James Corden hosting the 70th Tony Awards.
He does Phantom of the Opera at some point.
It should be different than when he did it on a crosswalk. (

That's what Wikipedia says. I've only seen the theatrical.
An addition to the music is the use of Danny Elfman's theme for Planet of the Apes during the pivotal fight between Hector and Achilles in front of the Gates of Troy.

okay, so the Phantom of the Opera bit o nthe Tony's is just part of a montage and he changes the lyrics to every song as an introduction of himself to the audience.
it's a fun montage.
but i was hoping to hear a whole number from phantom.
also, i just learned School of Rock got turned into a Broadway Musical.
Broadway is doing what Hollywood does for remakes, since there's a musical out for Evil Dead and American Psycho.

A lot of the new gameplay mechanics look very interesting, so I imagine it'll somewhat be my first Elder Scrolls game, considering the many similarities I hear people are saying it has to that franchise. I did think that "The Weight of The Wind" would be a better title, but that's my inner a-ha fan calling out to me.
I'll probably tolerate the inventory system more than most. I thought the one from Skyward Sword was fine, even if the item switching was in real time.
The voice acting is a first (officially) for the series, so I'll cut them some slack.

The Wolverine
Don't watch the theatrical version. It's way too short and condensed for coke-addicts that need movies to end sooner.
Watch the extended/unrated/"unleashed" edition.
"Unleashed" is just a marketing ploy to make people think it's different than every other "extended" version for a movie.
How do you sucker people into blind buying something? Treat them all like Homer Simpson and throw in extra words. More words = more movie. :smrt:
The extended edition of Wolverine has a better storyline and actually makes it more coherent and fluid. The theatrical version leaves way too much. You feel nothing for it at the end. I made that mistake.
They CG'ed some blood into the movie for the extended edition. Some scenes, you can see added hair and blood to his blades from a fight. A very nice touch.
I liked it quite a bit. It was a good movie.
The only 3D version is for the theatrical edition, so don't watch that.
Youtube for a deleted scene that never made the movie. It's a very nice alternate ending.
You probably heard about it by now, but it involves a brand new suit for Wolverine and it's very badass. I wish they kept it in the film.
They might use it in the second Wolverine movie.

I read how they came about to decide that she must die in the series.
No one liked her in real life and she had a very different way of looking at humor that it made it difficult for everyone to act together.
It was very brief, but I'd like to see a parody on a different tv show where they re-enact things of trying to film an episode with her and ruining everything.
That alone would be comedy gold.

I definitely remember seeing it in the theatre, but I have no idea if I fell asleep, complained so much they had to take me out, or arrived once the movie ended. Either way, it took a VHS copy to make me have fond memories of the film.
I have no clue if I want to see Finding Dory in theaters, since that hasn't intrigued me in the same way that Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2 have. I might see it if someone in the family offers me to go. I'm more inclined to see X-Men Apocalypse right now.

I honestly think it depends on the way they're put in the film. If it's just random cameos, I more think people would appreciate Tobey's, since seeing Garfield pass by randomly will only further make people question why they're on another reboot.
However, if this was a Spider-Verse sort of film, it would be perfect. Neither managed to have a proper send off. Both their runs were rebooted before that can happen. While it's more arguable with Tobey, Garfield definitely got the short end of the stick. With one film to put all of them together, we can at least give them some send off, even though questions that remain from both series will probably remained unanswered.

Well, let's just say that if Finding Dory weren't playing in theaters, I would want to see X-Men: Apocalypse instead.

I agree. The whole reason they keep rebooting spiderman is because the fans hate every incarnation so much.
My mom made a joke saying that she thought she'd never see the day she misses seeing Tobey McGuire doing the dance.
:neg: :neg: :neg: :neg:
She liked the first Spiderman movie but got tired of it by the time 3 came out.
By then, it was all Harry Osbourne's movie.
But then he grew up to do fart joke movies with Seth Rogen too much that 127 Hours was an automatic "like" without giving it an entire viewing.
First trailer: He's all serious with no dildo in his mouth. "Oooh this looks good", says mom. "Yeah, I'm still waiting to see his rat pack friends to show up and turn it into a teen drinking movie," says I. "He's up for an Oscar, don't you know?" says she. "Is that so?" says I. "I hope he wins," says she.
All because he's not playing a douchie role. Sure he was great in that movie. But too bad we needed years of MTV-grade acting to really appreciate and punctuate the range he has for acting. He didn't earn his merit. He just got it by default because of his reputation. It breaks my heart to watch the first Spiderman. Now I know how me mum feels every time she used say "I wish you guys didn't grow up," says she.

That's an interesting perspective. To me, it matters that the film works well as a whole. Actors aren't a concern unless they aren't doing a good job. Besides the extras, everyone in the trilogy did an exceptional job. All I ask for are good films, and besides 3, I got that.

I honestly think you should binge watch all of them. The first two really hold up. The third, while problematic, definitely had effort put into it, so it'll be watchable at the very least.
Sandman was definitely interesting, but ultimately flawed. They really pulled the sympathetic villain card forcefully after Doc Ock was well received. What they had planned to do with him originally was better than what they did in the end.

I disagree with the characterization that fans hated each incarnation. Not so. The first two Sam Raimi Spidey films did very well and were well received. The third Raimi film sank the franchise and he took responsibility for the having too many villains - Venom, Sandman and the Goblin - not enough plot and what plot there was, was far to scattershot to hit any kind of target.
The rebooting the series from the ground up was unnecessary. James Cameron was right when he said the film should open with Spidey in action, none of this origin nonsense. That mistake aside the film did well and people really liked the pairing of Garfield and Stone. (Sony relied far too much on their chemistry, which doomed the second film.)
The major problem with the first and second series was each featured a diluted version of Peter Parker. Sony seemed to be afraid to have a "science nerd" as its hero. Sony never fully committed to that conceit. When asked why McGuire's Spidey had organic web shooters, Sony's response essentially was it would make Peter look too smart. With Garfield's Spidey Sony tried injecting a cool factor - the kind of focus group tested by corporate Hollywood idea of cool - by having Pete skateboard. I doubt Pete knew which end of the skateboard was which.
And whatever goodwill Sony created with the first film, it destroyed with the second: Rhino was an idiot, Electro was a weak villain, it introduced Harry in a way that screamed "major villain," a stupid opening fight scene with Pete's dad, an even more stupid sequence with the subway car secret lab - how exactly did Parker dig an underground cavern beneath the subway system without anyone noticing, install the hydraulics that raised and lowered a subway car and pay for it? - and Pete, a science prodigy had to go to the Internet to learn about draining batteries?
Plus Gwen died just so Pete could have a "sad." TASM2 is a great example of how not to write a superhero film, the best example of that being Green Lantern.
Then there's the legendary meddling Sony did by taking both films away from the director and doing its own edit which made the film worse. And Sony figured it could wallpaper over any cracks in the screenplay by having Garfield and Stone look into each other's eyes and audience would go so completely gooey their brains would leak out their ears.
The past is dark and full of terrors and best left unvisited.

At the time, Jamse Franco wasn't that big an actor that he is today.
The only reason we know him today is because we started paying attention to him in Spiderman.
Today, a lot of movies are going with no-name actors because:
1) It separates them from the franchise.
This stops people from associating them to previous roles (can Robert Downey Jr do any other super hero film if he wanted to?)
2) All the old actors won't be around forever so we need new actors to get used to.
Chris Hemsworth wasn't all that big when he had a cameo in Star Trek 2009. Cabin In The Woods was done way before it finally got released but they held back releasing it because no one was really all that famous in it. They had to fight to keep it 2D instead of converting it all to 3D and also wait for Thor to get his pecs out there and seats wet.
I have to keep reminding friends and family that Thor went down with the ship in Star Trek. When I first stated seeing Hemsworth in more movies, I always thought of him as Captain Kirk (George Kirk).
With no-name actors, some of them are okay. But after awhile, they all do the same role and show the same emotions. There aren't that many that stand out to me. I like The Amazing Spiderman 2. The sound design is phenomenal. Whats her eyes is decent in it. Although it's no different than any other role she does. Garfield was okay. A different take than McGuire. But it was largely the sound that makes me enjoy the movie. The electronic, sonic sound the movie gives off is simply fascinating.
This new kid... if he don't make it, there's always someone new off the playground they can pick for the next movie (Edward Furlong reference).
There will always be a one-hit wonder and always a brand new John Connor. :smrt:
Dropping names is part of the studio's gambit on securing seats.
Fast & Furious 8: Helen Mirran just confirmed to join the cast. She's been in a lot of action movies lately that it wouldn't be surprising to hear her cast in the next Expendablse movie. Fast 7 was the biggest film. The number of actors in it. Tony Jaa. It was a good action flick that required no thinking or expectations. It was total fan service all the way through.

TASM2 is nothing but an empty void to me. Not good, not bad, not okay, not mediocre, or not even funny. It leaves me with absolutely nothing to say. It holds a rather strange position in my brain. TASM is a dull rehash, though.

I constantly hear people hating the Raimi series and the reboot series.
It's like the Avengers all over. Or anything from the MCU.
Between Iron Man and The Avengers and the Spiderman franchises, it's all been mixed reviews.
But I don't know anyone that would sit through the series again. They would love the idea. But once two starts to near the end, they stop paying attention and move on to something else and really try to stop anyone from playing 3.
TASM1 I hate so much. I was pissed when I heard it was going to be an origin story. It took soooooooooo long for Uncle Ben to die. When he finally did, I got happy. I even completely forgot there was action in it about the lizards.
Based on most of the comments I read, *most* of the fanbase hate all series.
Everytime Sony makes an announcement, the comments are people saying Sony needs to give the rights to someone else.
The same happens any time Fox makes an announcement about anything X-Men.

I seriously do not care to discuss actors at the moment. If they get a job, that's good.
The story about Elfman leaving 2 and Young coming in is true. If you listen to the theme that was chosen for the first fusion reaction scene, you'll hear the material being played is similar to Young's work on Hellraiser. In addition to that, he also composed the music in the bank fight and the train sequence, as all these aforementioned scenes with their originally composed music by Elfman was radically different to their final film form (as displayed by the Complete Score bootleg). However, as Elfman did do 80℅ of composing in the first place, he was allowed for primary and only credit for composing in the final credits. This also doesn't include any cues that had to be subbed by additional composers besides Young.
In the case of 3, Elfman was never involved in the first place, as it would be years before he and Raimi would speak again. Young had the whole score down when either Raimi or the producers realized "Wait, we don't have much themes from the last two films besides the main one." As the result, those same additional composers from 2 were brought to rewrite some of the material to insert themes from the previous films. It's probably why 3 never got a release of the score, since it would just be a mess of crediting and rights disputes.

Elfman has a knack for that.
Wolfman got shafted, too. Badly. So much of it is just on repeat. It really gets in the way of watching the movie.
I really like the movie and want to watch it again. But as soon as I hear the theme, I have to stop it because it gets on my nerves how much one track is played over and over again throughout the film.
It feels like a movie given to youtube editors who had fun with custom soundtracks (or EP's).

That was my issue with Gattca, where I swear I hear the same cue in every scene. It's also like that in the Donner version of Superman II, if only because the editor handicapped himself to only using score from the first film, with only one scene using score from the theatrical version of II. I only noticed it after a fan commentary pointed it out.

I remember that after watching Gattaca when I finally decided to watch it again.
There's only a couple tracks I really like off of the soundtrack. It feels a suite could have done nicely for it.
There's really one track that I put on my devices if I ever take any of it with me. It covers the theme nicely and has a decent run time.
I don't like the shorter versions. They feel more like inserts.

The primary purpose of film music, of course, is to complement the film. If it's enjoyable outside that environment, then you're dealing with a talented composer. But you can't fault a composer for his work not sounding cool outside it's natural state - within the film.

The best Cartoon since Batman the animated Series, the Hype surrounding it is very much warranted,

Watching season 8 of The Office.
Second time around, and just want to stop it after season 7, roll over in my bed and let death carry me away.
Until the series finale. Then it's a party. Death can bring the napkins. (He's probably end up killing everyone by accident if I asked him to bring forks and knives).

Soon. SS is just around the corner but Robert California is here now. So the predicament is a huge and obvious one.

15 Minutes of Injustice 2 Gameplay in 1080p 60fps
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlRp__ZB0Zg
i want it for the soundtrack and the violent sfx.
The sound of the hits and beatings sound like it's straight out of movies.
I haven't played much of the first one. It's not a game for keyboards. The menu alone deserves an achievement.
But, I know they made skins for Man of Steel and TDK trilogy, I believe.
But, I want to make sure they added the town/gas station from MoS. That would be sublime.
I think I'm going to install the first one now and look what I can do for mods.

I don't like the announcer. "Supergewrrl"
Speaking of whom, that doesn't sound like Nicholle Tom as the character.
I hope Dean Grinsfelder returns as a composer for Injustice 2. I love his style. Grinsfelder + Christopher Drake was awesome.
The first one doesn't quite click together in terms of controls. Mortal Kombat works well in an arcade with three buttons and a joystick, but game controllers these days have over a dozen buttons and it's too hard to memorize the good combos, or get quick enough hands to speed from button to button. It's not fun.

I learned the hardway that the main menu uses the ancient menu style.
You can't just move to where you want. You have to go through A = B = C = D. Even if it means that somewhere else in the world, someone is already at D because their menu design allows them to move two dimensionally. Non-linear.
I wonder how well it works with an Xbox 360 controller.
I also find a number of games on Steam come from Xbox consoles. When you go into the main menu > options > controls, all you see is a giant xbox controller and no keyboard. The keyboard associations are pasted on the xbox controller.
How stupid is the market that they have to develop games for stupid people?
They might have thought it was the easiest to segway from console to pc, but they're really just insulting their clientele with this childish tactic.
It's the equilevant of hang a donut basket and a TV over a treadmill for fat people.
They can't handle blurays, and they can't handle games.
Do you have any idea how many people would kill to have their jobs, not to screw up but just to have it?
So now they're undermining the entire population of any given country.
I blame kids who want nothing but FPS games. Simple menu, simple maps and simple PvP.

I love "Open Ocean" so much. It's beautiful. The cover is also amazing.

All of the sea creatures / characters surrounding Dory, it's wonderful. There's something about this cover that matches the music so damn perfectly...
"Lost at Sea" and "Open Ocean" (that one especially) are some good examples.

There was this really cool place in World of Warcraft where the percussion for the River Cruise would have been perfect to sync up.

Yep. I'm really bummed out about it.

I feel like I'm the only one that enjoys the remake to Fright Night.

I'm trying to get the developers of Neutron music to do something about their visuals, but their forum is ancient. It looks like it was made back in 2001.
They also don't get involved with their community either.
I only got them because they support ReplayGain and allow crossfeed for headphones.
They have sparkly stars shooting from the center of the screen or snowy effects. But that's it.
Accented colors or even blurring would be too much to ask.

Hey! Christopher Lennertz! Composer of Medal of Honor: Rising Sun, Pacific Assault, and European Assault.
How is that score? Never heard it.

I like Lennertz. Mass Effect 3 has good tunes.
The Horrible Bosses movies have some decent stuff. Nothing solid like his MoH. He can't do anything like that anymore.
He's gone too commercial.
He did some of those parody-genre movies: Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie, Vampires Suck.
Tbh, I don't pay attention to the music for those movies.
He does a lot of work for Supernatural and Agent Carter.

I've grown to like his style more as I have gotten older. I first played a lot of the Medal of Honor games at 8 or 9, and always liked Giacchino's music for the series much more than Lennertz.
Now I like Lennertz' music for the series much more, at least since the past two years, when I really started to listen to it more.
I actually very much like his work for the series, I enjoy it a lot. Just not necessarily as much as Giacchino's music.
