Does anyone have WM-0570 | SUPER HANG-ON 20th Anniversary Collection - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/5233)?

I posted these in another thread: The entire lossless Sonic GBA soundtrack excluding Sonic Genesis.

NOT my rip.
Files were originally in japanese, translated them, leaving the japanese cue in the upload, but also adding a english m3u and CUE file for those who need it, not sure how well made they are though.

Thanks for letting me know! It seems I started the upload while it was still being compressed, or the compression stopped midway because I just recompressed it and it's 400 MB (compared to 150). I fixed the link in the original post. Here it is for convenience. :)

I used Winaero and Chris, and got 4.1 on both

Also I oddly want one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gramovox-Bluetooth-Gramophone

Tried Ratchet & Clank and DiRT2, very choppy. Lego Indy 2 plays just fine though, so hit & miss results for ppsspp.

Hmm possibly, I'll try again.

EDIT: It was a faulty download earlier. Tried again and everything's fine now. Thanks!

EDIT 2: Actually, while I'm at it, you wouldn't happen to have a good rip of the Simon Wai Sonic 2 Beta music would you? It's ridiculous how hard it is to find a good one for that music.

Can I ask something related to the topic of lossless files?
Is there an actual software that anyone can recommend to scan FLAC files to check if they're 100% lossless, like Lossless Audio Checker (or if anyone has the full PRO version, can someone PM me a link)? I can't seem to find any software like that ever since the "Bay" went down.

It's more of a pain, but any program that has a spectrographic analyzer (adobe audition ideally, but i think eac's will work. Spek doesn't zoom, but will give you a good idea for most cases) where you can zoom in will give you a decent idea if you know what to look for The "blocks" are probably the best indicator since depending on the track, the frequencies won't go up to 20K+ (think piano). Of course, poor mastering, or if the track makes use of a lot of filters, acoustic guitar, etc. You may still have blocks even if it is from a lossless source.

Shameless self-promotion here, but I responded to a similar question over a year ago. Here was my response to the question at the time, it might be of use to you:

There are two programs that does exactly what zaykho is describing, "auCDtect" and "audiochecker". The two programs operate very similarly despite "auCDtect" being a CL tool, but there's a frontend for "auCDtect" that works with foobar2000 called "fooCDtect" that can be accessed through foobar2000's "convert" command once fooCDtect/auCDtect is properly integrated with foobar2000. "audiochecker" is a standalone program that works on its own. If you try both programs, you'll see that the logs that are produced are quite similar initially. So, one would ask "what is the difference?" and from what I remember, the difference is that auCDtect is newer and uses (I'm not 100% sure about this) a more accurate algorithm to analyze the audio data. I personally use auCDtect for it has an option to produce logs with verbose information on the audio data that's analyzed but that doesn't necessarily mean that "audiochecker" doesn't have that option, but I wouldn't know because my experience with "audiochecker" was limited to a handful number of times using it before I replaced it with auCDtect.

So if you're still reading this, I would say to give both programs a try and if you're interested in the exact details of the verbose info that auCDtect produces in its logs post-analysis, here's the command string I use for "auCDtect" (through "fooCDtect"):

--0 --lfor 3 --lenc 2 --output %d

Btw, the accuracy of both programs has been put into question for people have been able to get a 100% CDDA result from mp3 V0 files so take that into consideration when using the programs and reading the results. In the end, the only sure fire way to check these audio files is to read the frequency spectrum of the audio through programs such as Adobe Audtion, Audacity, Spek, etc. Of course, this also means that you have know how to read/understand the frequency and know the specifications and limitations of lossy codecs vs lossless (uncompressed) audio data/codecs.

In conclusion, both programs I detailed in this post are easy to find, if there are other similar programs that you guys feel are better and (more importantly) more accurate, feel free to share and inform us all.

How "smart" are these applications, do they try and find quantization artefacts or some similar trick, or do they merely check for the presence of audio above a certain frequency?

Good question there, I've been using fooCDtect exclusively for a few years now so I can't really speak to how "smart" audiochecker is. With regard to how "smart" fooCDtect/auCDtect is....I can't speak to its capabilities with any real authority but what I can to do to at least give you an idea of auCDtect's detection capabilites is to show you the verbose logs it produces for my music collection so you can see what they look like and what kind of info it contains.

You mentioned older VGM soundtracks so the first logs I'll post here is the oldest soundtrack releases I have in my collection:

Bare Knuckle (1991):
https://mega.co.nz/#!tAJATLRJ!b2pfBT8VqW-fUuwMinIIJj011FpXPINLLwDr1DxytH0

Final Fantasy IV Original Sound Version (1991):
https://mega.co.nz/#!BZIllaxY!hulxV9XTRaqAaAc0hWOA0NRZOttJdoYGKj1-0ov2Xxw

for comparison these are the logs for the newest releases in my collection:

Final Fantasy V Original Soundtrack Remaster Version (2013):
https://mega.co.nz/#!pFJQACBY!q22KapSW1gedzCiorLGqXJetsN3jkGiTqybf2oS TQPE

Final Fantasy VI Original Soundtrack Remaster Version (2013):
https://mega.co.nz/#!lEIkQQIC!M98iOzdv2F8qD5yyeHFEwkEe2mJ_dAPiuVO6pjs aOek

Btw, all of the logs posted here are from soundtrack releases I obtained from this very thread and its predecessor. So I encourage all of those using foobar2000 to try fooCDtect with the settings I prescribed earlier and see what kind of results the program gives you. The logs I provided should give you an idea of what auCDtect/fooCDtect is about, but these logs aren't the "end all be all" with regard to discussing the program's detection capabilities. If someone knows of a better or more informative alternate program, please share it with us because I'm sure that's something everyone here would want to know about.

Also, Vegeta, I'm in charge of compiling the flac version of the filerip of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. in another thread. There are tracks on the disc that are not present in the sound test at the moment, like a fancy medley of Mario Paint. I'm tagging everything right now, will probably be done at the end of the week. Maybe you'll want to check both versions. 532 songs total, it's huge! XD

Cheers! :D

So wait.. there is 2 people working on it?

Yes, one is a filerip from the game disc dumped files (16bit PCM 48 000 hz) to flac. The other is a very well done recording through digital audio with the console output at the recording rate of 24 bits 48 000 hz.

Trying to download as I type but it's come to a stop at just 47 MB into the first disc. Maybe try a different upload site, if possible?

Twilight One
12-16-2014, 09:57 AM
Well, Sonic, I am in charge of tagging / curating the flac set of the filerip version, so I guess you could say I'm not the best judge. XD

But just understand that I really respect the effort put in the production of the other gamerip.

It is a fact that the original files are 16 bit 48 khz files, and we are transcoding from them without any alteration to flac. In essence, both versions sound pretty much alike, there are waveform analysis that state both are interchangeable. The thing is the size you are willing to download. The 24bit 48 kh version is more than 20 Go.

Considering the game files themselves are 2.4 Go, it is a lot... Now since we don't have programmed loop points in flac, we essentially double our data (2 loops) + 10 seconds fadeout for all songs that loop. So right now, it's around 6Go, but I'm only at 300/532 files done... The filerip is definitely smaller in size, and only one step from original material to minimize any effect on the sound itself. It is virtually sample to sample identical to the disc.

And the filerip contains songs that are not available yet ingame, like a Mario Paint Medley, and the Tournament Mode songs among other things... And we get to have isolated songs without any trace of sound effects.

In the end you're free to take whatever you want, I'm still not done with the tagging, and it is time consuming as I put lots of effort in it to add a max of info in the tags. You can see our progress here, and my tagging conventions while lurking a bit in the recent pages:

Except the search function of this site is total crap, so common sense does not apply here.

I'm looking forward to the endproducts.
The Tagging in the MP3 Version of (I think) a Gamerip wasn't too good. Just had all names that were listed in the Sound Archiev in the game transfered to the artist tag.
Hope it ends up tagged like the SSBB Rip. Original Composer listed seperatly from the Arranger and such.

While I can't talk for others for your MP3 concerns, the reason the flac is not up from me is that it takes me a long time to add all these artists and composers, dates, original games and whatnot... All are ordered matching their roles etc...

My source files are the same as the other rip being made here (disc-dumped files), so the quality will literally be the same. It's just the tagging/artwork that will of course be different! Read the main post for more information of course :)

Just an FYI.. I will be adding Roynerer's FLAC version of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Full Soundtrack (20+ GB) to my MEGA account (when it becomes available). I will probably break it down into parts to make it easier for some people, so it will no doubt have its own folder, inside the S folder.

OK, these are all personal rips. I noticed that most of these I could find on the Shrine somewhere, but not in lossless, and I don't think I've seen Victory Goal '96 anywhere on the forum, let alone the internet. I used MEGA to upload everything this time, since it seems like an overall easier and faster experience for downloading. I'm using a MacBook Pro, and there are no good archiving utilities that I know of, so I uploaded the albums straight, with no archiving, but they are in separate folders. You should be able to choose to download the folders as zip files though, so as to avoid downloading file by file. Also, as I mentioned in my previous upload, I have no way of scanning anything, so sorry to those who want them (But, really, most of them have great scans on VGMdb already). Here we go!!!

I had to rename all files, because they didn't even have numbers on them. The tags had the track order information, but that doesn't go well for some players like Foobar. So I put them in mp3tag and did tag - filename .. now the files are named as "01 - Song Name.flac"

Well mine its a complete one, music, radio, menu/intro, fully tagged with cover and virtual artist name given by the game, and off course, truly .flac :)

(I precise that the Radio disc was really hard to do, since I didn't recorded, but extracted all song and then re-mixing them together to get the exact same "radio mode" that we get in the game)

Oh I know there is a huge list of games, none that I currently play. I do have a steam account, but I haven't used it since like 2005. Just saying I can't think of 1 game on steam that I'd like the music for.

Oh I know there is a huge list of games, none that I currently play. I do have a steam account, but I haven't used it since like 2005. Just saying I can't think of 1 game on steam that I'd like the music for.

This is a game rip of Verdict Day's DLC BGM, not an official album. You'll notice that this rip starts with Track 2, this is because the first track from the DLC is actually already on the Verdict Day soundtrack. I decided to omit this track as it is redundant. The cover is something I threw together all too hastily, family is over so I don't have too much solitude to do stuff like this.
All credit for this rip goes to the youtube user TheIceManCometh, you can find his channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXj57QDLMnY67xHnGxJoxdA

Anyone here planning on picking up the Rockman Sound Box 2 (http://vgmdb.com/album/48280) that just released this week?

Also, I know I asked this some weeks ago, but I figure I'll try again. Has anyone ripped a FLAC version of the Mario Hoops 3-on-3 OST (http://vgmdb.com/album/4247)?

Hell I never played Isaac, don't know what its about, how it plays, how it looks, or even had a steam account once... But I've seen atleast one person every week for the last 3 years mention the game. You'd have to have lived under a rock not to have heard of it... and "15th game on steam isn't popular enough" excuse isn't a good defense. As big as Steam is, any game in the Top 100 list is serious business, not some un-popular obscure indie game that only a handful of the nerdiest nerds that ever nerd only know about.

I got my copy off a Chinese board. I'll check it out when I get home.

EDIT: So it seems I can't find my headphones atm, not really surprising with so many people coming in and out of the house this time of year.
So from what I can tell just through my speakers I don't hear anything I'd call soundscratching, but just to be sure I've upped my version's disc 1 track 40. Give it a listen if you wouldn't mind and lemme know if you still catch it.

He's only got the first 4 discs hosted there, but those are all the new tracks. Discs 5 and 6 are identical discs to previous issues of the original Ruby and Sapphire soundtracks. That one should be good. I'm assuming it's a different copy than that of Chrono Meridian, and even if it was, I feel there's already been another post of the soundtrack here on the shrine.

It's not inherently "better", it just preserves whatever was there. It's not economic for video games themselves to include native-soundtrack-quality audio (except for some obvious ones like a few SEGA consoles etc.) anyway so usually nothing beats a dedicated release.

Zeratul13

most games now having sound for ogg/mp3 in files (sometimes wav or similar for console, but less quality than for cd release quality).
old games having often for midi file played for original sound chip in console.

but flac giving you exactly what there, so no further quality losing.

The others have covered it pretty well but also keep in mind that an official soundtrack can be crippled by bad mastering, clipping errors, etc. That and it's not uncommon for looped vgm to be rearranged somewhat to better suit the soundtrack medium, or for tracks to get extra flair exclusive to the OST (extra flourishes, instruments, samples, etc.), so some may prefer the game's version.

And like Zeratul said, older consoles with soundchips...the music was more of a midi file, so a gamerip of that, in a sense, could be considered lossless should an OST not be available, or be poorly mastered/recorded. Ex. people seem to consider some of the rockman/megaman soundtracks to be subpar, and would opt for a gamerip. Compare this with the Sonic 1 & 2 soundtrack which has outstanding quality, far beyond what you'd expect out of a chiptune soundtrack (Though, my experience with those is very limited, so perhaps that's actually common?).

Tokimeki Memorial disc collection ORGEL ARRANGE + diary Shiori Fujisaka

This is a collection of 14 mini-CDs with two tracks each of music box (synth) arrangements of music from the first Tokimeki Memorial game. The arrangements are by Mami Asano and the music was written by Mikio Saito ("Metal Yuhki"), Miki Higashino, and Seiya Murai. In all, it adds up to 1 hour and 33 minutes of music. Scans come from VGMdb except for ones I've added where the front or disc pictures there were too small or missing. Big props to our own mod Jessie who ripped discs 9, 10, and 11 for me to complete the collection, all while recovering from serious injury. Thanks a lot, Jessie!

FLAC (with CUE and log) (https://mega.co.nz/#!t8lmGKDZ!GfCuQ3GLqrdupP57-emNmhyub7ji9nJ6dgxMDyZa9eU) - 408 MB

Included also is the first and only installment I have of the "diarys" series that followed the completion of the orgel discs. It features seven minutes of a voice actress reciting a diary entry, in Japanese of course, with some backing music. At least some of it is from one of the Tokimeki Memorial Sound Collection MIDI arranged albums, but I didn't go through and cross check every piece of music that turns up. I know it's probably not desirable to almost anyone, but it's not significantly large and I included it to maybe get the ball rolling if anyone else has any of the diarys CDs and might post rips for those who do want them.

I realized after posting that the title and composer tags were swapped for the disc called SPECIAL Vol.2 so I fixed that and re-ripped and re-upped. It's an easy fix if you already downloaded and don't want to again.

can one of you guys confirm something for me...?

so as we all know the ffX hd remaster had a new redone soundtrack and a new soundtrack album release to go with it.
but as far as i knew X-2 didn't get the same treatment,
but here I am looking at a Final Fantasy X-2 HD remaster OST
does anyone know if it sounds any different?
or is it just a re-release of the original one to coincide with the game's release

Album: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Sounds and Battles [WIP]
Album Artist: Koji Kondo
Catalog Number: N/A
Publisher: Nintendo
Format: Digital
Codec: Free Lossless Audio Codec
Year: 1998
Genre: Game Soundtrack
Sample Size: 16-bit
Sample Rate: 44100 Hz
Channels: Stereo
Total Size: 44.70 MB
Total Length: 00:08:13
Total Tracks: 3

Tracklist:
1-01 - The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time Custom Infernal Dinosaur, King Dodongo Battle
1-02 - The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time Custom Dead Hand Battle
1-03 - The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time Custom ReDead Battle

These are merely test files to gauge the interest for things like these. I made these three tracks in Audacity by lining up all the sound effects of the game (lossless WAV quality, can be found here: Legend of Zelda sound effects by HelpTheWretched (http://noproblo.dayjo.org/ZeldaSounds/) || ALL credits for ripping goes to them) in a fashion that resembles the actual battles like you are playing the game. The added music is lossless from the 3DS version of the soundtrack and everything was exported to stereo FLAC 16/44.1 with the appropriate channels for each stream. Dodongo's rolling sound effect is not included in aforementioned sound effects list so I tweaked the standard boulder rolling sound effect to resemble that of Dodongo's. There is no clipping.

If there is enough interest I might do more and include include all the sound effects as tracks for a more complete album. Perhaps that way more people can contribute to make “lossless” boss battle tracks.

No Mp3 requests please.

Alright I completely revised my post with the Ocarina of Time battles. Was a little late yesterday. Now there are no more imperfections in the files as far as I can tell. Too many changes to name since I started from scratch (no more weird music loops, subdued sounds were amped, artwork revised).

Again if there is interest I will make more of these.

Regards.

hey everyone, im making a gamerip soundtrack for Baldur's Gate I and Baldur's Gate II Enhanced edition,
although there is very little point making a lossless encode as the games files are already lossy, i thought it would be worth asking anyway if anyone here was interested, as some of this music never was and never will be released officially

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here is my late Christmas present for FFShrine. I've been pretty busy with all things related to Xmas, so I wasn't able to post this sooner. I also didn't have time to scan the artwork for everything, but almost everything has some kind of scans at least.
There's a wide variety of music here, so I hope there's something interesting for everyone.
Now I just hope none of the links got screwed up, there are a lot of them.

This release underwent several revisions. Ensure you have the latest version. Part of my original source material was upsampled by the uploader for some reason, so I had to re-do many files. And added a recreated version of the original of the Fire Temple theme.

Be advised, obviously I cannot cater to every person's preferences. This is intended to be an extended edition. If the original release sounds satisfactory to you then by all means I do not dissuade you from listening to that at all, and this version is more than likely not for you.

I have been procrastinating to do this project for a very long time. It seemed such a daunting task to commit myself to—and I was right. This was a lot more work than I had hoped it would be, but I now that I have I am glad I took the time to do it.

This would not have been possible if it weren't for the original uploaders. Unfortunately I cannot remember whom I exactly downloaded these from as it was such a long time ago, but I take no credit for that.

This is the complete The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Sound Track {PCCG-00475} with all its tracks included, but with all the tracks extended. It was a major flaw of Nintendo to publish the complete original soundtrack while cramming it on a single CD resulting in tracks that were too short (and double the sin for repeating this *ahem-* “mistake” for the 3D version). The single-disc Japanese version was however the most complete edition, and provided the best flow. Fortunately there were other releases with slightly longer tracks, but playing those would subtract from the narrative listening experience of the original Pony Canyon version. I just wanted to have a definitive edition to listen to without having to worry about anything else, because if there is one game which deserves that it would be this one. Ergo the solution was to incorporate tracks from other releases, yet they were still a tad short so I ended up looping practically everything save for the short sound jingles.

I used the original Japanese version as a reference for the track list (and the front cover) so everything is arranged in order of appearance, and with the extended lengths I find it proves to be a more atmospheric overall listen that the game did so well to establish. Looped tracks have been used from the following four albums:

PCCG-00475 | The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Sound Track - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/293)
NTDO-17233 | THE LEGEND OF ZELDA OCARINA OF TIME 3D ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/26628)
94040 | The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/1888)
3590940 | The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time Vol. II: The Lost... - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/6374)

I primarily opted for the best sounding version to extract parts from to create a seamless playback experience (and which version I preferred in terms of sound, like preferring the original warmer-sounding “Zora's Domain” cue to the newer 3DS one). I was actually rather lucky I still had those other two European editions in my library because some songs on the original could not be looped having a fade out too early on at the end, and every song that could not be looped happened to be on those editions. The original Japanese version clocks in at just over 78 minutes for the 82 tracks it provides. My extended edition tallies just shy of three-and-a-half hours for equal the amount of tracks. This may sound like excessive, but spread out over all those tracks it is not gratuitous (at least in my opinion). If some are too long for your taste it is just a matter of cutting away the unwanted material and throwing in a simple fade out. For deciding the final lengths I kept the gameplay experience in mind for each respective cue. Consequently, songs such as the dungeon themes, general areas, and Hyrule Field overture are longer as you spend more time in there in-game (for example, the “House” theme's length is 2:45, while “Kakariko Village Orchestra Version” is 4:52). I can't imagine anyone actually being severely displeased with the final figures.

On SoundCloud by the user named "SMASH ADAMS" I found the original Fire Temple isolated chant in lossless WAV quality, which I used to recreate a genuine lossless version of the original Fire Temple theme.

The second to last track is the final orchestrated bonus track from “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Original Soundtrack”, and the final track is from “The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Special Orchestra CD”. I don't know why I appended those but I felt the urge to include them (once more thanks to the original uploaders).

Everything was accomplished with Audacity (Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)) working losslessly and without altering the music and integrity of files itself (barring obligatory fades).

No Mp3 requests please.

Awesome bro, it would be something if we actually got those. I also have found someone who has the 2 Vocal collections in lossless, but he will take some time to get the HDD that has them on it. By then we should be able to almost complete the entire set if everybody pulls through.

Thanks BoneSatyr, happy new year all, etc.

May I ask why you use such redirects, what benefit is there to the redirects against giving a plain MEGA link ?
According to some reports, anonym.to may not be safe at all https://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=anonym.to/

Well, I've seen links here go down after just a few days due to referrals being sent from this known filesharing site directly to the file host. This forum only hides direct links for people who are not logged in (unlike some forums that hide [ code ] instead), and the majority of people who download stuff seem to click on the link, and thereby giving the file host a referral from here. With anonym and similar sites the file host doesn't see where the traffic is coming from, so it's like people have input the URL themselves. I've used anonym for a long time without any issues, but it seems like it's still compromised now, several days after I first noticed it, so maybe I'll stop using it.

A new torrent takes a little bit of time to seed out its to its initial peers before it can spread its wings big time, especially from a single guy on a not that fast connection.

Dont be one of these babies begging for seeds and then fail to seed the torrent yourself after you grabbed it, I seed everything that deserves it indefinitely and frankly most people are leeches so I sometimes wonder of its a waste of energy…

Be grateful.

Deponia - The Complete Journey Original Soundtrack

CD2: Chaos Auf Deponia Original-Soundtrack - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/35947)

I used the Steam Cover for the Rip because I couldn't scan the Box (and they look really similar anyway).
The 3 CDs are identical in their content to the Soundtrack CDs of the Originals, that's why I linked it like that up there.
(Also forgot to update the FLAC Codec).

Edit: Found and Uploaded the Developer Soundtrack. They were simple files onn the Game Disc, both in english and german so I left them as they were and just uplaoded them.

Be advised, obviously I cannot cater to every person's preferences. This is intended to be an extended edition. If the original release sounds satisfactory to you then by all means I do not dissuade you from listening to that at all, and this version is more than likely not for you.

Well, here is my Extended Edition version for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It is my shared favorite Zelda game with Ocarina of Time. Such a timeless masterpiece that should never be forgotten. The soundtrack, however, I probably consider even superior. Suffice it to say this was a humongous project, far more so than I had initially anticipated. While my experience with the Ocarina of Time version expedited matters, the more dynamic nature of this album compensated greatly to slow down the entire process. Most of these tracks were not as straightforward to edit in comparison to OoT, which already took a sizable amount of time. I had to teach myself some new methods as well to accomplish the full album. I could no longer rely on other renditions from other albums, another culprit contributing to the significant increase of work per track. Still, I labored to keep the fidelity as close to perfect as possible (of course working losslessly). The Wii U HD soundtrack was of no use due to being louder than the original Japanese release. Which didn't really matter as the tracks were the same length anyhow.

I followed the same principles to make this album as the OoT version. I used the “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Original Sound Tracks” {SCDC-00250~1 (http://vgmdb.net/album/418)} as a reference for the track list as it is the most complete version and follows the narrative of the game. Just like other Zelda releases they “erred” by compiling too many songs on too few discs. If you do the math two discs is laughably scant for the total of 133 tracks, even when factoring in some of them are short sound effects. Well, I guess it is better than no official soundtrack at all: Twilight Princess and others... In light of this almost all the tracks have an extended length with only a handful of exceptions (sound jingles, etc.) proving for a more atmospheric listening experience. There is a total of five discs for this release.

A big thanks to the original uploader, without whom this would not have been possible. I take zero credit for that.

Unfortunately I could not replicate the sound of the game with a constant 100% accuracy. No matter how much I would edit a few select original files--which is a compromise in its own hence work to circumvent at all costs--there was just no salvaging them being cut too short and all. I do not recall the exact number, but I believe it were three tracks. Nonetheless I am not going to fret over it though as just repeating the song did not sound at all bad for these. I don't even think they are looped in the game anyway.

Unlike the OoT release I do not recommend cutting tracks short for this one, because as mentioned the looping process I utilized for most tracks were not as linear as they were for the Ocarina of Time Extended Edition. If you remove part of the ending on these there is a fat chance you will cut away new data. So if you happen to be discontent with the chosen lengths you are regrettably out of of luck with this one. I had to resort to looping songs in three different sections for example. It was no simple thing to do but I think I balanced it out okay. I consider this still the definitive edition I have for The Wind Waker.

The final track is from “The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Special Orchestra CD”. I just had to include this track for it is a superb orchestral rendition.

The art which I have included is all of (very) high resolution, and I believe they are in the appropriate aspect ratio so with a quality printer you should get detailed prints should you want to burn this to discs. Unless you loathe the look of my artwork, which I can fully understand (the “bare” versions are there for that). I tried to keep it consistent.

Everything was accomplished with Audacity (Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)).

I do not know if I will ever come around to making any other Extended Editions for Zelda--or any other--games. I worked very hard to get these two versions released because I do not know what my personal situation will bring soon. I do not want to promise something I cannot deliver.

No Mp3 requests please.

I hope you knew a lot of them are bootlegs (e.g. Final Fantasy VIII just to name one) and that you didn't pay more than they're worth. But I see you got the original print of SaGa Frontier II! I only have a rip of the SQEX re-print. If you wouldn't mind doing a rip of it, that would be nice. Since you're offering anyway. :)

EDIT: actually, never mind. Turns out Ramtieger did upload it at one point (Thread 136724).

Yeah, looks like most of those are bootlegs. Dead give away are the ones that have "GAME-10101010, etc." as the serial number. For future reference, ANY game or anime CDs that say EverAnime, Miya Records, etc. are definite bootlegs.

Not necessarily. I've had 3 from Miya records that were lossless sourced, and 1 that was lossy sourced

A new version for my The Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time is being worked on right now.

I figured I'd also post here since most people come back to this thread and not the dedicated ones and bring people up to speed.

I refer to this post if you want to know the details and why: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/legend-zelda-ocarina-time-ost-extended-edition-183955/#post2858144

My sincerest apologies.

The same thing would have happened with direct downloads.

With the torrent we now have 20 of 22 albums. The two missing are Asian Collection and Rustling of the Wind.

If VyseLegend uploaded the soundtracks to MEGA or whatever, he would uploaded 20 of them and then be forced to temporarily drop the remaining two until the storm is over. The exact same thing.

And I'm fairly certain that once this torrent is fully seeded, it will continue to be seeded for quite some time. It will possibly be alive and well a year from now, and how large % of direct download links that are a year old still work?

VyseLegend
01-05-2015, 04:59 PM
Actually I was wrong. The internet didnt have a problem, I mucked around with the torrent contents and thus only could seed 99.4% for a while. Fixed.

The reason I choose torrents of MEGA generally is because the data is stored client side rather than server side. I simply dont trust a 3rd party to be as reliable as myself.

If VyseLegend uploaded the soundtracks to MEGA or whatever, he would uploaded 20 of them and then be forced to temporarily drop the remaining two until the storm is over. The exact same thing.

But then, you wouldn't share it until you had it all together to share in the first place, and so people wouldn't be having to wait. Nothing to do with VyseLegend at all but as far as people's reaction, people take a dim view of the placeholder thing.

And I'm fairly certain that once this torrent is fully seeded, it will continue to be seeded for quite some time. It will possibly be alive and well a year from now, and how large % of direct download links that are a year old still work?

My links on MEGA and MediaFire have lasted for longer than that, so that's not necessarily true.

Yeah, I found that out now that a good deal of them are not the original release. How do you find out if they're lossless or lossy sourced, though? The Vagrant Story is DigiCube, to the person who asked.

Be advised, obviously I cannot cater to every person's preferences. This is intended to be an extended edition. If the original release sounds satisfactory to you then by all means I do not dissuade you from listening to that at all, and this version is more than likely not for you.

Here is my Extended Edition version for The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. While it is my least favorite Zelda game, it is still an exceptional title. But I am not here to stress my opinion about the game anyway. I must admit I wasn't half as motivated for this project as I was for the other two because of this, but I ensured this had no effect on the delivered product. On the contrary, I was able to spread out the work more taking my time with it hence the toil of work affected me less.

Credits go to the original uploaders, whose material was required to make this release.

Just as the previous albums I used the original Japenese “The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Original Soundtrack” {PICA-2006 (http://vgmdb.net/album/1678)} release as a template for the tracks, since it follows the storyline of the game faithfully and is the most complete.

This project is a culmination of the following two albums:

PICA-2006 | The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Original Soundtrack - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/1678)
3591540 | The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Original Soundtrack - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/16426)

The latter I used for the dungeon themes as the former's versions were not loopable and the Majora's battle themes (dungeon themes I made slightly less loud to better mix it with the other tracks). Practically all songs are custom looped, and I did not use any songs from my OoT Extended Edition even though some songs from the Majora's Mask game stem directly from Ocarina of Time. So yes, I did everything from scratch.

The total for this edition is over four hours for the same tracks the Japanese version boasts. I hope this too will be a definitive edition to have for the game.

The final two tracks are from “The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Orchestrations” {FMCN-1003 (http://vgmdb.net/album/1677)}.

No Mp3 requests please.

I appreciate your dedicated work, but is it just me or is VGM starting to feel meh? I gave away some of my Club Nintendo soundtrack's as I stopped listening to them completely. Or is it just me growing up?

I have never been that much of a video game soundtrack fanatic myself to be honest, so I wouldn't know. I only ever indulge myself in listening to a scarce amount of albums once in a while. I am probably missing out on a lot though.

Regards.

@Neo Chip

I'll die before I stop listening to video game music.

You may be getting tired of it, but I would never equate that with "growing up".

@arfgh

This thread is definitely not 90% Nintendo.

I have personally shared many things not even remotely related to Nintendo.

If you guys think the OOT OST is overkill you should look into Shenmue II and fans* attempts at making an OST for that game...

I agree with both of Neo_Chip and OmegaBlade, with their beautiful men in their avatars that are pleasing to the eye!~

It depends on the game and your current mindset and tastes, etc.

I didn't like the smash bros tracks at first but then they started growing on me, I'm not a fan of some remixes like let's say "Donkey Kong Rap", Captain Toad had like 12 good tracks out of 60 IMO, obviously we're all not gonna like the same games and tracks.

I believe you don't really 'grow up', you just change, your tastes, your mindset, your world, unless you want to change BY growing up then yeah sure, whatever that means.

I LOVE A Link Between Worlds, the music in that game is chilling and proves that VGM hasn't and won't get stale any time soon, unless you mean that it doesn't have that unique style the limitations of old hardware had then I agree, to a point- Ryo Nagamatsu has truly proved himself to be quite, no- An amazing composer.

Of course I also like danganronpa and lurk this thread hoping some beautiful soul will dump the soundtrack for "Another Episode", it's just taste- talk to your soul, follow what you like.
