I don't care if it's illegal or not - the Student Union does it the whole time, and other groups have hired out lecture rooms for film showings too. It's really no different to watching it at home with friends, as someone already owns the DVD.

I'd think it's okay since it's a film university, it'd be a fair use, I guess. Besides if like you say it's people who have the DVDs and all, it's legal, it's simply watching a movie with your friends.

You're going to be shocked - but I actually really enjoyed it. Everybody knows me and how I always have the highest of expectations for every film I see (to put it in perspective, even Fury Road let me down some), so naturally I had high expectations for this. And it wasn't a Grade A, Oscar-calibur film, but it was still entertaining. It was both an homage and a spoof of the 80's slasher genre. Funny, too. And very original. I highly recommend it. I'm buying the Blu-ray soon and the physical CD release (it's Varese) when it's released on December 4th.

Gotta say, I've completely forgotten how clear and well the audio sounds on a Apple mobile compared to a Samsung device, I'm considering perhaps buying a 64GB iPod in the near future, but sadly the whole matter of importing and exporting music/pictures through iTunes has proven less versatile in comparison to my GT-19300.

Depends on the app you use.
I recommend Neutron music player.
http://neutronmp.com/
It costs under $10, but worth it, imo.
It has a lot to offer and also supports way more codecs than any Apple device will.
Apple is limited to propriatary codecs while Android can virtually use any codec, as long as they honor the license agreements.

Android only has the Z+ music apps for DTS:X Headphone.
With in-app purchases to buy the whole album or some tracks.
The tracks are probably encoded with DTS:X Headphone and the app has its own decoder.
It would be nice to replicate.
But DTS says the software to create DTS:X Headphone is not for home consumers.
What's for us is the Z+ music and select movies with DTS:X Headphone encoded tracks.
Z could stand for the z plane (

Only reason it says "16bit" for the AAC track is because the phone outputs to 16bit.
AAC has no real bit depth since it's a lossy format.
But the phone can't output 24 or 32, so it puts out at 16.
Whether it dithers or just truncates, is beyond my knowledge.

There's a tumblr I want to do where it's nothing but actors blinking.
Some blink so funny you'd swear they do it on purpose.
And then there's those who really exaggerate their mouth when they talk.
It's like watching Tom Hanks have a stroke.

Indeed it is. And I'm sure they're pressuring Pixar to produce almost nothing but sequels for the next few years to ensure surefire hits. The Good Dinosaur's lukewarm reception is also going to hurt Pixar's chances of producing further original films, I'm sure.

You say the same about the Peanuts Movie but I'm sure you'd like this one and the Good Dinosaur too if you watch them. Wait til they're for download or anything and you'll see if you were right or not. Pixar, by the way, just like MARVEL, works on their own, at least creatively. If they want to make sequels it's because they want to. I don't know why such huge negativity, Inside Out was a huge hit and a spark of creativity, don't forget Coco, by the way, and don't you compare it to the Book of Life, which was a beautiful movie too. By Schultz's will, I think there can't ever be a Peanuts movie or special or anything based in a new story, it has to be based on the strips. That's why the movie doesn't sucks, it's basically taken off the strips.

By the way, has anyone noticed how, since the dawn of 3D and since Wreck-it-Ralph Disney has produced all of their animated movies in 2.40 SCOPE? Keep them coming, I love that format. It gives a great cinematic feel, and more to see in the huge screen cinemas. I like that Zootopia is done in that format. Dunno why Frozen was done in 2:20 but I do not like that.
My two favourite aspect ratios are 1:85 and 2:35-40

And I think you mean:

1:85 would look horrible. :p
I don't mind any aspect ratio.
My favorite have to be IMAX AR's (for home media, it gets transitioned to 1.78:1).
I really like it when they alternate.

I know a lot of places have issues uploading trailers.
This one had problems, depending who uploaded it.
It's the same thing with 3D movies coming out, no studio wants a 3D trailer out on youtube because it never conveys accurately what it will be like in theaters.
No matter the monitor, tv, software, hardware.
A lot of 3D converted (over/under,side-by-side) trailers have been converted in the past couple years, but it's only going to resemble what it will look like on 3D bluray.

Ah yeah.
70mm has different AR's.
QT is using:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/70_mm_film#Panavision_and_the_65.2F70mm_format
2.76:1
"one of the widest ever used in commercial cinema"
2.20:1 is the other format.
2.76:1 became too expensive.
---------- Post added at 05:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:07 PM ----------
Cropped black bars gives:
1920x698
Which has an AR of 2.751:1
Which is near 2.76:1.
With home digital, it's impossible to get exactly 2.76:1 because of limitations in the colorspace.
All video on the internet is in YV12 (4:2:0).
So are DVD's and BD's.
To get actual 2.76:1, the colorspace would have to be in YV24 (4:4:4) or RGB.
But those are non-standard colorspaces for home mediums.
Unless you record something yourself with a camera.
So we'll have to take it with the slight AR error.

VGM consists of many different genres. I know there will be some you like. You liked that Ecco The Dolphin Defender of the Future song I posted last month. There is also a lot of VGM that sounds like film music, such as Medal of Honor.

Just finished the Family Guy episode "And then there were fewer" wow, that was actually a nice one. Better than I expected. It does very well in the "mistery" premise.

I just found THIS over Facebook and I'm so happy, I saved it, I love this kind of thing, art, and lineart and all of that, and the process of animation, you really see all the detail and work into it. @James P Sullivan, you gotta see this, you're gonna love it as much as I am:
