks are aware how to do it ....

In the following, substitute an Open Angle Bracket for OAB and a Close Angle Bracket for CAB ..

OAB!-- add link here --CAB

If you hit RWQ to read this, you'll see what I mean in the following line ...

It's really that simple. (Especially when I get my '!' in the right place!)

<hr>
The hidden RWQ trick makes use of the HTML Comment Tag (http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_comment.asp). Coders use it to insert comments, hide scripts from browsers and for testing web page errors. Search Engine ignore the tag and its contents.

best DW thing: a friend of mine stopped by on a visit from across the sea, and brought with him a Sixie figurine he'd seen at a con and been compelled to buy for me! This was a complete surprise and delight.

best non DW thing: another friend of mine stopped by my house when i was away over Christmas, and popped a wee letter under my door. It was just super positive and friendly, and reminded me why I love her.

1) This thread is about the latest releases from LC and the 50 year old sci-fi programme that forms a large part of it. This thread belongs to everyone who wishes to take part in the uploading, downloading and general discussion on what they think.
2) Keep an eye out for your favourite audio to appear. If you can't see it here, then (when we get up and running) scroll back a few pages to find it and check the release date in the main LC audio page to see when it will be released. And please try to be patient and not ask for audios the day or two of release.
3) If you're scratching your head wanting to know what LC stands for, then you really shouldn't be here.
4) Please be nice to each other and treat people with respect. No one likes a smart-ass, but everyone enjoys learning something new about our favourite series. Debates are nice to have, but remember that how you write can be interrupted in many forms, so be wary of this.
5) This thread belongs to all fans of a certain Doctor who travels in time and space and enjoys discussing the audios, TV, books and anything else from this series.
6) While this thread is public, invites are more than welcome. Personal invites would be better than a general message on other forums.
7) Those wishing to not be civil towards others may go elsewhere to rant and rave. This is not the place for that here.
8) Please don't use the actual titles (so these aren't picked up on Google, etc...) and use spoilers as requested in the forum rules.

Let me start with this special edition I made up some time ago from LC #40 - Queens Ceremony. Download it just to here Blue Pete and the pepperpots.

I know I said I was done with the place but I do actually like it here; so here goes...

Thanks for the apology Amanda, I know many on the thread will appreciate it, and there is absolutely no reason for you to stay silent.

On the BS thing, I think they would have announced if it was finishing. Along with J&L, it's probably one of their bigger DW spin-offs so it'll probably continue for the foreseeable future at least. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought 'Oh No..' odd. For me, it was only the brilliant Nicholas Courtney who kept me listening (and the fact that I cba to go and change the CD).

Personally, I think the series lost some of it's shine when they killed Jason off and given what happened at the end of Living Memory I hope they find a way to re-introduce the character.

Indeed, for me Jason is like a more likeable/interesting Rory (I don't care much for Rory, I like Jason, though I don't think he's much like Jack Harkness which he keeps getting compared to :P). I also think that it would be very interesting to see him back (I'm such a schadenfreude but I'm practically dying to see him back, if only to see his reaction to Gallifrey!Brax especially after the way Jason died. I know I'm evil - Galli!Brax is such a punching bag for Benny and co. right now.) I'd also die for some Brax VS Brax gambit pileups (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GambitPileup).

And I think that Nobber needn't fear, Brax seems like the type to go through the Heel-Face Revolving Door (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HeelFaceRevolvingDoor) really often and I don't think we even know if Galli!Brax is the younger Collection!Brax and if he is it would be funny (Okay, terrible but priceless) to see Benny's reaction.

Well when they announced this series they did say it would wrap up events that started in Epoch, so it is a finale.

You're right about Iris, but I think Bennie is far more popular. Guess all we can do is wait and see.

I keep a pile of word-only audios (like AudioGone's 10th-/11th-audiobooks) for noisier environments. These, as opposed to less crisp audios, where the voices must be discerned from loud sound effects and Briggs modulators.

To this end, would you say that Court-ney's memoirs are fairly word-only?

Hi everyone, glad we're back and trust all's well.

Have an unusual request.

That is to say, thanks to my 2nd external HD that went ballistic on me. The first one was due to a virus which I was able with the aid of a Dell technician to eliminate and eventually restore. The second was when the drive itself went bad (the first two were Western Digital) and I got 2TB Seagate EHD to replace it, recommended at Best Buy as superior to WD which I used to copy my files from the WD that went bad.

Happy to say it was successful, but wouldn't you know it, for some very peculiar reason I'll never fathom, there were 4 different audios with multiple files that did copy except, believe it or not for one miserable little file apiece. Weird right.

Wonder if any of you could help me replace them or if so inclined just replace the entire episode.

They are: DW CC XXXXXThe Rocket ManXXXX Track 14,

DW CC XXXXXThe Time MuseumXX Track 16,

DW CC XXXXXThe Library of AlexandiaXXXXX Part 21 Track 11,

DW CC XXXXXThe Council of WarXXXXXXXXX Track 16

That's it. Kinda of crazy huh, but that's life in the crazy cyber world. Appreciate any and all assistance.

In the meantime as Roy Rogers onetime former self appointed "King of the Cowboys" used to say "Happy Trails to You" and smooth sailing.

Thanks a lot Red. TM16 and TLoA21t11 were spot on. But RM14 I believe was actually the first theme track since it's about the same length as the one I have now. OK. This is important. I have opened a Thread in General Discussion here: Thread 166723

Admin wants us to discuss what sort of guidelines/rules we want in THIS thread. Once we reach some he will posed them in this thread and they will need to be abided by. BE SURE to take part so you have a say. Some here have surely put me on ignore, so please relay the message so all get a say. This will happen regardless, and Admin WILL enforce the posted rules so please, please partake. I suppose carry on until then though.

Thanks Amanda.

A answer to a previous concern. When someone spells words wrong like flavour, neighbourhood, colour - it is what most other countries (or at least Australia) uses. Americans take out the u and present it as 'or' - not 'our'. Unfortunately what we Aussies know about America and what Americans (or such) know about Australia can be very different. That's why I believe we really are the Lucky Country. We have access to all American and British shows while still enjoying our own. Doctor Who aside (and Torchwood, etc...), if American TV wanted a good program from elsewhere, they would remake it afresh. Thats where you get Sandford & Son (Steptoe & Son), Threes Company (Man About the House), The Office USA (The Office UK) and Kath and Kim USA (Kath and Kim Aust [which bombed BIG time]. Not saying the USA version is inferior, just that there isn't a lot of - particularly Australian TV - over there.
And just in case you didn't know - we drive on the left hand side of the road, have Hungry Jacks instead of Burger King, KMart instead of WallMart and just don't tell anyone over here that "I'm rooting for you". That means...ahem...something else entirely.
Language - isn't it wonderful...

From the lack of reply when I requested a re-up of it a couple of months ago, I conclude that there must not be enough patrons of this thread who have it in their collections. :-)
Now that I have come by it, allow me to rectify this deplorable scarcity.

As someone completely new to this whole franchise, would anyone have any recommendations for something to listen to as a first?

Could make for interesting listens when I'm on the bus and sorts.
Or folding laundry.

A quote to an existing post would be greatly appreciated.

One more time. The thread opened in the General Discussion board is not for Who discussion. It will not remain a seperate thread and will be closed shortly. Admin is going to install a set of rules for THIS thread that MUST be followed if it is to remain intact, including a consistent method of posting links which ALL must follow. NOT hosts, just the method of posting, and I am thinking the reply with quote method seems the best choice there, so that is how it WILL be required now. IF you have an opinion, post it on the other thread. We have a chance to make our rules, or Jessie will do it for us. Which do you prefer? Either way, there will be more structure to this thread. Community, sure, but a more structured community if it is allowed to remain. The alternative is links only and NO discussions. Some of us are hoping to avoid that option (including, I may say, Goldie).

As someone completely new to this whole franchise, would anyone have any recommendations for something to listen to as a first?

here you go. this is a link to the wiki page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doctor_Who_audio_plays_by_Big_Finish), gives basic information.
and here's a link to a chronology page (http://www.drwhoguide.com/who.htm), so you can figure out what order (more-or-less) they should go in.
these ones aren't mid-continuity so you shouldn't be assailed by inexplicable references.
I've bolded the ones I thought were really good and/or enjoyable.
1 The Sirens of Time
2 Phantasmagoria
3 Whispers of Terror
4 The Land of the Dead
5 The Fearmonger
6 The Marian Conspiracy
7 The Genocide Machine
8 Red Dawn
10 Winter for the Adept
12 The Fires of Vulcan
13 The Shadow of the Scourge
14 The Holy Terror
15 The Mutant Phase
20 Loups-Garoux
21 Dust Breeding
25 Colditz
26 Primeval
27 The One Doctor
34 Spare Parts
35 …ish
36 The Rapture
39 Bang-Bang-a-Boom!
42 The Dark Flame
44 Creatures of Beauty
46 Flip-Flop
47 Omega
48 Davros
49 Master
51 The Wormery
58 The Harvest
66 The Game
70 Unregenerate
76 Singularity
85 Red
86 The Reaping
90 The Year of the Pig
91 Circular Time
93 Renaissance of the Daleks
94 I.D._Urgent Calls
95 Exotron_Urban Myths
96 Valhalla
97 The Wishing Beast_The Vanity Box
98 Frozen Time
107 The Haunting of Thomas Brewster
109 The Death Collectors_Spider's Shadow
112 Kingdom of Silver_Keepsake
123 The Company Of Friends
142 The Demons of Red Lodge
149 Robophobia
150 Recorded Time and Other Stories
151 The Doomsday Quatrain
152 House Of Blue Fire

unfortunately I couldn't really include any of the Eighth Doctor stories. They're pretty much completely serial, and the few that aren't in any particular arc still aren't all that standalone.

Well i guess it's now my turn to close this thread for a while before it gets even more heated.

It was supposed to be a thread about Doctor Who audio dramas and anything that's related to it, but seems people are more interested in fights and off-topic discussions, even when they were told to not to do it (for the sake of this thread continuity) the last time that it was reopened. The sad thing is that it only lasted a few days.

It is said that "Time is the cement of friendship", so i hope you guys can calm down and throw all the negativism away that when it is reopened you can enjoy what the thread has to offer.

Sanico

This thread is now open.

Some things to keep in mind. This is the Doctor Who Audio Drama thread. It is a thread for you to share/download/discuss anything that is related to these audio plays, and by the same token a place to talk about everything that is associated with Doctor Who as a franchise.
In this sense the thread is not different from other megathreads in the downloads sections of the shrine (e.g. the official Star Trek thread, the Orchestral thread, the Godzilla thread, the Classical thread, etc.), which you can not only upload/download but also join in conversations that are related to the topics in question.

Having said that, if you want to discuss any matter that is not related to Doctor Who Dramas, then please do it so in the appropriate sections of the forum.
For example you can start topic(s) in the General Discussion and chitchat about anything you want, or in alternative create a social group (http://forums.ffshrine.org/groups/) with the participants of this thread. You can set the group to be open for all members of the forum or by invite only, and build on it a community that is an extension of this thread.

Furthermore there is an ongoing topic in the general discussions, designed for the active members here, to expose your ideias and suggestions to help improve this thread and get a consensus of what guidelines you want to implement here. That's where you put your ideas, in that thread not here.

It is also worth reminding that the Doctor Who Audio Drama thread (and similarly in other threads too), is that it's forbidden to post inflammatory messages, sarcastic remarks, and instigations of any sort, and so on. In short anything that disrupts the normal course of a thread.
If there is one or more members that bothers you, then add these members to your ignore list. If you can find a conciliation, then fine, but don't hijack the thread as if it were an arena to publicly expose your conflicts, who in consequence will only further to increase any tension.
Individual members that continue to do this and/or keep spamming the thread with an endless succession of off-topics postage, will be warned and eventually punished with the due gravity of the situation.

Remember the thread will be what you want it to be, so enjoy and play nice, respect others opinions even if it's contrary to yours, and be grateful for what you get on this thread.

Part two of Iguana Travels: The Noseless Beings.
They've gotten to two of the Medic's good friends, and the Scot is distracted by a cute girl - or is he the one doing the distracting? And can a plane really fly straight up?
This one had a bit less fluff than the first half, but I managed to cut it down to a good 53 minutes, close enough to the first half that it didn't seem weird just comparing sizes and length. A large chunk was cut out of the 4th episode as it was incredibly forgettable, enough that I can't even remember what it is, and I only cut it out an hour ago! On the more technical side, I'm moving my downloads to Mega, so the links stay alive longer. Many of my previous links have expired, and this should make it easier for me to respond to people who've missed previous links. Additionally, I'd like to invite you to the audioizations around so that more people can get in to them, and hopefully find it easier to get into the classics as well as the Large Conclusion series. Sort of a gateway drug to audio dramas and ancient medic.

I haven't watched that many Classic stories either. One of the reasons I started listening to LC in the first place was that the audios featured the classic Docs and took up less hard drive space than an actual Classic story. =P

I don't mind cryptic replies and codes, but I tend to overthink everything and thus the actual answer eludes me.

While I am reading through some pages (far, far too many to read them all) could you (or anyone) be so kind as to point out where the download posts (or torrent) are?
(Or do I need to really slog through 840 someodd pages?)

Is there a keyword attached to those DL and torrent posts that would allow them to all show up in a search?

There's no point doing that, most of the links of even twenty pages back will be long dead. Your best bet is to make a request (coded if possible) and see if anyone can point you to an active link or re-up it for you.

OK Thanks.
I've got to go see what there IS out there and compare it to what I already have so I know what to even REQUEST. lol

Been going full-bore on the DW media as of late, and have found a lot of stuff (most likely old-news to you peeps).

I'll most likely lurk about, on and off, until I can get myself sorted.

Cant wait to hear it, though I am not really a series 1 fan, saying that I have only seen the 2 episodes that exist. I never really took off for me till season 3, when it was nearly all Cathy G as the side kick. Season two had too many assistants and I could not stand that Venus Smith!

when I was younger, I would agree with you, but now as a 41 year old man, when I watch the DVDs, I find Tara too young, which I believe she was 18-19 at the time, and now find Mrs Peel more to my taste... "Honey for the prince" and "Touch of Brimstone" leap to mind for obvious reasons! lol
However my younger years were full of lust for Tara and not Emma.

Ah, sorry. Misunderstood. Blokes 6+1 audio has also been posted here previously as well as many other extra-curricular things of interest to Who fans. The thread scope is a broad one, which is partly why it is so enjoyable, and I do not think the posting of these links has been the subject of any of the recent controversy.

Well, I know there have been concerns about the direction of the thread in some quarters and posting links to stuff that is, at best, tangential to the title of the thread seemed to be going in the direction that was previously causing concern.

Amanda
01-09-2014, 10:09 AM
Perhaps, but since neither Sanico nor Jessie decided to change anything for now, I'd just relax and enjoy yourself. Especially since as mods, theirs is/was the concerns that count. Unless things get heated, they basically are not going to change things.

LC have updated their info for the main range releases for this year, seven of which are 6th medic adventures. This is very good news. The 6th medic (as voiced by Baker) should by my reckoning make his 100th story appearance for LC next year assuming the usual three release minimum for a year. He would be the first medic to reach this milestone.

100? Purely as The Doctor, or generally working for LC?

I make it 80 6th Doc stories - that's main range + Lost Stories, with releases like 100 taken as four separate stories.

PLINYEGG
01-09-2014, 08:42 PM
100 appearances for LC by Baker playing the 6th medic across all ranges (lost, main, short trip, subscriber special etc) including multiple doc adventures and counting as individual stories (such as monthly range 94 containing 2 stories and 100 containing 4) not counting his DS work or other for LC or companion releases for 6th medic that he does not voice. Check the LC audio play wiki. He should have 90 current released stories. There are 7 due for this year according to LC.

Baker reaching 100 stories first contains a kind of poetic justice, as his tv tenure was fraught with disaster and he certainly had the rawist of deals. Out of all the audios I enjoy listening to his the most.

Yeah, that more-or-less adds up with mine - I'd not counted the Shorts etc.

As others have said - for him to do so much and to be so popular via LC just shows what we really lost when his TV tenure was cut short.

As for meeting him ... I'd be bloody terrified! After watching him on 'I'm A Celebrity" last year I think I'd probably just start gibbering and saying something daft like "er ... could I just have a hug?" He looks like he gives good hugs!

RWQ

So much fluff here. That's to be expected when you have a 7-episode serial, but still. I cut the first episode down to 2 minutes, really down to two scenes(well, three, technically, but it was more of splicing in half a sentence from a later scene to an earlier one). This is the first four episodes of The Bad of the Pepperpots, and initially I was hoping to keep the Pepperpot presence until the end, but in the interest of keeping a tight story, and not having it become a three-parter, they come in at only 15 or so minutes, once the Medic's introduced to them. Some of the fight scenes in the Scot's 'test' have been cut down a bit, mostly because they consist only of music and grunting, and as this is still a children's show in this era, I think it's best not to be sending people to the zero room quite so easily. Sorry if any of the cuts in this episode are a bit jarring, particularly those fight scenes.

When I heard the new B7, first thing I thought of was Psirens ep of Red Dwarf. Dunno why.

Thought the Avengers was a little slow, but still really good. Was a little strange to hear Colin Baker being called doctor, but not THE doctor.

Any chance of sharing either of these?

Hi had a few PM's asking if I would share some new releases . I won't be sharing anything anymore after being accused of using other peoples links. Which is false. So sorry guys , will have to wait a bit longer xxx

Happy WHO year, all! I pop in from time to time. Sorry for the lapse. Been trying to smooth some issues in my personal life, as well as (finally!) succeeding at getting the missus into watching Classic WHO ("Talons of Weng-Chiang" was the one that finally broke her "dislike"). Hope everyone is having a good start to the new year.

I don't request things that often, but I was wondering if anyone could please share a copy of "Earth and Beyond", read by PMG. I've looked for a mp3 download of it on Amazon and the like, but it doesn't appear to exist. :( I used to own a cassette copy of it, but that's since been worn out (plus the ol' Walkmen has expired looong ways back). Would really appreciate it if anyone can help.

Thanks in advance. And, as my New Year's resolution, I plan to be more active in the forum this year.. :)

Don't worry about it, goldie. You've done a great job! I, for one, am forever in your debt.

Just finished the last TV Sherlock.

I still don't "get it".

Even putting aside my general dislike for Freeman, it still utterly goes over my head why the series got so much praise.

And that's not to ruffle anyone's feathers, and maybe one day it'll click, but right now *shrug* I just really don't "get it".

I thought I got it and then I sort of lost interest, a bit like how I feel about Muffety-who. Nice to see Morriaty again though.

I thought this was a very calm, rational (if somewhat despairing) post, no swearing, no name-calling, just bewilderment, and a gentle, heartfelt plea for sanity.

But since red seems to disagree - and I respect him - I've deleted it...

I'd like to think it'll be around the 50th anniversary of it's first screening, which is pretty soon, but we probably won't.

Personally I hope we get more than that back next time!! ;P

Maybe I'm just a bit too chilled out and relaxed for this forum but I dont see why people feel the need to bicker all the time. Goldie you do share a lot and we all really appreciate it. But unfortunatley its one of the sad facts of life that not all people share back, some like me just cant afford to, maybe some people dont come on here all the time and dont see the requests, or some people just take and thats that. But that is the nature of the beast such as this. I look after my dad and my wife and I have a baby so pennies aren't in great surplus, but i would buy and share if I could. I guess thats the reason I am here in the first plave because I'm broke.
But we all have the same thing in common on here and enjoy a bit of good banter, but lets all be friends again at the end.
Ok I'm done with my Micheal Jackson heal the world bit. A big thank you once again to all the folk who help make this site what it is.

I...am amazed that this is happening so quickly. Not entirely surprised, but still. You all **just** got things going.

Goldie, dear, you are yourself provoking the attacks. The rest....ignore her. "Minor" spats like this seem to spiral into pages of heated debate. be wary of that, will ya?

Babelcolour has done it again.
Here's the 50th anniversary update of his Every Story vid:

Doctor Who: Every Story 1963-2013 - A 50th Anniversary Update by Babelcolour - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxmXrOPYirI)

I felt quite pleased with this as I got a credit (all I ever did was supply some videos).
