I watched it years ago and I liked it. I thought it was funny. I dunno about you. *shrugs*

I'll give it a try, i am easy to please when it comes to funny movies.

There's a lot of humor in it.
Especially when you start thinking about a lot of things only to have the characters repeat it on-screen very shortly after you think it.

Christian Bale got replaced due to scheduling. So we have Jason Clarke.
It does take place after Salvation.
But, with all the legal battles to who would win the rights to the franchise and then writing out #5 took too long for any of the original cast of #4 to return.

Heavily reflects Star Trek (2009) with the time travel.
Not quite X-Men Days of Future Past, however. I mean... not unless do a "The Furlong Cut".

Graphics and special effects is pretty standard. There's nothing groundbreaking about it.
The spheres got upgraded.
The HUD on the Terminators haven't really changed. A little cleaner, I suppose.

The trailers are really different from the film, though.
Same scenes, but the intense music for the trailers seem to overhype it like it's a Superbowl movie or something.

I would still watch again.

You know what ? That actually doesn't sound too bad, thanks for helping me make a decision,
i really hope i'l like it.

My first Beltrami score.

Scream is excellent. The epitome of his essence.
The Omen is excellent. He really gives the original new life (where the remake film didn't).
The Thing is more of an acquired taste.
His collaborative work with Marylin Manson on the first Resident Evil is catchy.
The Wolverine is pretty good. A lot of great small cues that just surprise you (The Fortress, or something).
World War Z is just pure fun percussion. Play that when playing some intense FPS games.
3:10 to Yuma is incredible. Excellent, modern Western.
Hellboy is a classic.
Max Payne has some really great bassy tracks. Very rhythmic bass.

The Living Daylights is another great one. The theme song is very nice and the score as well. One of Barry's best, IMO.

I never quite liked the a-ha and Bond coupling. I think, looking back, that their sound never exactly fit with the Bond style even for the time. My favourite is, obviously, as I'm sure you've all picked on my penchant for jazz, Louis Armstrong's On Her Majesty's Secret Service; speaking of which, yes, Adele's "Skyfall" is also another favourite because of its subtle jazzy undertones.

It's a shame like no other that her absolutely brilliant reconstruction and return to a sense of classic Bond was completely misinterpreted by Sam Smith who obviously only took the ballad as a device through which to exhibit his shamelessly faux falsetto. I guess that's what distinguishes real artists. Adele is a brilliant, intelligent songwriter; "Skyfall" was a pleasantly and "surprisingly" layered effort channeling the best of Shirley Bassey. Sam Smith, on the other hand, has proved, yet again, to be nothing more than a lame manifestation of X-factor product placement; "Writing's on the Wall" is a pathetic emulation of "Skyfall". But then again, you should take my words with a pinch of salt as I'm not quite fond him. To be completely truthful, I think the guy is a glorified tool and sycophant who uses his sexuality to justify trying so hard to be a diva but that's not something I want to get into. His music is atrocious, personality notwithstanding.

Poll: which hypothetical Bond theme song do you wish you could have listened to? I wish UltraVox had been involved with the franchise. I think they would've had an incredibly interesting take on Bond.

Nope.

I could watch all of season 9 but, then I just have to wait even longer for season 10.
So I pace myself as if I actually have to wait for episodes.

Only reason I watched two episodes today, the current episode (3) and the next one (4)
because I hate cliffhangers, namely the one at the end of episode 3. >.> Couldn't wait

An excellent R-rated movie.

Also unrated, sluttier version out there.

Excellent thriller. Great cast, wonderful jazzy music from George S. Clinton (Mortal Kombat, Austin Powers).

Because it's my Holy Grail. Almost Famous has a very minimal (yet lovely) acoustic score by Crowe's ex-wife, Nancy Wilson of Heart (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_(band)).

It's my favorite movie for 3 very simple reasons: the 70's (a great time for music), Rock & Roll (my favorite genre of music outside of film scores) and the fact that it's a semi-autobiographical film about Rock & Roll. It's loosely based on Cameron Crowe's own times when he was a young writer for Rolling Stone, touring with various infamous bands in their heyday.

Add to that his Academy Award-Winning screenplay and the phenomenal performances by the entire cast.

And it also contains 3 of my several favorite Zeppelin songs :p

oooooooo, what did you think? One of my least favorite Nolan films, but I still think it's REALLY well made. TBH the best part is watching it a second time now that you know what is happening. Everything fits so perfectly and you just sit back and marvel at it, while your sister who has not seen it before has no clue. :p

What did I think? Once again, I got up from watching one of his films like this:

I take my hypothetical hat off to the man. He's a genius. Although the subject matter was really depressing, with no let-up, I still enjoyed it for the pure achievement in filmmaking that it is. To just think of an idea like that is impressive, but to then actually pull it off completely is nothing short of genius. I might watch it again one day, like you said, for the simple reason that I'd now know what's actually going on, but probably not any time soon. Heck, I just watched Inception again the other night with a friend who had never even seen the trailer! Now that was fun. :)

I had forgotten how much I love this score. JNH's best besides Defiance I think...

I "watched" Memento in some class I took my freshman year of college. I barely remeber the class, it was english or something. I dropped out and only went like 2 or 3 times which is why I barely remember. And I was always half asleep, which is why I said I "watched" it. But I will see the full film eventually. It's on my list.

Haha, and then you wake up as the credits are rolling like "Huh? What did I miss?"

STAR WARS!

I've made a new friend here who is a huge Star Wars fan - we're gonna watch them together. So don't you worry. I'll be seeing them soon enough. ;)

Really? That's awesome! Someone from school that you convinced to join? Or someone who was already here who lives close by?

Convinced to join what? I'm talking about a guy I met here at college a couple weeks back!

And I know, right? I'll finally be free from all your taunts about having never seen the films. ;)

But it's not only me who hasn't seen big films - this same guy who loves Star Wars hadn't seen Toy Story 3, Inception, Interstellar, or even The Sound of Music!! So I had to fix at least a couple of those the other night and we watched TS3 and Inception back-to-back. :D

Convinced to join the shrine, duh! But now that I read it more carefully, I see you meant "here" as in school.

What I thought you meant when you said "here" was the shrine. Cause how else do you explain meeting someone online and then physically watching a movie together? That's what I thought you meant :p

And yes, excellent choice for the gif.

AH! No, no, my mistake for not making the distinction - I can completely see how that came across lol. But yeah, he's here at college, not here on the Shrine. :p

Enjoying RUSH so far.

...and the credits are rolling on RUSH. I now get to sit back and listen to Hans' incredible score.

That was a pretty good film. The ending was interestingly ambiguous. It didn't quite leave the impression that one of them was wiser than the other, which I thought was an interesting way to finish up. It suited the story.

Hotel. It has Lady Gaga in it.
She's bound to bring her own level of creep and disgust to the show.

Plus I hear Circus wasn't so great.
I think Hotel can really bring a lot. I always love hotel themed horror (The Shining).

Right after I get some things done, I'm going to watch ep 2 of Bones.
Then later I'll sit down and watch AHS Hotel.
I missed a lot of season 2 and missed most of that Witches one (which I was really liking) and didn't watch any of Freakshow.

2 I want to finish, and especially the Witches one.

Asylum got too weird for me near the end.
It accelerated its story and threw in lots of new twists, mysteries and creatures into it.

Murder House was excellent. The story seemed more solid.
