Between updates to SVP 4 Pro and Avisynth+ and its plugins, interpolation has gotten a lot better.
I'm starting to watch movies (NTSC_FILM, 23.976 (24000/1001)) at 3x the interpolated rate on a monitor hacked to 71.928Hz and there's barely any artefacts.

Granted, I'm at 720p only and settings are not maximized for everything.

One of the biggest mistakes most users do is maximize settings on SVP 4 Pro and complain about their artifacts and then say they shouldn't get any because they got a high end system.

Can't wait for bluray to this show.

Wow, I'm shocked! I just hear it on YouTube right now and it's undoubtedly a imitation of Bla's work from "The Wooden Prince".
Nevertheless, I love Horner's version a whole lot more! And I say this with my sincere appreciation to the original composer...

The two "art music" composers whose compositional voice most influenced movie music written after 1950 are Bla and Igor (as in Stravinsky); with others like Debussy, Scriabin, and Webern filling out the expressionist to serial soundscape gamut.

Igor's Rite of Spring ranks as the preeminent influence (most imitated) composition.

My, this is a beautiful cue! A very good track, reminiscent of some classical sort of style. There's definitely some Vivaldi in here, I think.

This is a decent score, from what time I've given to it. There is indeed a classical essence within a number of the tracks.

Edit: Man, this score would so benefit from a fully-orchestrated performance. But it does still sound very decent, though, it's just mainly the brass that pails, and I can tell that there are some solo violin sections here and there, and those are lovely.

I admit not caring for the film much either. Like every other MCU film, it only works well for me watching it for the first time in theaters and that's it. It doesn't help I'm not too keen on a universe reliant franchise, as well as missing the boat when it started. Spidey is for the first time being portrayed in film as a real teenager, not some twenty-something who barely can pass as a high school senior. That's why he's a 'Spider-boy' in this case. They're doing it right.
Peter Parker was an annoying little snot in the early comics too. That's a piece of why he's always been so popular. Readers see a bit of their snooty selves in his jeering.

I wish they hadn't compromised when it came to Aunt May though.

Just got out of Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk

It didn't feel like 120fps, but I definitely noticed a difference. It didn't piss me off like The Hobbit did. The 3D/4K aspect of it was amazing.

As for the film itself, it was nothing to write home about but I did enjoy it. Garrett Hedlund and Vin Diesel were both pretty good.

And now for DAK's Long 5th Avenue Walk down to Rockefeller Center :p

I did. I had forgotten the thing was supposed to come out yesterday. so when I saw it at Apollo, I was quick to grab both the digital solo and 24bit trilogy releases. A shame the Trilogy CD Box Set (https://www.amazon.com/Oxygene-Trilogy-Jean-Michel-Jarre/dp/B01LYSXE17/ref=sr_1_2_twi_aud_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480803162&sr=8-2&keywords=jean+michel+jarre) doesn't come out til next year in the US, but it would make for a neat birthday gift (seeing as it's a day before).

I couldn't get much into classic artists of pop or jazz.
My family never got into it, so by association, my experience was thusly limited.

Classical genre and scores were more my thing for Christmas music.

Anything to do with Carol of the Bells was definitely music to my ears:

Christopher Drake - Arkham Origins OST
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rJlislyQsw

Little Drummer Boy had a nice little melody to it.
Although, I admit, it sounded a lot more brooding and suspensful when I first heard it.
It made me think of war movies and death.
To this day, I have no real idea what the song is supposed to be about.
I just hear the drums of death and gloom crawling after someone.

Some games had some fun jingly tunes, iirc.

@ManRay what didn't you like about it?

There were a couple of Things, let's see...

-The CGI was kinda bad in Places (Falcon's Drone for Example)

-Brhl acted an okay-ish Villain, but Zemo's Plot relied to much on Chance and Coincidence.

-Scarlet Witch's flippy floppy Attitude. "I deserve to be imprisoned" "Naw, i am over it, let's go and fuck up even more Shit"

-Ant Man's Appearance made no Sense, in his Movie didn't he struggle to leave the criminal Life behind him and be with his Daughter ?
All goes out the Window in CW...

-Same with Hawkeye. Motivations to come out of Retirement and become a Vigilante ? Boredom, i guess ?

-Tony get's all weepy over causing the Death of Sharpe's Son, yet has no Qualms sending a 15-16 Year old Boy
against Captain America and the Wintersoldier. Cap might pull his Punches, but at that Point they still want Bucky
for the Bombing of the Sokovia Accords Conference, he is still considered a stone cold Murderer by #TeamIronMan...

-Rhodey should have been Pure after that Fall, but that one is up for Debate, still, Marvel's Unwillingness to kill off Characters...

-The Humour (what little there was) was an absolute Miss for me, but that can be chalked up to Opinions...

-But seriously, that Star Wars Quip by Spiderman had me literally (and i mean literally) cringing in my Chair.
Haw Haw Haw, so funny, they're both Disney Franchises, get it ?

-Spiderman really grated my Nerves, he was neither funny nor witty...
(That one is pretty big for me, Spidey should be taunting his Foes and making witty Remarks as often as possible during Fights)
Holland might be worse than Garfield, something i thought to be impossible...

-No Appearance by Hill or Fury ? One should think S.h.i.e.l.d. would at least have a passing Interest/weigh in with an Opinion
on the Sokovia Accords.

There's more, but i think it's clear that i pretty much hated CW...

Rereading this Post i don't think it's a Case of Nitpicking...

Shame, i liked The Wintersoldier, that Film was a lot better.

Ultron was pretty decent compared to CW.

Manray, I think I'm liking your vision of Spider-Man more, since that's also exactly what I grew up with. Thing is: I didn't know Spidey was supposed to be a quippy guy when I was little. Maybe it was the Raimi films not doing much with it (though it's there), but I never got the idea. It wasn't until TASM failing at it when I realised that was a pivotal aspect of the character, and that hit in the nail with Civil War getting it right.

Still, I think Maguire will always be my guy, with TAS and Spectacular being close seconds. Sorry for doubting your understanding of the character.

Sully was more of a pointless movie.
A documentary would have been better and served better to tell the tale.
But I guess Eastwood knows most prefer movies over books or documentaries.
I bet the crash scene would have been spectacular and more meaningful in IMAX with Dolby Atmos.

The bluray has Atmos audio, but I don't have an Atmos receiver.
I just watched it on the stereo TV speakers since it's just a small drama chick flick.

Oh yeah, I got that album too. I'm uploading it currently to post it in the Shrine. It's a lovely artsy game, and the soundtrack is gorgeous indeed.

Why not Torax3?

Because today isn't the 75th Anniversary of Torax3

I love it when the Backgrounds look as if they were drawn by Hand. I am not gaming much lately,
but i might check it out, the Game's got very good Reviews. Almost done with the first Pass of the Album,
definitively won't be the last one... :)

A day of infamy.

Should add the HBO series: The Pacific to the list.

Such a wonderful release! ^^

Track # 12, "The Children Pray" is the very special one I've been thinking about for a couple of years... So beautiful!

Ya it's actually both of the film's 75th anniversary when accounting for the subject matter. But none of the films were released today.

When you say "Torax3", it sounds like the 3rd Lorax film. I should've realized what you meant. And I'm watching PH because I own the Blu-ray. And I planned on watching it today anyway. Only seen it once. Didn't realize that Dan Akroyd, Michael Shannon, Jennifer Garner and Jamie King were in it.

Yup. PH was released in May of 2001, 7 months shy of the 60th Anniversary.

We Can't Stop (Miley Cyrus cover) - Bastille (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pZi7CXE2ac)

Man, the original song is a massive piece of shit, but these guys manage to make it work somehow. Don't even mention all the other songs they threw in.

"Something I Can Never Have" (Vitamin String Quartet cover)

The minute I heard this in Westworld, I knew it was SICNH.
Good episode. Good show, good music.

I just recently listened to the soundtrack for the Crown series. I haven't watch the series but the soundtrack is amazing. This is the second album of ever listen to from Rupert Gregson Williams, Second to hacksaw ridge. it is completely mind blowing. I was wondering if anyone on here had any thoughts in relation to VF Y.C. album being different than what is actually released? Do you think that the show will get an FYC album? Also has anyone here listen to "the hollow crown war of the roses" soundtrack? If so what are your thoughts on that soundtrack and hasn't been released on here? Thanks I look forward to responses. :)
