Also, personally. I'm okay with both Apple and Microsoft. Both do wrong shit though. It's just, for Apple, I dislike how they make great products but heavily overpriced, I think they'd get even more sucess is they priced their products more reasonable, so normal people could get it, they'd prolly win even more money than they already are.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Visually, beautiful. Narratively, weak. The film does way to much telling and not enough showing. Lots and lots of telling. Eva Green classes up the joint, as usual, Samuel L. Jackson hams it up, and Asa Butterfield, the film's protagonist, becomes one with the wallpaper.

Paraphrasing one reviewer: Burton should have made this film 20 years ago and then it really would have been peculiar. Today's Burton: the suburbs idea of peculiar. (In the same way the fans of Fifty Shades think it's kinky and dangerous.)

Disney is Mr. Gold's blood. Of course he's gonna be very positive about them. Can't he just be allowed to think that?

Also, stinkers? With financial, critical, and audience success of the ones I can recall, that word definitely doesn't fit Disney at the moment.

I have a feeling it may transpire as the best film in the series, I also believe it will be the last. The plot sounds rather intriguing (from what I remember reading), with the introduction of ghosts, and everything.

Why are all the PotC films about undead Pirate crews?

Out of all the pirate lore out there in different mediums, there isn't much outside the realm of a crew damned to live forever as a skeleton and serve some a-hole.

Mermaids were an interesting part. Some lore to it, but ruined with the love story.
The Kraken was a magnificent beast but didn't last long.
The witch was cool, and even better as a trapped goddess.

But curses play a huge part.

It's not like The Mummy franchise where Egypt has a lot of mythological creatures. You can do lots with Egypt.

But, pirates? That's about it.
I think it was all the backstabbing shenannigans that kept it going. A very Scooby Doo feel to all of Jack's antics.

There haven't been that many exciting pirate games.
There was one about a female captain. It was a neat adventure, for PS2 I think.
But it was very limited.

I'd love to see more included. More mythology.
Dopplegangers would make a fun Scooby Doo moment.

Fucking shit, you're right, reminds me of how realistic Logan's hair in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine videogame looked, I've not usually seen anything like this before. It looks as though he's of a different world.

They're really trying to make this next film interesting. What the hell were those creatures beside him?! They look so fucked up, as if they've been torn apart due to fierce battle and still continue to live.
At some first glances of the trailer, the striking unusual appearance of those skeleton-ghost folk, along with (brief) appearances of Royal Navy (I love that), I was reminded of The Curse of the Black Pearl, it almost gave me a similar feel.

I'm intrigued. Looks like it's going to be good film, but we'll see, I suppose. :p

What the hell were those creatures beside him?! They look so fucked up, as if they've been torn apart due to fierce battle and still continue to live.

I was right of the last statement, but now that I look closely, I realized they are literally individuals (presumably soldiers or pirates) that've been shot to death, and / or ripped apart, and by definition, are undead.

Doesn't change much from the previous installments, other than looking more daunting then before, but affirms difference to some degree! (they're ghosts! not skeletons!)

Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Holy christ was is it ever heartbreaking.

Best performances, I swear. Literally Tom Hardy's defining role.
I still have to watch Bronson, but this one really has me on all emotional levels.

I'm so glad Cumberbatch was in it. He was the best pick for the role.

I feel somewhat alienated after watching it now.

One would be inclined to think so, i guess...

But contrary to popular Belief we're not wearing Lederhosen and yodeling allday, everyday

Cool Picture 'though, i'll stick with Merida or Tiana for this one...

I know! But I thought it was relevant for being a german thing. However, funny enough, Merida has an Irish beer, when she's scottish as far as I know.

I knew what celebration it was, FB not only reminded me, but a few german friends, too did :)

Lederhosen are a Bavarian thing and Bavaria, southern part of the country, is to Germany what Texas - if Texas had really high mountains - is to the US. (The largest state that has its own state of mind.)

Northern, Eastern and Western Germany are quite different. Bavaria is where most of the US military bases are located which is why Americans probably think Bavarian customs are Germanic customs. (It's also an excuse to drink lots of beer.)

And believe me, American beer, compared to German beer, is like making love in a canoe.

It's fucking close to water.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. An engaging mix of action and intriguing questions. And speaking of questions:

Is Dolores (the farmer's daughter) the original?

Who is management and what is their goal? Creating synthetic bodies that could house human intelligence?

What is the Man in Black's agenda? Finding Level 83 where the decommissioned host bodies are stored? Who is he, besides are very rich sadist.

Is Westworld on Earth? How far in the future is the series set?

Are any of the park's administrators hosts instead of human?

Looking forward to episode two.

Tried about 25 minutes of HBO's Westworld and…YUCK, the writing is awful. That, plus the use of dramatic music to heighten a fiction within a fiction makes no conceptual sense unless the guests hear the music as well. It should have been left unscored or scored with a greater sense of irony, but that would require hiring a composer possessing better than average creativity.

The first film caught a lot of people by surprise. (Admittedly, the synopsis sounds like almost every other hitman revenge flick ever made.) Proving that trying to condense a book, film or TV show into a single sentence often does the work a disservice.

Second, its often the details that carry a film and add to its depth: the gold coins, the hotel, the rules, etc., The film does what so many others fail to do and that's build a world.

Third: I want a John Wick ASPCA TV commercial. (Adopt a shelter animal or I'll shoot you in the face.)

But yeah, I already understand that was a leading factor in why I didn't favor it too well. Again, I might like it more now, but even my brother (who was about my current age at the time) didn't think too fond of it, but I'll soon discover...

It looks okay.
Some nods to the series.

Those abs look fake.
They should be on the Snyder regime.

John Wick 2 trailer kicked serious ass.
Love the costumes. The female villain looks badass. Fashionably badass. And not in a Zoolander sort of way.

I'm overhearing it faintly from the other room.

Same, up until I joined. I was almost gonna watch AHS, but decided round 2 might be more entertaining. It's not bad so far. Better than the last one.

I'm not watching it right now but I hear Trump is melting down quick.

Pretty much, considering he hasn't spoken as much as Hilary and is just giving a glare from what I've seen.

You must be watching something else. He talks faster, therefore getting in more words, and he doesn't stall like she does - often pausing and going off on a tangent and saying how amazing "a wonderful film by the great Steven Spielberg called Lincoln" is.

It sounds like the old crone is trying to win the Spielberg fans over to her side

It was just an observation on the little I saw. I don't give a damn about it, since I know we're screwed anyway.

Whatever it takes. She's desperate. I'm a Spielberg fan (who isn't??), and she'll never win me over :p

I think Nolan is still popular with today's pseudo-intellects. Trump should talk about mind games or some shit and reference Inception. That's a great way to get the young people's vote. Talk to them in a language they understand.

I thought it was real cute how Hillary's campaign dug up a ten-year old audio recording of Trump saying shit about women. Behind closed doors.
What's that called? Borking?

They did that because they'll find every little pinch of evidence and such to make him look like an terrible person and poor candidate. If he wasn't running for president, no one would give a shit.

It's Facebook news.
It's a useless factoid that's intended only to impact the easily swayed.

How easily that portion of the population can be influenced is truly scary. There's that said fraction and the other who aren't even putting in a vote. For some reason, somehow, the outcome of this election; our fate, is in their hands.

It's mostly young people.
It's easier to listen to Facebook than to engage in encompassing research on a candidate.

I'm kind of surprised at that positive note the debate went out on. I watched the last couple minutes and wasn't expecting it based off from what I saw earlier.
