In fact, when it's against women (which is what I guess you meant by 'domestic' rather than violence against a partner?)

I should have been clearer. Yes I mean violence against women. One book starts with him slapping a woman to quiet her down. I'm paraphrasing but that's the gist of it.

I was quite shocked when I read the first "Lovejoy" because of his strange attitude towards women.
The stories are very addictive however and as they progress you understand what a flawed character he is.

His casual violence towards women seems to be a combination of compensating for his abject cowardice and twisted moral values.

And yet he loves woman almost as much as antiques, and they love him too.

Not like Doctor Who at all.

Yeah, I've just re-read the opening bit and it's not easy to defend I must admit. Would Gash have written it the same way these days? I'd like to think not (I've not read once since "The Possessions of a Lady")

Though bringing it back to Who - DW provides good examples of novels being better than their TV counterparts; Marco Polo and The Zarbi for instance.

Hi can I go off at a slight tangent here. As my wife may call me I'm a bit of a saddo and happen to have all of current 11 action figures in 5inch. So when the wor medic was released earlier this year I thought I would wait a bit until the market was flooded so they would be a bit cheaper than 15 squid, wrong, turns out they haven't made any more and now one poxy figure is about 50-60 quid on amazon, ebay.
Anyway I found a site in the US which says they will be getting some in for September 2014, however they don't post to the Uk and even if they did it's still quite pricey with the figure and posting..See below
Doctor Who Day of the Doctor The War Doctor Action Figure - Underground Toys - Doctor Who - Action Figures at Entertainment Earth (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=UT05227#.U9n4NfldVwt)
Anyway where I'm heading with this is, does anybody know if they may be released again in Sept 2014 and would it be here. I contacted forbid planot who said "we don't know"

ENT. EARTH has a fairly good reputation for items arriving when they say they will.
They have a 4 tier listing process:
- In Stock (obviously means they have it presently)
- OUT of Stock (means it will NO LONGER be available)
- Temporarily Out of Stock (they sold out of their current stock but the manufacturer says they WILL send more)
- "COMING in [month]" (Manufacturer told then when to expect the item, and it's a fair bet that it WILL be there around that time - pending no unforeseen manufacturer delays)

They do this as they keep in contact with manufacturers to ensure that an item WILL or WILL NOT be re-released.
The LAST thing they want are irate customers who pre-order an item and are then told that it won't arrive.

I had pre-ordered War Medic during the PREVIOUS time they were sold out (they were due within a few months time), but I then found a good deal on the eBay and got mine that way.
They graciously canceled my pre-order (they do not take funds from you until the item is in stock and ready to ship out to you).

I got my 13 foot 4th Medic scarf from them (a gift from my sister) and I will probably get the 18th season scarlet one from them as well.

I'll be pre-ordering a 1st Medic Fl!ght C0ntr0l T@RD!$ (with variant 1st medic) from them soon.

Like you, I too have the 11 Medic boxed set (purchased from ENT. Earth in january of 2014 - for $89.99 US - when everyone else was looking for well over a hundred bucks for it).
Then, I got the War Medic.

THEN I got the 11th Medic S0n!c (torch/flashlight)
THEN got the full-size toy replica of same.
THEN I said... Hey, 4th Medic is my fave, so I NEED his S0n!c and got that too.

Then, I pre-ordered the 11th Medic in Purple (with 12th Medic head accessory) from my comic book seller (I get a sweet discount there - Discount Comic Book Service).

NOW, I've gone online and went NUTS!
I got a 4th Medic in 18th season scarlet robes & K9 (arriving soon from Amazon - a higher price than I should have paid, but these are scarce and everyone wants FAR MORE than what I paid for it)
I got a 9th/10th Medic C0ntr0l Fl!ght T@RD!$ (arriving soon from an eBay seller - at a good deal [shipping from UK more than the item])
I won a 10"x15" Remote Control K9 as well as the 5" RC K9 (both great deals from eBay [big guy was a steal - shipping from UK more than the item] and the little guy from a U.S. seller)

NOW looking other stuff - maybe a Companion or two, a D@L3K (remote control would be sweet) and a few other baddies.
My primary concern is to ONLY get the stuff that I REALLY want (and NOT just everything), AND it has to be at a decent price (sometimes comparatively / relatively speaking, if it's an out of production item) because I really don't have the extra cash (already used my budget for the next few months. Need to stop for awhile unless I find a TRULY good deal).
lol

---added---

Oh, and I almost forgot...
As I've been trying to get the Mrs. interested in the Medic, I've been showing her some episodes that I thought she'd like (she prefers the cheesy goodness of rubber-suited baddies of original series [as she is a G0dz!lla fan as well]) but with a few NuMedic episodes tossed in.

Of those new episodes, was the one with 10th medic and the AD!P0$3 fat-babies.
Well... that was ALL she needed to see, so I HAD to get her a "stress" doll (but she refuses to squeeze the little cutie) and a plush key-chain figure (that according to solicits was SUPPOSED to make sounds, but does not - nor was it made with any. argh).

So now I feel a *little* less guilty about my recent spree.

Oh. Sorry. I thought you meant they cost a lot to ship there.

I just went to UND3RGR0UND T0Y$ website and they have two options for finding "Best Sellers" and "Where to Buy".
They also have a "Contact" option so perhaps you could ask them directly WHERE and WHEN you might be able to find it.

So sorry.
Ent. Earth is merely ONE of the US retailers who sell this stuff, so it isn't like they are *THE* distribution source.
SOMEONE must be able to ship to the UK, or, as you say, you should be able to find a UK seller who will get the items.

UND3RGR0UND T0Y$ couldn't tell you WHAT sellers would be able to receive this item soon?
That's odd.

I do wish you luck.
Trust me, most of MY (after-sale) Medic purchases seem to be FROM UK sellers and I have to pay through the nose for shipping to the US.
Medic merchandise seems like it would be commonplace in the UK, whereas on this side of the pond it's a rarity, relegated to comic shoppes and nerd specialty retailers, like Ent. Earth.
So, it always seemed to me that these were easier to find in the UK than here.

Still, good luck.
I know you'll find it soon.

Darn it, over the course of September last year to about last month I'd been going to my local JB Hifi and buying my Medic DVDs in batches every few weeks, and I'd just bought out most of the catalogue! Ah well. Oh, and you guys might want to know that they're locked to region 4 unlike the UK releases (which for some reason are coded for every region), so you'll have to watch them on a region free DVD player outside of Australasia.

The main advantage ST Continues has over ST Phase II right now is their ability to release episodes on a more frequent basis. Phase II suffers from long delays between episodes, look at the newest story - The Holiest thing was originally supposed to be released in February and here it is 6 months later and still no release. True, Phase II has been able to attract stars and writers from the original Trek to participate and that's a big plus in their favor, but the interminably long delays are going to hurt them in the long run.

You know, stuff like this really bothers me as an American. Yeah, you have to pay the equivalent of about $250 a year, but you get a countless great television and radio productions produced ad free. Many Americans would gladly pay $20 a month for those kind of services, as nothing like it exists on this side of the pond. The value is tremendous, yet its always the first complaint when BBC fans can't get something first or right away.

Toys may be a little cheaper over here, but everything else is much more expensive. The new price of BBC dvds in the US is outrageous, and I've spent well over a thousand dollars on my Who DVD, which still isn't complete. Fans in the UK can have all that for a small fraction of what myself and others in the US have paid. Be grateful for what your money buys you every month, as it's immensely a better value than anyone pays in the US for a cable service of any sort (even a single programmer like HBO or Showtime). Hell, even stuff like "Large Conclusions" is more expensive over here and if not for the occasional sale I'd never be able to get anything in hand.

As was mentioned, you get pissy that one company can't ship to your country. Either find a friend to help you out, or try one of the other thousand companies or ebay stores that could help you. Moaning about your licence fee, which is ridiculous for me to comprehend, is just sad.

The programs they have produced over the years for a very small licence fee (which I didn't pay for the first 18 years of my life - thanks Dad) have been character building and have made me who I am. Hell, even stuff like "Large Conclusions" is more expensive over here and if not for the occasional sale I'd never be able to get anything in hand.

My personal recommendation for LC purchases is just to buy directly from them. You only pay the cost of the disc itself (obviously converted to USD). LC pays shipping on their products. It might TAKE it a few weeks to get to you, but it is far, far, far cheaper than going to a shop that imports them and paying 10-15$ more than the cost of the disc for no real reason.

I believe LC only pays shipping within the UK. If I buy a disc from them, I have to pay to have it posted overseas - this usually makes it ridiculously expensive to get, which I why I typically go for downloads.

Living in Dallas, TX, they charge me $1.50 for shipping. Again, it takes about 2-4 weeks to get here, but you get the digital download for free with the disc purchase, so it is usually all good.

LC doesn't pay shipping overseas I think. I pay 1GBP per item shipped (which is then converted to my currency of course).

Kinda figured that. The beeb's always been notorious for recycling set pieces and costumes. It goes as far back as the first series. Watch The Kaleds carefully and you'll notice part of the Tardis wall set used in the background of the Kaled city interior. I noticed that when recently I rewatched the story for the first time in years.

My favourite case of the beeb's recycling was when a whole season of Red Dwarf used Medic 5's closing sequence without those ionic stars with colourful vertical lens flare.

Start with episode 2 for an absolutely brilliant cameo an hour in!

There is another cameo (for that episode anyway) around the 8 or 9 minute mark. I recognised the voice straight away. And she played a big part in my pre-teen "fall in love with sci-fi woman on the tele" adventures. Thanks for bringing this series to my attention, very enjoyable.

Couldn't agree more about the license fee being value for money, I used to work for the Beeb a while back, we get Tv radio, local radio, sport etc, the list goes on and on. In fact I think it's the best media company in the world. My problem isn't with the fee, my problem is that a country which doesn't have to pay the fee gets our products cheaper than us. Also regarding finding another company that will post to the UK from the US...They don't. At least I haven't found one, hence the reason I asked on here in the first place to see if if anybody had any suggestions. I'm not paying fifty quid off ebay for one. I like Guy's suggestion, I'm going to make my own from old He-man figure's , now then I have have Battle Cat's body, where can I get a Hurt head?...No not like in the film seven...

And on the subject of action figures, I remember the Bymercen Ervenge set, a UK exclusive, being only 24 quid from Forbidden Planet (plus a very hefty shipping fee, ofc), as opposed to the $78+ price tag from US sellers. And the Bom Taker T*A*R*D*I*S. And the pointy triangle of Ares 4th Medic, whom we had to wait over 5 years for.

THAT's what I thought as well... until I just watched it again and realized that the gears and such are IN the watch (it IS the first thing we see [but my computer glitched at the first view and I didn't note that] and the last).

So... all the innards would pretty much require the watch.

I've never been a fan of literal translations of clocks to time in temporal-travel sequences.
Floating clock-faces and hourglasses and such... it's always too trite.

Still, it's ok.
I've seen other fan-mades that I've liked better.

Ah, if only the MUPPET SHOW was still a thing.
I'd LOVE to watch MUPPET version of it.

(This was brought to mind by your "soap opera" comment and my thinking of the old ""Veterinarian's Hospital" sketches on the Muppet Show.)

I'm not sure what their introductory offers are now, but back when I began my R1 Classic Medic collection I got a great deal by joining the old dinosaur Columbia House. They have quite a selection of the classics and if you get a good introductory deal and wait for Buy One, Get One sales and the like to get your required purchases out of the way, you can do well. Of course, for a lot of people it's too much hassle, but it worked for me!

I still had medic journals 1-166 plus a few of the nu-who comics on my main drive, plus I have a few items online I can redownload. I lost all of my LC audios though as they were stored on my secondary drive. I undoubtably will be asking for assistance to replace the stories I can't track down myself - I mainly see those being anything from FterAifeL on- so anything from the 2013-14 seasons of main range and Fourth. Let me thank you all in advance for any assistance given in rebuilding my collection.

This stuff doesn't bother me too much, I normally just go "oh well" and get on and enjoy unlike a fair amount of the fandom, but I thought this was a bit funny so I decided to share it.

Spoiler for size.

TEMPORAL TOMATO AND THE TITLE SEQUENCE
By the Temporal Tomato & the Internet.

*Finds out there's a new title sequence*
"Okay, so the more whingey fans got the old one ousted, despite it actually being alright after only 8 episodes, I'm sure it'll be good.
*Sees pic of the credits*
"Hmmm, looks like they've been listening to the fans a bit too much, it looks like the Day of the Doctor credits sequence."
*Finds out it's based on an existing fan sequence from Youtube.*
"Oh, god... I think that's giving the fans a little too much control... well, most of them are good, as long as it's not Xandercom's."
*Realises it's the only 12th Medic one I've seen that I dislike because it's a bit too cartoony with the idea of time travel and shoddy in some places.*
"At least it's only BASED on it, and the BBC will probably have toyed with it. Plus it has some cool classic series references!"
*Reads comments, finds out that it's EXACTLY THE SAME ONLY WITH THE CLASSIC REFERENCES TAKEN OUT AND THE NEW WHO ONES LEFT IN*
"...[expletive]"
*Realises that the next thing I find out is probably going to be that the theme tune is completely new like a portion New Who fans wanted "for the next 50 years" and stops scrolling*

In all seriousness, I expect the comments I read were exaggerations from excited fans, and I look forward to the new series. I'm sorry to say that I spammed you all with this for two reasons; because I thought some of the more sadistic visitors to this thread might find the fact that the diamond in my lumps of coal were contradicted one at a time, and because I have a controversial point of view I want to share, one that I fear posting anywhere else. (Next spoiler if I haven't scared you off yet)

I feel that slowly but surely, too much revival fan control is going to lead to the pre 2005 Medics and all of their EU material being erased within the next decade or two if it's still around that long. A bit early to be worrying, I know, but it's something I thought was a bit interesting.
There are very few fans interested in anything before the revival being made these days, and certainly less of extra curricular things such as LC. The reason RTD kept the EU intact was out of respect due to it being all we had during the 90's. By the 2020s and 30s, it's likely that there will be so few Classic fans compared to New Stuff around that someone who only cares about the "new" stuff will be in charge and rip out some of the dead weight, and not enough people will be around to care. This is also happening to a number of franchises. A franchise getting a new film that I needn't mention had it's EU ripped from under it just a few months ago, which makes me think even the next show runner could pull the plug and start over, after all, being a superfan isn't a Beeb job requirement.
The fact that these are the fans that seem to be catered for the most (the title sequence being from Youtube and the classic elements removed) is also quite alarming. Of course this is paranoia speaking, and I've been thinking this for ages, so if anyone has made it this far, does anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

(If you have actually made it to the end of this grammatically horrible piece of dreary moaning from someone who feels like a DW conspiracy theorist which is a title that shouldn't befall someone with any self respect; YAY! Thank you! I've uploaded the Medic5 part of the crop trilogy with the cyborgs to my 4shared page as a reward/compensation of sorts, enjoy!)

Stuff!!
The nice thing about fandom is that it eventually recycles. Case in point; I love the Twilight Zone and I Love Lucy. And I mean I am *hardcore* into them.

I was nowhere near born when either show came out, however they are easily two of the best shows I have watched/still watch regularly. So as long as there are fans, there will be a need to still have that material around. Furthermore, this is not the 60's. There is no need to conserve physical space for material, as the entire history of The Medic, in high definition (assuming such a thing was even possible), could fit on a single hard drive - not to mention a cloud-based server.

So we are not in any real danger of losing the Classic material, or even the Classic fans. Will the Current Classic fans eventually disappear? Of course they will, we arn't immortal. There will be new Classic fans to replace us, as difficult a concept as that is to believe given the .... nature.... of some vocal New Who fans, many of those fans will mellow with age and find their way to the originals organically. Likewise, fans of nostalgic TV will find their way to the show online and in physical stores.

At some point, we must come to terms with this; More people own televisions and watch TV now than they EVER did during the original run of The Medic. By that simple fact, It is not even possible to imagine that the New Who fanbase will not ultimately far surpass the size of the original in its entirety. Just keep in mind that those kids will grow up. They will become nostalgic and they will find their way to Classic Medic stories. Their children will replace them as New Who fans and this cycle will repeat.

Some people will stop watching, some will keep watching. That is just the nature of popular television. There will always be a need for Classic stories. Plus, bonus; eventually the 9-12th Medic will be enveloped by that title as well.

------UPDATE EDIT------

I just found out that a mere month or so since I got my 11th Medic S0nic Scr3wdr!ver (I ordered TWO) that CO had released a vastly improved version (branded for 12th Medic) and is ONE-Button operation.
(Unlike 11-ses which required the use of a button hidden in a miserable floppy bottom hatch - 12-sies can activate from open AND closed position with a single button on the grip)
2 seconds later i find that they just NOW released (UK and Aussie exclusive again) a ONE-TOUCH version
(doesn't even need the use of a button - it activates open or closed by pressure to the grip! AND comes with "removable p0wer c0re")

NO idea when or where I can find THAT in the U.S.

Sorry. Rant over.

Exactly my own thoughts on the matter.
I've long been a fan of some old-school stuff that "teh kidz" just don't know of or grok, if they did know of it.
Some of those properties have been "modernized" so the new fans have NO idea that it varies greatly from the old stuff.

Still, it recycles and the old has been resurfacing.

So, relax and enjoy your new stuff safe with the knowledge that the old stuff is still going to be there for those who want to explore it.
And who knows (touches side of nose), some of the new fans might fall in love with the old stuff, then get into positions where they can actively bring it back a bit.

OR - we can all go out and hunt the little b@st@rds down now and ensure they don't screw with our stuff!
Y'know... either/or.

In an effort to change the subject - Does anyone have a script for last months mainrange release? I don't know where y'all have been obtaining these scripts, but I am interested in writing a 30 min format story, so a few of the shorter scripts would be nice to reference. The scripts for 100 or 150 etc would be appreciated too. TY.

I have nearly everything on an external, and plan on buying another soon as a back-up (and think I'll also burn stuff as data to DVD), but I've often pondered about saving "to the cloud".
Any advice out there on that?

the cloud's all good for having a copy that you can't accidentally lose.
however, it's bad in that you can never really delete what you've uploaded to it, and so tracks-covering is much more difficult especially when the security of what's up there is completely out of your hands.
therefore not recommended to upload anything pirated.

Get a friend hooked.

Get two friends hooked.

Now three of you have redundant libraries.

The only way all three of you could lose these libraries would be from the electromagnet pulse of a detonating atomic weapon nearby, by which point you would be concerned about other issues.

Always back-up!If I had any way of backing up I would have. I only have the two hard drives in my computer, no laptop, no external hard drive, and no internet access at home to store my stuff online anywhere. It wasn't just my medic related material I lost....I lost all of my art projects, personal documents - photos, and music as well.

Well, I have started the recovery process - I have all three series of Fourthy save for 3.01, 6, and 7. I still have a long way to go. And for those wondering how I'm doing it, I'll be spending a lot of time at my local library (either that or use the computers at work - not like I have anything else productive to do there)

I'll be taking down my omnibus of the Xant Medic's "Medic Adventure Publication" strips soon, so if you're interested but haven't grabbed it yet, please do so soon.

I WILL be posting collections of complete issues of the "Medic Adventure Publication" soon. I have the first 300 issues available, and they're pretty hefty files. I'll probably throw them up in batches of 20 in a rar. Probably averages to around 500mb/batch. Won't keep them up long (5ish days each) but I'll of course post when the the UL's will cycle.

I STILL can't find the Bom Taker T*A*R*D*I*S - and even at high prices... no one seems to list the darn thing.
Currently looking for a few items that aren't going to cost me a fortune (plus my soul) in addition to crazy shipping costs from UK.

Hopefully I can find a US seller with doubles or whose wife is making him sell his stash or something.

Looking for:

- BOM TAKER T*A*R*D*I*S
- S@r@h J@ne Sm!t# - Black leather jacket & jeans (Sch00l Reuni0n)
- The Br!G (preferably in the green sweater and not full uniform)
- Also want to build a small army of Cyb3rm3n (maybe one or two of each incarnation) and D@l3ks... but that's for another day.

I wonder how much I can get for my KIDNEY?

I can feel your pain. Thankfully, an acquaintance in the UK agreed to go to a Forbidden Planet store then mail me the set. When it was in stock, it was sold for less than 7 and 1's, which is ridiculous. If they had extra stock to get rid of, they should have sent it across the pond. At the time, only Asian elecbay sellers would even post the T*A*R*D*I*S by itself.

That's the same method I used to obtain the Payback of the YberCen set.

I managed to snag a Gadeer sporting his beret on elecbay, but he wasn't that cheap, about $35 ish. Considering I just spent $40 to get the Day-monz set from MedicNA dot cm, I paid too much.

The best way to find that Jarah Sane is to either get the re-released companions set, or to wait til someone posts a single on elecbay.. now that she's not as rare, she'll sell for less.

Patience does pay off. I've snagged Gagnus Meel new for $47 (about a third of what he usually goes for) and the T+o+m+b+ Berleeder for about $40.

Alright, patience and blind luck.

My short "can't find it anywhere" list is comprised only of the Egeneration Bom Taker from the UK Saigon set.

For those who can't wait for the new season, the rough cut of the second episode has now leaked to the net, from the same source as the first. You can find it on a certain torrent site that kicks ass. Like the first one, it's in black and white, with text across the top and bottom, but not letterboxed this time. Also, more of the effects are in rough form or missing. Some of the speech that would be dubbed in later (like during effects sequences) is missing, but written in as text.

It's pretty damn amazing! They're definitely going a lot darker this season with both the storylines and with the Medic himself. Those new fans who prefer the Doctor to be "nice" may not be too happy, especially with a scene around 20 minutes in, which should have a lot of people talking. The new ongoing character makes his debut. And there's another hint of an ongoing story arc.

No problem, katrinaau, after the first hoaxed second episode, it's probably smart to be skeptical. I, too, sat online for 2 days hoping to get the whole thing back then.

I second this. The problems might be something to do with the filename, so if someone is kind enough to re-upload, perhaps this should be changed into something unfamiliar.

Again thanks to gwylock and my apologies to best head

Scene 20 mins in was fine with me btw. Smith or Tennant wouldn't have done that, so Capaldi is putting his stamp on Who very quickly.

Yeah, this episode is gonna either make or break fandom's opinion on the 12th Medic. However, despite being as far away in surface mannerisms as one can get from my Medic (11) , I believed fully that he was the same man. And that's a good sign. In fact, it's fantastic!

Well I'm glad to see that people have some good things to say about Capaldoc. A big change from all the doom & gloom merchants who were writing him off before even seeing him in action a couple of weeks ago.

Personally I'd rather wait and see the fully completed episode in all it's glory rather than see the half finished leaked one that's doing the rounds.

I just find it interesting to see just how much of what you see on screen was painstakingly made. There's (slight spoilers, but you can see this from the Take A Big Breath trailer, so not really) see a dinosaur in both Take A Big Breath's unfinished version, and in the trailer, and it's amazing how a grey blob was turned into a realistic dinosaur. Or how in the wide shots, where you can't see actors' faces, you realize the dialog you hear is sometimes added in later. It's interesting to see behind the scenes, how the filmmakers do their magic.

If they're still around after the eps have aired, I might try and d/l and watch them just out of curiosity.

And the winner for most convincing American accent by a Medic goes to Davd TEN-nant:

Youtube: Gracepoint Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvNd5gLiw24)

Fox, the same folks who tried to skew Medic 8 to American audiences, now decided that DT's Broadchurch accent sounded too genuine and needed to be translated for western ears. Along with all the other actors, the location, and the name.

DT reminds me of Hugh Laurie doing House.

I second this. The problems might be something to do with the filename, so if someone is kind enough to re-upload, perhaps this should be changed into something unfamiliar.

I actually think I know what the problem is.
I had sent my sister a dr0pb0x link to a video file once... she accidentally PLAYED IT from the link instead of DL-ing it.
The act of PLAYING the file caused a surge in bandwidth and so dr0pb0x suspended my external link privledges temporarily (just like in this case).
I had to go to the site and click a box that let me access public linking again (but they say if it happens again it could be revoked permanently).
It had NOTHING to do with the CONTENT (although, I did obfuscate the title just in case).
It was merely that she accidentally played the file instead of DL it.

That MAY have happened here.

Still... if anyone can repost it somewhere, I'm eager to check it out (and then compare & contrast to see and learn from the behind-the-scenes process).

This clearly isn't the case here. The error message is quite specific. (I certainly didn't have the opportunity to play the file!)

If there is anyone else that has this (renamed) file that can upload it, it would be very much appreciated. If you're worried about attracting attention by posting a link, you can always PM those who have asked for it .

Sorry, I don't wish to sound snarky, but It is not clearly the case, as this is the EXACT same error message that was put up in my situation.
The message merely states "too much traffic".
Well, NO ONE except ONE person had the link that I had sent.
Obviously that's not "too much traffic".
In MY earlier case scenario, it was that it was PLAYED.

And I'm not stating that ANYONE qho had the link could play the file (like yourself) once the block was put in place.
It would have to be one of the earlier DL-ers who may have accidentally done so.

I've seen other sites who state quite clearly that DL-ers should avoid PLAYING the files direct from the link as it eats up bandwidth, and that otherwise they'd have to cease posting links.

Of course, it MAY be in THIS case that there was indeed too much traffic.
This is a hot item on a public forum.

My situation was the 1st such video sent to ONE person.
Same end result (but she told me that she screwed it up by playing it).

The "I" story in the box set takes place after The Dark Flower as the Medic reading the book in the Sidrat library given to him in the episode Dark Flower.

The other story followed on from the Occlusion Village as the 2 ladies are being shown their rooms, and the medic is wondering what sort of personality he has.

So no, my bad it hasn't been posted here yet.

You'd think that some of the crew would drink with Villa?

It's not so fun to drink alone?

Del is young enough to not have any uncrossable rules about not drinking.

And if it is one of the woman who is drinking that much, she is going to make some stupid choices, but almost certainly not with Villa.

Jenna looks like she would be unphased from knocking back a brewery.

Villa would be asleep snoring while she's drawing cocks on his face with a marker pen.

There's going to be an episode where he'll get a cold.

Faking a blocked nose is way easier than faking at being 16.

Why is Tegan treating him like an Adult?

In retrospect even her friendship with Nyssa crossed a line, not a bad line, but if Nyssa was 17 and Tegan was 24, treating each other as equals should have been difficult... JESUS! In real life, Janet has 8 years on Sarah.

I have enjoyed the first story so far. It is an interesting one that goes back to a period that hasn't really been touched on in the audios so far.

THAT SAID, StarGrampys voice is just awful. I know, I know that he isn't a professional caricature voice actor, so pitching down to StarChilds levels is impossible.... I just... Imagine that Old version of him that lived with Bugs every time he talks.

Also, even some 20+ years later, these three companions are just way too much to be together in the same stories. One of them is constantly just hanging on as a useless third wheel.

Enjoying the story though like I said. At one point I almost felt like I was watching a classic episode instead of listening to an audio.

Hey folks,
A few comments and a question.

Question first:

In my continued viewing of all Medic just watched "Pl@net of F!re" with Medic 5 and co.
So, after Ginger-boy alien compatriot leaves, robot-with-bad-identity-complex gets zapped and M@istro gets roasted, Bikini-babe joins the Medic.
I know 5 regens to 6 in the next one, but from what I heard LC (and the books) seemingly has him having many years of adventures between "Fires" and "Andr0z@n!". (One source, probably with a bit of hyperbole) says "hundreds of years of adventures between the two episodes).

SO... IF the Chesticular-Faux-American-friend continues with Medic6, and she is mortal... then HOW do they rationalize the extended period between the two episodes?

Now for the comment:

I watched the "oopsie-we-let-it-out-to-the-public...again!" 2nd episode of 12 and WOW. Good stuff. Definitely harkens back to 9 with a touch of 4 and even some 1 in there, but he is definitely HIS OWN man/medic.
The 20-minute-in moment is a defining one, but not too much out of character with some other incarnations. I could see 10 doing that. Not 11 though.

Oddly enough I watched it RIGHT AFTER
R3$$UR3CTI0N of the P3PP3RP0T$ where the notion of pepperp0t-people-duplicates was started, and the pots REALLY start to get under the medic's skin...
and it seemed like a fluid transition. The events of one definitely could bridge to the other.

I can hardly wait for the real fully-fleshed out episode!
VERY excited!

---------- Post added at 10:36 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:13 AM ----------

OH!
I almost forgot...

the world keeps listing Turl0ug# as his LAST name - with V!$L0R as his first, BUT when prompted to give NAME, RANK and SERIAL number in "Pl@net of F!re", a soldier, prisoner, delegate (or person holding such identifying criteria) should always give LAST name (surname) FIRST, FIRST name LAST.

So his saying "V!$L0R TURL0UG#" should really be interpreted as "V!SL0R, "comma" TURL0UG#", so his name would be "Turl0ug# V!sl0r".
I can't be the first person to come to this conclusion, so what's the official explanation?
Script writer says "V.T." is his name? ...or years of error is just accepted as norm, (especially since it was then accepted and made as canon by later audio & book productions)?

Not trying to be "Mr. Smartypants", just trying to make sense of it.

Hi, all. I have a request. The LC story the Missile Guys. Anyone have it? Thanks! Here you are. Included the link for the Missile Guys Revisit as well. RQW <!--http://www.myfreemp3.eu/music/big+finish+the+rocket+men (click the top link for the full play) bf rocket men--both MP3 downloads | www.MyFreeMp3.us (http://www.myfreemp3.eu/music/bf+rocket+men--both) are the full plays despite what the running length says-->

the world keeps listing Turl0ug# as his LAST name - with V!$L0R as his first, BUT when prompted to give NAME, RANK and SERIAL number in "Pl@net of F!re", a soldier, prisoner, delegate (or person holding such identifying criteria) should always give LAST name (surname) FIRST, FIRST name LAST.

Maybe the people of Trion are like the Bajorans in that they use surname first followed by proper name. So, in fact, you are correct that his name would be Turlough Vislor - but custom dictates that he would be addressed as Vislor Turlough. Or maybe it was just a gaff on the writer's part since all media since have used Vislor as the character's first name.

10th Medic Parody of Let's Do the Time Warp from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Can't remember the name, but it's in the credits.

SO... IF the Chesticular-Faux-American-friend continues with Medic6, and she is mortal... then HOW do they rationalize the extended period between the two episodes?!

Beer.

Ever noticed how long a night can be when you're well and truly tanked, but the next day it seems just like a few hours?

Can't fault this reasoning. However, am I right in thinking the first companion to drink alcohol in the TV series is Rose Tyler?

I just assume the morning come round to early. Alcohol is some kind of time vortex lubricant.

Christ is that the time!

I'm a follower of Harmonology ("it's not a cult.") and was incredibly impressed with his segment. After hearing him hold the regular Harmontown podcast every week when it's safe to say he's drunk and stuttering quite a bit, it's gob-smacking to hear him being do clear and concise.

I actually had to double check it WAS him!

But, wow, I'd love to hear him read more stuff like that. I'd bet good money he'd be great at doing some Dashiel Hammet type stuff.

Definitely recommend you grab that free set whilst it's available.

Stupidbuttonmasher - I believe that the "100s of years" you mentioned, was supposed to be after the old crew left, and BEFORE he meets, "P"..... Or maybe I just don't understand the confusion?

You must try to explain how the Emperor Pepperpot from Evil of the Daleks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Evil_of_the_Daleks), might possibly be the final evolution of Davros, despite the schism that forked time in Genesis of the Daleks... Of course it then gets wibblywobbly when the Emperor shows up in The Parting of the Ways, and then Davros says "boo" 2 years later in Journey's End, so any sane bastard would have to wonder if these two "men" are different people or still the same dude who has crossed his own timeline one time too many.

The only thing in the Whoniverse that ever confused me was Leela, because I never saw her first story until Just before I finished the rest of her stories.

I just assumed the Emperor from The Parting of the Ways was emperor of the rebel faction.

guygardener

The Rebel Faction were led by the Supreme Dalek.

It's unlikely that the Supreme Dalek called his own forces "Rebels" since his lot had been ####ing over the galaxy while Davros had been sleeping for millennia, but the narrative was controlled by Davros who has been known to have intermittent delusional psychological issues with manicselfaggrandizement.

In Remembrance of the Daleks (1988) it is revealed that Davros, masquerading as the Emperor, has gained control of Skaro. He commands an army of Imperial Daleks, created by grafting bionic appendages onto the bodies of Kaled mutants.[7] The Supreme Dalek and its followers are now referred to by the Imperial Daleks as "renegades".

Supreme Dalek[edit]

A Supreme Dalek appears in "The Stolen Earth" and "Journey's End" (2008) as leader of the Dalek forces, outranking even Davros. This variant is a radical departure from the standard New Series design. It is painted red with gold hemispheres, collar and neck rings. It has three plinth-mounted dome lights featuring cages with three, rather than four uprights, and large golden clamps connecting its shoulders to an extended neck bin. Its voice is deeper than the other Daleks, resembling that of the 2005 series' Dalek Emperor. Nicholas Briggs, who provided the voice talent for the Dalek, stated that he adopted a grandiose delivery for the Supreme Dalek to fit his perception of the character as being egotistical.[70]

One of the early 90s James Bond music video's admitted to making a tragic error in the behind the scenes short film.

The "visionary" designing the music video thought that bit at the beginning of the movie where you see James down the nozzle of a gun barrel, they thought that that was a camera lens.

The entire music video was based around giant cameras.

Emperors New Clothes, y'know.

Medic 7 The Virus Gets Even.

The monthly is up and will stay up for the weekend.

Also, I picked up a copy of “The Specter of the Song House” from the LC Classics range when it was on sale. If anyone is interested in listening to it, just let me know and I'll upload it later this weekend.

I guess Mr. Bond had anger issues when it came to the paparazzi's photographing him.

Dwst4 yes I would like Spectre of the Song House, please.Funny thing about that story I've heard it mentioned in this board before but couldn't find it on the LC site. So I just assumed people were mistaking an audiobook of the story for an LC audio drama, until I recently was checking out the news on the LC site and found out about their 15th anniversary sale including spectre so I looked under their classic range and there it was. Weird huh?

I just checked the link and it comes up fine for me. Try downloading it directly from the site instead of using some kind of download manager. My download manager does not read Sendspace. I always have click on the links and download it directly.

Thoughts on the 5th medic stories? I think we could have done without waterboat. His voice is totally different so it's not easily identifiable with Aprick anyway. I thought Sachs did a fairly good job in the Young man that the hourglass could care less about. If I had a choice in the matter, I think i'd resurrect Kamelion from that era instead... Could have some really interesting stories with a shapeshifter...
