And there's a few more moments that aren't in this picture.

?oh=09fcfe1954d20da73d864b14c94170f1&oe=57D55665
Not a lot of people agree, but the series finale can be added to that.
It was the perfect moment for Lela and Fry to really connect with each other. And the chemistry was great for years, it showed.
It was like watching a really old black and white episode of The Twilight Zone where something like that would happen.
TTZ isn't all puppets and pop-up book horror.
The movie had a really great, sweet spot. Of course, it was Spielberg's segment. That segment was a remake from the original series.
The ending where they decide to go back, even though they won't remember a thing, makes it beautiful.
It was like Christopher Nolan directed that episode.
It leaves it open for the series to get picked up somewhere else again, but it also leaves it nicely closed if they never get picked up again.
We can imagine the shenanigans and chemistry ourselves.
I actually want to go back and recut some of the episodes to include music from Nolan's films. Be it Zimmer or Julyan.

Are you kidding? Josh Trank is never getting work in the film industry again.
His pouty Tweet has been calculated to have cost Fox millions in terms of box office sales.
But Simon Kimberg is a shit talker. Always talks out of his ass. After all, he wrote X-Men 3. :smrt:

It's going to be years until Fox tries the FF again.
After reading a lot material about the movie and why it failed - and the definitive article has yet to be written - it failed IMO because
1: The movie was more than Trank could handle. Fox should have assigned him a strong producer to handle the day to day problems and let Trank focus on the film.
2: Fox cut the budget and major scenes from the agreed upon script just before production on the movie began.
3: The film's tone was way too dour. A film can be serious but entertaining - like Captain America: Civil War - without veering into solemn and dull.
Personally, I think they should set the FF at the dawn of the 1960's much as they did X-Men: First Class.

F4 showed potential of being a psychological sci-fi action thriller, unfortunately you can't really purpose those on top of a paint-by-number studio superhero film template with its associated vanilla cookie-cutter character arcs.

10-to-1 that the Mountain has Geoffrey's head on instead of the Mountain's head.
Puprle face, like the Purple Wedding.
The Mountain died from stabbing/bleeding.
Sure, bodies decay and decompose. But Geoffrey remained purple as a husk.
The Mountain remained colorfully white as a husk.
It's also called "forshadowing".
I was right about the Red Witch so I didn't care that
John Snow died. We all knew the witch was going to bring him back.
What we didn't know is that they wrote it so she doesn't ever reveal whether or not she learned that power.
She didn't. They kept that a secret to build tension for the start of season 6.
But, it's all there. Whether or not she learned it. That one travelling hippie learned it and uses it like he breathes.
The witch is a priestess.
Kind of flawed setup to build people's hopes up then put then on the edge of their seat when she says "I don't know if I can".
It's not really about the caster, it's about the Lord of the Light and the one who's dead.

Just like when I called it that
Robb Stark, his wife and the mother were going to die when the mother gave blessing for Robb to break an oath during war and marry another.
The minute she said yes, I said "they're dead".
And then as soon as I heard the Lannister's song playing, I was all like...

10-to-1 that the Mountain has Geoffrey's head on instead of the Mountain's head.
Possible, but doubtful. Reasons why:
1: Joffrey's head is much smaller than the Mountain's - Joffrey was a child and the Mountain was, well, a mountain of a man - and the helmet the Franken-Mountain wears is proportional in size to his torso. Grafting Joffrey's head to the Mountain's body would make him look like a medieval version of BB-8.
2: The Maester has skills at reanimation, but I doubt he's cracked the micro-surgical skills or has the tools necessary to sever a spine, spinal cord, blood vessels and attach a different head and re-graft all of the aforementioned. The transplanting of a head is not like swapping out the SIM card on your smart phone.
3: There's no advantage to grafting Joffrey's head to the Mountain's body. Joffrey had neither the fighting skills, battle experience or courage - remember how he turned tail and ran leaving Tyrion behind during the Battle of Blackwater Bay? - a warrior needs to be successful. Do a head swap and all that experience is lost, like tears in the rain.
So Joffrey-Mountain, no.
Franken-Mountain, yes.

The underlying idea of a James Bond styled monster hunter could have been a fun one, but with Stephen Sommers directing - who is at best a poor man's Michael Bay - the enterprise was pretty much doomed. But at least Jackman was heroic and Beckinsale fetching and regardless of what puppet master thinks it had an energetic score.

Why is every movie filmed only for theaters?
The dark screens appear great in theaters because they're built for it and the film is not constrained to limited YUV colorspaces.
Home video YUV loses so much of the original colors.
Just finished watching "The Finest Hours" and it was extremely dark.
Brightening any of the movies, and it washes out the blacks and makes it all grey. :/

The Spanish of Latin America tends, from my admitted limited knowledge, to be somewhat less formal than the Spanish spoken in Spain. The Real Academia sets the grammatical standards and Castilian Spanish is the gold standard although the folks in Catalan might disagree. (In the same way "Hochdeutsch" or high or standard German is the version everyone learns in school. Germany has so many dialects and some dialects are difficult for a non-native to understand, hence the standardization of the language. Hochdeutsch also tends to be the dialect spoken on TV or radio much as Received Pronunciation or BBC English is employed in the UK.)
Sorry to have gotten into the weeds there. When I said how well the song translated into Spanish I was referring not to the grammar but rather the rhythm and flow of the song. Some songs don't translate well and sound clunky and awkward when sung in another language. (I'm thinking of Nena's "99 Luftballons" which became "99 Red Ballons" in English and did not, IMO, work at all.)
"You've got a friend in me" did work and worked well. Of course, it was the Gipsy Kings, so . . .

uploading a ringtone I made a long time ago to Soundcloud yesteray.
https://soundcloud.com/sparktank/edith-piaf-non-je-ne-regrette-rien-short-kick-edit
It's Inception-inspired.
Well, it really is Inception since it uses Edith Piaf and Hans Zimmer.
It's all Piaf, really.
The opening titles to Inception is just Non, je ne regrette rien's horn introduction slowed down and tweaked alot.
I did a lot to it, really.
I took the horn intro for NJNRR and mixed into the first verse of the singing, just like in the film.
The film does it, I imagine to make the song more outstanding and 'action packed'. The singing without the horn intro mixed into it would sound very standard.
The horn intro needs to be in there to make it more prominent to the audience.
SO they mixed it to keep it short. Since it's only used for a few seconds on-screen.
Movie-time has to be kept at a faster rate than normal.
Only the first time in the film, I believe, they let the horn intro play out fully and then the singing. The scene called for such a relaxed time frame.
The rest of the film, needing the kick quickly as they are running around, they have to mix them to keep it all prominent.
So I did that.
Then I ran just the vocal part without the horn mixing (aka just the 'normal' version of the song) and then ran it through paulstretch.
Twice.
The first time I only ran it through at 2x the normal speed so it runs double the play time in slow motion.
Then I ran the original through at 4x.
Now I got 3 versions:
1) horn+vocal mix
2) original*2
3) original*4
I then edited all three. Overlapping/mixing them so the song progresses from 1x the normal speed then slows down to 2x then slows to 4x in a very seamless fashion. Nicely blended.
Then it was just a matter of throwing the Inception intro in there at some point, overlapping the slow motion Edith Piaf.
I managed to keep it all 20 seconds.
I didn't want 30 seconds. That would be too long. 25 was too long.
15 was way too short to register what's going on.
20 is the sweet spot. Not 19, not 21. 20.
I've been using that as a ringtone/alarm for a long time.
One time, when I was getting my internet installed, a Shaw technician showed up and we were waiting for the modem to boot and my phone went off and he sort of freaked out not knowing what was going on.
He probably saw the movie but he didn't mention anything about the film. But it really tripped him out. :doc:
Good stuff, good stuff.

The Finest Hours (2016) end credits.
Carter Burwell taps into his older work from The Jackal and it shines brightly into the film.
Highly recommended score, the movie is worth a watch.
The "Haul Away Joe" song gets a remake from some 21st century artist(s): Kodaline
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2025690/soundtrack
Looking up Kodaline on IMDb there, they're in a lot of new-age films.
This old version is very kick-ass, imo.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvBHdw-EqLM
The cover version from Kodaline is neat. It blends entirely into the score and plays nicely.
Naturally, this makes the entire end credits effectively stereo. Even the score.
The film was mixed for 7.1 surround sound buyers, but since it's not a major action flick, it got stereo music.
I still find Atmos-mixed films to have the best discreet surround sound music mixes.
Love John Wick end credits to death because Tyler Bates really went out of his way to mix it for 21st centurians.
Knocks the old way out of the water that everyone talks about and brags about knowing.

Just finished watching Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
Not a lot of action as you would expect. It's pretty much all you see in the trailers.
It banks entirely on parody and character story.
By the time you get to the end of the movie, all the fun is sucked dry and the movie becomes a living epitome of the villains they're portraying: It just keeps on going even though it's dead.
Some nice gimmicks. It would have been better as a much shorter film.
Some plot devices are laregly underplayed and put in the film just for a camera shot/effect.
I see what people mean when they razz on the zombie genre.
There's a lot of crap George A. Romero made in recent years that just screams SyFy Original.
Land of the Dead was the last great zombie movie he made. That one was more just fun and chaos.
I didn't watch any of them but the posters and trailers alone were red flags.
Plus a lot of low-budget films also screamed red flags.
The only cheesefest I actually want to watch is Snow Zombies and that one made in Australia.
Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead (2014)
It looks like stupid action that's actually much more fun over some found-footage zombie movie.
Someone's "best zombie movies since 2000" list on IMDb.
http://www.imdb.com/list/ls003533694/

I'll slog my Way through it again on the Weekend or so ;)
That's exactly how i wanna feel when playing Doom, and it works toward that effect, all it's missing is a couple more Nods to
Robert Prince's Music.
As I said, I've been into heavy/darker music recently, so I'm just absolutely loving Wolfenstein: The New Order's and DOOM's soundtracks.
I'll just go ahead and quote Mick Gordon himself to describe these soundtracks better:
"DOOM is... here, it's claustrophobic, its.. agressive, it's brutal, it's tactile, it drills into your face, it's piercing, it's at you."
I imagine he was describing DOOM (both 1993 and 2016, possibly), and it's music, to which the 2016 version's music he may be referring to, but I think it can also go for some of The New Order's (and Killer Instinct's) music.
In addition to what he mentioned, it can also be melodic sometimes, in some varied fashions.
Yeah, i know what you mean, but mostly i am more than content with what the official Release gives me...
IF THERE IS ONE !!
Screw you Sonic&Knuckles !!
I know! There wasn't a release for Sonic The Hedgehog 3 either!! :notgood:

I love Prince's Music, but imho Doom 1 had the slightly stronger Tracklist, i think "At Dooms Gate"
is the best Intro Track to any Game ever, and i simply adore "Nobody told me about Id" aka The Tower of Babel...
I agree. I've known "At Doom's Gate" since I was about 6 or so. One of the most memorable video game tunes ever. It gets you pumped for the close-coming cleanse of evil. :p
I have to say DOOM II's "Running From Evil is a great opener too. Dat bass in the beginning, it's just awesome.

I don't even have the games' soundtracks, nor have I actually listened to them, but I've heard plenty of the music while watching my brother play them, and it is really good music.

Yeah! I mean, from what I've heard, it's all good, so any arrangements I imagine being real good as well.
