It wasn't cancelled. They were saying the 3rd season would be the last, and it was.

Also, I feel like the following wouldn't been said by Neal Baer had it been cancelled: "I’m very happy with this ending. I feel very satisfied. We made it so there could be another [season]… but it wasn’t necessary."

I heard it was cancelled also. Having not seen it, I can't say myself whether or not it was any good. I was thinking of watching it several weeks back. Is it worth getting into? Is there a satisfactory ending where the dome is explained (no spoilers)?

I actually haven't finished it yet. I'm at the beginning of the 3rd season. I don't know, from what I read, it doesn't seem like it was cancelled. It just looked like they wanted to do 3 seasons.

I'm sure the term "cancelled" in this situation would fall under the case of the network cancelling the series when the makers had further plans for the series. They didn't, so... :p

I might give it a go then. Would you recommend it? Also, I've seen things saying it's horror - is it technically horror? I didn't think it was.

I was also thinking about starting Revolution, as that sounded like a cool concept, but apparently that was cancelled after S2. Still might give it a go.

To date, I don't think we've had a proper thread for that.
I remember there was one verison uploaded, some tracks were missing and then everything got jumbled up and lost in random posts because OP didn't maintain OP.

It's really confusing to try figure that one out.

We need an "ultimate" thread to end all other versions out there. Like the Interstellar thread. :awsm:

season 3 of The Office.

Now that Ed Helms is part of it, the show is really picking up.

Seasons 1 & 2 are nice. Homey. Cosey.

But season 3 starts off huge. They really found their pace now.

10x better than The Hangover trilogy.
The trilogy is only great when you get to the end of part 3 and see how things turn out. It's 3 entirely different movies. It hardly constitutes as a trilogy.

Zoolander 2 was an oddball sequel.

I don't remember the first one well enough to think they're using the same formula as genre-parody movies.
A lot of Z2 seems like it should be in the sequel to Meet The Spartans.

Once Will Ferrell got on-screen, it picked up its pace and felt like a Zoolander movie.

Watching a music video someone made a few years back for the 4Kids incarnation of the TMNT (my favorite TV series). It was originally uploaded in '09, and chancing upon it and seeing what great work normal people could do with editing software is what inspired me to get so involved with audio/video editing.

Last week thanks to years of opiate abuse the dentist had to pull eight of my stepbrother's teeth.

I wasn't alluding to you, ManRay. I was venting. I had spoken to my stepbrother and the news of his dental health shocked me. Such a smart guy. I remember him before he started doing drugs: guy had a mind like a steel trap, would review his class notes the night before a test, get an "A", and healthy as an ox.

Started with pot, that got old fast and he started looking for higher highs.

Now, he's a physical wreck and his memory is shot to hell. His life has become a bad "don't do drugs" commercial.

The only drug I would ever do is pot. Nothing beyond that level.

I couldn't enjoy pot if I wanted to.

I don't bother to learn how to roll it myself or maintain a kit for a pipe or anything.
And I don't know anyone to buy from or go halvsies with.

But, the time I used to smoke with people, they were such slow downers.
It was way too much of nothing for them since they were 'chronic' (ab)users.
Seriously, they needed more and more with each pay cheque.

I had my fun, though. Being not-chronic with it.

And going casual isn't for most people. I knew a lot that 'wanted' it a lot but had to increase their intake just to feel anything.

Until one of my friends go into one of them pill/tablet drugs to lose weight.
She was always so insecure about herself and had different ways of showing it.
She would applaud Melissa McCarthy and Rebel Wilson today, not because of their talent, simply because of their size and being in a movie.
We didn't have either one back then. This was before McCarthy did other things after Gilmore Girls.
My friend would force everyone to idolize and jerk off to people like Queen Latifah and others around then. Not Rosanne, though. She wasn't that sick.
But sick enough. In the head.
She would constantly ask us trick questions without giving us any room to think about anything.
She made it seem like an ultimatum.

Once she started taking the drugs and losing weight, I heard the usual catcalling from her hetero friends. The way they'd talk filthy about her behind her back.
That made me sick.
She did not care at all. She became insanely shallow. Still smoked pot and popped pills.

I have not heard from her today, at all.
I heard about her. Just a job she likes. Which was hard for her because when I knew her, all she wanted to do was be a pot dealer.
And I doubt she watched an epsiode of Weeds. It wasn't her style. Breaking Bad would be. But we never had that back then.

My other friends on pot, only one of them ever stayed on pot because he also had alcohol, a life, a career and a family. He made his priorities quite clear. He even started smoking less pot.

Me? Well, I tried more than pot. Some bad shit happened.
Now I don't even drink.

The moral, kids?
Drugs don't pay. A steady job in a healthy environment does! Well, the pay cheques do.

Also avoid fucked up skanks.
My older brother was into all sorts. Never really knew. He would shut himself down when asked about anything and tell us he doesn't want to talk about it.
He went to rehab, he's out and living on his own. Got a nice job, paying bills.
But he lives in a skanky territory known for sluts and (not really) gold diggers.
Because that area, the only rich people living there are drug dealers. There's rich Hindu families, but they have their own neighborhoods where no skanks be living to throw loud ass parties at night.
He's got a "friend that's a girl" that he wants to be his girlfriend, but he ain't asking her out. He's spending money and expecting sex in return out of the goodness of her own heart. He is byfar NOT rich or anywhere getting out of debt. The only thing she'll be gold digging is just under $200.
There will never be a house, a car or a boat she can take selfies in.

But, I digress. He's always had a bad taste in whores.
At least he paid me back what's owed.

oh, watching Edge of Tomorrow in 3D (chromadepth glasses) and interpolated to 48fps.

Since the beach scene has a lot of microscopic details (sand, wide shots of moving robot parts, exlosions, etc), there's significant artefacting in the interpolating process. I have to tweak a few things before you can ignore the artefacting.

The only drug I would ever do is pot. Nothing beyond that level.

Likewise. I've had plenty of opportunities, but always passed. Inhaling anything other than oxygen or helium into my lungs completely grosses me out. One day I'll get high via brownies.

I've thought about LSD. If I were ever to do something completely bat-shit crazay, that would take the cake.

And something about the artist distorting the image of how we're meant to see him.
I hate when artists do that, it's like and night and day with their skin and sent wrong messages when I was a kid.
I always thought the artist tried to make a black version of a cartoon and then changed his mind later.
Like recasting, reshooting and using different takes.

Don't do drugs because things look fucked up. Don't do them because look who does them. Would you want to be seen dead in a facebook photo with a dork with that haircut? That is super neat and very fresh. Like he gets it cut and permed every week.

The message and art probably seems outdated to our modern eyes, but at the time it was quite daring. Stan Lee took a big chance on that issue. The Comics Authority refused to give the issue its stamp of approval. (The CA was an unfortunate result of the comics hysteria of the 1950's when some sociologists blamed every teenage problem on comic books.) Lee went ahead and published the issue without the stamp - something no one had done before - and the issue was hugely popular and a best seller.

So Lee took a stand, made some money and broke the back of the CA.

Hi, was wondering if someone could explain. Music I've bought from Google Play shows a cutoff in spek of around 16-20kHz. Bart's music has a sharp cutoff at 16kHz, without fail. Is this normal or because, as Lockdown put it, the mp3s are shit? I'm thinking it's the latter, because one album doesn't open at all in spek.

And that is why it's my preferred lossy format.
It's a shame my FiiO X1 doesn't work with gapless on m4a.
I'll just wait for that Rockbox port that will come out in a few years...

Eh... from a torrent that I'm hoping would work again, from either The Pirate Bay, or KickassTorrents.

If you want it, say in lossless, I'll find it again, considering it was only a week or two ago that I got it.
Or, if you wouldn't mind MP3 320kbps that I converted from FLAC with dBpoweramp.

I've been calling them stupid for years.
Because...

Either way it's upconverted to 320.

There's only a small list of users you should trust, who won't transcode lossy to lossy just for the sake of getting more praise from leechers.

the Doom 2016 soundtrack has hidden pentagrams and "666" in the spectrogram for one of the tracks.

"Cyberdemon".

I think the game files themselves, as the one who found it has imported the music at 48kHz, which is not CD standards.

:S I started organiziing my externals again and now I can't remember which one had the complete gamerip. ~3GB waiting to be heard.

I got The Witcher stuff.
AFAIK, the AAC posted in one of the major threads should be the same as what Lockdown posted. But I grabbed that too just in cases. Thanks Lockdown.

I've listend to Witcher on random while playing WoW and organizing.
It's quite fun. A lot of folksy vibes to it. Really the kind of stuff I've been looking for in music.

I just have to go back into the VGM section and doublecheck I've grabbed most of the Witcher content. New DLC out.

Given the music style is 80's synth and the cover features a lot of classic monsters in 3D, my guess is that it's paying an homage to a lot of monster cinema in 3D.
Home releases were largely the very old anaglyph style with red and (actual) blue.
Nowawadays, anaglyph is updated to cyan instead of blue.

Creature from the Black Lagoon was a 3D movie when it first came out. Although, wiki says it was released using polarized 3D (like what we have today in theaters; and now home 3D).

The font for the title is very B-Movie style.

Which makes it a perfect candidate for a SNES video game cover. If that was a video game.
Zombies are classic monsters for video games. Neighborhood environments are also classic video game setups.

It looks to pay homage to both movies and games that are nostalgic.

Good music though. Listening to it on bandcamp.

Aaaaaaaaaaahyeah. I remember those now!

Used to look at a lot of the covers and gameplay in "GamePro Magazine".
That was my way of looking things up when there was no internet.
It was fun to pretend what it sounds like, how it plays, controls, etc.

Never actually got to play and when I did get the rom to emulate it, I completely forgot as I went straight to Super Mario RPG, LoZ: A Link to the Past, etc.

As soon as I ventured away from this tab, ZAMN came to mind immediately.

Added them to my following list on Bandcamp. And wishlisted it.
Will probably buy it soon. The digital deluxe is pretty cheap.

Decided to watch Spider-Man 2 in Spanish.
It's interesting that it was the 2.1 version, not the theatrical.
It's not common for a different version to have a dub.
I know the Donner cut of Superman only has 2 languages.

About the dub: it was very competent, but not quite natural.
Granted, it might be because I'm not used to the dub.
But I feel there might be something off about it.
I wonder if it's the same as the theatrical.
It did, for most part, fix a problem with the first,
Where the grunts and screams remained from the original.
They actually decided to dub those, save for one bit.
Lord knows how funny it was to hear Maguire in the 1st,
Whimpering when his Spanish voice sounds very different.

Spider-Man 2 will forever remain my favorite Marvel movie.
It has something the others don't: someone I can relate to.
Peter Parker does remind me a lot of myself.
I've gone through many issues that make me feel trash.
This movie represented that exceptionally well.
Also, Doc Ock is most certainly the best villain.
He was a realistic character as well.
I understood the conflict he goes through.
No other movie has done that for me, to be honest.

When I was 6 or 7 the latest Batman was either Batman Returns or one of the Schmacher films. I don't remember, I've wiped them from memory (the latter two). Batman Begins is a great film. The trilogy as a whole is great. Rises wraps it all up and brings it to an epic conclusion. I was 5 when Begins was released.
I was quite scared to watch it,
Since the TV spots made it horror esque.
We were late by 1 minute when we got there.
Though most in the the family didn't care,
I was very mesmerized by what I was watching.
It was something I never saw before.
Whilst the kids fell asleep, I was in awe.
For being my earliest remembered theater watch,
It is something I will FOREVER cherish.

I had a similar experience for when Rises came out.
I was 12 years old, having just finished 7th grade.
Though I wanted to see it, the Colorado shooting shocked.
Still, I accepted my brother's invitation to see it.
I put on my Iron Man shirt because I wasn't thinking.
Gave the cashier my school ID for discount.
Went into the auditorium very nervous.
As soon as the first scene started, I was back in 2005.
It was an even more interesting experience because,
Unlike before, I was having actual thoughts watching it.
I cared for everything that was happening.
It wasn't just things happening on screen anymore.
It also a sad watch because I knew it was the last.
8 years to be apart of such an epic saga
It was another experience to stay in my brain.

It's weird that Dark Knight didn't leave much impact.
I already had decent bootleg the day it came out,
Since there was a bootleg vendor that used to live with us.
When we finally went to see it, we were an hour late.
I left me frustraed, as I told my aunt we should have gone to a later show.
I had nothing to think of the watching experience.

I'll binge the trilogy proper, now that I'm in the summer.
It'll be all worth revisiting.

The only Batman films I've seen the whole of are Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. For Begins[I], ss I said, I was a little too young to enjoy it to the fullest extent.

Shamefully, I haven't seen Tim Burton's [I]Batman, not as shamefully, the same case for Batman Returns. And I've seen a little of Batman Forever, and Batman and Robin.

Question.

Why "Always" Late to the Cinema?.... :s :p

The theater we went to for Begins was pretty far. I'm surprised we even managed to only miss that little of the film.

Dark Knight was because my aunt was so insistent we could make it by eight, since she didn't want to get home late I guess, even though that's exactly what happened when we watched Spider-Man 3. Unfortunately, time had already passed and, and quite unusually for me, there was a line of people waiting to go see the film. It was quite the sight. Oh well, at least we got to see the Bat Pod on the big screen. My aunt sure likes to talk about that.

Rises was the only time we weren't late. It made it all the more refreshing, especially when we watched it the day, when it's usually at night.

Unrelated was when we watched Amazing Spider-Man 2. I was quite insistent to watch the film that Sunday, even though I had to go to school the next day. The only feasible time we had left was at 9. Considering we were at someone else's house near that time, we had to go home quick and basically just throw water on myself. We went and missed only a minute again. It was a bad idea, because I was left traumatized the next day. What joy.

Because it's easier for me to write and get my point across better. He certainly does it better, but doesn't mean I try.

But he's not going off on some random tangent like sparktank does.

I will never forget seeing The Dark Knight on opening night. July 18th, 2008. The line wrapped around maybe 3 or 4 times and they let us in the theatre like an hour and a half before showtime. My parents, their freinds from church, my brother, a friend of ours and myself. 10 of us. I remember being floored by what I had just seen. I saw it 4 additional times after that. It was the first time I'd seen a film in IMAX. The 5th was on July 19th, 2012 - BB and TDK leading up to the midnight release of TDKR.

My Uncle can never see a good movie in the theatre just once. Twice, at least. I know he saw Crystal Skull 4 times.

Crystal Skull I saw twice. Midnight opening show with a friend I've known since 5th grade (she's an Indiana Jones fangirl), and then hours later that night with my brother lol.

Killgrave may go into cardiac arrest when he sees that I saw Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen 6 (that's SIX) times in theatres. One of those 6 times was IMAX. After that comes Transformers and The Dark Knight both tied at 5, GRINDHOUSE was 4 times, and then I think 3 times or less for the same film is normal.

For me it's a Toss-up between Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill Vol. 1

Big, big Harvey Keitel Fan, have to give Mr. White the Prize.

Of Tarantino's films, I've seen: Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Volume 2, and Inglorious Bastards.

Pulp Fiction has been a while for me, since 2010 or 2011 (possibly early 2011), the Kill Bill movies I've seen the most, they're absolutely fantastic.
Inglorious Bastards I happened to see when I was sick, so that almost doesn't count. :p

I've watched the first 20 minutes or so of Reservoir Dogs at least twice. Still have not actually seen the whole of it.

What is the case a lot of the time, I will have seen certain parts of his films more than the whole film. I've seen parts of Pulp Fiction more than I've seen the movie.

THAT'S who he is! I looked him up, I knew I saw him in something, then I remembered, he played the pastor in From Dusk till Dawn! :p

Kind of reminded me of Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon in the Christopher Nolan Batman films.

I think Pulp Fiction is overrated.

Good Movie, Robert Rodriguez, Machete was nice, Desperado too.

For me Oldman's best Role will forever be Norman Stansfield in Leon the Professional...
