The price seems to have changed. It is now 1.99, still pretty good though!

It said 1.99 when I got mine, but it changed to 1.66 at checkout, so hopefully it'll still be the case.

Agreed! Alex Kingston is fantastic and played her really well, but I've NEVER been entirely convinced that SM really knew EXACTLY what he was doing with the character.

Upon revisiting every prior multi-medic affair, I viewed Los Dos Medicos for the very first time... rather nice, that! Better than anticipated! (Then again, Dos always was marvelous) Highly recommended!

I hope the one coming in October means that the Beeb will let BF have DT in their stable. I can imagine him being prolific! CE is unlikely and MS is a maybe post-Doctor (though probably likely later in his career--depends on that Hollywood plan that keeps coming up). I can see DT easily willing to do his own monthly spin-off (and it would probably be the best-seller).

Agreed, although I understand a new and separate licence would have to be signed to use any new series Doctors. The Beeb has been understandably reticent as there might be conflict with their own ongoing series. I sincerely hope you're right and this has been resolved. I would love to hear CE in a new specially written series of adventures. The Big Finish Fourth Doctor series has worked for me, if a bit hit and miss in places. They certainly seemed to improve as they went along, and the last two of the first series I found very enjoyable.

Hi Radionaut, I've checked the disc and it seems my computer is particularly sensitive to the slightest smudge so I've cleaned the disc up, listened to the tracks in question so they definitely play ok now at my end and I'm re-ripping it now. I'll hopefully have a better link up quite soon.

Take it easy TTROY you sound like you're having a seizure! btw i totally agree with you about the character. total dead end. one thing is the actress having been involved in many projects, another to have a character contribute something to the series. the fact that no one has taken up the story where it left off so many years ago says it all. all i can hope is that this year focuses on the QUESTION and the MEDIC. Series one and two was all about flower power, series 3 saw the last minute save of the medic-in-training, series four was a tribute to all the no-so-famous temps in history, series 5 and 6 were all about the expert mother-daughter swim team. Can we please have a series where the MEDIC isn't out shined by one of his many lady-friends? I think something pretty nasty happened to her in Who Killed Kennedy. Maybe you should write your own fan fiction? I suggest you have her being cybernetically converted at the same time as being hit by a stray dalek extermination beam at the same time as being stomped on by a diplodocus during the dinosaur invasion of the 70s. That should do it.

As Guy said, there's linking/descriptive narration from a cast member so they become, more or less, very enhanced audiobooks.

And they work very well indeed. "Marco Polo" stands out in particular as the seven episodes trot along nicely down to the linking script and Russell's performance of it.

I met Zenia Merton at a "Space:1999" event held by Fanderson at Pinewood studios a few years back, and she kidly signed my booklet for said story. "Gosh darling, that was a long time ago. I agree that calibre doesn't do a great job of converting. But it used to do a better job. Previous to May last year you could get a readable epub/mobi out of it. Still distracting with the occasional extra line break but usable. Then they futzed with the program and last I checked it still inserts a line break after every line from the original pdf. To get around this problem, I dl'd the portable version of calibre from early April (available on their very own website) and go through the hassle of importing pdfs into that, converting them, exporting, import into new calibre, and finally reconvert so I can take advantage of the most recent features. Not perfect but workable.

Essentially 5+N find him again back at the dawn of time, much older (played by Andrew Sachs) , and he's gone completely nuts. To all-intent-and-purpose he attempts to try and rape N ..

If memory serves he has a particularly nasty end again due to some space/time/spider-like-things.

I'd say your best and quickest bet would be to discover the joys of Usenet. With a free three day trial with somewhere like hitnews dot com you should still be able to grab the flood that was posted last year (September ... ish) and the updates since then.

I've always found his work to be insipid and barely readable, and that includes Artemis Fowl, so I'm hardly surprised to hear it's dreadful. Let's hope we'll get better authors from now on. Philip Pullman, anyone?? ;)

I agree to the Phillip Pullman, and that the first book was...atrocious? Is that the right word? Anyways back to the pullman one of the best series I ever read was His Dark Materials, though I could also go for Chris Wooding or Garth Nix.

I really enjoyed the Fowl series, but, yeah, THAT book for HH was so terrible I honestly can't remember what the heck it was about.

But what utterly flabbergasts me about this one is just how far he's missed the mark in terms of 'tone' for this one. Really doesn't feel like the 1st I know. Not even close.

Had a hard drive failure just after new year, luckily managed not to lose too much but I can't find the last two parts of medic 4's snake head related story - SC4 sounds like "the specs-ford abrasion" and SC5 - sounds like "sir fivers inns place". I've checked the forum back to p50 but haven't spotted them. Anyone know where they are that could point me in the right direction or maybe could repost them? Sickeningly I listened to the first 3 parts before I realised I was missing the end...

True, reading any of his stuff can get a bit tedious, but a once more couldn't hurt. n.n It's like the Wheel of time series, love it or hate it, waiting for the final book in that one has been a task for only the most devoted, and has in my opinion been well worth the wait. Speaking of which what would you think of tapping Brandon Sanderson for a book? His Mistborn series was intriguing to say the least.

An update on my U.N.I.T. Project: We have a four cast member! I thought for sure this little endeavor of ours was only going to feature the three of us two of whom are identicle twins and as such sound very much the same. My Scottish accent is improving... I think. Our script is finally picking up, Act 1 is almost complete.

Hopefully the production will be finished by the summer, but who knows. I'm stressing quality over simplistic fanfic, why? If other people who end up listening to the finished product cringe at it, that's ok. A bit of a bummer, but ok. If WE end up cringing at it, then it would be a travesty.
So this may end up push back our release farther back then anticipated.

So that's our update. Wish us luck!

That 1st Med book WAS horrible. He got the tone all wrong and some lines are down right insulting to the reader & to the med. Absolutely atrocious garbage. Pullman would be nice - his latest book (which I listened to as unabridged audio) was quite interesting and enjoyable. Luckily the 1st med comic was much better.

As far as Brian Cox goes i cannot suggest "McLevy" highly enough. It's my probably favorite non Medic audio drama ever. It just wrapped up it's 9th amazing season.

Also, don't know if anyone's mentioned it before - but if you're not listening to "Minister of Chance", give it a go on some headphones. It stars Paul McGann, Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred, Paul Darrow, Tamsin Greig, Jenny Agutter & sooo many others. And the best part about it is --IT"S FREE!!! As for the regeneration limit - I think that's already gone out of the window. It's been a long time since I watched it but didn't the Daleks exterminate The Master at the beginning of the '96 movie and use his remaining regenerations?

Not sure where he was in his time-line though, so it could still be in his future.

I sort of figured that absorbing all the Vortex energy may have changed the regens a bit. Kinda like Jenny regenerating but staying the same. She's a clone after all.

G'day all. My birthday last Thursday (31st Jan). I finally ordered and purchased books 2 & 3 of the Time Unincorporated series - The Doctor Who Fanzine (and blog) Achives. Worth getting for $25 Aust. No epub found, but the book is fantastic. All little essays, simular to what DWM used to do before the new series. If anyone has Volume 1, tell me what it's like as it's all essays by one guy - Lance Parkin - which didn;t seem interesting enough to buy. (Book 2 is classic series and book 3 is new 2005+ series).

You just need to be more careful with filenames when uploading. I usually remove the data from the ID4 tags as well, just to be on the safe side.

Totally new to the board, and to sharing in general, but have a huge audio collection (including many current B*I*G* Endings subscriptions). What I don't know is how to upload - are there any forums that go over the basics? I see many people upload to file-sharing sites, but others seem to upload directly to the board.

Just received the first episode of the new V*I*E*N*N*A series from B*I*G Endings and would like to up it, but am really not sure how.

Also, desperately looking for series 2 of S*H*E*R*L*O*C*K H*O*L*M*E*S from the same company, plus the T*I*T*A*N*I*C-related story (not considered part of series 2, I think).

So, to anyone that could point me in the right direction for some info about upping, I'd be eternally grateful. This is my first post, so I assume I can't receive PMs yet.

Totally new to the board, and to sharing in general, but have a huge audio collection (including many current B*I*G* Endings subscriptions). What I don't know is how to upload - are there any forums that go over the basics? I see many people upload to file-sharing sites, but others seem to upload directly to the board.



I got a free mediafire account and downloaded a programme called 7z. All you do is rip your cd, drag the folder across to 7z to be compressed, click on upload on mediafire, drag the compressed folder to the upload window, click begin and bob's your uncle. Then just click share next to your file on mediafire, get the link for your uploaded file, copy it, post on here, click the link icon as your compose your message and paste the link. Job done.

I'm really trying to find that post on RWQ - I'm assuming it means "Reply With Quote", but does this mean to PM the individual? And if you're posting it, do you just send the link to whoever replies to to you?

oh yeah I forgot to ask, has anyone heard that ultavox classic from LC yet? if so whats it like? I didnt think the character had the legs for a solo tale after her tale with the medic, but I may be wrong
