Seriously though, I get Squall's point, but it could've been conducted a little better. Stating that you wanted to test people beforehand, or making it aware a week after would've been nice. Odds are there's some poor soul who's downloaded the thing and thinks it's legit who doesn't call out about offsets and such. Yeah yeah we get it, we should be happy to get whatever we get, you say that in every single thread you're in. So what if the album theyre looking for only got uploaded in 320mp3? They can either take it or leave it, and a polite asking of a possible flac rip is certainly no big deal (this actually goes both ways, many a time do things get uploaded in FLAC and leechers request MP3, I usually say to convert it yourself. Uploading takes forever compared to downloading and converting, depending on your dl speed anyway, but there isn't much sense maintaining multiple quality level links when only the 1 is necessary to satisfy all requests).

But the point is not to get people's hopes up only for it to be a disappointment. Most of my requests have been met, but I certainly remember how awesome it was to come in here and Surprise! it's that 1 album youve been looking for, actually THE album you've been looking for, in lossless. Kinda disappointing that it turns out to be a 192MP3 transcode, y'know? To me the whole offsets thing isnt a huge deal, obviously I'd prefer it to be accurate, but if it's off then that's no skin off my back. Now I suppose if caching was used, well, kinda beats the purpose of the secure part of the rip. In some cases anyway. Though since some finds don't have logs, you wouldn't really know it anyway.

Now could someone address about the factory offsets. Would an image rip bypass that since it reads the whole audio stream on the disc (I think?)?

Wasn't there that discussion some time ago about how it's not just your drive offset, each disc itself has an offset created by the manufacturing.....thingy? Honestly speaking, every uploader and downloader does, at least partially, deserve a bit of trolling. Not really having much respect for composers, musicians, labels and manufacturers.... So, why should there be respect for "you"? It all leads back to this "demand", this "self-entitlement" that some show. Be thankful that stunts like the one I've pulled off don't happen often, here at the Shrine. And here's a heartfelt suggestion to a few ones, especially eleriaqueen and that errorism guy: if you happen to get trolled like this, show some maturity and shrug it off, don't get too mad... After all you're no saint, either, and you solve the issue simply by deleting such crap from your storage device of choice.

Though it claims everything is 48kHz, inspecting the frequency content, it appears to be 44.1 upsampled (not uncommon to happen on DVDs). Inspecting the fade-outs and how low the volume gets before reaching nothing, it does seem that it is real 24 bit, so you can take some comfort in that I guess. And although it's advertised as being 5.1 surround and reads as 6 channels, this is actually 4.1 -- that is, there is a front left and right, rear left and right, and a subwoofer channel, but the center channel has nothing in it. I picked this up off a Japanese torrent originally in APE format as disc images with CUEs in Japanese (no logs, unfortunately). I converted it to FLAC because that's what was requested (still images, not single tracks) and filled in all the titles and artists in English/Romaji in the CUEs. I retained the original CUEs too though, out of respect or something, Just know that if you want to use them, the one for the third disc doesn't work because there are quotation marks in track 23's title which apparently breaks the rules. Plus I added and organized scans.

There seems to be some corrupted tracks in the mirrored link for Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater. Track 13 of disc 1 and tracks 15 and 16 of disc 2 won't extract. I've tried repairing them but no luck. If it were possible i would take an upload of just those tracks. Thank you in return :).

3 good alternatives, if you ask me

1. Use a different browser. (I use Chrome most of the time, I only got chashes in Youtube, when I use constantly in that site)
2. Install an add-on.
3. Use a downloader manager. (I use Jdownloader since a long time a go and works well with MEGA)

But no one want to try to find another way to deal with MEGA.

On the mega topic i have no problem downloading thanks to JDownloader I've used for many years, however i won't upload to them unless theres a good way of getting good upload speeds without using chrome, currently my upload speed goes at a craw with Opera and IE.

About Chrome, I used to use Firefox but when I was told Chrome syncs your bookmarks and plugins by account. Meaning you don't have to install any of that BS ever again. I was like "bye bye firefox". Woah one guy from Hydrogenaudio was fast in replying, turns out I have a very slightly different pressing (offset by 3) than the one which was in AR and CTDB


Edit : I ripped an album today, the album is "Baroque in the Future" from the band "DejaVu" (a band lead by Motoi Sakuraba) it dates back to 1988 and it sounds really great.
It's of course a reprint under a french Progressive label.
It's not VGM but it's from a VGM composer so if someone's interested I'll upload it.

I picked this up off a Japanese torrent originally in APE format as disc images with CUEs in Japanese (no logs, unfortunately). I converted it to FLAC because that's what was requested (still images, not single tracks) and filled in all the titles and artists in English/Romaji in the CUEs. I retained the original CUEs too though, out of respect or something, Just know that if you want to use them, the one for the third disc doesn't work because there are quotation marks in track 23's title which apparently breaks the rules. Plus I added and organized scans.

No, you are not. This isn't the first time this has happened either. I had still have trouble with disc 2 of "Ys VI -The Ark of Napishtim- ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK" and disc 4 of "Trusty Bell ~Chopin no Yume~ Original Score" which were shared in the last topic. No one, not even the original sharers, ever responded to my enquiries. I figure it's just a problem with corrupt or incorrect CUE files but it's quite unpleasant.

WHY DON'T YOU POST THE CUE HERE, MAYBE A LITTLE MODIFY WILL DO THE TRICK.
USUALLY THE PROBLEM IS THE SOURCE FILE NAME MENTIONED IN CUE DOES NOT MATCH.

Edit: There's nothing apparently wrong with the .cue file for disc 4 of KICA-1445~8, so what I've done is copy its contents and paste them into the box when embedding a cue sheet in foobar2000, which seems to have solved the problem. I will now look into the problem regarding the latter.

Edit2: I found the error for disc 2 of YS6OST-1~2; track 06 had quotation marks in its title which interfered with things.

They type like this in comics, in documents like L/C or B/L, they even type like this in FF12, and reason is neither they are angry nor bad keyboard.
Anyway my bad.
Guess just get lazy or something back then.

Oh god yes I'm very interested in this. Been searching for Gikyokuonsou for ages now. Can I request that? I'd be quite interested in the Deja Vu album as well, because anything by Sakuraba is amazing.

On another note, does anyone have the Resonance of Fate / End of Eternity Soundtrack in FLAC? Been looking everywhere for that but all I could ever find is an MP3 V0 version. It gets the job done, but it's too glorious not to have in lossless. ;_;

Anyway they apparently automatically ban of the accuraterip database if using a virtual drive (can't submit results anymore and all previous submits are erased) but in my case I didn't use accuraterip to rip, i just ripped with EAC WITHOUT USING ACCURATERIP (so nothing was submitted) and verified afterwards against the accuraterip database with foobar if the rip was accurate, and it is perfecly fine.

Fleas. I underestimated the damage they could do and I underestimated how hard it is to get rid of them. Gave coco a bath and he had a heart attack but I stuipidly didn't even realize at the time. The flease took out too much oxygen from his blood and Coco is a special breed that could get sick very easily. I thought he would get better but I was totally wrong. He passed away in my arms overnight though so I don't think he was in too much pain. So yea there's some guilt that I shouldve done things differently. I really underestimated them and I shouldve taken him to the vet it wasn't about the money I am just skeptical about doctors but yea I was wrong. But I know he forgives me and he was the sweetest cat ever, I have two other older female cats and he would always try to forcefully hug them lol (even after he was neutered) and even though they would hit him he would never hiss or growl, I have never heared him hiss or growl in the 2 years I knew him since picking him up from the shelter and he would snuggle me every single night. I am glad to have known him and I hope I can see him again one day. Thanks for asking.

I don't think there's an official OST for that game. It doesn't look like a lossless release exists for the game-rip, but it may be easier to download the .iso file and rip the music that way.

Isually it's owned by the company. They Hire the Composer to make songs for them. Artists to make artwork for them.

I think they may get it back after a while, like the DOOM Soundtrack for N64 and PS1 got released this January on Bandicamp by the original artist

Rare's soundtrack might sound different or be vgm but the theme is still the same so obviously Rare doesn't own the rights to the bond theme song. And yes the James Bond movie company will probably never let the goldeneye 64 album get released because they probably don't even care enough to get involved because the profits would be next to nothing I assume. Grant could probably ask the James Bond company if he could release the music for free they might let him if he asks because its for non profit.

Nah... Because some OST's are incomplete because they're CRC fault, bad host doint bitching or lack of tracks. And always is good to point that. Its not an usual event but sometimes happen.

That part i dont understand at all... What are you meaning by those words? And who are the people that only upload?? And if a user with 1-2 messages want ton contribute why he/she couldnt do it via the normal way?? Or im missleading something?

Just search in the thread the magical words you're looking for. I was interesed in Tokimeki Memorial and oh, searching option and luckily found here.

I thought the point of the Index was to find stuff without having to wade through the discussion? I like the discussion, this is the only thread I really read, and it's the only place where you'll actually get a reply on the technical stuff, any thread in the music discussion forum is long forgotten. Perhaps the Index should have a "recently added" section upon updating? then you couldnt really complain about having to sift through the discussion either. (though you probably wont see something just uploaded as quickly....or before the links go out, given how they sometimes dont even last a day)

[url]And yes the James Bond movie company will probably never let the goldeneye 64 album get released because they probably don't even care enough to get involved because the profits would be next to nothing I assume.Exactly, it's not about pride, it's just money; the cost of working through all the rights would be significant and the payoff minuscule. The rights to Goldeneye the N64 game must be pretty convoluted - Activision own the rights to James Bond videogames (or they did until very recently), Microsoft own Rare who made the game, and obviously it came out on a Nintendo platform. I wouldn't want to be the guy who had to unpick that mess.
