Anything before the 2000's is awesome music.

I was listening to the Heavy Metal soundtrack yesterday because I finally watched the South Park episode where they use cat urine to get high and they all end up in the Heavy Metal world.

I put on Rhianna's Sledgehammer right after, and I couldn't stop laughing because I couldn't understand a thing that was going on.

Just youtube women listening to music with headphones and wait until they start vocalizing very horribly where you can't understand what's going on and you'll have the Rhianna effect.

The 90's was a weird phase. :erm:
Some catchy stuff, but a lot of misses.

Dry nothing, canned nothing. The turkeys I cook are moist - sounds vaguely obscene - and their skins crispy. And the mashed potatoes are made from scratch. As is the pumpkin pie.

There should be hundreds of crossdressing, too.

There's events here to celebrate the movie and there's always crossdressing.
Straight people and the LGBT community show up to celebrate.
One of my friends used to go to them all the time. Her family are huge RHPS fans, but none of them dress up for it. They just go to meet friends and rock out to the movie as it plays.

The way they describe it, it sounds like Moulin Rouge event. Very bohemian.

Same neighborhoods they have burlesque shows. Exciting neighborhood for the night scene.
Beats sitting at a bar and putting up with pretentious people.

---------- Post added at 03:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:26 PM ----------

watching Friday the 13th Part II.

First one was good to watch to get the whole story. But I wouldn't watch it again.
Even if it has Kevin Bacon in it.

Really bad writing, acting and directing.

You can see a lot of the reactions are real.
When they kill the snake, you can tell she knows about it before the camera shows it.
Her hands shake and stumble before the camera reveals it. The actress tries hard to control it.
And they actually killed a real snake on camera for the scene, so you can see the guy has real regrets about it on camera.
You can literally watch his face melt into depression. "I'm a monster."

The "comedy" in it is all setups for punchlines. I guess that's what 80's teens were all about. :noonecares:

It felt more like an episode of Criminal Minds without the team.
When the first person got his throat cut with a baby gash to bleed and die slowly thus painfully, I made a joke: "The unsub is a sadist and wants his victims to know he means business".

Part 2, it has a really awesome and fun start to it.
Extremely fun opening, I loved it.

They're just getting to the neighboring camp.

I know Jason is immortal. I'm hoping one of these 100 hundred movies revel it.
Jason goes to Hell?

I know for Freddy Krueger, it's Freddy's Dead where he becomes immortal.
Dream Child was how he was born. That's a sick one, imo. Not horror, but just gross in general.

Which one is that one?

Takes Mahattan?

I can't take the franchise too seriously.
It does as much comedy as Freddy Krueger.

When they went to space, that's literally jumping the shark of the shark.
MadTV did a skit of Jason Takes Nasa.
And then they actually made it a movie.
Talk about beating yourself up.
That's like Scream 4 beating everyone else to the punchline by making a parody of itself in the same movie.
It was Scary Movie + Scream combined.

When Jason went up against that Masterchief Guy my Eyes rolled so far back

Alien VS Predator had some neat ideas.

But it was mostly just minor details to establish the universes.
The aspect of having a Predator as a buddy was cool.
But it could have used more work on the writing.

I'll still watch AVP movies.
But for Halloween, Requiem is more of a fast pace for the season.
Throw it on with Freddy VS Jason and get everyone's adrenaline going.

Pump up the jam.

I haven't seen the entire Jason franchise but Jason X was borderline ridiculous. It started off great but it got too campy for its own good in the second act.

I have the entire Nightmare franchise on DVD (the box set) but had to buy NoES1 on Blu-Ray since I lent the box out to someone and never got Part 1 back... Never doing that again!
Anyway, for me too the Nightmare franchise is a lot stronger overall than the Jason franchise is. Even when the Freddy films got campy they were still a lot of fun and very inventive.

Sonic: Lost World is not the worst Sonic game ever, but it's not the best either imo. It's got flaws.. sometimes, annoying flaws. I played the 3DS version and in some levels, it was real frustrating, mostly because of the forced motion sensor gameplay in some levels. The Wii U/PC version (yes, it's on Steam, and I heard it go 9 euros in sales quick one day) it's.. well, the same I guess. Also, yes, yes, the Super Mario 3D World game is amazing. Real fun! :)

My only gripe (and it's a personal nitpick) is that he doesn't review albums done by artists I like that are considerably mainstream, but it's nothing big.

It's funny seeing these TV reboots for older action/comedy film properties. There might be more an audience there in today's world of binge watching television.

I've heard really good feedback about the Lethal Weapon one. A good representation of what made the films great.

meme reviews

A real meme speaks for itself and doesn't need some tired youtube dude (who seems to be ripping off h3h3 with the beanie) to tell us what it is.
It's like a sandwich. If you're reviewing a sandwich no one pays attention to you because you have no idea what you're talking about. It's a sandwich. You eat it. 'Nuff said.

I hear that "meme studies" is fast becoming the hot new major for kids wanting to burn that college money. I wonder if I could be a meme professor.

No need to be so critical. It's only a side series for the guy (who is far from tired). He's primarily done music reviews for years (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTUBoFVi-HY), so don't expect him to stick with that forever.

"No Man's Land Battle" - David Buckley | Call of Duty: Ghosts (Soundtrack)

One of the few cues I like from quite possibly the worst score in the series; a major step down from the previous ethnically rich, and well-refined Call of Duty: Black Ops II score. Almost every score in the franchise brought it's respective in a more-characterized-than-standard direction, but this score doesn't bring much more to the table, than it's majority of rather unmemorable themes.

I'd also like to give "San Diego Burning" a mention as well, that one had some substance. Tasteful compared to the rest of the music.

George, if I want to listen to some Medal of Honor stuff, where should I start?

CLONEMASTER 6.53
10-15-2016, 05:23 AM
Official releases withhold essentially the whole of each and every score represented (as far as I can tell), and for that reason, I don't believe I've ever seen any gamerips around either.

These two threads do well (I downloaded from one of them a long time ago):

Thread 138202
Thread 169795

Sometimes you've seen me post a screenshot of one of the 2005 releases (http://vgmdb.net/album/6665), (of which I made individual albums from the soundtrack collection, as they seem to be identical from the 2005 releases), and the original releases (http://vgmdb.net/album/514), which I've gotten as their own original albums from Soulseek. There's a very slight difference in sound quality between each release, the soundtrack collection sounds a bit better.

Lennertz scores are also really good. Rising Sun and European Assault have become quite exceptional scores to me, in some ways, by their own respective. Perhaps not as good as Giacchino's, but still very fine. Pacific Assault is great too, and it's only like, 14 or 15 minutes. I listen to that whole album all the time.

---------- Post added at 11:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:00 PM ----------

This here is one of the first cues you'll may want to go to.

AND, might I also bring forth (as I've on some other occasion or two) attention to the uncanny resemblance Giacchino's scores hold to Williams' Indiana Jones scores, such is represented at some points in Lennertz scores as well.

You know what ya did, now, don't you? :p

Great film that everyone should watch. Nothing's terribly dramatized, there's no crappy romantic subplot, and amazingly there isn't even an apparent bias between the Americans and the Japs. Their mistakes and victories are shown very plainly. It tells a full story that somehow has no "main" character: there are only different players that the viewer is privy to observe. But Michael Bay made his own crappo movie about Pearl Harbor so I guess everyone will see that one though :(

Indeed. A 5-minute cue enters the picture inconspicuously and once you realize its presence, and its driving events to their climax (and the intermission), the suspense increases tenfold.

Good Goldsmith score too I guess.

Seems like The Longest Day took the same route as Tora! Tora! Tora!, from what I can see.

Explained here is what I appreciate about Tora! Tora! Tora! (also a clever title), and what I depreciate about Pearl Harbor. Tora gives equal attention to each faction of the depicted Pearl Harbor event and shows for what happened, and as mentioned, does so without any bias. Pearl Harbor I can probably see distracting from its core story with its subplots and romantic aspect, and I think there's definitely some unnecessary bias in the mix as well. How can you trust a film like that for a realistic, non over-dramatized, respectable depiction of one of the most important historical events of all time?

Now, I don't believe I've seen either of them, as a matter of fact, I may have watched a bit of Tora years ago, but I barely remember a thing, so a proper viewing is more than deserving. Never watched Pearl Harbor, and I don't think it's much of a crime. Pearl Harbor's Bays were doing bad enough as it is without Michael coming in and ruining everything with his fancy explosions and cliche romance plots.

TheSkeletonMan939
10-16-2016, 07:25 PM
It's garbage. I think the first 90 minutes are about two guys and a chick. One of the guys is dating the girl but dies in a plane crash, so Guy 2 wastes no time in fucking the chick. But then Guy 1 un-dies just in time for the attack on Pearl Harbor. Then Guy 2 dies and Guy 1 takes care of Guy 2's son. It's so dumb. The attack is a lot more graphic than TTT though. Much bloodier.

I've never heard Symphony No. 6, I'll have to listen when I get home.

Heaven!

I watched "Spock's Brain".
Apparently it's the worst episode of TOS ever. That makes sense.

Nah. Not the worst by far. Worse would be an episode that wasn't at least unintentionally funny, such as the very last episode Turnabout Intruder, which is just embarrassing for everyone involved.

Turnabout Intruder was pretty rough to sit through.

I was really hoping a different episode would be the last.
I felt underwhelmed by the finale of it all.

The animated series brought back some nostalgia.

But, ultimately, I'd rather just skip to The Motion Picture.
I love that movie.

Spock's Brain was an interesting episode.
But so much has happened by then, it just went by for me.
The temporary effects that the helmets gave were neat if they could learn how to prolong the effects of that technology without killing anyone.

Listening to Inferno.

Some nice tracks at the start. For action.
Very synth. But given it's Zimmer I don't see why everyone complained. :noonecares:

It doesn't stand that well on its own for casual listening.
I can see it doing wonders to the film.
It's got a dark and gritty vibe to it.

It'll be good to listen to while gaming or completing tasks, when you don't have to pay attention to it.
But I wouldn't just sit here and listen to it with headphones and devote all my attention to it.
It's not that kind of OST.

A&D > Inferno > TDC

TDC is too soft.
Makes my penis soft.
I'll take only a few tracks from TDC and skip the rest.

A&D is where it's at.

People Do Not Like TOS Anymore Because They Have Aged So Much.
There Is Not One Out Of All The ST Series or Films I Did Not Enjoy.

Is Turnabout Intruder the one where Kirk switches bodies with a lady?
:roflspock:
Yeah that one was worse

Spock's Brain just seemed to go on and on... with the same back-and-forth:
"You must return Spock's brain!"
"No!"
"Yes!"
"No!"
It was like a Spongebob episode.

I would still sit through all of it again.

I really really really want the TOS on bluray for my birthday.
It's always on sale.

Not all animated DC!
Just the DCAU.
And Young Justice.
And CHALLENGE OF THE SUPER-FRIENDS!
A lot of the DTVs just do not agree with me.

The Simpson's 600th episode. Closes with an amusing take-off of "Goldfinger" sung by a Shirley Bassey sound-alike.

I don't like the remastered Star Trek. The CGI effects already look shitty. Just let them be products of their time!

I Bought Both For A Collectable Reason But Watch The First Set More Often.

Like Now You Can Get Newly Colorised Version of Black and White Films On DVD, I Still Prefer The Original B&W Versions.

Yeah, remastered fat boxes.
They're cheaper now because the new slim packs are out to replace the thicker boxes.

The remastered has option to watch with new cg effects or the original effects before remastering.

Again The JJ Films Get A Lot Of Slagging, But They Are Good. Why? Because They Are In A Different Universe Which Explores A Different Side of the Old Charcters and Refreshed It More.

Because Of the Alternate Reality The Chacters Could Change and Be Approached For The Newer Audience.

Mmmm! Winter III: Allegro, is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've heard! I also tend to enjoy 3:22 - 4:41 of what I think to be Autumn I: Allegro more than the rest of the piece, that section almost seems like an interlude.

"Affirmative."

You've gotta rebuttal, man! If I give reasons for not liking something you or someone has gotta give me counterpoints! That's part of what makes discussion interesting. One-sided debates are always boring.
