THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN - Teaser Trailer (HD)
Sony Pictures Entertainment
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deSRpSn8Pyk
eh.
The cast is great. Fuqua has always picked great casts.
The main reason why we watch his movies.
My family loves The Equalizer, but I thought it was just like any other movie. A lot of camera tricks that built up to him not doing anything with what the cameras played with.
Olympus Has Fallen was awesome. That's a family staple.
Shooter was excellent. Wahlberg's one-hit Bourne movie.
King Arthur is more for me. My older brother loves it just as much. But can't remember what my mom thinks. She loves the cast. But by then, we had watched Gladiator (extended; which she loves) and all the LOTR and The Hobbit in extended edition. She's had her fill of ancient time period war movies.
Training Day is going to be the movie he will be remembered for when he's gone.
It's really hard to give credit to him for The Replacement Killers.
Chow Yun-Fat and his gun slinging. With John Woo being executive producer, those are the only names people look at for that movie. And it's really only them that carry the movie. A lot of it looks like Woo was backseat directing that film.
"What's the best way to make a movie for the West that looks like a movie from the East?"
Get John Woo to create all the scenes for you and then just point the camera to get it on tape.
James Foley had it better with Chow a year later for The Corruptor. That seemed more like an actual movie with a story.
A real buddy-cop-betrayal movie over a popcorn action flick.
This remake of a remake, TMS, looks like a popcorn action flick.
But I may be surprised. The cast is great. I love seeing all the familiar faces.
I don't know if it can top the 3:10 to Yuma remake.

I can imagine.
It's the same with Singer's earlier work. For Apt Pupil, Brian Singer wanted a nude shower scene of a bunch of highschool boys where the main character has a vision of the showers in prison camps.
I think they filmed it, but had to have the cameras up much higher so nothing below the waist is shown (not even the bum).
I remember there being a lot of accusations about Singer over the years.
gururu
04-20-2016, 06:10 PM
Singer may have a fancy for the twink end of the scale, but he's never been accused of pedophilia.
tehƧP@ƦKlyANK -Ⅲ
04-20-2016, 07:12 PM
Strictly speaking, yeah.
But he was accused of abusing a minor (not prepubescent; post-pubescent but not within the age of majority -- which varies from country to country and state to state and province to province, etc).

In the most recent case the accuser withdrew both the accusation and all charges were dropped. And while I'm not here to defend Singer's personal proclivities, so long as he doesn't stray below the age of consent he shouldn't be confused with Salva, a convicted sex offender.

The score itself is pretty decent, the film is great too.
It's been since January 2014 that I've seen this movie, and found out about this one of Arvo Prt's compositions, Fratres.
I've listened to it so much since then; this version, and the version from Mother Night, and it remains to be one of my favorite compositions ever.
I think the version in Mother Night is for Violin and Piano, which I like a little better than Strings and Percussion.

The film is great too.
I tried watching it.
But at that time, I had seen so many of his movies where he stares blankly at the screen.
Drive is top-notch. Silent, strong type.
Only God Forgives was weird and I didn't finish it. It seemed heavily inspired by David Lynch and not at all what the trailers represented.
Even though he smiled in Gangster Squad (and a completely different genre/style), that movie was a real let down for a time period movie. I loved the score to that film, but I think Dick Tracy was good enough for that type of gang movie.

Everyone hates Family Guy but I like it, there's some good episodes and jokes, some bad, some good, like in any other series but there's some that are gold. Also, I must say, I love the musical parts of Family Guy, they're fantastic. Seth is a talented actor and a genious, and he sings amazing (check out his albums.) And honestly I REALLY want Seth to do a musical comedy. Or a musical something.I guess one day he'll get the chance. At least we're having him in SING as a singing gentleman mouse. Seems fitting for him, the movie is a musical I've heard, so he'll sing there. It'll be fun.

It isn't really that good anymore, the energy seems almost nonexistent (when you compare to past seasons and episodes, especially seasons 1-3).

Yeah. For FG, I put it on, but don't pay attention.
I'll multitask and then switch to it if I hear anything remotely interesting.
The last episode, I didn't even watch all the way through. 5 minutes and I was soooooo bored.

Agreed completely. It took me six years to finish Prime 1 and I haven't even started on 2 yet. Twilight Princess is among my all-time favourite video games. That one took me a long time too, not because I struggled with it but rather because I took my time to just explore and enjoy the game for what it is; beautiful. I was thrilled when I picked up my copy of TPHD.... even though I haven't opened it yet  play a video game's story for the first time over a period of months or even years is like watching a new season of your faovurite TV show... you just can't wait to get more and it keeps the game involved and invigorating. Basically it's just textures with more pixels to accomodate for 1080p resolution instead of the original 480p upscale that the GC/Wii used. SO nothing special but it's subtle.

About to go watch the season finale of Vikings Season 4 with my mom. She loves this show, I do too. Can't wait to see how this will turn out.. Back soon
Something funny about that; my dad and I watched the first season back when it premiered; we kinda enjoyed it; him more than me; but we couldn't go beyond Season 1 as my father is not the type to watch shows unless they have an end. I mean, he cannot wait a year for a show's next season, because by then he has either lost interest, or he doesn't remember a thing that happened in Season 1. He prefers watching things straight. So, because of that my dad doesn't really watch shows, only if they have a clear end, he prefers movies for that reason.
TLDR; my dad and I once watched Season 1 of that show when it premiered; we enjoyed it, but because my dad really is not fondle of having to wait a whole year for the next season, as he either loses interest or does not remember a thing of what happened.

Until the Nation of the privileged Mafia attacked, didn't want us to have the scores that they could trade to get whatever they wanted, us peasants, and all of them harassed their way until the brave saviours stopped leaking and had to leave.
We clearly remember that week differntly.

Ah, the Inception before Inception.
People who can't keep up with the story really have no excuse watching movies.
That's what Michael Bay is for. :smrt:
Cue the screaming Bumble Bee/Optimus montage.
I want to get it on Blu-ray..
Much cheaper to collect. All the stores kept having them on sale.
Any special editions like steelbook or anything should be OOP.
Stores only carry the regular jewel cases now. But they come loaded with features.
It's probably best to rip it all to the PC with MakeMKV. The menus take forever to load and navigate. Riddled with animations.
Animated menus are great for introduction, but there should be a feature to use static menus once you've already inserted the disc before.
It takes half an hour for the movie to start.

Maybe for Pirates 5 they'll pull a Bourne Ultimatum and track a bunch of music from previous films.
The saga has a lot of famous, way too known themes, yes, it's obvious they'll repeat them.

Trailer 3, with the NIN remix.
Dropping out some of the dialogue.
Connor's wife dialogue is cut out.
Helena's dialogue is cut out.
Only left in Marcus Wright and John Connor. Makes it sound better than having a dozen people talking all the way through.
The sfx is intact.
Really no way to edit out all the sfx.
The muting the center channel entirely has its charms.
There could be an edit without the center channel. You wouldn't hear as much audio_ducking as you would expect.
It's not a bad listen, but I'm working on variations with the dialogue from the trailer.
The nicest edit I like is how Connor is talking on the radio and then he delivers "if you're listening to this, you are the Resistence".
Otherwise, omitting that in the start, feels incomplete.
More of the hits are in the center, which build up the trailer to be as great as it's remembered, so that's why I opted for a Connor/Wright version.
Besides, when Wright screams after seeing he's a Terminator, the scream echoes in all channels.
The source is a bluray trailer, AC3@640 in 5.1.
That's the best we can find for bitrate. At that rate, it's transparent to DTS formats, anyway.
Seeing as it's a lossy source, I used ffmpeg to convert it to 64-bit floating point.
About the only time exaggerated bit depth comes in handy for processing.
The resulting file will get dithered down to 16-bit. And stereo.
Surround sound will be useless, as the center channel has too many ducking periods.
24-bit won't really help. There isn't nearly enough dynamic range to support any claims for higher bit depths.
When I downmixed it to stereo, keeping 64 floating point, eac3to reported that there was only an average of 30 bits.
So realistically, I can process this all in 32 floating point.
I'll keep a 32fp intermediate to create the AAC/MP3 versions. Since those encoders would only support 32fp instead of 64fp.

Any Hellspawn specialists?
There's so many DVD boxsets out there for the HBO volumes of the tv series.
Has the show only had one transfer and then all the rest of the discs using the same?
I can never seem to keep my DVD's all in the same place. I have either 3 volumes, or 2.
There's a lot of "4 Disc" volumes, but Amazon never publishes useful information.
Is the 4th disc just special features?

I mean in the Advanced tab in Preferences:
"Default selection rule":
-sel:all,+sel:(favlang|nolang),-sel:(havemulti|havelossless),+sel:mvcvideo,=100:al l,-10:favlang
That ensures the lossy cores are not selected if they are attached to a lossless stream.
And "favleng" is set to English, as most blurays I have are English language films.
For foreign films, manually selecting the lossless original language.

But it's pretty much more or less the same thing. People want recording sessions to hear their favourite scores, in complete form, in best quality ever.
I want the same with this game's soundtrack. There's gotta be recording sessions for it too, as this score was orchestrated.
The only difference is, the RS from it must be situated in Japan and way more hard to obtain.

I am aware.. do you really think I'm being real about it? Anyone knows Assault would never leak because it's kept hidden way more locked in Nintendo JP's headquarters.
It's "so easy" to see movie leaks that the theory of composers leaking it doesn't really seem far off..

What you got is from !!!!!'s gamerip. Which is more or less the same you'd adquire from the gamefiles, with the exception that isn't mastered, and there's a few files which contain lots of sfx and are not in that set.
Up to you if you wanna work from !!!!'s rip of work yourself from gamefiles. What is not in !!!!'s gamerip is sfx filled music that I don't think it's possible to save.
Just in case, I'll grab the ISO and take a look at extracting the files. Dunno if you'd like me to send you the gamefiles only or the whole ISO. It's not about space, but your convenience. Does it matter if the ISO is european?

It IS mastered. But how well it is mastered is purely opinion. The game's music is heavily compressed and loud. Yes, the rip was done by !!!!!, but it would be no different if you or I were to do it. Those are the game's audio files minus SFX-littered audio. I will take my professional hand to it to remaster it to sound more like sessions and less obtrusive in the ears. If you want, rip the rest of the stuf that you want and send it to me. I'll remaster the whole thing for you so it sounds better, according to your standards of what you like to listen to.
