Most people love the first film in a franchise the most. For me, BB comes last.

However, out of the current 4 (soon to be 5), the 1st Transformers will always be my favorite. Film and score. So I can relate.

When people discuss the trilogy generally, Begins is the one least brought up. There are still people, like me, that like it the best.

3 is the best for me. Never cared to finish 4. 2 is trash. 1 is okay.

TDK and TDKR are Tied For Me I Like No One Better Than The Other.

I Hate The First Half, Its Too Slow For Me.

Which one? I feel that all of them have good reason to be slow. It's supposed to be more intelligent than your normal superhero flick, so of course it's more slower paced. It's also a taste thing as well, so it can be justified in that alone.

I would have to pick BB as my favorite.
It really establishes the story.
Bruce Wayne really becomes a character and it's not all about the mask.

2 and 3 are great fun. It's really hard to pick any.

The only reason I watch Transformers 2 is because of the Big Screen/IMAX edition.
Otherwise, it's very plain without the aspect ratio switching.
The same goes for AoE. The IMAX scenes stand out and the audio mix is very dynamic as it's an Atmos movie. On a 5.1 system, it stands out over other standard 5.1 movies.
But it still requires a lot to sit through the entire film. You raeaaaaaally start to miss Shia LaBoof.

DotM is great overall. The story is tolerable and the sound design is excellent, even if it's not Atmos.
They really upgraded the graphics in 3.

They did again in 4 but you can't tell because of the new sleek designs they went for.
They've adopted an entirely new art style for everything in that movie. All the bots got a make-over that you can't even tell they added more moving parts to the CG.
It was talked about prior to the release, but no one believed it and thought the trailers were incomplete products.
That's just the poor animation style they picked for the CG.
you can look back at the part where poor Stanley Tucci talks about "the future" and how it should sound when the doors open for customers.
The entire movie can be summed up to that little scene. We wanted "the future" sound but ended up with some placid sound effect.

BB is a great film but it does have its slower moments. TDK is my favourite, TDKR a close second. Both have great villains in Joker and Bane although Bane didn't deserve to die the way he did. His introduction was one of the greatest opening film sequences in recent years and it established him as a force to reckon with! Heath Ledger's Joker was criminally insane and a menace throughout. Some people say he only got the Oscar because he sadly passed away but I say he would've nailed it anyway. This Joker blew Nicholson's Joker out of the water for me, although that's comparing apples to oranges; makes no sense.

Transformers is easy: the first one is the best by far. I still get chills every time the Autobots enter the hemisphere and you here "Arrival to Earth". Fantastic score.
Personally I prefer DotM over TF2. John Torturro is a great actor and lots of fun but they kind of went overboard in the long run. John Malkovich's character was bananas and I kept thinking "wtf is he doing there?". McDreamy was dumb as F$# and his character and entire subplot was completely unnecessary. AoE was cool but it should have come sooner, it should've been the end of a trilogy with LeBoeuf and Fox.

TF > DotM > AoE. That would've been it. And no creators crap subplot. That's just milking it for another four films.

So far no origin episode.
But since it's a TV series, I imagine it's later on and the whole series is out of order.

I actually remember some of these things.
James not Logan, some being not Jean, and I remember Wolverine actually being totally dead in the future for the FOX animated series, Juggernaut's powers not being from mutation.

I had friends who read the comics.
Went to see X3 with them and they at the end they were shocked.
Without Cyclops, there's no Cable and then everything else goes horribly wrong from there.

The bastardization of all the film/tv mediums has just been the only material I have contact with.
I really can't sit through or bother to think about the comics.
So many spin-offs, different generations of comics, even if the same line, surely must change things over the years.

This is where digests come in handy.
If I'm bored and itching for a "comic" to read, I have several digests to the DC universe. Namely Batman digests.
The Killing Joke is my favorite.

I've got Bane's very long digest that covers a great deal. And it's only volume 1.
It's just the very first story isn't that appealing to me.

Like I said, it's just because they want to remain independent. The only way they could ship faster to Europe would be making a deal with some label (like Varese did with Colloseum in Germany) and then everyone would get their stuff, but eh. Most of their stuff is limited anyway so kinda has no use..

I believe they can't do anything about it, really. The shipping is so expensive because that's how it is, they don't put the price.

It seems okay but not the kind of thing for me. Since it's a TV show, it looks like so, it.. doesn't look as fantastic as the movies do. Doesn't have that "hero epic" that movies do. But then again this is just the begining. It just.. seems nothing new to me. Why is everyone praising it?

I Never Understood Why Pokemon Is Praised As It Is, I Watched One And Still Feel The Same. I Just Like The Music.

That's okay. I'm not even saying Supergirl is a bad show. It's okay. It just I was told it was way more awesome than what it seems now.

I always get emotionally attached to anything I watch regularly, because I feel as if I connect to the characters. Supergirl was one of those shows that really made me feel different emotions, all at once, and the music, now that it's out, I can't wait to own it, and I also can't wait to pick up all of the Blu-rays for all 4 shows. Arrow started it all, of course, and it remains one of my favorite shows on the air currently, because they are the only shows I watch. (Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Arrow) To me, they are all amazing shows, and that's why I have such 'hype' for them, but in the end it doesn't matter, yours (or anyone's opinion for that matter) will never change the feelings and emotions I get when watching those shows.

Pilot episodes are always very different from the rest of the product.

Heroes used temp tracks from Batman Begins all the way through.
It was really hard to watch. Even the blurays kept the temp score.
They didn't bother scoring new score for it because the fans loved it so much.

I loved The 100 when it first started but it's gotten way out of hand now, they've gone too far with it.
A cool concept for a TV series that, in my humble opinion, got ruined after Season 2.

I liked John Carter a lot. I was finally able to find an actual 2D bluray copy to use as a remux.

Most places have just the 3D bluray. Their logic is that 2D can be extracted from 3D and still be watched as 2D.
True, but, usually with 3D movies, they add a lot of black bars on the left margin to allow for greater parallax to create 3D since 3D TV's can't do it.
The black bars not only vary in size, but can also be seen at angles.
Guardians of the Galaxy is the worst for the black bars in 3D.

Finalyl getting around to watching The VVitch all the way through.

I found it on one of the externals. Buried deep in a folder I rarely look.

So far...
It should be a survival game.
Not just the farming aspect, but the spiritual part, too.

The story so far?

The oldest daughter is taking his perverted brother to town and he's fixing to sell a horse, I gather, so they don't have to send the daughter away to work for another family.

The family is horrible.
The mother is just wicked to the oldest daughter, which makes me think she's from a different mother. A female bastard that the father took in.
She does not ever let a moment go by to treat the daughter like garbage. She'll accuse her of things and never let her speak.
Automatic blame.

The twins are just ghastly. :notgood: I get their kids and all, but these are just demons.

The oldest son is just confused by all this religion. Born of sin, not baptized baby brother, etc.
He's worrying himself too much about where he's going, even after his father tells him that when his time comes, he'll be judged once and only by their Lord.
But none of it still makes sense to him, because of recent events, he fears for his baby brother's soul and then his own.
Aside from eye-groping the living hell out of the potential of a nip slip from his own sister, he's a decent kid.
He does the chores and protects his family as best he could.

The oldest daughter getting picked from the twins and her own mother is living the typical female teenager life.
Growing up, being misunderstood, trying to survive.
But then she has a really stupid side, too. Mostly because of the stress her family gives her.
She has to take the crap from her dad, even if it's not her fault, her dad's just trying to keep the peace.
Her form of rebellion is too childish. Telling her sibling that she's the witch.
What teenager wouldn't scare the living crap out of their sibling under such constant stress?

And the poor father.
All he does is try to keep the family from tearing each other apart and preaches a lot to try calm them.
At this point, I don't know if he's preaching to use to aid them and make light of things, to use religion as a crutch.
To give them guidance. But he's desperately trying to keep them alive.
He has to take the worst of it. I can see him trying to look for an answer and make good because of the situation he's in with his wife.

At this point, they didn't really disclose why they were exiled from their old community.
Except for prideful conceit, they don't really give much more exposition on what happened.
He called them false Christians.
They were probably corrupt to a certain fashion.
I don't know yet.

But, so far, it seems like it's just one dysfunctional family with zero luck.

The witch that took the baby, it was too obscured to see what happened but it was merely implied.
For all we know, later it will reveal that the old woman was just demented using the black arts (not wiccan nor pagan) and did whatever her senile mind thought of.
It could be a case of a mental disorder that wasn't common or known back then and just left to witchcraft as a means of rational understanding in a False Christian world.
Her crime would ultimately be human and nothing spiritual of any nature, if that be the case.
For in solitude of the mind with no direct external influence, it's just a sickness of the mind.
Certainly not Satanic. Inhumane, yes. But not Satanic.
Come Salem, things will change when a pair of Inquisitors write the Malleus Maleficarum and put an end to the inexplicable acts man can do.

That's just the first half of the movie so far.

I can guess that the witchcraft that happens is just a form of rebellion for women to escape the miserable lives of starving and poverty-stricken families they're born to. And such a new niche is likely to draw in crazy people.

It would be neat if it was just a psychological thriller to be exactly that.

If it were to be about real witches with real power, they have to be a different breed of witches.
Not the Wiccan nor Pagan kind. Something else entirely, something that is indeed evil.
Something that doesn't go by the name of a witch, anyhow.

tehƧP@ƦKlyANK -Ⅲ
07-23-2016, 01:24 PM
What an interesting ending!

Although one can still see it that she died and went crazy with the very last part being part of her lunacy before death.

The son was quite out of state before he passed.
They were all insane before they died, actually.

She most likely would have starved to death.
At least they didn't make it so she got stabbed by her mother to make it look like she died of a mortal wound.
That's something any other movie would have done.

The very last bit after she awakes is interesting.
Nice take on making a human dressed in black for Black Philip.

I wonder how often people died from such goats back then.

John Carter was great. I'm convinced that the only reason it didn't make money was that Disney didn't market it correctly at all.

Poor marketing was part of its problem. But it was a crap movie that looked like a ripoff of the Star Wars Prequels. Plus Kitsch has about as much on screen charisma as a outbreak of herpes.

Same, Personally I Have Always Been More Of A DC Fan Compared to Marvel (Not That I Do Not Like The Films)
What I Also Like It That We Did Not Have to Wait For Every Character To Have An Origin Film Before The First Team Up, All The Charcters Are Being Explored Thru Various Films.

I'm talking about the melodies at the beginning, you hear a lot of music like that in any reality show.

Though, if 0:39 - 0:49 (https://youtu.be/la1nmYUjLdo?t=39s) was used, and other sections with similar music? Yeah, I would not like that. Those sort of melodies are what do not belong in a 'reality' show!

I wonder if I'm the only one who hates logo plastering in movies.

It was funny to me, I like it.

ManRay, logo plastering is not what you mean. That is product placement. Logo plastering is when, for example, an old movie begins with an old version of the logo of the studio from the time it was released, and for a new release, they plaster it with the new version of the logo.

No, it's good.

It's a montage of the actors. That's the sort of stupid idea a misguided fan would come up with. It even looks fan-made.
If I go to see Doctor Strange it won't make sense to see the heads of a bunch of characters whom I won't even see in this film.

Their first logo, with the comic pages flipping, was the best.
Change for the sake of change always leads to messes.

Pretty much all the DC trailers sucked. Except for Suicide Squad's, of course. Whoever runs the marketing for that film knows what s/he's doing.

There were parts of the Lego Batman trailer I liked and others I didn't.
The JL trailer was laughably bad.
I was pretty interested in the WW movie until I realized she'd have some dumbass sidekick the whole time.

They are just tremendous wannabes who just want cash and don't care about the quality of their movies. Everyone complains that Marvel took so long to make their shit together but at what coast? At the coast of nice scripts and a nice believable universe. DC Comics is just hurrying it all up in 2 movies just to get all the hype and cash from fans. Meanwhile the script and movies are just edgy and dark movies that lack everything.. "look at us, our colorization is dark, and we say bad words, and there's blood, look aren't we so adult?"

I only have DuckTales: Remastered and Shovel Knight of his. Shovel Knight is all right (I like "Steel Thy Shovel", "One Fateful Knight", "Strike the Earth! (Plains of Passage)", and "The Starlit Wilds (Campfire Scene)", etc, all pretty well.)

His arrangements and 8- bit remakes of the original songs from DuckTales: Remastered I thought were done really well. He seems to compose some decent 8-bit music, which you don't see as much nowadays.
