What do you mean, "you think"? Everyone made a big flippin' deal about the film version being different from the OST back when it came out! :p
I wonder if even the sessions would have the legit film version...
Indeed, it's just a matter of time...

I think it's more for today's generations.
The horror was had some creepy moments, but it felt more like an after-school special.
It Follows used Carpenter's Halloween as it's template. That's not a knock on the film, every writer and director starts out copying the style of someone they admire and if he or she has talent develops their own. Where I thought the film failed to deliver was on the characters: they had none. You know almost nothing about these kids.
Carpenter's three leads had personalities. Now, granted they were all archetypes: the smart girl, the wise ass, and the cheerleader but Carpenter wisely filled those roles with actresses who give those characters, well, some character.
But the real deal breaker was the way this generation's Scooby Gang handled their predicament: half-assed and sitting on their asses. It's hard to muster any enthusiasm for their plight when slouching and slacking is their preferred method of attack. And the swimming pool finale; even the director admitted the plan was stupid. The characters in horror films frequently get lambasted for committing acts of stupidity which merely exist to put their lives in danger. (You know the classic "let's split up," or "let's go into the creepy looking house. At night.") If your characters have to commit dumbness, it should be because that choice is the best of bad options not to ratchet up the tension.
Yet so many critics gave the movie a free pass. (I guess our not-so-intrepid-heroes have never read the UL warning on electrical devices, the ones that explain how exposure to water shuts the devices OFF.)
Since these kids seemed to exist in a bubble with almost zero parental supervision here's my solution: stay at the beach, pair up infected and non infected and carry the gun. Then shoot It. Let's see how many bodies it can bring to the fore. In America, It will run out of bodies before the Scoobies run out of bullets.

it's quiet as ever. no normalize in the world can fix it.
not even "loudness equalization".
And it's not even a loud movie with no loud music or sfx so there's no point making low-volume talking sound like it's a whisper.
Need everything turned up louder than normal.
The black levels is too severe. Turning up the brightness any more than normal will turn it grey.
Converting the luma curve will also make it extremely grey.
So far, though, "Citizen X (1995) (

Guardians of the Galazy by watching the IMAX Blu-ray rip.
This is one they need to do a proper re-release of for the IMAX version.
Only the 3D one got IMAX scenes (as it were filmed/presented).
But the video transfer itself has the worst black padding/shift on the left-side of the screen.
Some scenes are way worse than others. Up to >40 pixels of black bars for a few frames then the next few, about ~12 pixels.
They also tampered with the colors/saturation a lot for the sake of 3D-TV's, too.
Guardians of the Galaxy: The Compendium (ala Star Trek) to coincide with Vol. 2 release!
:/ although, there will probably be lots of horrible banding in that one just like STID IMAX release.

Not as great as the first one.

From the looks of it, it completely negates events in Origins: Wolverine.
No mention of that death squad he was in.
No mention of going up against Wolvie and then re-attching his head.
Looks like it's rebooting Wade Wilson.
And keeping Ryan Reynolds.
Love, love, LOVE the red band trailer.

It's basically an (maybe) extended version of the Comic-Con one but still very, very cool.
Reynolds was born for this this role. His twenty seconds in Origins: Wolverine were the best part of the movie. Now, how are they going to fit him into anything else is a wonder, the X-Men universe or (unlikely) MCU, both of which are PG or at most PG-13 at best. They'd have dramatically tone Wilson down for it. Or they could just skip that and create another one. The Deadpool Cinematic Universe, as if we need another continuity to keep up with.
For now, this thing better be as good as the trailer, I've been fooled before and I did not like it.

Even before then they were working hard on erasing it.
James Mangold (and Jackman, too) had stated in pre-production vlogs that people need to forget that Origins: Wolverine never happened.
Which is good.
I liked the film, but I can live with it being taken out of the film universe.
(or just like treat it like a bad alternate universe movie lol)

It's nice.
Always liked Blake Lively, she's always had this timeless grace thing going and here it shows. The male lead is the quirky dude who got skewered on GoT and he brings his tight bod, usual rom-com combo of gentleman perfection and an abominable attempt at an accent (honestly, why not just have him speak naturally, every damn character doesn't have to be local/American). I just couldn't take him seriously, always felt a little too over-the-top. The director seems to have a real style that I approve of, I'll keep an eye out for him. The cinematography shines (It Follows was excellent in this dept. too) and the music was, well, I've never been truly impressed with Rob Simonsen and he gives me no reason to think otherwise here as well. But it worked within the film, I just won't be rushing to buy the score itself. The narration was excessive at times. The audience aren't idiots and exposition is not always absolutely necessary. Although they did deal with the flashbacks well, most movies dealing with such matters tend to overdo flashbacks often providing excessive information where very little can work just as well. Overall, had some good concepts but the execution was almost perfect. The cocktail was mixed right, it just needed some crucial ingredients to deliver the punch.

I've heard so much that the theatrical cut was much better.
Well, this cut is four hours long and expands on a lot of things left ambiguous in the theatrical version. I liked both for different reasons. There were little issues though, for example I noticed that John Barry's epic score was at times repeated too much. Then, there's the intermission sequence in the middle with just a single card and Barry's score behind for like ten or so minutes. But mostly, it requires some patience to watch. Things that should take a short while to cover are elaborated and expanded so much one wonders when the next thing's gonna happen.
Basically, if you want to get the job done watch the theatrical cut. But if you want the scenic route (and happen to have four hours to spare) then the director's cut/expanded version is the way to go.

5m1 The Launch - James Horner
6m02 Back On Earth - Steven Price
...played through my neighbour's glorious hifi system in his outbuilding down the end of the garden with four speakers and an amazing bass. Nice and loud so you could feel it.
I don't want him to come home from holiday.

The Launch is also a really great cue from Armageddon. Trevor Rabin & Don Harper.
Last summer before I started working for Lifetouch (when I was still house cleaning), I'd use my clients' systems all the time. One of them (Ed Coolidge, his apartment was formerly an old hospital) had a good setup with a wicked vinyl collection and nice turntable. Whenever I got to vacuuming I'd plug my iPod into it and crank that shit. I'd straight up pull a Mrs. Doubtfire:

You tell me. I've only seen the movie once.
I like this cue in particular as it fuses electronic percussion with
traditional japanese instruments. My favourite being the Erhu

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mNMeBMslW8 Hans Zimmer fans may love this, I really like Gladiator, and it made me check out The Ring score.
God I wish Hans would have used creepy ass vocals like in this A capella video. (for 'The Ring') Would've been awesome.

If RDJ wasn't so strangely charismatic, those movies would be really bad. He's not much like Sherlock Holmes at all...
Zimmer makes the movie fun too.

Sulley if you've heard The Lone Ranger (though I doubt it :/), that's what SH sounds like. But more....Victorian, I guess? The Lone Ranger is pretty much a westernized SH.
