i agree that Nardol would be good but assuming that won't happen then someone like Ben Shepard. He reminds me of the late Roy Castle and I think that would be the sort of personality that would work as a companion.

What happened to freemake, jdownloader and free 24 hr movement downloader? Freemake won't download anything past 3 minutes without premium pack and j will take 11 hrs to download an 1 1/2 hr movie and I can't paste to motion. These were the video downloaders I used on my old laptop but now they've become practically useless what's up? By the way the Momentary Travel Device is out from LC might be on sound tome harbor by now.

Despite this the other day I saw the cover of a 5th LC battle medic set on the web.
Title - Engines of War. I realize there's a BBC extensive reading of this yarn, but it's only a reading.
The cover I saw was a full color LC montage that clearly stated LC and full cast audio production.
Yet I never saw it posted here or anywhere else, in fact I couldn't even find it on LC website.
If there's anyone out there who might have it, I certainly and everyone else of course would appreciate it so much if they be so good to share with all of us.

But just to further clearify things, I only would want the play's cover if would have available from the download alone and never would have wanted to be posted on site.

I think a lot of covers you see in the wild are photoshops of non-existent stuff from websites like DeviantArt. It's briefly exciting to think that there's a medic play you haven't heard only to find out that it only existed in the mind of the person who created the cover.

I've never had the opportunity to go to a Con before. Just trying to decide if I want to buy the three day pass or a one day. They still haven't posted the full schedule yet.

I've been to a few things like it. Been there for the whole day went home exhausted. But depending on how many celebs you want to meet depends on how long you should go for. Due to some of the more outlandish prices that people charge for autographs and photos I tend to find I have to pick and choose who to meet as can't afford everybody.

That's how my gf and I planned out going to AwesomeCon back in June. we went one day for me to get my photo op with Stan Lee and look around the place a bit. Ended up getting a Ten coat for $75 at that time, too! Then we spent the next day getting our photo ops with John Barrowman and Catherine Tate as well as getting autographs and doing our Ten (me) and Donna (her) cosplay. We also got to have Stan Lee sign my poster for the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie. Shame I didn't get to tell Stan the Man how much the webhead meant to my life, because they were quickly shuffling folks along through the line as he was signing our stuff, but that's fine. He's old and he's probably heard it all at this point. I'm just glad I got my poster signed and got to be in his presence for even a fleeting moment. Hell, he was the main reason I even went to AwesomeCon at all, because I knew the opportunity wouldn't happen again!

Just signed up as a volunteer to work the Con. If I get picked and work two shifts I'll get one day admission free and some sweet extras. Really hoping I get picked.

JD doesn't work with everything, if you have an issue with one of the plugins you need to go the JD forum and make a bug report to get it fixed if the plugin already existed.

This is such a simple fix... Try a different browser.

If that doesn't work, try jdownloader2, or something similar.

If you are copy and pasting into a browser, make sure you;re getting one of the arrows > < or adding a blank space which you are not supposed to add, that will change the url, and make the link seem broken.

I got my gf a CD copy of LC's adaptation of "Ever-Encompassing Flames" while we were at LI Who last year (this was before we were an official couple, btw) and she liked it but she also recognized the name of the original writer of the novel as someone who's also written some other Holmes novels that she has sitting on her shelf. :D

Unpacked the rar but cannot run it without virus protection screaming at me.

Hi, not sure if I missed it but did anyone happen to find the 4th lost audio (the fiery one) from the recent medic 12 series by Georgy Notwoman?

If you bought it from BF you get free download from their site anyway. If you didn't, then, bad luck.

Yeah, I've rarely had both my antivirus and anti-malware software freak out so much over a link! Tons of popups and new windows that set off lots of alarms. And if you got an executable file, that's because it tried to trick you into downloading something different a bunch of times. After many tries, I was finally able to get the actual download coming in. But I can't say if it's good or not, since it will take around an hour to download!

Slight change of subject: I was not impressed with Star Trek Discovery!
I thought the plot was slow & The Klingons looked awful! They'd been reduced to generic Trek/Babylon 5 style aliens & their outfits were just ridiculous (like Vogons at a glam rock festival)! And when they said The Klingons had killed Michael's parents - that was so clich�, it made me cringe! Other than that it wasn't too bad, I suppose.

I fully expect to be in the minority on this...

No you are not!
I wanted to like it, and yes it looks oh so pretty, however, this series in set 10 years before Kirk and co, and I am afraid that simply having the same sound effects on the bridge, but clearly technology WAY beyond the original series, simply does not do it for me! I don't care if TOS was made in 60's.... Its look, style and feel was and is part of what makes Trek so damn good, and there is no way this modern so called prequel looks or feels like it takes place before that series! Also don't get me started on the Klingons! JESUS WEPT, WHAT THE F%@K is that about! (yeah I know TOS Klingons were different from movie and Next Gen onwards Klingons, But the Great Bird of the Galaxy Expressed and cleared that point up YEARS ago, besides ENTERPRISE also had that style of Klingon, at that actually is supposed to be prior to THIS series in the time line!)

I liked Discovery a lot. The novel's pretty damn good so far, too.

I found it so-so tbh. The mystery for me - is that the end of Michelle Yeoh? If so, seems a waste of a main star.

Also, where was Jason Isaacs?

I liked it but only because it seemed to setting up events for a different type of Star Trek. The season preview at the end of episode 2 looks intriguing. It's almost like they were too scared to dive straight in so had to spend 2 episodes doing predictable Trek to ease people in for the actual series. Maybe it would have been better to do this prologue as a single episode opener.

The cover and trailer for December's release have just been put up on LC's site. You're not wrong, though. Maybe they wanna keep things close to their chest regarding next year's stuff. I hope we're in for some great stories next year. I've been mulling over doing a year subscription for the monthlies next year.

I like that they're doing different things with Eight, but I definitely understand where you're coming from. In fact, I actually asked Nick Briggs at LI Who last year if there were plans to do more Eight stories in the monthlies with Mary Shelley, because I really loved those 3 stories that came out back in 2011. Nick said his usual "no plans" spiel, but was happy that someone out there enjoyed them because he said they did that trilogy as a kind of emotional pallet-cleanser for Paul following the finale of the 8DAs with Lucie Miller, as well as allow him to play Eight in his early days again before they delved back into the much darker stuff with his character arc with "Dark Eyes".

Trust me you are not. I watched the two part premiere and came away justified that my earlier criticisms were completely warranted. CBS managed to get everything completely wrong and created a series that bore absolutely no resemblance to anything even remotely resembling Star Trek - past or future. It came off like a bad bastardization of the Abrams Trek films except, unlike the Abramsverse series, couldn't manage to get the look and feel even half right. And don't even get me started on the complete disregard for 50 years of established Trek canon. I seriously hope that Discovery dies the quick and painful death it so lovingly deserves, and this comes from a life long Trek fan who sat through four painful years of ENTERPRISE hoping it'd get better....we all know how that turned out.

I've been watching Trek for more than 40 years. Yeah. I REALLY wanted to like it. But honestly, it's not sure whether it wants to be funny or sincere Trek. But it fails miserably at both. I'm not sure if I'm going to even bother to watch past the third episode to see if it gets better. Meanwhile the actual Trek show definitely reeled me in, especially with the third episode, where we meet most of the actual recurring cast.

The Classic site of VK is now listed as a private community, only members approved by the administrators can access. There are some people who thought they were members but are locked out for some reason.

Now being a life long trek fan, I was really looking forward to this new series, however after 3 episodes, It really is not grabbing me one bit! It just feels.... I dunno...not Trek at all.
I wont go into the minutiae of what niggles me about it, except to say I have many, many issues with it. I could live with it better if it were a reboot as it is so wrong on so many levels, but as a prequel...it leaves much to be desired!
As for the Orville, I expected to hate it with a passion, however I actually found it to be great fun. It actually FEELS more like trek, even with the fart and knob jokes!

Hell, a few months ago, I went on a tangent about "Farscape" on here because I was doing a big re-watch of my DVDs. Now I'm planning to get my gf into the show, because she loves the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies, and James Gunn has gone on record saying that "Farscape" was a major influence on the tone he was going for with "Guardians". Hell, Ben Browder (John Crichton) himself made a cameo during the second movie and used his PeaceKeeper accent for the role. It was awesome!

True, but the personalities of the characters in the comics were totally different from how they are in the movies. But I'm still looking forward to showing her "Farscape", because she recently got me an action figure of Scorpius off of eBay... :D

Just goes to show, with the greatest of respect to all tastes and to all people, that you cant please everyone! But that's just like most things in life, you cant please all of the people, all of the time, and as our esteemed friend here, Chuck Kaled has stated, Trek was not really his thing before and he is loving it! Things change, things evolve....this Trek (thus far), is not my Trek, but I have had many years of Trek that is, HOWEVER, this trek is reaching out to people, as Charles has stated, that the prior Trek did not!

Absolutely. I'm a Trek fan of many years standing and I love what they're doing with Discovery. Two long standing Trek fans I know think it's fantastic. Some people don't. And that's fine, if it's not for you then walk away. There'll probably be another Trek along one day that's more to your liking. The one thing I don't really care for (sorry Webs01) is "fans" who want something to be cancelled because it isn't to their personal taste. If you feel so outraged that you would wish to deprive others of enjoyment then you really are too close and really do need to walk away. This goes for the medic too, a number of people want Jodie to fail. I'm not convinced it'll work but I'm not one of those who wish it cancelled. If you feel like this then enjoy the 53 years worth of programmes you have and LC's output and leave the show to others.

I agree. It is a shame, this thread started as an audio thread and morphed into a community that could and would talk about almost anything. Maybe over time it might revert back to that again.

Unfortunately it only takes 1 asshole to make everyone else think 'why bother' and wander off. With VK slamming it's doors and most torrent sites falling away, this was kind of the last refuge for many people. So very, very sad :(

I really hope that doesn't happen. I enjoy being here. Sometimes I can't reply as often because of work but the core part of the group is the great!

It's not a dig at you at all, far from it. Many people on here rely on your uploads and you deserve every bit of rep you get. I'm just remembering a time when you'd have posters like DWST, Bulletzen and, yes, Jawamaster (hi jawa!) posting links to their own original uploads. That time, sadly, is long gone and many of these people are sadly missed on here. There comes a point when you have to wonder why.

Personally, I've enjoyed the thread a lot more since the big 'walkout' of certain sharers All they ever seemed to do was complain about how demanding & selfish everyone was & go on endlessly about what a terrible place it was & why they weren't posting here anymore. We've had quiet periods before though. The huge gaps between televised medic (and the radio silence from Chibbers' camp) probably doesn't help things; and personally I haven't much time to myself for internetting at the moment.

Also, I do think there have been a few periods when this thread has had a lot of reactionary offence-taking (leading to others' extensive efforts to clarify things in order to avoid offence-taking). It often stops me from posting opinions about medic-y things.

I do love it when Auntie finishes incomplete stories, sometimes the CGI is a bit jarring but we put up with that, as it is the only time we will get to see a final version. I would love it if they actually get round to doing this for all the lost stories, but alas, I know it is a pipe dream.

I agree with you! I wish they would too! However the fantasy, unrealistic fool in me, wishes they would spend millions and get the Pixar quality animation that I personally think it deserves! lol like you said, its a pipe dream! (Because I know that the costs would NEVER be regained, so it will never happen before anyone tells me how ridiculous my suggestion is!)

I agree. It is a shame, this thread started as an audio thread and morphed into a community that could and would talk about almost anything. Maybe over time it might revert back to that again.

Agreed. There's nothing I look forward to more (Who-wise - I'm not completely sad). I got so excited about Power Of The Daleks (Ok, I'm a bit sad).
