anyone that's a Potter wiz (play on words), can you tell me why Dumbledoor is mentioned in the Fantastic Beasts trailer?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViuDsy7yb8M
I'm supposed to understand that the Fantastic story takes place 70 years before Potter.
Why is Dumbledoor so special that everyone knows him already? Is Dumby like 1K yers old? :erm: He would have had to been the same age as Scamander at the then time.
Unless the movies changed the timeline for that.

1: Dumbledore is an imaginary character.
2: Imaginary characters are not bound by the laws of time and space.
3: Dumbledore is also a wizard.
4: Wizards can do just about anything, including live a really, really, really, long time.

Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon "syncs" with Star Wars Episode 7's The Force Awakens:
https://vimeo.com/162297332
sort. it's a stretch to make but you get some things lined occasionally.
Still nowhere near as perfect as The Wizard of Oz coincidence.
Of course, this originated on Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/pinkfloyd/comments/4537im/the_dark_side_of_the_moon_syncs_perfectly_with/
you'll see a lot of validation. But there's arguments whether or not it's great or exact.
Personally, just watch it until the album stops. It gets incredibly boring when you loop it. I don't care how good the album is.

Well, I enjoyed your last recommendation, Incognito. Love 80's Synth. Would a link by possible?
Let me recommend an overlooked film about John Holmes called Wonderland in which the actor is at the center of a brutal murder in Los Angeles. Set in the earlier 80's, it's one of Val Kilmer's last good - almost great performance - as Holmes as he slides into drug addiction and obscurity. It's a fascinating look at the porn scene without the misplaced nostalgia present in films such as Boogie Wonderland.

Once?
tehƧP@ƦKlyANK -Ⅲ
04-16-2016, 11:38 AM
Yeah.
My dad watches it when he can on TV.
I'd set up the bluray player for him to watch it on Netflix, but I have to set up with my brother to expand his current plan.
So far only 2 sign-in's allowed and the account is shared between 4 of us.
I keep trying to explain to others that they should also be paying my brother so it's just not me paying him for it.
It would be nice if they chipped in for all the usage then we can upgrade to 4 devices at once.
My friend upgraded her account to let her dad watch and whatever device she's on and she's created a sub-account to let me leech on hers.
So if my brother starts paying for all his Netflix usage, and we all take turns paying, I can let my dad use my bluray player for Netflix and not worry about him getting kicked off when someone else sign's in.
There's a lot of other shows he'd watch on there, too.
It's just no one understands that when they sign in, they boot someone else off. :noonecares:

I'm getting an Xbox One soon, which can play blurays.
So when i get that, I'll sit everyone down and walk them through what's going on.
Only concern would be if my dad left any blurays out of the case, sitting in the sun.
I made him DVD's of HBO's The Pacific once. And it took him forever to finally watch it. About 3 months went by when he put in the first disc.
It didn't play. When I looked at it, I saw it was burnt from sitting in the sun.
That living room window can really light up the place during the summer. Cook things, even. :erm:
Now he thinks it's just the DVD player that doesn't work.
You see, I'm really planning this one out this time. :smrt: I got a lot of paper on the wall with the plans all drawn out.
Been working on this plan for months now.
If I can get everyone to work harmoniously, we'll be set for a decade.

https://youtu.be/ysRIwlEBjuw
He looks like he finally woke up from that sleep in the volocano. He's been given a glasgow smile.
I imagine some of the cast will say his spirit is unrest and needs vengeance so they'll probably dig up Gigan or something for him to kill.
He'll also kill Mothra by accident (just like Mechagodzilla killed Anguirus to make it look like actual Godzilla killed him).
Has that 'scary ghost' movie feel to it. It's not really Godzilla. But more like a demon Godzilla without a soul.

NO NOT THE BEES!
Theatrical edition. Might look up the unrated edition later.
Looking back on this, it looks like they tried to cash in on the Silent Hill story.
Will have to watch the original later today.
the difference is HUGE.
Original: Rated R
Remake: Rated PG-13 :notgood:
The religion is vastly underplayed in the remake (due to being child-friendly). The religion in the original was very much very liberal.
The remake makes it much more of an object-finding video game. Just click the screen while you watch it and get Nic Cage to inspect something on-screen.
 If this were a game, it would be more compelling than this.
Really just want to get to the not-the-bees part.

He's terrific in a lot of his earlier work, films of strong merit like: Wild at Heart, Moonstruck, Vampire's Kiss, Adaption, Raising Arizona, and others. Unfortunately, almost all of the work he's been getting these past 15 years is well below his talent grade.

The only thing that makes you know that is CGI is the fact that the face is anthropomorfized to "show human feelings". The rest is completely really worked up. I wasn't being serious; anyone who knows the existence of this movie would know it's not real but.. those who don't would have ahard time figuing out. gah.
I'll have to dig up the unrated edition.
The theatrical omits the bees.
We only ever had the unrated DVD, so we always had the bees with us.
Why are cults so hard to do in modern film?
It's a cheesy genre. Even if you go rated R. The sequel to this "The Wicker Tree" looks like it was shot on home video with a lot of mutes and over-the-top mystery acting.
I can't really think of any great cult movies today... :erm:
Silent Hill (2006) is the best thing? The sequel was terrible.
Tarantino should do a cult movie. He would excel at reviving that old genre.
Martyrs was an excellent cult story. The original French-Canadien, not the American remake.
The Village was okay, but not really cult-y.
For TV, True Detective was solid.

How much of Tron Legacy's score did Daft Punk actually compose..?
And if I were to get this CD physically which edition would you guys recommend me? To answer your first question:
That depends on who you ask and who knows what. In the back of the booklet, Daft Punk thank HZ, John Powell, HGW and Christophe Beck. The score was mixed at RCP. AND it has a very RCP style sound. And then you have to take into consideration the fact that Disney was in no way going to allow two guys who have never composed for film before do it all on their own. Joseph Trapanese is responsible for some material, and Toby Chu (an RCP minion) is credited on Adagio for TRON (OST title) or 4m21 Flynn's Flashback (official cue title).
To answer your second question:
As far as I'm aware, the US version is the digipack fold-out style. It was only after I bought this version did I see a special edition online. I think that version includes the iTunes digital bonus tracks, but in physical form, of course. The vinyl also has the bonus tracks (which doesn't happen often), so maybe the vinyl and the special edition are the same? I do not know if it's in a jewel case, though.
One more thing: you're aware I just posted my film mix (

If you listen to the Tron TV series, and more of Oblivion, you can get an idea of what sort of things Trapanese did for the film.
I think Daft Punk would have done mostly the digital parts of the score.
Trapanese the symphonic parts.
The scene where CLU shows up to the games and walking all slow motion for the fireworks, that beat was probably DP.
The strings that play after the whole game scene where Quorra and Flynn Jr are riding into the outlands, that's probably JT.

That show was seriously underrated. Fucking loved it!
I wish Disney would release a Blu-Ray set, seeing as they don't plan to continue with the series anyways... But at the same time, barely anyone watched (which was their fault to begin with) so producing and manufacturing a Blu-Ray set would be a waste of money as they probably wont make a profit off of it.

There was that rumor that Hans Zimmer and RCP severely edited what Daft Punk composed after test audiences were having issues in terms of the score fitting with the film.
I'm really having an issue in believing this because:
1). Daft Punk's own Interstella 5555 prove that they managed to mesh an album, which probably wasn't intended for a film in the first place, with visuals very well.
2). Thomas Bangalter alone has composed a film prior to Tron (which funnily enough contains Tron like sounds), Gaspar No's Irrversible, giving him some experience.
3). The recording sessions would need to have sounded drastically different compared to the final product, which it really doesn't.
4). Daft Punk themselves would've brought more attention to this in public, seeing as they like to be very much in control for artistic integrity.
I honestly believe that, because they were big fans of the material and being in another new advancement in their careers, they were very nervous. So, they needed assistance from the people that have been in the film scoring business longer, hence all those people being thanked in the booklet (and maybe in the film credits).
As far as I'm aware, the US version is the digipack fold-out style. It was only after I bought this version did I see a special edition online. Okay, this is going to be a bit of a mess to explain. Tron Legacy is one of those soundtracks that had different versions released on different providers to have Disney get more money.
The versions out there are:
1). The original release
2). The special edition, which includes 5 bonus tracks (ENCOM Part I, ENCOM Part II, Round One, Castor, Reflections)
3). The iTunes release, which includes 2 bonus tracks (Father and Son & Outlands, Part II)
4). The Amazon release, which has one extra track (Sea of Simulation)
5). The Nokia Music Store release (who uses this store is beyond me) has one extra track (Sunrise Prelude)
6). The vinyl edition, which has all the previous bonus tracks (save for the iTunes ones, which is strange)
7). On Google Play, there is an EP that includes that includes all the bonus tracks from the vinyl.
I know we're only referring to the physical items, but it's best to have a list of all officially available versions.
I guess if we're going to refer to most complete, the vinyl would be best, seeing as it has the most tracks.
If we had to stick with CDs strictly, the 2CD Digipak is the way to go, seeing as the normal CD isn't worth it alone.
If those don't satisfy, you can always try to make your own custom version, using either Metrotokyo or DAK's version. It's definitely for those who have the time and patience, but it would be a neat presentation. I mean just look at this this (

But don't forget, all it took was for the artist to draw their little cartoon to match an arrangement of cross-fading music.
It's not like they remixed their music or anything. They just made a CD, hit play, and let the artists do all the work.
A better example would be their little home made movies. That one with the car driving along the road for an hour.

watching really old movie: The Witches (1990)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AeJ2VHssPI
Growing up, watching that, I had a severe distrust in anyone that wore pointed shoes. I don't think that made the clip. But right after it says, they witches don't have toes so they never wear pointed shoes or regular shoes. And it shows a shot of the square cut-offs they wear instead.
Growing up in a small town, you see a LOT of older people wearing square shoes. :erm: Just like in the movie.
Witches of Eastwick right after.
Dying for The Witch (2016).

I don't know why, but witches always remind me of stories my schizophrenic uncle used to talk about when we were kids.
We're Native American / First Nations / Aboriginal / American Indian / Western Indian / "Not that kind of Indian".
My blood is of the Tsimshian (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsimshian) tribe.
Our uncle used to tell us of a Native witch that would stalk people if they pissed them off.
This would be anything you hear in moral stories: bumping into them and not saying you're sorry, spitting chewed bubble gum on the sidewalk, etc.
They would follow you and wait for you to leave your DNA behind, such as spat out chewed bubble gum.
Then they would shapeshift into a wolf and stalk you in both forms. Not a lycanthrope. This wasn't a super wolf.
(In our culture, regardless of tribe, shape-shifting was a common power. Probably limited to just one animal. Probably related to a chosen "spirit animal".)
Just a regular wolf that looked like any other wolf you would encounter if you went off the road (no, not The Moors, just the vast wilderness of trees here).
Except, this wolf you should be able to distinguish from any other. As it had one particular trait you might easily overlook. This wolf had one blue, creamy eye. If you were keen or generally kept an awareness of your surroundings and people in it, you would have seen someone before with the very same creamy, blue eye.
Of course, you don't believe in superstition at this point and shrug it off as a coincidence.
Until you see it too often and too frequent. Too close to your living quarters. Too close for comfort.
How the story ends is always different. Some people end up killing the wolf and it turns back into the witch that was stalking them. Others are killed by the wolf. But the stories end with a death. There is no room for forgiveness or any chance of peace in the stories. One must always die.
I don't know why my crazy, stoned uncle told us these stories. They were fun. He knew I was always into writing. Short stories, lots of short stories.
I have never had anyone else in our family tell us these stories. Not even blood relatives (he married into our name).
Maybe he wanted to give me inspiration for my writing. Maybe he wanted to sue me later if I ever wrote what he said. Maybe he wanted to impart stories that were told unto him as a child. Maybe he was just too damn stoned and had too many thoughts in his head at the time. :itsamystery:
 I don't even know why I told you guys this.
Maybe it's because my mom posted a picture of a chicken my aunt and cousins had on their farm (of which she is visiting) and it triggered some thoughts on witchery.
I asked my mom to get some folklore from them before she leaves just so I can twist them into good horror stories. :smrt:
---------- Post added at 08:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:01 PM ----------
:erm: Actually... there's another moral story about chewing bubble gum before you go to bed...
A Sasquatch will break into the house in the middle of the night and destroy everything trying to look for you if you chew gum as you go to sleep.
It never manages to find you, for some reason. It more or less just terrorizes you and then when you go to the dentist for a cavity from all that chewing gum in your sleep, the doctor takes off the mask only to reveal its the Sasquatch:
"And that's why you should always brush your teeth before bed."

I really want it horror-genre.
Not a lot of Native horror out there.

Want to see Sparky's head explode, like in Scanners, another really old movie?
Show him a film in black and white.
Then tell him the reason its in b & w is back then we hadn't invented color yet.
The world didn't have color until the 1960's with the advent of the color TV.
Yes, kids, we owe our wonderful world of color to the cathode ray tube.

I don't think we're on the same page.
It took forever to remember the movie The Witches because it has such a limited release.
I only was able to rent it on VHS.
By the time DVD's came around, it never popped into my head and it got put into the kid's section, which I never visit.
And it's still not on bluray.
A lot of older movies, like Metropolis, get bluray.
Betty Boop and Buster Keaton get really nice bluray transfers.
It's "old" because it's on antiquated mediums.
I should have said that it was really "forgotten".
I've seen a lot of old fucking movies, and that's pretty well known, too.
So shove that condescending stick back up your fucking ass.

watching really old movie: The Witches (1990).
I read the book five, six times. Roald Dahl was a favorite of mine.
I don't think he was a fan of the film though. He seemed to really dislike film adaptations that made drastic changes to the plot.
I wonder what he would have thought of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?

I saw SW 7 in 4DX theater, it's was top, the beginning during the famous intro, the seats recline very slowly to follow the intro, the only thing who was bad is about the 3D because SW7 is native 2D and the 2D conversion is generaly horrible , in plus @ theater it's 3D passive with full of ghosting, @ home I have a 85" UHD screen with 3D active, it's very different.
But true, I m happy to see SW7 in my home theater in 2D with full hd upscaled 4k with the new UB900 Panasonic.
