Likewise. Started it years ago and never finished.
I'd say the list of films in which I haven't seen that still have an impact on pop culture today is about as big as the list of films I have seen that still have a pop culture influence. 50/50.

Wait, you've not seen The Shining all the way through? I have, and this was a couple years ago, I was 11 or 12!
And, just so I'm getting this straight, you're older than me, and you've not seen the The Shining.

It's an excellent movie taken on its own merits. Cinematography is stunning and the Kubrick gets some excellent performances from his actors, especially the boy who played Danny. However, compared to the book, the movie falls short. I agree with King's assessment that Kubrick was perhaps too logical in his worldview to fully buy into the notion of the supernatural which is the driving force of the book.

It's good that you've seen both. I thought Psycho sucked the first time I saw it. I was warned the shower scene wouldn't live up to today's standards, and sure enough it did not. However, I was also an ignorant 15 year-old who didn't appreciate film yet (and was also jaded). Now I love it.

Yeah exactly; whatever. This did not need to be brought up in the first place. It's been brought up before, much too often.
I've explained my reasoning before. I do not see it as much much of a problem, but you and some do.
We don't all think the same way, and that does not bother me. You shouldn't let it bother you, but I will not tell you what to do.

Biff: But, what are you blind McFly, it's there. How else do you explain that wreck out there?
George: Now, Biff, um, can I assume that your insurance is gonna pay for the damage?
Biff: My insurance, it's your car, your insurance should pay for it.
Hey, I wanna know who's gonna pay for this? I spilled beer all over it when that car smashed into me.
Who's gonna pay my cleaning bill?
George: Uh?
Biff: And where's my reports?
George: Uh, well, I haven't finished those up yet, but you know I figured since they weren't due till-

TVdb is nice.
I trust their season numbering over IMDb.
https://thetvdb.com/index.php?tab=series&id=273181&lid=7
It's very to-the-point.
Wiki pages have a lot of crap included and short synopsis, which is good if you like to read, and wish to know the production code for the episode. (that's actually useful for crap syndicated shows that get butchered out of sequence, but usually if shows get shot to hell for airing dates, specific wikias are more appropriate)
IMDb is convoluted to navigate.
tvdb, click, read, copy, paste.
For American Dad!, there's an eternal battle over the current season being either 12 or 13.
I go with 13.
12 is old news.

Shame. The opening titles are just stereo.
I highly doubt it's quadraphonic.
It's just stereo copy/pasted into the surrounding channels.

The end credits have sfx in it.
Mostly related to the pictures on-screen during the visual credits.
One of those cheap things in horror movies where sound editors must include library sfx of whatever is on-screen.
Like when the main character walks by a stuffed cougar, they throw in a generic couger roar. For no reason.
It's very fluent from the visual to the textual credits.
It will have to be an-all-or-nothing release.
The only difference of this from the complete score is this is 24bit with surround sound. Some actual surround sound details.
And 48kHz.
Won't include the music box that preceeds the end credits because it fades from the right-channel and pans its way into the center channel.
There's only a few strong instances where the LFE has any life at all.

The trailer for the latest Purge film. I hated the first film, but friends dragged me kicking and screaming to the second which, I must admit, was a definite improvement. Didn't hurt that Frank Grillo was doing his take, and a damn good one, on the Punisher and that the film addressed some of my problems with the first film. Now the series is delving even further into the politics behind the Purge and Grillo is back again.

I completely disagree. Friend and I went to see the first one opening night, we loved it. Better than we were expecting.
Cut to a year later and Anarchy is released (the day that Ukrainian 747 was downed by Russia, I remember). We felt it was "eh" and was ONLY made because of the success of the first. It didn't have any surprise to it, no twists, nothing exciting went down. We were disappointed.
Cut to last week when I see the trailer for Election Year is released, which is the first time I'm even hearing about a third film. I watched it, then texted the friend. She's down, even though we didn't like Anarchy. It's become a tradition, now. Hopefully third time's the charm.

They still look like just instagram films of elite killers killing the weak who can't purge.
Elite, seasonal killers who are good at it wear masks. They have gangs. Traditions.
And you just see them and their victims who are always weaklings. Businessmen, innocent people trying to get home, etc.
You never see gangs against gangs.
The black panther party going against the rich in the second one is not "gang against gang".
A lot of the movie looks like it's made just for the trailers so people can screencap it and post it all over social networks and photo sharing sites.

Interesting description. "Charm" is not a word I would have ever used to describe Cabin Fever but to each his own. I understand the new film is a shot-for-shot remake so my question is "why?" It's not a film that demands a remake or seems to have a large fan base. And Eli Roth supported the remake.

I'm malicious, mean and scary
My sneer could curdle dairy
And violence-wise, my hands are not the cleanest
But despite my evil look
And my temper, and my hook
I've always yearned to be a concert pianist
Can'tcha see me on the stage performin' Mozart?
Tickling the ivories 'til they gleam?
Yep, I'd rather be called deadly
For my killer show-tune medley
Thank you!
'Cause way down deep inside
I've got a dream
[Thug Chorus:]
He's got a dream!
He's got a dream!
[Hook Hand Thug:]
See, I ain't as cruel and vicious as I seem!
Though I do like breaking femurs
You can count me with the dreamers
Like everybody else
I've got a dream!
[Big Nose Thug:]
I've got scars and lumps and bruises
Plus something here that oozes
And let's not even mention my complexion
But despite my extra toes
And my goiter, and my nose
I really want to make a love connection
Can't you see me with a special little lady
Rowin' in a rowboat down the stream?
Though I'm one disgusting blighter
I'm a lover, not a fighter --
'Cause way down deep inside
I've got a dream
I've got a dream!
[Thug Chorus:]
He's got a dream!
[Big Nose Thug:]
I've got a dream!
[Thug Chorus:]
He's got a dream!
[Big Nose Thug:]
And I know one day romance will reign supreme!
Though my face leaves people screaming
There's a child behind it, dreaming --
Like everybody else
I've got a dream
[Thug Chorus:]
Tor would like to quit and be a florist
Gunther does interior design
Ulf is into mime
Attila's cupcakes are sublime
Bruiser knits
Killer sews
Fang does little puppet shows
[Hook Hand Thug:]
And Vladimir collects ceramic unicorns!
[Flynn:]
I have dreams, like you -- no, really!
Just much less touchy-feely
They mainly happen somewhere
warm and sunny
On an island that I own
Tanned and rested and alone
Surrounded by enormous piles of money
[Rapunzel:]
I've got a dream!
[Thug Chorus:]
She's got a dream!
[Rapunzel:]
I've got a dream!
[Thug Chorus:]
She's got a dream!
[Rapunzel:]
I just want to see the floating
lanterns gleam!
[Thug Chorus:]
Yeahh!
[Rapunzel:]
And with every passing hour
I'm so glad I left my tower --
Like all you lovely folks
I've got a dream!
[Thug Chorus:]
She's got a dream!
He's got a dream!
They've got a dream!
We've got a dream!
So our diff 'rences ain't
really that extreme!
We're one big team...!
Call us brutal --

All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in

Now I'm here suddenly I see
Standing here it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be
[Mandy Moore]
And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you
[Zachary Levi]
All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in a blur
All that time never truly seeing
Things, the way they were
Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now she's here suddenly I know
If she's here it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go
[Both]
And at last I see the light

And it's like the fog has lifted

Plus whatever problem you had before consumption will be waiting for you when you wake up. Which could be in jail. One room mate totaled - the only thing that survived other than himself was the radio - his brand new car - literally three days off the showroom floor - after celebrating - you guessed it, the purchase of his new car - and spend almost a week in jail because he decided to indulge over a long holiday weekend.
And had a DUI charge on his driving record.

I'll leave the Magical Mental Mystical Mystery Tours to other psycho-nauts. Anytime I hear someone extoll the virtues of drugs I think on my step brother who whilst extremely high tried to take off his socks.
It took him twenty minutes.
The socks won.

Last night I was having a dream about Rhonda Rousey posting videos of herself giving fallatio to an unknown male onto her Snapchat story (the camera perspective was from the guy's view) and five seconds before my alarm went off a baseball bat flew into the view and startled woke me up and as I was sitting up due to being shocked I heard "honey, where are my paaaaaaants?" as I was still half asleep in that brief moment.

I like the score to TCOTBP a lot, it has a lot of the base themes for all of the movies and has some of the most stand out music. I feel the same with DMC, I love 'The Kraken", not to mention a lot of other themes from that movie.
I'm not familiar with AWE, I need to listen to that score, I'm more than familiar with the official release of OST, because that album is less than a half our of music from the movie, thank god there are recording sessions for that one.
This is one of my favorite cues from TCOTBP, it's too short though! :p

Apparently after Silvestri was fired, Zimmer was asked to score the film, but couldn't due to contractual obligations. He doled out all the cues to his RCP cronies and they did all the work, based on the themes Hans struggled to put out. Moonlight Serenade in particular was hellish, going through dozens of versions, and Hans hated the way it fell apart in the end because he was just too tired to keep working.
All this had to be done more or less in secrecy, by the way, because Hans was contractually obligated not to do any other work while he was assigned to The Last Samurai. From the first note being composed to being mixed in the end for the sound editors, it was a mere three-week process.
In the end Badelt got the credit for the film. He left RCP a few years later, probably because he didn't like the shitty way RCP does a lot of their scores.

Yep. That's one they need to remaster or just reorchestrate from scratch just to fix all the horrible clipping and "loudness".
That's a perfect example that blows "loud=better" notions out of the water.

The commercial artist I have that takes up the most space, is The Beatles.
More than half of my collection is either movie soundtracks, or video game soundtracks, which I think I have more of than movie soundtracks.

Okay, spread over 7 externals...
49.7 +3.54 GB +127 GB +181 GB +15.0 GB +26.3 GB +141 GB +0.99 GB + 1.12 TB (1,235,122,864,128 bytes) = 1779.65 GB (1.78TB)
Biggest folder is the 1.12TB collection. Which includes the most trailer music I have. The other folders barely have any trailer music in it.
There's also production music in there, too.
Game rips included. Commercial stuff (although probably only 100GB worth).
Varied formats: lossless, lossy.
No idea what the total run time is.
Some of it is archived as they are game rips with thousands of files.
It would take too long to extract it all and line it up in Foobar, copy the runtimes and repeat for each external and sum up the grand runtime total.
Let's just a year's worth of playback.
I've also got some music saved in AAC that's been run through PaulStretch. :p so tack that on to the time, too.
That's not including the 100-200GB worth of audio prepped for end credits and isolated scores.

If we include the stuff I don't have in iTunes..
Drive A ("RED") = 960GB of Audio
Drive B ("BLACK") = 878GB of Audio
Spread across Lossless Flac level 8 and AAC Lossy formats. If I were to convert my iTunes to Flac level 8 it would be about 600GB
Total size in Flac Level 8 + Highest quality AAC is 960+878+600=2,438GB
I use the two externals for unsorted archival purposes. Excluding all dupes from iTunes,
total unique song count is..
Songs on RED - 48,909
Songs on BLACK - 40,329
Songs in iTunes - 27,408
