Getting ready to start TWD season 5 premiere with my little brother, "No Sanctuary". My favorite episode to date.
I almost like Peter more in Avengers than I do in X-Men.
Wut
I thought AoU in general sucked and I just really did not like ATJ's take on the character. Granted I don't read comic books so I can't say which interpretation of the character was the faithfuly one, but I loved Evan Peters' version in DoFP. It left me wanting to see more of the character, which I think was the intention. And now he has a much larger role in Apocalypse. Yay.

His death really got me in the feels, as EMJ said.
There is something about AoU that feels like an exact carbon copy of the first movie.
It's still all about the team trying to work as a team.
They still use the Hulk as a weapon.
I think there was too much background story for the two humanoids (Barton, Romanoff).
And the messy love story for Romanoff. At this point, the way she flirts with everyone in every movie she's in, I liked her better when she's just fighting.
A fan edit could do it justice to crop out some of the elongated stories that hold back the picture, mostly of action.

Well the song was excellent (better than Casino Royale and MUCH better than that GOD awful song from Quantum). The score I enjoyed as well, but it's a little repetitive. Casino Royale's score just never lets up. It's such a treat to listen to.

I heard that Quantum/Spectre organizations have a huge arc.
When he did once Quauntum was done, he had 3 more to complete the Q/S organization arc: Skyfall, Spectre and a third one.
And then all the rumors who's going to take over the Bond role.
A lot of rumors and speculation.
At one point, people wanted BBC's Luther lead actor, Idris Elba, but execs have said that he's too "street" to play the role.
He was great in Luther. A tad too violent and crude for the debonair spy, though.
I would still say he's good for Bond.
could always sell the rights to Lionsgate. That'll justify a hard-R rating with Elba.

Well I hope you and Mr. Gold have heard correctly and he is doing more. I think he is very good in the role. I heard about the Idris Elba thing some time ago. I think that they'll go younger when they recast. I could be wrong, but that's my intuition...

All the discs are just lined up there, no protection or anything.
They made no attempt to put "Planet of the Turtleoids" on the correct disc (it's still slapped on the season 10 disc as a "bonus feature"). So I think it's just all the previous releases in one big package.

This isn't a current update but last night I (finally) watched Drive as rescored/curated by BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe. I'm amazed Winding Refn agreed to have some fool like Lowe even touch a virtually perfect soundtrack. With an endless string of bottom-of-the-barrel, low-tier musicians in Pryda, the 1975, Bring Me the Horizon, SBTRKT, Foals (Jesus, HOW THE FUCK DID BMTH OR FOALS EVEN COME UP IN A DRIVE RESCORE CONVERSATION), it was, from beginning to end, a nasty and petrifying experience. Even CHVRCHES's contribution (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zM0O1Pqjvuw) (which is a great track on its own though generally a bit too poppy and forgettable) felt completely out of place replacing Kavinsky's "Nightcall".

One Of My Fav Bond Songs, I Like A Lot Of Them, But This Moves A Few Down The List :D
You're joking right? ... I spent the past 30 minutes trying to work my around Spotify to no avail and it's possibly one of the worst bond themes ever written. This would've been barely passable on X-Factor.
1. The orchestration is cold, mostly bleak and incredibly poorly constructed, or at least, disoriented. It misses the general warmth and vigor of a Bond them.
2. Sam Smith's evolved "faux"-falsetto is the most obnoxiously melodramatic and impotent thing I've ever heard, let alone inappropriate for this specific song given the lyrics' boorish tragedy.
3. Even yet, the worst part is the ending. I mean... if you're going to opt for an incontestably, full-blown (and trademark Sam Smith) effeminate sound, might as well have given it a semblance of grandeur instead of suddenly cutting off the note on "wall".
Considering that le nouveau Mozart claims to have taken only 20 minutes to write it, it should come as no surprise if in retrospect Jack White or even a-ha sound like "quintessential" Bond. To be fair, I've never liked Smith - I've always found him to use his sexuality as a frustratingly unsubtle gimmick but this... this was outright disgraceful.

I hated Thor 2 (I hate Thor in general, those movies suck and I don't really care for the character) and AoU was a disappointment. I finally saw Ant-Man 2 weeks ago, it was good. So both Thor films, IM3 and AoU are the worst IMO.

It was the same thing the second time around. Team is assembled, villain rises. Team fights/argues, sorts out their problems and defeats villain. It was the same thing as The Hangover pt. II. We needed a Hangover pt. III, a departure from the original.

Every surround mix is different, some are easier to work with than others. Some films have all the dialogue centered, others have voices in every channel. It's a game of chance that the mix for the film will have rippable music.

Sure, here's (

If we're gonna do this we at least need Sulley's help in identifying which parts of the film have unreleased music.

Aren't the DVD and BD mixes different?
No. The two mixes would be the same.
The Blu-ray only has a 5.1 mix, not 6.1, 7.1, or anything like that. Odd considering the film was mixed in 11.1 and Atmos (

I saw Oblivion at some point (I can't remember exactly when). I enjoyed it. It wasn't AWESOME like EoT (although that end sequence to Oblivion is incredible). I haven't seen WotW or Minority Report, but I've heard good things about MR. The Last Samurai is really good (seen it twice).
Minority Report was good, but not one that I'd say I'd definitely watch again, like Oblivion or Edge of Tomorrow. War of the Worlds was pretty epic, and actually surprisingly disturbing. The ending felt rushed, however, and wasn't explained nearly enough, which left a sour taste in the mouth. But I might still watch it again someday.

I'll have to get around to those at some point. Maybe I'll get fired or something and then I'll just take a month off to binge watch movies. :p

Better Days*, Lorne Balfe - Terminator: Genisys. I must've missed it before, I'm just realizing that it contains yet another portion of Brad Fiedel's original Terminator theme. That's now 4 cues off the OST that incorporate it.

Is that a good or a bad thing?
DAKoftheOTA
09-27-2015, 11:12 PM
Why on earth would that be a bad thing? It's a great thing. Judgement Day is my Holy Grail, so hearing it in a new Terminator film is a treat. It's always nice when a composer pays homage to an original film and incorporates the main theme in there somehow. Can't speak for T3 as I've seen it once and don't even have the score, but even Elfman did it in Salvation (despite it being omit from the sessions).

o_o I said I'm listening to the credits of the movie, not that I've done any rip or anything, I have no idea about that o_o
If you want it so much, I'll handle the audio to Skelly to work on it. Or you, or anyone else.
Well pardon a man for assuming that you were listening to it as an audio track :p
It's very simple. Do you have Audacity or Adobe Audition? Import the film into one of them and export the end credits. That's how you start. Novice. And then you work your way up the ladder and end up popping out edits left and right, like me ;)

I had to return to the 3:11 mark on "I AM NOT A MORON!" about a hundred times. That scene is one of the best scenes I have ever seen in video games, ever.

Nope, .m2ts, full BD my friend.
Audacity's opening it, though, its taking its time.
I have no idea what the f kinda format that is lol. Only ever seen MKV, AVI (eww) and MP4...
.m2ts it's basically the video format where Blu-ray movies are usually stored in the disc.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.m2ts
M2TS is a filename extension used for the Blu-ray Disc Audio-Video (BDAV) MPEG-2 Transport Stream (M2TS) container file format. It is used for multiplexing audio, video and other streams. It is based on the MPEG-2 transport stream container.[2][3][4][5] This container format is commonly used for high definition video on Blu-ray Disc and AVCHD.
Audacity's opening it, but it's taking like 20 minutes. I should abort, I ain't got all that time atm, it's like, 0:43 (12:43 pm)
Ponyo's on the right track, .m2ts is the standard video format for Blu-rays.
If Ponyo has the FFMPEG plugin for Audaciity he should be able to drag-and-drop the video file into the program.
But it can take FOREVER, and even after it's done importing nothing will happen for the longest time. It can take up to like 40 minutes.
But let me know when you import it Ponyo, I'll give you some tips on how to edit.

I don't know if it does, but I tried importing the .m2ts file into Audacity, it spent like 25 minutes transferring it or something, then it fucking froze.
It does that. You just need to be patient, it loads up eventually.
When it finally imports don't do anything, let me know.

Long story...
I'm still trying to rip that Quadrant game. What I extracted was a bunch of FSB files, some playable and some unplayable.
Sparky had the same problem with The Forest, and he now has that game fully in true lossless. I was waiting for him to report back on how he got it, as he has been speaking to some expert rippers.
But, he's gone. I don't know.
I've spoken to several members here, including Sparky, Skelly and a few other rippers, and so far there's no luck.
It baffles me how Foobar can't recognise Vorbis inside FSBs. No program seems to be able to. In fact, the closest I got to playing them was Audacity...
