I have a question about Final Fantasy I. The PSX version (Origins) got this (https://vgmdb.net/album/19) soundtrack. However, the GBA and subsequent PSP release added 5 tracks for the extra dungeons.

I'm not aware of this, but just to be sure: Did these bonus tracks by any chance get an official release in any soundtrack?

These are my own rips. The Conker's Bad Fur Day Soundtrack came back with one track not found with AccurateRip, but the rest had a confidence of 1 (i.e. only one other ripper to compare against). I tested the track on 4 drives getting the same checksum in all cases, so it's possible that the other guy's disc was different/faulty, or mine might have a pressing issue or something. The track sounds fine to me so I'm not too worried either way but thought folks would like to know.
Still alive. Pretty impressive. Lost them from my collection, so getting them back. Thanks.

I've checked it, Trypetide, I was request a lot of other albums, but since I was checking the front page, I found many of them and they didn't make to this list. But yeah, it turns out thar I already had that Konami album, but I thought it was other since mine had "Summer" in the end, not "NATSU", haha. And that thread is gold, thanks for poiting it out :)

It exists in two variants: one album CD, and one "Mook" (Music Book) CD.

The only differences with the 14 tracks both possess are:
- 2 different bonus tracks
- Some Bonus Data (Illustrations & co) for the Mook version.

Well, you're more or less right apparently:

Though at first glance, it appears to be perhaps an arranged CD, the unfortunate news is that it is not. Most of the tracks are lifted directly from the OST, with the exact same synth, instrumentation and track time. There are a few 'Limited' versions of the songs, which are slightly enhanced or lengthened versions, or are medleys of two or more tracks..

The xenogears torrent will speed up over the next couple days, may seem very slow right now due to starter bottleneck.
Its an interesting watch. You basically have a 3 hour montage of cutscenes accompanying the OST. The remasters are decent but the 4 new tracks are pretty great. Its similar to the style of vocal tracks featured in Xenoblade 2 (btw I have that OST pre-ordered, the collectors CD edition as well, apparently now out of print)

If you don't mind, you should set the "Posts per page" setting to default, otherwise there will be problems.

No, I haven't snatched it, otherwise I wouldn't have asked you to upload it.

For Rule of Rose, Leon Scott Kennedy who actually owns it, said that for both Amazon and iTunes the original soundtrack were lossy.
There is still this one soundtrack in FLAC but it contains only 6 songs from the game.
But I can't seem to find a working link now, and the one I got in the first place, was the one that Leon Scott Kennedy shared on "2shared" years ago..
Maybe try to contact him if he is willing to share it with you.

I have the Red Alert 2 soundtrack in FLAC as well as the tracks that were on the Command & Conquer collection. But does anyone have the missing tracks (Tension, Militant Force #2, and Credits) ripped from the game to a lossless format? And something similar as a rip to a lossless format for the Command & Conquer: Generals + Zero Hour soundtrack? All that were ever available were lossy .mp3 releases which don't even seem to be available anymore.

In case anyone is wondering, I don't think I'll be creating a similar lossless extended edition for Breath of the Wild as the other games when the soundtrack for BotW is available. It's official release seems to have plenty of discs and the tracks might be long enough as is.

If the file was taken from this post (Thread 64743) originally, there is a mention of a password 'ffshrine' in that post. I have not checked this out for myself, but it seems logical.

Heh, yeah a number of us in that thread have been nitpicking back and forth over various bits of phrasing and what counts as localizing versus literal translations before the database error occurred. So it's just a matter of an admin or something saying, "OK, this is the tracklist we're going with" and posting it. It should be very soon after the site returns.

That's a recording of the music on it. They manually recorded it and uploaded it. So it's not exactly original. What I mean by can't be ripped is the files copied from the Play Button, and then uploaded.

Lol I honestly don’t think anyone is really worried about the playbutton. Doubt it’s anything more than 128kbps mp3s on there anyway even if they could somehow be extracted and all these tracks exist on several other releases


Props on ripping the correct ISRC codes from the discs too, you da best. Oftentimes people will rip discs with this setting turned off in EAC, or some drives can’t read the codes correctly (jumbled up) or can’t read them at all

Well thankfully I have my EAC setup to do all that stuff automatically for me. I just put in the Title, Year, Genre, Artists Names, and Track Listing. lol

The sound quality on the new set is actually worse than on the Sound Selection CD packed in with the Master Edition of the game. That one already had some mastering issues that you’d hope would be improved in a set obviously aimed at collectors and enthusiasts, but it seems they went in the opposite direction instead. Things are somewhat more compressed and clipped, when comparing what are otherwise identical tracks between the two. On the plus side there seems to be less dithering noise, but on the downside the new set doesn’t even make use of the full frequency response of 16/44.1 audio, indicating either heavy filtering or perhaps even lossy encoded source material? Which is much more audibly grating and intrusive on the experience. How do you manage to not have these problems on the free CD and then introduce them on the big deluxe set?



What I do like is that these discs are very full. The “hurr durr is there 1 piano note per disc botw had no music” crowd will note that there is barely a couple of minutes of free space on any of the 5 discs, assuming a maximum 80min runtime. I’m glad it’s availble in any form especiallly in this very complete set, but I have a serious personal issue with the quality of the presentation of the full soundtracks to what were two franchise redefining games. This one wasn’t nearly as gross as what they did to Odyssey, but there’s no reason that these audio issues should be the trend in producing these sets. This isn’t a house record, nobody is going to be bumping “Breath of The Wild Main Theme” in the club. Leave some dynamics in your discs and show some fucking respect for your own work, Nintendo.
