Yeah, musicals are not for everyone, I know...
Also something that's incomprehensible to me. XD
Anyway, you can simply skip the songs. :)
I personally love Alan Menken's score music!
Speaking of Disney ... Surely you know Jerry Goldsmith's "Mulan", right?
Especially because, as far as I could see, you're a fan of his music. That's also a great score, by the way!

Mulan, of course; I actually even like "Honour to Us All".
And I have no bad things to say about pre-90s "Classic" Disney fare. It's just the soggy noodle Broadway/Top 40 Pop influence that turns me off the vast majority of song focused scores.

Yep. It was highly disrespectful, and just plain dumb. The many instances of their refusing to stand and clap for what makes perfect common sense, and for what is actually truly righteous, shows their true colors, and clearly demonstrates their corruption.
I was thinking to myself, 'why would anyone in their right mind not show their support for these declarations and motions?'. Pelosi for example was almost unbelievable, I swear she's in a different reality. But even thereafter the speech during the anchor's comments, the woman made the perfect observation "I don't know why they would jeer that". Yeah, I don't either. It was pretty ridiculous. But whatever, I guess. We already know most of the democrat's game. But I do want to mention how there are those few that are pretty good. Some actually had the decency to stand and give a round of applause when it was called for.
To say of Trump's speech, it was outstanding and was indeed unifying.

When the hell was "not clapping" disrespctful all of a sudden? I've had many instances where I couldn't give a fuck to clap, and I wasn't chastised for it. It's merely a matter of choice. Besides, it's DEMOCRATS. Are you really surprised?
Other than that, from the summarizations (that I hope aren't biased) that I heard, Trump has the right ideas and words. With how forward his actions have been, I could live more comfortably these next few years (though I want to hear more about that Obamacare replacement). Though I can imagine the more cynical picking apart his words.

No, not surprised. And it's nothing new either. But to see the obvious contrast between the two sides, particularly seeing most of the democrats remain seated and pout for ideas that, are really beneficial to all Americans and the country as a whole, and really promoting of constitutional ideas - and this is from an objective point, not something you can really be opinionated about - was unsettling, worrying, and a little irritating all at the same time. It's also a bit hypocritical, seeing as how they've been known to bicker about things along these lines to be contrary and strongly opposing to what Trump wants to do, and what he wishes for the country. So, once again, I'm not surprised, but I felt kind of like 'what the hell is the problem? What's wrong with that?' at a lot of points.

One of the things I like about Trump is when he announces these concepts, and his intentions to the American people, you know he means it. And he's shown that, and proven himself. I'm feeling pretty positive about what his administration can get accomplished, and what they already have accomplished, while others continue to exist in the distorted reality where his executive orders are apparently like this (

I am not. Brett Ratner destroyed X3, Gavin Hood shat on the first Wolverine story, and James Mangold made two mediocre follow-ups. Not to mention Beltrami's two mediocre scores. Logan sounded a lot like Hell Or High Water, which is Nick Cave & Warren Ellis.
Edit: I forgot about Matthew Vaughn. First Class was great. As was Kick-Ass and from what I've heard, Kingsmen.

That's one of my favorite later songs of his during the "American Recordings" era. The version heard during the end credits of Logan (which I'm assuming you've just seen which is why you're listening to it?) isn't the regular version. It's not as present, as full. It's not *quite* the "Early Version" off of The Legend of Johnny Cash, but it's also not quite a demo.

You may. This specific track is the only one I've really listened to, but skimming throughout the album, it's mostly ambient. There are some deviations here and there. I can't say for sure, but I would probably recommend it. I just adore how that section of "Good Night" was manipulated and repeated. It's wonderful. It translates very well to a stationary ambient/string chamber ensemble piece. It's almost mesmerizing, especially at it's given length and considering the specific section that was chosen to repeat throughout.

Logan is disappointing. Beltrami has disappointed me with every score of his since he left the horror genre.
I like sound design, though. Not Inferno, that's too much. Disappointing effort by HZ & Co. CHAPPiE is good though.
I do like the cover of I Wanna Be Sedated, though. It's not often we get lucky and have the trailer song included on the OST.

Logan is disappointing.
That might be, at least partly, James Mangold's fault. Apparently "in an effort to be “unconventional” Mangold directed Beltrami to avoid melody and orchestra."

Tried to watch Fences, which got 1 Academy Award.
Movie blows and couldn't get past 45 minutes.
All I remember is watermelons and $10. That's the only impression it left.
It's like putting a candid camera around Denzel Washington and watching him go senile and living in a junkie neighborhood.
I can really see that the older he gets, the more he'll start rambling.
Tried to watch Manchester By The Sea and only made it as far as the shaks bit and then shut it off.
Moonlight does not interest me in the slightest and I have no wish to subject my peers to it on Plex.
I have spared them.
Hacksaw Ridge, Suicide Squad and Arrival aside, I don't get the oscars.
I have not watched LLL. There's only a dvd screener out for it and I don't watch those.
It feels like every year there's more and more slim pickings.
Harry Potter fantasy movie gets best cotume?
Well, I guess there weren't a lot of "new" movies that presented time periods to emaculate details.
We've seen the gumshoe era too much with Warren Beaty's movie. Beaten horse costume genre.
Same goes for swinging LLL. Beaten costume era.
War movies present nothing new for costumes or makeup. Nothing at all.
It's all story and score for those.
Suicide Squad should have won the costumes.

Hergest Ridge (1976 Quad Mix) - Mike Oldfield
Certainly better in decoded form than the stereo version, but the choice of removing instruments and emphasizing others creates a more repetitive and hollower atmosphere that isn't as compelling to hear as the original mix. I still appreciate the chap who did the hard work of decoding it (who I donated to), and it's still better than the 2010 mix (a mix that crams far more, but makes it sound flat and lifeless). Was worth the $2.95.

The same duo from Drunk Master 1.
You'll never see training like that in Western movies.
Giant swarms of soldiers doing the same kata stances is all you get here.
The same outdoor scenery, the same camera angles, the same music.
The flop, The Forbidden Kingdom, was about the closest we got to a neat training montage.
From Dragonball, to Forbidden Kingdom, to Avatar: The Last Airbender, Hollywood just refuses to go bold.
There are plenty of Asian male actors in b movies and tv shows doing all the same kicks and shouting.
If Byung-hun Lee had better English, he could get more roles with more dialogue and eventually lead an action movie that the West has wanted for so many years.

At least in X-Men Origins, the actors looked excited to be there. Here they're just trying to get their comic book movie street cred. Rachel McAdams in particular.
And Spider-Man 3 is entertaining to me in a strange way. So much silliness!
As far as the writing goes, Marvel wasn't interested in anything even remotely novel for Doctor Strange, and it painfully shows.

Same. I never really 'got' why it's so reviled.
Sure, it's not the best thing in the world, and the moral they try to shove down your throat is fucking stupid, but there are a lot of fun moments if I remember correctly.

Uh... which..one? :p Because I know there's a bunch of 'em.
Edit: But if you want to hear it now, here it is (
https://youtu.be/E4vxDwXE2e8?t=2m39s) beginning at the section I specified.
Lol, I meant to add this to my previous post, but I inadvertently clicked the quote button... :erm:
But anyway, it's another one of the most beautiful themes I've heard. I don't expect this sort of thing from modern films - ever. That's why Gods of Egypt came at a bit of a surprise to me.

Simple: It was pretty fucking stupid. Your movie loses credibility when the resolution is shooting Wolverine in the head with an adamantium bullet to lose his memory. And it works. SOMEHOW.
Still, it's probably a fine piece of entertainment. My 9 year old self sure enjoyed it.

Adamantium can penetrate adamantium? You sure? (I already fixed the post btw)

Yeah. The other two Wolverine movies deal with this idea as well

This is one hell of a music video. Those last few seconds just sell it. Probably the most excited I've been about a DP product in quite a while.

Redband trailer for "Atomic Blonde" with Charlize Theron.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI7HVnZlleo
It looks like something that was going to be made at the same time as Lucy but held off because Theron was doing Mad Max and other movies.
I don't know any of the crew attached. (director, writers)
Looking at their IMDb profiles, I know of the movies, but their names are not what people talk about (at all) when mentioning 300 and other movies.
It looks like it's drawing heavy on inspiration from Louis Leterrier & Luc Besson.
Which means only 1/9th of North America will like it.

Does anyone have suggestions for old-timey artists? Like Frank Sinatra and earlier. For instance The Ink Spots, Peggy Lee, Bing Crosby etc. Or maybe like a nice compilation album. If you've ever played a Fallout game you know what I mean.

Sure you do: it's one of the two directors of the first John Wick.
The movie is based on the 2012 graphic novel The Coldest City.
And how does a movie about a woman whose intelligence has been chemically enhanced resemble a movie about a spy in the final days of the Cold War?
All blondes look alike to you?

The Ronettes, The Drifters, The Four Tops, The Crystals, The Contours. Although they're not as old as the Fallout music you're looking for. Those guys are more 60's. Fallout is earlier than that. You want 40's-50's.

Yes they do. It doesn't look like much stock was put into a gripping storyline or anything involving emotion.
Looks like another action flick.
The story doesn't need to be there, just the action, lesbian sex, and costumes.

Started watching Adventure Time and love it so far.
John DiMaggio was the selling point to check it out.
The humor is very sudden. Bursts of craziness. And the dark humor really tickles me. The Ice King laughing with a snowball he just created and then smashes it against the ground. :changspew:

Adventure Time eventually fell into the same pit Regular Show did, where the creators got more interested in developing the characters through arcs rather than building blocks.

I'll add season 1 soon.
Trying out lots of new shows.
I'm waiting so much for season 3 of Rick and Morty.

:erm: Well, so far, only season 1 was done in hi10p. So I think I'll tentatively check out season 2.
I might stick to season 1 only.
Some youtube clips are to be made.
