On the other hand, I can watch the whole thing at home via the trailers.

I've always found this viewpoint on trailers stupid, and 99.99% of trailers I've seen where people complain they show too much, they really don't. The only trailers I've found that shown too much are the trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2, and Southpaw. Everything else? Its just people usually trying to sound smart thinking they know better than the studio.

I mean seriously. Your complaining about a 2 and 1/2 minute trailer showing "too much" of a 151 minute film? "Oh yeah... definitely way too much!"

Now granted, saying a trailer does or doesn't shows "too much" by based on the trailers runtime doesn't always work. It's what shown in that that runtime. And from what I've seen of the entire BvS marketing campaign combined, I don't thing we've seen shit. Even after they showed us Doomsday & hinted at Darkseid. I bet there's something else bigger that they haven't showed up in the marketing.

Remember how everyone complained that the marketing for Star Wars: The Force Awakens showed too much? Oh guess what? Turns out they didn't... We barely saw anything in that whole campaign

If people are really paranoid that trailers show too much, then don't complain when you watch a trailer that "shows too much". Just don't watch the goddamn trailers.

Give it a chance, it's gonna be 150min after all. :D

Exactly.

I'm not talking about too much plot being revealed. I'm talking about money shots. There were so many kick-ass moments in today's BvS trailer... that I would have liked to have first seen in the theater. Batman blocking Superman's punch, for example. CRAZY MOMENT, HUH? But I don't think it will deliver the same impact in the film as it would have if we hadn't yet been introduced to the shot.

People complained about TFA marketing being too revealing? I thought that that was the exact way of how you should do your trailers... just introduce the characters and make it look fun.

Gorgeous soundtrack, as expected from Michael Giacchino (from Ratatouille, Up, The Incredibles fame) who I knew would do a great score, since he's fantastic with animated movies. It's his first movie for a DISNEY (not Pixar) animated movie, and he nailed perfectly. The score has plenty of nice melodies, ranging of all types, from emotional, from buddy cop, to jamaican, to indian. It's really great, though if I had to complain, I'd say it's kinda too short! At least the best cues!

It's great, because the creator of Ecco The Dolphin and the original team, (including the excellent composer for past Ecco music, Spencer Nilsen), co-composing is Bear McCreary; there is a new sequel/spiritual successor called The Big Blue being made. Not only will you be able to play as a dolphin, but other sea creatures as well.

And, a big part and reason for my obsession with Ecco, is my fascination of the ocean, not to mention the amazing music composed for all of the games!

I can't wait for the score to The Big Blue. :D

Fox can't possible keep the FF any longer. They've made three Fantastic Four films now, none of which are memorable for any good reason. Meanwhile Kate McKinnon does Hillary Clinton and Cecily Strong does Rachel Maddow. They were gold. And instead they opened with a stupid Ted Cruz sketch.

Isn't it going to be 10bit HEVC?
Or 10bit AVC.

I can't see there being too much authentic 8K content out there.
Even 4K is too much.
Most film is done in 2K for a source, so they're upscaling to 4K for these.

I think you're going to want to change to MPC-HC with MadVR since they're going to have some releases with HDR content (most likely newest movies only).
MadVR is developed with HDR in mind.
VLC is generic for standard playback (standard BD).

I absolutely love the use of classical music in the film, and how much it's used. The score is very good, also.

42 minutes into it currently.

If I'm not mistaken, Wendy Carlos scored the film. She also scored the original TRON

That is correct.

The same is for The Shining.

It might be one of those "once is enough" type films for you. Like Deliverance. I thought it would be, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Definitely bizzare, though.

Kubrick asked Warner Bros. to pull A Clockwork Orange from circulation within the U.K. which Warner Bros. did. It remained out of circulation until his death.

The movie is very faithful to the novel and is, in some ways, better in presenting its themes than the book.

You mean, the movie?
