At some point you can see one of the Kongs playing a Nintendo 64; that's when that track plays. It's a cute easter egg.
I loved it when I realized what was happening. :p
WHAAAaaat?!? Anyway, maybe you just didn't have the chance. It's like when I say I never watched a single Lord of the Rings movie.
That's exactly what it was. Chance didn't intend for it, apparently. I assure you if I could go back in time, I would know DKC2 just as well as the other two. But things like this (and or in general)... especially in childhood, just happen how the way they happen, and it (usually) has a profound effect on you throughout your life or later experiences with whatever thing in question. I'm just thinking of how nostalgic it could feel if only I had owned it. :p

The OST is so LOUD.
It's been rushed for mastering. It has a lot of clipping in it. Peaks beyond 0dBFS.
Since it was mastered like that, there's no recovery of the OST.
But if the sessions are more "raw", then they can be mastered and edited better than the OST.
They should have better dynamic range over the sloppy OST.

Yeah, it is loud, but I think it sounds cool in a way. Especially for some of the action cues (like the one I was listening to in the screenshot)
And not only is it loud, but I think a lot of the tracks are incorrectly-titled.

Yeah I don't know about that. The titles definitely make sense, just not to the cues they're assigned to. Like if you take a look at the sessions, most of the same OST titles are there - only they match the cue. *Unless* HZ & Co were going off of the script. I don't know....

I can currently fit exactly 8 GB of music on my iPhone without there having to be something removed in order for any additional album I may want. Of course, some various other factors take up space, but the only thing that accounts for some real difference are my photos (1 GB), everything else is extremely minimal.
8 GB of music, on a "16 GB" iPhone, which is really just 12 GB (

It can't be Fat32 though.
It's not actually bad if it's used for small things.
It's very dated. TV's usually use FAT32 for USB sticks.
The limit is insane at 4GB per file.
Probably how those microHD encodes were born.
exFAT is a good replacement over FAT32 and a little more versatile to NTFS.
But, really, NTFS is sufficient enough.
For USB sticks, you can convert it from FAT32 to NTFS if you want.
Unless the hardware you plug it into is dated and requires FAT32. :/

I've had a recent hunch of throwing shit in there without properly tagging and/or converting things (due to live bootlegs often being untagged). Thus, the thing is clogged with a bunch of either space consuming Kraftwerk live shows or just straight up thrown in FLAC files. When I have free time, I'll at some point dedicate to actually arranging things on there.

They make me very nervous as well, considering I also do tag the composers and put art in the files. It doesn't help that if I have a particular master of a album, I'll make damn sure to note it (ex: "quinoxe [Original 1983 West Germany CD Master]"). Still, I tend to use use my time for a lot other things, so a lot doesn't get changed when I transfer things. Only yesterday did I finally manage to to rearrange things and convert them, even if it was just one album (which was the example). Once next week hits, I'll get to significantly changing things.

I supose I am. They're old, but they're pretty good still. If you ask me though I wish I had a soundbar for my Blu-ray/TV though. They sound as good as a subwoofer but much better. And I'll have balanced sound, which I don't get while watching movies. I ENJOY subwoofer sound. The bass with the voices and music. I don't like it crystal breaking loud, though. My TV speakers cannot stand very well the HD sound, and I a lways have to control the volume, constantly. With a soundbar I'd get what I get with my subwoofer that I don't enjoy much due to the unbalance in sound and voices. I truly wish I could have a wonderful audio experience while watching my movies. Make the lossless audios be worth it.

That was clipping? I had always assumed it was the music itself.
It is a fantastic arrangement; the cue's more so potential is definitely brought forth by the real strings and choir, among some other elements. But even the original still holds its ground extremely well. Both make great impact and emotion.
And I wish so too. It does have a decent selection though, at least. When the game's audio files can be ripped correctly, (unless they already have) that's when we can hear the entirety.

espgaLuda II OST is one of the best OST EVER created!! 2 CDs, original and arrange: original overflowing with electronica / trance classy tunes; arrange the same tracks from the original keeping the electronica vibe with some twists. Dodonpachi is also great stuff, I cannot recommend DDP Sai-dai-ou-jou original and arrange albums enough, even if it's rehashed stuff (Manabu Namiki and the whole CAVE musicians team revamped tunes from DDP Dai-ou-jou e Daifukkatsu, BUT true fans REALLY DON'T CARE).
If you happen to like exotic stuff, try Guwange original and arrange albums. It's not Manabu Namiki, Mitsuhiro Kaneda or Yoshimi Kudo level of "amazing CAVE tunes", but still a nice mix of oriental sounds + light electronica.

Well, depending on how long this cue has been in the game, make that 8 or 9 years... some of the music switched around a bit within it's 6 year existence, so this may or may not have always been the theme for this respective time of the island. If you happen to like exotic stuff, try Guwange original and arrange albums. It's not Manabu Namiki, Mitsuhiro Kaneda or Yoshimi Kudo level of "amazing CAVE tunes", but still a nice mix of oriental sounds + light electronica.
I'm a die-hard CAVE music fan since Mushihimesama...

Just finished the 25th Anniversary edition of GoodFellas, remastered in 4K. I think that's only the second time I've ever seen it in its entirety in one sitting. Looks like never before.
Director crushed the blacks so there's no separation of shadows and details.
Their hair blends right into the shadows for some scenes.
Which is very different than older bluray, which has nice levels, but extremely poor quality.
It's a huge compromise.
The remaster, I think was crushed on purpose so everyone gets the same look on every device.
There's no recovering the shadows.
Even though it's Director Approved, this black crushing in 4K remasters is a common and cheap solution.
A few other movies removed details to control black levels and shadows.
Criterion does it a lot. Their remaster to one of Akira Kurusawa's movies was crushed for control.
I've watched the DVD to death so I'm used to seeing the separation in the shadows and dark scenes.
Try to boost the brightness, contrast, or gamma and you'll see that it's been smeared out.
Half a decent remaster where details in the light have been retained, film grain is better, and overall background details are preserved.
For some of the bar scenes, the older bluray has subtantial macroblocking artefacts.
Woe is the industry.

Rob Zombie's remake is actually good.
Better, even.
The classic is more for parties on Halloween to play in the background.
Or you can just watch Scream which makes enough references that you don't need the original.
The original is more story than slashin' action.
Just like the first Friday the 13th.
Decent setups, commercial afterthought for the sequels for nothing but blood baths.
Zombie's wife, Moon or something, is a horrible actress.
She can't cry worth spit.
She was great in House of 1000 Corpses because it was just a typical pscho role.
For a real John Carpenter horror, watch his take on "The Thing".
The sound is horrific. It's unnverving.
The special effects are very practical and damn effective once you're tuned in to the times it was made.

First fell in love with it back in '91 during freezing cold weather in the East End of London and it became my personal soundtrack for that winter. just finished The BFG.
Such a great movie.
Willliams' works better with a movie than standalone.
Watching Gone With The Wind.
Why is that really old music sounds like it's been run through a wobbly flanger?
Quite a few soundtracks that predate the 60's sound like they're on a wobbly vinyl.

Yet it's nowhere to be seen on Walt Disney's Guilds site. :(

Near the end of watching the rough cut of MST3K's riff on "It Lives By Night."
It's very interesting to see the trio have conversations in-between ad breaks, as well as no side segments (due to being recorded separately). It's nice, especially when there are some funny things in the conversations (like adding "e" at the end of every word, due to finding amusement in coily), as well as uncensored riffs!
Rani Meets Eve - The Sarah Jane Adventures: The Mad Woman in the Attic. It's great how clean a lot of the music from this series can actually be ripped.

It's a sorry state of affairs when this score turns out to be one of the better scores of the year.

I watched The Night Before earlier today. Not too bad for a comedy. Seth Rogan's character being wasted at some points was one of the funniest things about it for sure.
