I wouldn't convert it to flac unless absolutely necessary. For one, you bloat the file size with data that isn't there; secondly, you give the false impression that it's true lossless. Even with a disclaimer, you know there's still gonna be that one guy who doesn't read a word, downloads, and gets upset that it's not what he bargained for.

im aware of the pointlessness. i wasn't asking if i should transcode it. i wouldn't do that on principle. i was more asking if it would be ok to post it here despite having low quality audio, or if i should not bother period

I don't think you should post your gamerip on this thread for the sole fact that most of the uploads here are comprised of official releases. Just make a thread for the gamerip and those who are interested will check it out.

"Another Day in Dream Land" is an original album by Karl Brueggemann, which serves as a musical tribute to the work of Jun Ishikawa in the beloved Kirby series. This album aims to capture the unabashedly cute and fun spirit of Kirby music (particularly Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby Super Star). To add to the fun, this album was made entirely with SNES samples! Above all, this album's aim is to put a smile on your face. Enjoy!

Dear Mario is an 8-Bit love letter to the music of Koji Kondo. This passion project is an accumulation of years of playing Mario games and adoring their soundtracks. This album should function as an argument for what makes Super Mario music so wonderful. I hope you enjoy this nostalgic tribute as much as I have enjoyed studying the styles and sounds of game music's godfather, Koji Kondo.

This loving homage to the music of Super Mario World 1 & 2 for the SNES is the ultimate tribute to the genius of Koji Kondo. The first volume: "Adventures in Mushroomland" aims to honor the legacy of the original game, while taking the listener to places never heard before in a Mario game. "Hello World" is a comprehensive double album of original music by the Super Marcato Bros. It is a loving tribute to Super Mario World 1 & 2 for the SNES. The second volume: "Journey to Dino Island" is inspired by the sequel "Yoshi's Island", and aims to capture the unique musical spirit of that beloved game. These tunes balance child-like accessibility and rhythmic playfulness for an effect that is unmistakably Nintendo.

Something I had completely forgotten about, but got around to finding some of my old software. Something called z_o_o_m's File & Image Uploader. This thing can upload to 100's of different file hosts at one time. It also supports Mega.co.nz (with a registration of course which is only $3). You can upload multiple files at once to MEGA which is really nice, also multi-threading so faster uploads. Some of the options still confuse me, but this is a really nice tool to upload your content to places. Just thought if you guys never heard of it.. its a good thing to have.

What new stuff does it do?I don't know whats "new" because I never owned a Samsung, but it has some neat audio tools.
Something called adaptive sound which I thought was neat. It requires headphones, which tests your ears to check what frequencies your ears can detect, and then adjusts the output of sound to it your personal profile. There is also an option to simulate surround sound, and another option thats supposed to simulate the effect of a tube amp. I'm waiting on guides to root without tripping Know so I can install Viper4Android for some extra kick.
As far as audio goes, I havent been able to fully test it, been busy with work and testing it's gaming qualities of the new SoC.

Isn't this the same one that is constantly being updated at BakaBT?
The album list seems very similar. You should look to see if the rips of Before Meteor / FFX Remaster are downsampled. If memory serves me right, the last time I looked at the bakabt FF music collection those albums were indeed downsampled. It could serve as a soft proof that the torrent contents are in fact 1:1.
Tbh I think this collection just gets passed around a bunch. I remember seeing another huge FF music emporium on a Chinese board a while back as well. Can't imagine there are too many unique 100+GB collections floating around. But give those albums a quick look, the hi-res stuff could be indicative.

Any chance of some Command & Conquer OST's? :kirbyfly:
Everything that zYnthetic did for the OST is really good. Everything in between is crap. All those vocal tracks by various artists is just a bland generic scream-fest. It's not metal, it's not rock. It's those kind of stupefying no-rthyme no-reason screaming tracks. I will never be able to get into it, or will never figure out what kind of brain freeze mood you have to be in to enjoy those tracks. It's my kind of hell. If I go to hell, I'll be forced to listen to this shit.
Anyways zYnthetic is good. I delete everything else for my playlist. Too bad zYnthetic's stuff adds up only to 25 min of the OST.

Gah! I finally found a lossless rip! Sucks how sometimes forum search engines can be SOOO bad. I probably would've found this long ago if not for that.
Anyway. This is probably more valuable to a collector than the common folks. Most of the tracks featured are repeated on other albums. The -ADA TALK LOG- is the only genuinely unique part.
Seems weird weird to make so many obscure CD releases and then only differentiate them by the smallest degree. And when I say "weird" it feels like an effective financial decision on the company's part, but it's kind of a drag for the rest of us.
Someone was making some questionable decisions when they were putting out music.
P.S. I have a folder.jpg and a folder2.jpg in the directory there, the actual album has a sort of "folded face" to it, you can see it in the included scans, so if you wanted the top part of Jehuty to be featured as your album art, I've made it very easy to switch it out.
@ Mint: I have LACM-4008 and KCEJ-0001 in lossless, will upload them a bit later. Thanks for the -ADA TALK LOG-. I technically own the CD because it's inside the Premium Package box of the game, but I'm going to leave it in its sealed state and to sell the whole on Ebay, so having a rip of that works out just fine.
@ Mint
Oh jeez. I guess you are a ZoE fan, I think you even have a rip of WAVE's cover album floating around here somewhere.
Though I didn't necessarily intend for that little list to be interpreted as requests, if you have the time, and are willing to share, I certainly won't complain.
As always, thanks a bunch.
(btw I severely underestimated how bad Divergence could be, lol, I have no freaking clue what's going on!)

Er.... wait another 2 or 3 months:

If I had to guess, the official OST will not have the frontrunner tracks or variation tracks as well. Just the basic tracks, themes, and jingles. But I'll probably keep both a ripped version and OST version for completeness.

I have a lossy rip of it, but according to our boy over at sonixgvn (soitre) there should be lossless rip up on astost, so if you're on there you should be able to find it.

@Zodiacmaster
On the first page directory, the ZoE Remix Selection I posted is linked as a "mirror" link to the ZoE Remix Edition. They're actually two different albums, should you get a spare moment would you mind making the adjustment?
Also the AC game rip I posted here (
http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/lossless-video-game-soundtrack-thread-v2-126974/325.html#post2846512) could be mistaken for FSR-003 | ARMORED CORE VERDICT DAY ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK - VGMdb (
http://vgmdb.net/album/41266) given the way it's labeled. I did through the official logo onto the cover art to give it something to visually tie it the it's game of origin, but it's not an official release by any means.

Oh jeez. I guess you are a ZoE fan, I think you even have a rip of WAVE's cover album floating around here somewhere.
I'm a fan of the 2nd game. Very much so. Anubis. The mecha designs are absolutely fantastic, especially back when it just came out it was like the most aesthetically gracious thing of its kind, just doesn't get better than that.
If and when Konami will be ripe again for a sequel, I strongly hope they will continue with the style of the 2nd Runner. Whatever sketches they presented for a proposed sequel (back when HD Collection was released) did not impress me at all. I mean it was too much a far cry from ZOE 1 & 2. It was medieval dark knight type, kind of like combine Dark Souls with ZOE. Granted it was not announced as a direct sequel but more of a spiritual successor, but still. What the shit. Don't over think and try to come up with something super duper original, a spiritual successor. The series does not need a reboot with complete overhaul of art design. It has plenty, I mean PLENTY of untapped potential in terms of mecha designs with what they established so far - egyptian mythology + super slick looking orbital frames.

Thanks Uvogin, but What.CDs guide is just an anal-nitpicking guide for the most backstopped of weaboos.
1. What is the XLD Checksum Plugin? I googled it and cant even find it.
2. I didnt test the rip before ripping, and no errors occurred. This doesnt detract from the accuracy of the rip.
3. Incorrect read offset for drive. Correct offsets are: +6, 6 (Checked against the following drive(s): Slimtype eNAU708 5), -5 points [90]
Huh? I used the automatic detection for offset setting. I dont know how to set it manually. OK I looked it up on this site:
http://accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm
I set it manually now, but I wonder if its worth re-ripping? I have ripped alot of CDs not realizing the offset was not auto-detected on this particular drive… It affects AccurateRip, I presume.

You know, Zone of Enders 3 wont happen. Kojima is done with Konami bro. ZOE is *that other* Kojima franchise that wasnt Metal Gear Solid that used to have alot of momentum behind it. Sad to see how it has fizzled and evaporated. Even if it got made it would be for mobiles and be an MMO like I suspect Suikoden VI will end up as.

(Speaking about why he decided to head MGS4, Kojima revealed that he received a number of death threats (not from CVG) after announcing that he would be less involved in the project. "The staff heard about this and got very nervous," said Kojima. "We talk today as if it was a joke, but at the time, it was not a joke at all. It was serious.")
I dare him to leave.

Just got two copies of this in the mail about a week or two ago. Still trying to figure out how to do acceptable lossless rips on a Mac...
Any luck with ripping this yet?
Uvogin

OK I looked it up on this site: Digital Audio Extraction (
http://accuraterip.com/driveoffsets.htm)
I set it manually now, but I wonder if its worth re-ripping? I have ripped alot of CDs not realizing the offset was not auto-detected on this particular drive… It affects AccurateRip, I presume.
I'm on Windows and use EAC, so I'm not sure what the XLD Checksum Plugin is. Maybe it's this Log Checker plugin? From the guide on What.CD:
Logchecker Plugin
There are several methods of adding LogChecker functionality.
1. You can manually apply the plugin by putting the XLDLogChecker.bundle file into ~/Library/Application Support/XLD/PlugIns. You can go to this folder by using the "Go to Folder" option (cmd+shft+G) from within Finder and pasting the full path into the resulting text box. You can obtain this file via the What.CD Toolbox for OS X or download the XLDLogChecker-20121222.zip file from any of the sites listed above.
Once installed properly, you will see an option for "Log Checker" under the XLD menu. You will most likely have to restart XLD for the Log Checker to take effect.
Here's the file from their toolbox: Download (
https://mega.co.nz/#!QgtADDAL!8gc8pqeh9GOQekLyjk7DuegYH3SotIOZe1s8b_0 steU)
If that doesn't resolve it let me know. I am happy to help.

P.S. I found a cue sheet for that Muv Luv Vocal Collection that pretty much clears up the confusion regarding those bonus tracks. After given that last track a closer listen it turns out there are two vocal tracks playing during parts of the song instead of the single vocal track that is featured in Disc 1's version of the song. Thing is... they still don't show up in the booklet info, so I guess they're just bonus tracks on a niche enough album that no one talks about it.

I downloaded these years ago. The first album came with the CD version of narcissu -SIDE 2nd-, and includes selected tracks from the first two narcissu games. As for the second one... I have no idea. It appears to be a mostly complete soundtrack of the first narcissu game, but I have absolutely no idea of where it comes from (VGMdb doesn't list it).
Not my rips.
Here's my 2 cents of complaints: Konami fucked up with release of ZOE HD Collection, it was of poor quality, they did not do justice to their games, and Mr Kojima made himself look like a fool. Why look like a fool? Because he was at the front of a hype train for upcoming HD Collection. And then when it was released it had poor performance, low framerate, graphical artefacts not present in PS2 originals. Konami screwed up by letting a less experienced studio handle the HD remaster. And what gets me is that Kojima was all like "Yeah HD collection of my wonderful ZOE games, super fast fluid combat, I'm proud to present, make sure to buy it, bla bla bla". And then... like did he sit down to maybe check it out for a couple hours before the product was shipped? I mean he had time to talk about it on his podcast, to appear in commercials for it, to participate in crowd events dedicated to ZOE HD... but he didn't have time to actually play the game for a couple hours to see that it's not what he promised. I mean that issues like framerate were right there as soon as you start the game, how could you miss it? only by not looking at all.
Of course the reality of things is that there are deadlines, and there are executive bosses who make the decisions to push the product out of the doors, and there are less competent studios for the job, and yada-yada. But wasn't he one of executive bosses at the time? Yea he was. Well to be fair as far as I recall he did own up to the screw up and admitted that HD pack was below set standards.
If only they didn't rush it to make a quick buck. A shame that no one who should've cared, did care. I was looking forward to play 2nd Runner all over again in HD on PS3. But the reason it was so screwed up and slow is the reason I never opened the Japanese Premium Pack. I was going to play it in Jap language, since PS3 games are region free. But instead ended up breezing thru American version for a bit, and said "The hell with it" in utter dissatisfaction.
As for mobiles and MMO... I'm looking forward to ZOE 3 cellphone game! ouch >_<
The death threats go as far as MGS3, I remember death threats drama being mentioned even back then when he was going to let someone else take over director's chair. The dude's being trying to retire [from the series] for over a decade.
On the other hand I can't take seriously what the hell is going through those people's heads, the ones who send death threats. It probably goes something like this: "Dear Kijima-sama you failed to participate in my favorite game, you ruined my hobby, you ruined my life, now die motherfucker, die die die!"
Dam Milo, It was preparing my ultimate ZOE post for more than 2 week !!
:( you beat me.
It's all good. Your post is still superbE! :D Good job on a cover btw.

At least it got the job done. It's thanks to those people Metal Gear Solid games are still being to this date.
But... I think we'll need some more.. you know... ju-ju-just to make sure he doesn't leave.

Yes, it's thanks to those people. We should send some death threats to those people to make sure they don't stop sending death threats to Kojima-sama, so that we can keep on getting our Metal Gear games.

Some interesting stuff on here.. especially the Sonic album.. you can download most of this stuff for free by putting in 0 for amount. However if you can afford at least $1 the artist would appreciate it. I don't know them personally, just like some of their work is all.
I'd buy the Sonic and Sonic OVA albums but I'm totally broke x.x Wish someone could post them here.

I just wanted to make people aware of an ongoing Kickstarter campaign for Commodore 64 remakes. Someone posted a link to the Reformation Kickstarter earlier, which I backed myself thanks to that, so maybe there is someone interested in this one that doesn't know about it. I will back it myself and I hope the funding goes up enough to at least include a fourth disc.

it was. like mario kart 8 the date changed
I've been keeping an eye out on YJA for an actual copy (not that pre-order shit) of Mario Kart 8. I'll be sure to grab one once the price drops around 2,000 yen. And you can be sure, I'll be ripping it (if no one else does by then).
Although, currently collecting Amiibo is a top priority for me (especially with the new waves). So some of my money is set aside waiting for Wave 5 pre-orders, and also just in case I have to pay some scalper for a Ness amiibo.

SLIPSTREAM : Volume One (FLAC) [2012]
Artist : CoLD SToRAGE aka Tim Wright.
https://coldstorage.bandcamp.com/album/slipstream-volume-one
From the man himself "SLIPSTREAM Volume One features 64 bit digital re-mix / re-masters of my tracks from WipEout and WipEout 2097. Each track has been painstakingly E.Q.'d, compressed and spatially enhanced for the best possible listening experience. It's been a long time coming - I hope you enjoy! "

Normalization re-adjusts the decibel levels of audio files to a prescribed or specified level so that all the audio tracks are at the same volume levels. It's intended to be used on groups of tracks (such as albums) where the decibel levels differ significantly (either too loud or too faint) track by track, a situation ideal for normalization.
That said, I'm against normalization for the fact that the decibel levels are usually adjusted by default (in multiple applications such as foobar2000) to levels that are far too faint for my tastes. It also doesn't help that the normalization process permanently changes the track, while it's not an issue in foobar2000 when dealing with lossless formats, this does alter lossy formats in a manner that can't be undone.
As for the "Removing DC offset", I'm not sure what that refers to. Perhaps it's referring to Disc Correction offset?
I'm sure someone here can enlighten the rest of us on what that's all about.

hmm, I thought that was called volumization
also according to the wiki dc offset has something to do with amplitude which if i remember my lessons is also volume so dc could mean decibal count
so then the dc offset could be the volume offset

The "DC" in DC offset stands for Direct Current. An audio signal is a waveform, an oscillating electrical signal; adjusting the DC offset shifts the entire waveform away from centre. The real question is why you're converting anything in Audicity in the first place - it's a tool for editing audio, not for format conversion.
As far as the normalization debate goes, ReplayGain allows for it without altering the audio. It's also been around since 2001. Nobody should be manually normalising anything unless they're authoring the audio to begin with.

Man, I've searched like everywhere, but I couldn't find it, so I came here as a last resort. Anyone have any S.S.T.BAND (
http://vgmdb.net/artist/123)-related albuns? Especially BLIND SPOT [PCCB-00085] (
http://vgmdb.net/album/591), Strike Fighter [PCCB-00067] (
http://vgmdb.net/album/107) and Back in the S.S.T. Band!! ~The Very Best~ [SCDC-00312] (

http://vgmdb.net/album/658), but I couldn't find these anywhere (lossless, of course). And yes, I used the search tool, japanese search on google, and so on. If someone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Changing the subject, I'm making definitive rips of my collection, tagged with all and every detail on VGMdb and organized as I like. I'm with a shitty 2MB internet, and when I'm uploading, I can't access anything until it finishes, so that's why I didn't uploaded anything yet. Still ripping 30th ANNIVERSARY CAPCOM Music Best:Original & Arrange (

As the producer (and copyright holder) of these albums, I'll just note that we sell these albums for a fair price ($10 each) and try to provide adequate samples to listen to before making a purchase. The decision to produce additional albums in this series and on this label often comes down to a mere hundred sales. We're not getting rich off these albums and at times are not even breaking even. I can't stop anyone from pirating our music, but consider this when you download this and other albums on this and other websites.
If you'd like to chat about game music, our label, or would like to hear more of the album before considering a purchase, shoot me an email! I'd love to hear from you.

ah thanks for the info
i was using a pre made chain in audacity to batch convert some of my collection to mp3 v0, (as I've said before I can't tell the difference for some kinds of music).
it was part of the chain i used. i have since removed that line from the chain based on the responses i got here

Yeah, unfortunate that Loudr doesn't support single track purhases (even though it asked me how much each track should cost). Both albums are on iTunes (0.99 each) and Vol. II is on Amazon (0.89 each):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00VLI4RFY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1431129928&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SY200_QL40&keywords=prescription+sleep+album&dpPl=1&dpID=61n9HWi3iUL&ref=plSrch
Reason this isn't on Bandcamp by the way is because the tracks are legally licensed with royalty payments going to the copyright holders. Bandcamp doesn't currently support royalty payments.

With regard to the lack of log and cue files, I acquired these albums during my early days of collecting video game music in lossless formats. Back then, I didn't understand the importance of preserving those files.
As for the quality of the files themselves, these were downloaded from the Japanese filesharing program, Perfect Dark, in the ape+cue format typical to that community. My process for assimilating files acquired from that service into my collection was to convert the source files to individual flac files using CueTools, then to update the metadata on the files with Mp3tag, including booklet images as available. Then I would put them with the rest of the albums on my video game music archive drive, usually replacing an mp3 rip.
In the interest of ensuring that you aren't downloading evil, crappy transcodes, I took a file from each album, transcoded it to mp3 (lame vbr v0 joint stereo using xrecode II), and ran both the flac and the resultant mp3 through Spek. Here are the results:
Tekken 2 Strike Arranges - 04 Almost Frozen ~ Antarcitca Theme Arranged Version
FLAC

MP3 VBR V0 JOINT
Tekken 3 Seven Remixes - 02 Yoshimitsu (Wiggle Remix)
FLAC

MP3 VBR V0 JOINT
Tekken 3 Techno Maniax - 04 Yoshimitsu
FLAC

MP3 VBR V0 JOINT
I have seen differing opinions regarding the usefulness of these kinds of scans, especially considering all of the other factors that can affect the quality of a rip even before the question of format comes into the discussion. However, I hope that I have provided enough information for you to make a good decision about whether these files are worth your time and bandwidth. If you have any questions about these or any other files I've posted, send them along and I'll do what I can to answer.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/07/DBZ1%262.PNG I'm so happy I found this cd so I could buy it and upload a lossless rip. Something to note, I edited the log file BUT only to take out my name. I replaced my real name with my user name. Everything else is UNTOUCHED. Download (

That's really bad about editing log files, IMO should have re-ripped it in a different folder where your name wasn't there to begin with. No if someone checks the log it will show its edited, there for might think the settings were altered. Just a little advice, never edit a log file, instead make the changes before you rip it. You could have set the folder to like C:\EAC Rips\ ... or something..

Checked a few more flac digital releases i've got and it seems a lot of them come up as cutoff with some lossless tracks. Even CD rips i've done seem to be coming up the same, i don't really know what to think at this point. I thought the track looked lossless from the spectral because there was no cutoff and it didn't shelf at 16khz like mp3 would do.
arfgh
05-09-2015, 10:34 PM
maybe not cutoff, but yes some aliases detected on the spectrogram, a feature that supposely it is done by the pro version....
at the moment i dont trust that program results like i have said.
also, there are more cutoff out of 16Khz, not only on that point.
Edit: anyways let me rise a question for all. If we record audio from unknown quality sources, with a recorder that allow us to create lossless file, is it that file lossless ? yes or not ?
Kazutoyo
05-09-2015, 11:11 PM
it didn't shelf at 16khz like mp3 would do.
While 16KHz is the most common one, in this particular example it went up to 21KHz, but not all the way to 22KHz. So it's not lossless.
Poor CD Mastering is much more common these days than it used to be, or CD releases that are lazy and used lossy files as a source, like the CD release of the Journey Soundtrack which used the AAC files from the iTunes release IIRC. So physical CD releases are not necessarily being lossless, which is unfortunate.

might have been bandlimited
wouldn't trust analysis programs; mid range sounded clear, didn't notice artifacting

05-09-2015, 11:33 PM
It looks lossy to me, it has compression artifacts, those are the tiny "bricks" things on top of every channel (black area) that are separated from purple/red "mass". Here it's between 18 and 20 kHz.
Spectral analysis with zoom is usually your best bet, you can see the artifacts even for aac transcoded files.
And the cutoff (example 20 kHz) can be done on purpose by the sound engineer while keeping all the data up to that frequency, which is the limit of normal human hearing range anyway.

If you don't know which quality the source provides, you can't be sure the data you are recording is actually lossless simply because you're using such format; for all you know, you might be recording (and "size-bloating") a lossy audio track.

I've seen this question asked a few times recently, it seems to me that the distinction is somewhat academic - if a FLAC of a poor quality, potentially lossy source is the only release available, what are you going to do? It doesn't really matter whether you call it lossy or lossless, it's the best you're going to get. As long as everyone is aware of the nature of the release, I don't see it as an issue.
I'm guessing there must be a rise in lossy-mastered material to make this a talking point? I've often wondered just how strict Bandcamp are about the source for their FLAC download option, as I can imagine there are musicians on there who lost their project files and are left with only their MP3 album but want to put it up on sale anyway (or worse, who still have the project files but would lazily convert their MP3 album to FLAC just to save a few minutes of hassle so they can "tick the box").

@arfgh If you want to be really sure, use spek (
http://spek.cc/) to check the spectrum for cutoffs.
Jessie
05-10-2015, 04:13 PM
I used spek but i didn't know if the track i uploaded was actual lossless, even though some of the other tracks are showing as lossless using Lossless Audio Checker, yet have similar spectral analysis results.
Reason i asked is because i was gonna upload it but used spek on the tracks before i did and made me doubt it was actually lossless. I didn't want to be uploading music in flac if it wasn't real lossless so asked here for a second opinion, but from what i've seen while checking with spek and the Lossless Audio Checker that some of what i already have posted are coming up as not lossless or should i say, some tracks from the same soundtrack are showing as lossless and others are not.

spek isnt 100% sure test. The spectrum could be aliased. Probably doesnt exist a 100% sure test procedure...

EDIT: So I noticed the Sonic tracks in that album are either remastered or recreated, kinda similar to what was done with the genesis games on Android. Also, Bridge zone seems to be sped up slightly. Quite an interesting little addition to the album. All in all, I prefer the tracks from the album due to clarity and better instrument choice. That's not to say the gamerip I have is obsolete now, since I prefer that due to nostalgia :D

Eh, I would approach that program with a grain of salt. I just loaded about 20 albums I had recently ripped into FLAC (using the fairly strict What.CD settings) and about 30% are reported as "Cutoff", including one entire album!
Don't start trashing potential lossless rips just because of Lossless Audio Checker.

Exactly for such reasons, I download Flac soundtracks only of users where I know that I do not get crap.
Personal Rips(and PR reupps from others) are of course preferred.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very thankful for every soundtrack here, but doubts about the authenticity of a Flac soundtracks I want to avoid.

You are doing it wrong. Range rips are so 5 years ago. You can set Foobar to read information from a cue sheet and then load it into a playlist. Then you can tell Foobar to convert the selected files to FLAC and it will be split for you. Then you can tag the resulting files. Or if you are a rebel like me you can use Cuetools but I heard that people don't like using it to split range rips because it screws things up or whatever. There may be other easy ways to split the single file into individual tracks but those are the two ways I know of.
Leon Scott Kennedy
05-13-2015, 07:41 PM
1) Range rips are still okay. Or is some of you going to tell me that such "formats", somehow, don't return 1:1 copies of the CD(s)? If so, it would be quite the fuck-up for softwares like EAC, since it supported Image rips for a while.
2) The "cue-manager" screwing things up is Medieval Cue Splitter, actually, CueTools is fine.
Sirusjr
05-13-2015, 09:06 PM
I'm just saying that other sites I know of that I can't name have done away with range rips a while ago. If he wants to share a range rip that is up to him but then in that instance you don't tag the individual files, the information gets saved in the CUE sheet. So Ivalice2 would want to search how to add album information to a cue sheet if he wants to make sure it is tagged how he wants it.
I'm uploading FLAC, Ogg AND MP3 versions of all 44 discs, so it's even worse! :P
Masochist. =D
Btw, do you happen to know if there are any albums that aren't featured in that collection? I'm looking to grab your rip and get rid of some of the redundant albums on my drive, but obviously don't wanna just batch-delete without knowing what made it into the box set and what didn't. I'm looking through some of your sample scans and it looks like even the more recent Shallie albums are in there. So did anything get passed up?
4 CD's tops?
Bring it.
You can set Foobar to read information from a cue sheet and then load it into a playlist.
Either your assumption is correct and he has foobar set to ignore .cue sheets it finds in your music directories (which is default if I remember correctly), or maybe it's just broken cue sheets, which are an easy fix typically. Even if foobar is set to ignore cue sheets though you should still be able to load them properly by either dragging the cue sheet into a playlist or setting the .cue file extension to be handled with foobar (something you find in file properties) and simply opening the cue with a double click.

44 discs, 1454 files, over 46 hours of music.

I wouldn't be surprised if MEGA stops working temporarily since this is all uploaded to a free account, and free accounts are only allowed so much bandwidth every week. Rest assured that the files will stay online, even if MEGA says otherwise.

I bought these soundtracks in 2001, ripped them to mp3 sometime in the early 2000's, and then re-ripped them to flac in 2008. I then sold them in 2010 and have been kicking myself ever since.
I tell you all of this because I must include a caveat with this post. When I ripped these discs, I was using the same EAC settings I used for all of my lossless rips (slow disc speed, rip all tracks before compression, etc). However, while I was preparing these files for uploading, I tested them with Lossless Audio Checker which revealed that the majority of the tracks on Vandal Hearts II and all of the tracks on Vandal Hearts I have a cutoff. Also, Spek scans of some of the Vandal Hearts I tracks revealed a very perceptible line at about the 16kHz point. Meanwhile, some of the files that came up as having a cutoff in Vandal Hearts II didn't show the telltale signs of lossy files, but I am no expert at analyzing those spectrographs. If any of you believe that providing these scans would help you determine whether these files are worth your time, let me know and I will scan all of the files and upload the graphs.
That said, I searched through the forum and could not find any active uploads of these soundtracks, lossless or otherwise (Jessie had rips up in 2009, but Fileserve no longer allows sharing uploaded files). Until more verifiable rips can be provided by another forum member, I submit these files for your consideration.

Until more verifiable rips can be provided by another forum member, I submit these files for your consideration.
playstation has a frequency response less than 0 - 44.1khz for sequenced music. don't know what it is but read that it's similar to snes which is gaussian interpolated and fir lowpassed. there's a plugin for foobar that will play (most) psfs with better clarity, upse (
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Plugins/foo-input-upse.shtml). after 1.5 peops' driver was dropped, and the sound became identical to foo_psf. asked the author about it:
audio quality sounds great and is much clearer than foo_psf or any soundtrack CD
unfortunately some games won't play (nekketsu oyako), will write forever when outputting as a wav (blaster master) or will crash foobar randomly when trying to convert (xenogears, but not always)
tried a later version but the audio quality was muffled... read that peops was dropped
I dropped PEOpS because it's inaccurate and slower. I also dropped this component altogether because it lacks features and has the compatibility and crashing issues you reported.
I could probably be bothered to add inaccurate resampling algorithms to this player, just to give you that "sharper" "clarity" you're used to hearing from other emulators. To foo_psf. I won't be reviving this component for that.
joshw.info has psf & xa and/or cdda (transcoded to mp3) gamerips, useful for finding which tracks are streamed and which are sequenced quickly, if not noticeable by ear. eg vandal hearts:
sometimes soundtracks have higher quality masters than what is present on the game disc (ie cdda in place of xa), other times it's identical. particularly frequent with ds, psp and ps1 games, though

I don't know why, but if the cues don't work properly, sometimes I have the option to re-load the cue to the music file, and sometimes i dont have that option. This is one of those times.

Looking for quite a few Sonic the Hedgehog soundtracks. If anybody has these in lossless (without any additional processing or modification to the files), I would be appreciative. Either an image + CUE or tracks format is fine. Obviously I'm not expecting one person to have all of these, but even if you upload only one of these it will be appreciated.

Care to give a personal Sonic Album Top 5 ?
It's kind of hard, because some of them are all over the place style-wise.
1. Sonic 1 and 2 (bias for old-school, but Sonic 2 is still one of my overall favorite soundtracks)
2. Sonic Adventure 2 (mostly for the melodic rock side)
3. Sonic Lost World (high-energy with some jazz-fusion leanings, lots of cool stuff on here. I ended up liking this a lot more than I planned to)
4. Sonic Heroes (lacks consistency especially towards the end. Gets a bit of a preference boost because of the vocal songs, which are separate from the album. Disc 1 is largely gold.)
5. Toss-up between Sonic Adventure 1 and Sonic Colors. Adventure lacks consistency especially on the second disc, but the great themes are some of the best of the series and some of my favorite in all of VGM land. Colors actually gets a little tiring to listen to, but really didn't have anything I disliked either.
Special mention: Sonic R (I'm sure I don't need to explain why this is a special mention)
The only "bad" ones I've heard are Sonic and the Black Knight, Shadow, and Seven Rings in Hand. Not a big fan of the Groove Rush albums either. I also like a lot of individual tracks from Generations, enough to see the whole soundtrack in a favorable light. It's a decent little "tribute" album.
Also, deleting each and every cutscene theme is a requirement for enjoying Sonic soundtracks.

There has already been line-out rips from it already. It just doesn't sound the same compared to the CD. Also many of us are hoping for maybe a 4 disc version. 2 Discs for the regular game audio, the other 2 with Demo tracks like Sonic 1 & 2 album had.

Did you call Sonic & The Black Knight's ost bad, you sun-bleached grape?!?!?!?
Shadow I agree on, since it's too much metal that I can handle, and Secret Rings sounds... well it's Secret Rings. But for the love of all that is bologna, how can you simply not love the tracks from Black Knight? There are beautiful violins, all kinds of guitars, and Live Life combines the two!

I don't have enough interest in the arrange album to purchase it, so I only have it downloaded as FLAC from somewhere.

Does anyone have the soundtrack to the game "Freedom Planet"? A friend of mine gifted me the game on Steam, and i'm loving the hell out of the music. I'd get the soundtrack myself, but I'm a bit broke right now. Thanks!

Holy shit, I just gifted the game to one of my friends, and I downloaded the soundtrack from this very thread just a few nights ago! Is it fate I find someone in the exact same situation (except I was the one gifting the game)?! :D
What's your favourite track? I fell in love with Fortune Night 1, but after listening to Fortune Night 2 I just can't get enough! Also the piano remix of Fortune Night and the two tracks after that are amazing!

The soundtrack is on this thread? Awesome! I'll have to do some digging, then. That said, I've honestly only gotten through the first level so far, but the music I've heard up to that point is AMAZING! The voice acting is also really impressive.

Hell yeah, dude, every aspect of the game is top-notch, especially the voice acting! I beat Lilac's adventure mode on Normal difficulty a couple nights ago and am almost finished Carol's on the same difficulty. Once I beat Milla I'm going to replay all three of them on Hard difficulty. :D

Thanks for the Witcher 3, BoneSatyr. IIRC those four tracks are from the pre-order bonus. And they're also my favorites. :P
Just wondering if Vegeta (or anyone else here) is planning on obtaining the newly released Xenoblade X OST (
http://vgmdb.net/album/51792)? :3
