Hi! Not sure if is to late for a request, but I'm very interested in this one.
Had it and lost it a few years ago when my hdd died, and it's one of the albums I'm struggling the most to recover.
Thanks in advance!

15 minutes in google and I recovered it. The answer isn't as obvious as simply googling though - required a bit of thinking out of the box.

Will upload later today.

Wow! I don't know how to thank you!
Last time I checked, the only stuff I could find were old Emule and Usenet links, and all off them already dead.
Waiting for it more than happy. And again, Thank You very much!

I think it's mostly the case of brightness being at 0, since the icon itself is grey, thus it shouldn't affect anyone colorblind.

Hey, guys!
Is there a thread for Anime movies/Japanese movies lossless soundtracks?
It would be great to download full scores from masters like Joe Hisaishi, Kenji Kawai, Susumu Hirasawa, and others. Just imagine such a wonderful thread like that here on FFshrine.
Actually i don't know where to look for these things. Good sources are, many times, in strange(to me, at least) languages.

Since this never got an actual CD release, but Turbo Duo/PC Engine Duo games are redbook and have audio tracks, I ripped it from an ISO image
of the US version of the game. I left the original ISO's cue file in the .7z file. That means this includes the english voices from scenes in the game for the second half of the disc.

Composed by Yuzo Koshiro. PC-Engine Soundtrack arranged by Ryo Yonemitsu.

Sample tracks:
This one never actually made it into Ys I & II remakes.

Tried to clear your cache (DNS one included)? I don't have problems reaching MEGA, but it seems its layout/design changed a bit, perhaps that has something to do with your inability to reach the website.

Now I moved to a new apart (with bad connection), I only get 225 kb/s on download speed, before that, I was with 1,7 mb/s ( 1700 kb/s).
(this is why I don't upload anything right now, cause my upload speed is near to 15 kb/s :( )

But still, MEGA is faster, the loading page is quicker and smoother than before.

I don't know if this is going to be helpful to someone, but I've just finished my 4th test... and MEGA's behaviour had been the same in each of them. The website in question, which some of the members here on the Shrine define "the best thing evah!", actually likes to store 2. Identical. Copies. Of the same file. Yeah, I mean when the download is finished. Needless to say, that's idiocy at its finest.

I'm using Windows and Mozilla Firefox. First, enable the option which allows you to see hidden directories. Download a file:

Go into C:\Users\*Youraccount*\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\:

Next, Firefox\Profiles\*Gibberish*.default\indexedDB\:

In there you'll notice a folder called "https+++mega.co.nz":

Take a look at the folder-size and check the one of your downloaded file:

As you've guessed, the aforementioned location is where MEGA may keep the extra copy. Simply delete that whole folder. You may notice that mega.co.nz behaves a bit... weird, after doing so, but don't worry, you only need to close the window and refresh the website, to get everything back to normal.

I understand that with HDDs getting better and better, this may not be a big issue to some, but in my opinion it's just dumb to let this happen.

Yes, we know that, it have been already discussed some pages ago on this thread (don't remember what page exactly, and I'm a bit lazy to search xD ), but thank you for your inspection.

For now, I use the "clean everything" function of Chrome, since I use Chrome only for downloading on MEGA. (I'm a firefox fan.....)

Just something to add, for those who use Windows XP or older version, replace:

Just checked that location on my computer myself, and there was no folder from MEGA. Looks like the "Forget about this site" trick I use to make MEGA work with my Firefox automatically deleted the folder. I'm also using CCleaner, so any "temporary" files are deleted anyways.
Nice to know anyway, thanks for the info!

And finally, this particular CD is interesting. More so than usual.

For one thing, disc 1 is music, and is a collection of a bunch of classic tracks, however...

Disc 2 is a CD-ROM containing MIDI files and music sheets. Yes, there is actual sheet music on this CD.

DO WANT SHEET MUSIC!

Any MEGA extension you were using it.. remove it.. then sign into your account .. click on Menu > Apps > (Browser) App. and Reinstall the new one.

Also to anyone thats wants links to any VGM that I have, you must subscribe. I am no longer giving individual links. Reason being is that with the subscription, you can't get the direct links to the files, so they can't be reported. You can however still download the files, and reupload them else where if you choose to.

Well i use Seamonkey, the extension i was using was iMega made by someone, not mega but seems the newest version updated recently doesnt list Seamonkey when previous versions did. Guess i'm out of luck heh. Thanks anyway.

Edit: Turns out removing the iMega extension then reinstalling fixed it. Not sure why lol, either way no more temp folder being made by Mega. :p

Updated my signature. I removed the request field, and replace it with latest upload instead to help those that are subscribed to see what was last added. I also updated the information about my vgmdb collection, that I am no longer taking single album requests for things in my collection.. so if you want something from my collection (pd folder still off limits). You will have to become a subscriber (there is no cost). I still however do take requests for albums I do not have. Just keep in mind I am not a miracle worker lol... and I do not guarantee that I can find what you need.

I also update the folder list for Subscribers to show now 2 folders starting out. You will see VGM, and now Anime (That's right you guessed it, I added my Anime from my VGMdb collection as well).

(Zodiac, if you're reading this, can you put the link to the Falcom Special Box 2004 in the 'Ark of Napishtim' and 'Xanadu' subsections to make it easier for people to find those two soundtracks?)

A very, very noticeable gap in my uploads. I didn't think it was worth uploading at one point but it kinda is - since the one Oath in Felghana rip I keep seeing around was ReplayGained and then split.
I went ahead and uploaded the rip from the regular suspects. It's funny - this comes with one of the worst Super Arrange CDs Falcom's ever done, so one of the best Falcom soundtracks in their entire history is bundled with one of the most disappointing 'arrangements' on disc 3.

Anyway, if you haven't played Oath in Felghana yet, get out of this thread and go buy it on Steam or something. And even then, the OST is incredible, if for some reason you never play it.

If you played the original 3, OiF will melt your face off in general. If you didn't, it still will do it.

These are my own rips. The Conker's Bad Fur Day Soundtrack came back with one track not found with AccurateRip, but the rest had a confidence of 1 (i.e. only one other ripper to compare against). I tested the track on 4 drives getting the same checksum in all cases, so it's possible that the other guy's disc was different/faulty, or mine might have a pressing issue or something. The track sounds fine to me so I'm not too worried either way but thought folks would like to know.

EDIT:removed my quote of said topic to prevent problems for the original uploader.

Could someone do a test on this to see if it's true lossless?
I'm getting 20.3khz on this, which i believe is a sign of a 320k mp3 encode.

Also does anyone know if it's normal for a album that is mid 90's or older to fall between 22khz flac and 20.3khz mp3 quality through spectrum analysis?
seems every album from that era i've checked comes back somewhere in between the 2.

Sorry for asking, but i'm new to analyzing lossless, so i'd rather those with more experience check to be sure.

Actually, yes, they can fall in between the two. By the way, 20.3khz doesn't mean it's mp3 quality, necessarily. A sharp cutoff is usually the best indicator of something not actually being lossless, but if where it stops at 20.3/21/whatever is actually smooth and not like it was actually cut off, it's probably not. I'll look at my copy of that CD.

edit: One also has to take into account the type of music that's being played. Piano CDs tend to look a lot different, as do most instrumental CDs, from the normal ones we have in here.

Since this cutoff is smooth, if this spectrum matches yours...

Dear MEGA user,

(Please be aware that if you are sharing a folder that contained your file, anyone that you have given ‘full’ access to is able to not only download but delete any files in the folder. When sharing a folder please ensure you select the correct permissions; the three options are read-only, read/write (files can be viewed and added, but not deleted), and full (files can be added and deleted).)

The reason you might be receiving the message: "Account Issue, Please check your email" or "file is no longer accessible" is that your account was targeted by multiple 'Take down' notices which has triggered our repeat infringer policy.

Each time a 'Take Down' is performed you get notified in your email inbox of such action (due to a suspected copyright infringement breach). Please check your spam and junk mail folders.

Please see our Terms of Service - Infringement Notices - https://mega.co.nz/#terms

If you are certain that the situation above doesn't apply and the file in question is legal and does not infringe copyright or any other proprietary rights, you should try uploading the file again from your local backup. edit: One also has to take into account the type of music that's being played. Piano CDs tend to look a lot different, as do most instrumental CDs, from the normal ones we have in here.

Exactly ! Some type of music show a very different spectrum, it depend on how the audio was captured (orchestral) or how "deeper" was the composition.

Strangely, most of the orchestral music I own (dragon quest, shiina ringo etc...) have a lower spectrum that some techno sound (wipeout hd, xgra etc...).

It's important to say: it depend of the original frequency of the composition too.

Well I need to know if everyone can't download anything from my folders. I can download stuff just fine, but I can't test for everyone else.

Got word from a friend.. its just Firefox having the problem. Chrome still works (but not 100% sure for everyone).

Then again it might just be the extension required to download ? .. who knows..

Hmm i see, i suppose i have alot to learn (that's what i get for googling info on how to detect lossless), my apologies to the original uploader of the album as well as all other members here.

If this helps,

Keep in mind this isn't always definitive. I know of a number of tracks that look lossy but are actually lossless. Probably, they were mastered poorly or recorded poorly.
Ex. The Flac file in question: and then the Mp3 from Google Play (320 CBR):
I have no idea why this 1 song on the album has this kind of cutoff, but it does. So in this case, Flac isn't really so much having the highest quality, as much as preserving what quality is remaining :/

Hmm, i had a extension that stopped Mega storing two copies but since my browser updated, it no longer seems to work. Now i've got to manually clean this up myself. :/

Edit: OMG, my "https+++mega.co.nz" folder was 1.36Gb in size. 0_0

Yeah, mine just ate up the last (free) 10GB on my boot drive with all the downloading I've been doing the last 2 days.
This is why I STRONGLY dislike browser-baised downloaders and other junk.
I like using normals links to normal file sharing so that I can download files normally using the same protocols that the internet has been using for the last 20 years!
Good thing I have a disk/directory usage app that showed me what was hogging up all my space!

Keep in mind this isn't always definitive. I know of a number of tracks that look lossy but are actually lossless. Probably, they were mastered poorly or recorded poorly. :/

This is very VERY true. I've seen it happen in normal music too, not just VGM. Sometimes it is just out of our control.
The one instance of lazy mastering/recording that always comes to mind is the Killer Instinct Gold Cuts Soundtrack. I thought I just had very poor quality MP3s of the CD until I got the lossless and realized that, no, it really sounds like that. Like they just plopped in the N64 cart, hit record, and pressed it to CD - that's all. The music sounded a lot more stereo when I was playing the game on my N64, but I guess that was just the nostalgia goggles.
Same goes for the Blazing Star and Pulstar soundtracks. Again, sounds like they recorded them right off the Neo with no remastering at all. There is like no frequencies above 10KHz that I didn't even bother converting it to -V0 or -V2 MP3 because -V5 (~130kbps with a 16.5KHz lowpass) sounded exactly the same, no musical info lost.
As for one or two tracks that seem out of place when viewing an album with spectrum analysis, I've had it happen on a couple real store-bought CDs right in front of my after I ripped them. I swear some CDs these days might be mastered using lossy recordings and tools...

For me, this is so:
Internet connection - modem - router - LAN to my laptop
- Wi-Fi to my 3DS.

Should I turn off my wifi during the upload?
Most of the time I have the problem with files that are greater than 1 GB.

I think I know what I'm doing.
I'm no longer pack the complete album and upload.
But just create a folder with the name of the soundtrack.
The corresponding folder of disc 1, disc 2, etc. Pack and upload.
Are big anyway, only on the soundtrack the around 1 GB or greater.

Good?

No matter who has internet.. it will always be like..

ISP - Internet connection - modem - router - PC network card ..

The problem no doubt where it lies is between the ISP to Modem (before it even hits your router). Meaning your ISP had a bad connection briefly. I get it sometimes playing online games.. just 1 or 2 seconds.. is enough to break the connection.

I believe the problem lies in Winrar 5.0 being used, archives created with it is not compatible with older versions of Winrar.

Why cant I unzip RAR5?
Files compressed with the algorithm RAR5 are still very new and, can only be opened by WinRAR 5.

Well it's not exactly the same thing, because rar / zip created with 7zip are compatible with other programs, only .7z is specific. While with Rar5.0 it's the same format except they removed some compression models (wtf) breaking compatibility, almost every compression enthusiast at encode.ru say this "new Rar 5.0" format is bullshit.

I'm looking for a rare track from FM-TOWNS game, but I don't know which title.

The track is Over the Cinematic View (by Not Cassiopea) probably published by Ving.

I have this track in a low mp3 quality, if someone have the game/cd, please share this track in flac.

I have import from Japan this somewhat rare album (http://vgmdb.net/album/10549) to listen it and share it, once and for all without paying an insane price. This album was bundled with the Black Hole Assault [Limited Edition Gold Box] (http://www.play-asia.com/black-hole-assault-limited-edition-gold-box-paOS-13-49-en-70-293j.html) for Sega Mega-CD, only in Japan (neither in Europe nor America).
Unbelievable finding! I think no one had ever ripped this before. Thanks.

I think is a matter of convenience although this days almost everything plays M4A, a couple of years ago, that conversion would have been very welcomed, today is pretty pointless. It's not like I can't download the M4A and convert them myself but there's always the lazy one who doesn't want to do that and asks for the MP3.

Surprise #2 coming in an hour and a half.
With you and CBGS, the surprises never stop, thanks.

BTW, I think the MEGA problems in the last page are caused because the files don't get decrypted. With MEGA, the browser or program downloads an encrypted file, when it finishes, it needs enough disk space to create the decrypted file. JDownloader deletes the encrypted files but as some people have posted, it seems Firefox is not handling this very well lately.

(Zodiac, if you're reading this, can you throw out the old Falcom Field Zanmai in the OP?)

I've decided that this has gone on long enough. It's here! Highly recommended, a really chill CD of Falcom-themed 'field' tunes. I love this one, so I was really disappointed in the bad transcode that spread across the internet as a 'wav' rip. In fact, the very one in this thread is a bad transcode, with a 15/16khz cutoff.

It actually came out as a prerelease at C84, but the "rip" people were providing of that was a shitty transcode of youtube-quality tracks. It got a retail release, though, so I went ahead and bought it.

Well, at least the art drew you in. Falcom Sound Team jdk, when it comes to videogame music, is one of the best in the history of the business so it's good that one of their CDs was eyecatching enough to get you to download it. It might even lead you to download some of the other 60gb worth of Falcom music I've uploaded for this thread.

"Fami-Compi" .. what game is that for? .. VGMdb didn't have a game title..
It seems is an original work to open and close the remix CD. Still, I have one question about this one, is it official, as in, endorsed by the game makers? (Commercial and doujin classifications at VGMdb are bogus for various reasons so they tell me nothing.)

By the way, thanks Logi for the Field Zanmai. Sometimes, when you want things done right, you have to do them yourself, it was awful to discover the other rip was a transcode.

Fami-Compi seems to be a remix Cd for a lot of older games. It has a track from Gradius, Castlevania Simons Quest, One of the Ganbare Goemon games, Ghosts n Goblins, and several japanese only games. I'm kind of liking it so far.

I sent everyone a PM that is currently subscribed.. on an alternate method I am willing to test with people to see if it at least lets them download.

Just an FYI .. I will be repetitively PMing those every 72 hours that haven't not responded to my initial PM to see if they would like to keep their subscription. So far 4 people have responded.

Hi Vegeta,

Did not receive a PM from you as well unfortunately.

Log of the secure audio extraction (dBpoweramp 14.4) from the physical disc, excluded both data tracks, the first audio track (warning audio track) and the latest audio track (digital silence)

If this was from a physical disc of yours.. and since dBpoweramp is a windows application (or maybe linux too i forget).. Why not just have ripped it with EAC ? It's more accurate, and reliable. dBpoweramp to my knowledge is better off being a converter.

Also just an FYI.. Pokmon X & Y Super Music Collection .. is on what cd in Lossless format.. but its improperly ripped.. so I bet in the next 24 hrs.. if not sooner.. someone will trump it with a proper rip.. when that happens I'll have it up for subscribers. Sorry I just hate providing rips that aren't even proper.

The file is in ".7Z" from mega,
I can't take the music out of the 7z file, it show that "Unsupported compression method".
Is that my file is broken or will need some special software to open it?

What does triple balanced even mean?

It means that doesn't use standard drivers (the usual "cones") Instead uses balanced armature drivers, which is another... kind of efficient way to generate sound. They vastly differ from the cone form and instead use very small "plates" to generate sound. For this case, triple armature means that it has 3, one for low freq response (bass), another for middle range and a last one that acts as twitter. This has several advantages, one of them is that they are very small and you can put them on an earphone, another, is that each one of the frequencies goes to their corresponding driver, hence not muffling the other instruments (it's like having a two or three way speaker setup).

Edit: This translates into a wider soundstage of the music, it's noticeable albeit not that much.

I kind of like the slogan also. Note that this player has student discount on the sony store shop. Which is why I got it. It's a healthy upgrade from my also very great NWZ-S545:

Which was given to a friend that I know It will take care of it. Also, no camera.. no problem:

It's the same camera that I posted a while back, it works better on this player than in my phone.

Not really. You just need to ask before, most of uploader are ok, but others have their reason too.

For me it's simple, all my upload are suited for multi-mirror, you can share them where you want and how you want, without need to post the credit.

That camera picture's quality is amazing. I'd probably just take pictures of my wiener with it and post it on 14 and under chatrooms.

And add bokeh effects to it no problem :D, I have it because it has an API that you can use to program it, allowing you to get pictures from it using your own coded program. It's considered the best point and shoot camera out there, but this version has no flash since it's the small brother of the RX100 Mark II.

The real deal right now are these : XBA-H3 | In-ear performance | Features | XBAH3.CE7 | XBAH3 | Sony (http://www.sony.co.uk/product/hps-in-ear-performance/xba-h3) which gets the best of the two worlds, using the cone driver for the bass and armature balanced drivers for medium and high range. The reason because I went XBA30 is because of it's non v shaped sound (neutral), which still has a nice bass to it but doesn't overemphasize any particular frequency.

subwoofer seems rather pointless for ear buds...

Many people like it :D, however, you will require a nice amplifier to drive it, my XBA30 lost all the bass with my previous walkman, it simply wasn't able to drive it...

I for one have no interest in buying this soundtrack, I really don't find this game appealing (Same re-used graphics from Mario Galaxy and engine too) and gameplay-wise it looks just meh. I have good memories of Mario games, on N64, SNes... etc ...But Nintendo is milking this cow dry !

On another note, aside from what I call PM-Sharers (like Vegeta) that probably already had problems at some point for having uploaded and shared stuff, I don't see why some users would want something not to be re-upped ! Didn't we have a discussion not too long ago about what uploaders ask that is unreasonable ?

3 things you can do:

1 - Make a "Chrono Meridian Soundtrack Thread", where anybody can download what you have. (easier than a VGMDB list)
2 - You can post soundtrack that are not already posted in this thread or soundtrack with missing link.
3 - About soundtrack that are already there, you can post a "mirror post", that mean is it's your own version, and here only for those who can't download from the first link.

1 - That's kind of doing things backwards, since it would take people looking for a specific OST a while because they'll have to check every single "My OSTs" thread if the album in question contains common words :(
2 - That's always appreciated :D
3 - Same, very much appreciated but since MEGA, not THAT useful anymore I guess ? (Except if one's a bad rip of course)

1 - True, but if I'm saying this it's because Chrono Meridian can have a tons of Soundtrack and it can be very hard to browse a page with 50+ OST + discussion from other user.
For better organization, is better to make a thread with 50, 100 or more OST available in one page, and make a link to this page in this thread. With that, lot of people will know where to get their OST, without need to browse the whole Lossless Thread.

Off course he can choose to share 5 or 10 OST everyday in this thread too, everything depend on how many OST he have.

2 - Yes :)

3 - Yes, I think making mirror is always a good idea, mediafire, mega, sendpace, googledoc, skydrive etc....
And yes, some rip can be done again, with better ripping quality and/or booklet/Bonus included.

This is a rerip due to some tracks on the previous rip having the beginning of the next track, so basically if not listening to in order you get some intros to next tracks that suddenly cut off. Not sure why this happened, but this new rip does not have this issue. (might of been my previous drive which later died on me) I have checked the other Mechwarrior 2 Rips and they are a ok, seems this was the only one affected, strange indeed.

So if anyone got my previous rip, i suggest getting this one instead. Also not sure why no one pointed it out earlier, but then again i only noticed it when playing the soundtrack on shuffle.

Hello, guys!
Could anyone please recommend a good portable player that can play FLAC(or other lossless) files?? I've been looking for such a device for like...2 years. I heard some guy saying that from all of the portable music players, the ipod is the best, but as far as i know it can't play any of the most common lossless files. According to a friend, it can play "Apple Lossess", the lossless format made by apple. But i don't know if that format is as awesome as the other ones. Thus, i'm not sure if the ipod is really worth it. I wish i knew how to compare the files and the players.
So, guys, should i buy an ipod, or some other device? Please, show me some good options. I don't know any lossless portable player.
Thanks!!

Let's wait for Vegeta to confirm.

You can do as you like.. but anyone that uploads something you got from me.. at least credit me.. not particularly for the rip (unless it was a personal rip), but just because I had uploaded it. I normally credit those for ripping it in my original posts anyway.

Thanks!!

Apple lossless is still lossless, the same as any other lossless format. It doesn't compress as well as Flac though.

The Cowon D2 and D2+ are the greatest portable music players ever made IMO. I've had one for like five years now and it works like it's new. It takes SD cards so you can expand the memory as long as you have a big enough card or more cards, uses a folder system instead of a dumbass proprietary software system like iTunes so you can drag and drop the music right in there. It has a really powerful internal amp, it can play FLACs, and it's only like 120 fucking dollars to buy one. It can pick up the radio, it can record through a tiny internal mic on the top so I've filled up the memory card by taking it to lectures when I was in college, and the battery lasts an absurdly long time without recharging (playing FLACs consumes battery life a little faster though).

I took this years ago, back when I had modded the GUI myself, but yeah. It's a beautiful, cheap, powerful little player that outclasses an iPod from any generation in every way. It still hasn't been topped, either.

Oh look, it's the final surprise for a while. I just had to make the Sorcerian collection more complete.

For anyone who's familiar with Falcom's music, Sorcerian is as basic as Ys: hardcore melodies, awesome arrangements, and LOTS of character. As with the Ys Renewal albums, Sorcerian Forever takes the original melodies and arranges them with a slightly more futuristic sound, which tend to be VERY "synthy," not that it's necessarily a bad thing.

Sorcerian Forever I and II. These were a bitch to get a hold of, actually, but since the discs themselves were legit AND pristine and I didn't spend too much picking them up, I think it's worth it. Even though that first case is battered, the disc is spotless.

Anyway, without further ado. The two CDs containing tracks for the Sorcerian remake on PC, Sorcerian Forever. I personally recommend the second CD far over the first one, even though both are great.

ipods and in general any apple like hardware lack a bit on the sound department. There are many better alternatives to it if you a re looking for sound quality, one of them is exactly as logi74 as pointed out, the Cowon series, particularly the D2 is known to be one of the favourites of many people. It has a characteristic sound signature, which many describe as artificial (this is due the way they handle data and process it apparently) never the less is crisp and clear. Another alternative are the Sony walkmans, particularly the Z series (Z1000) or the just recently arrived F886 series (NOT the F806). They are known to be best in class and don't have artificial sound, however you loss SD expandability (although being android, you can use an special OTG cable with them and can connect an SD Card). There is also the iBasso dx50, which is literally only a portable player, but this has an integrated amplifier that can drive very huge headphones.

Note that with this kind of devices... you need to use proper headphones. Right now I can only think on the balanced armature ones like the sony XBA10,20,30,40 or the hybrid ones, however looking around for example on head-fi.org should give you an idea of what some headphones can do.

Thanks for Pokemon, Vegeta!

On the topic of Pokemon (kind of), I'm getting a Nintendo 3DS XL, along with Pokemon Y for my birthday. Any suggestions on other games I should get? I was thinking of games like: Super Mario 3D Land, the new Mario Party game that comes out next week, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Zelda Ocarina of Time (which I never played before, believe it or not), Kid Icarus and a few others.

3D World looks awesome, that's for sure. Unfortunately I have no plans to get a Wii U. 360 does what I need for the time being, and I'll be getting a PS4 in 6 months or so, when the game library gets better. I need some sort of portable gaming device though and for now I've decided on the 3DS. The Vita's more powerful, obviously, but I hate the games.

Look at either the Cowon players (D2, J3, pretty much any of them as they all support FLAC) or the iBasso DX50 (a trimmed down version of the audiophile DX100, the DX50 is about 90% of the performance for about a quarter of the cost of the DX100).

I don't recommend iPods because the newer ones are harder to get Rockbox on and you'd have to convert all your FLAC's to ALAC's, plus I personally think Cowons and especially the DX50 sound better than a regular iPod (regular iPod EQ's are terrible).

I just got ahold of wav files that were ripped from the physical promo CD of the Arcanum soundtrack. Sadly, when comparing the spectrum of these files to the 128 kbps mp3 files I had from before, I can say that they are both identical. So this promo CD is just a bunch of mp3 files burned as audio. Because of this it would appear that there is no lossless source for this music to be found. :(

Well since the 3ds can also play DS games, your options are pretty large.

I would suggest Mario and Luigi Dream Team, Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies, Shin Megami Tensei IV,

and Virtues Last Reward(Though I recommend getting it's DS prequel 999 as well and playing that first to get more out of the game. It isn't required, just more fun.).

Thank you, mate!! I'm searching for this device right now. If this is the best Music Player in you opnion, then i guess that's my final choice. I was thinking about buying a Philips, but now i changed my mind. I find interesting how many of the awesome brands are not that popular.
Is the volume of the "Cowon D2" loud enough? I thought that the day i'd find a perfect player, it would cost A LOT, now i'm happy to know that it does not cost much.

I'd say both are good, but the internal DAC on the DX50 trumps the Cowons pretty handily (it has much more low end, which makes heavier music sound better...if you listen to a lot of techno or rock/metal, DX50 is the way to go). For the lesser price though, the performance of the Cowons is more than acceptable (and again, far greater than an iPod) and is slightly preferred for orchestral stuff and female vocals. I think Cowon mostly supports FLAC, DX50 can do APE or FLAC, possibly ALAC.
