Many thanks for that Cosmic Smash OST. Some love your way.

Thank you !!

I take time to upload (2 ~ 3 hours at 50ko/s), so during the upload time, I make some Photoshop pictures for each OST. :p

It's a lot of work, but I love to make everything perfect !! :3

About the Cosmic Smash Gamerip, the audio file in the game is pretty near of the Flac, this is why I have make a newer rip.
The old one was .mp3.

Capcom Music Generation Rockman X1~6 [FLAC] [CPCA-1076~80] 5DISC BOX

Second release of the weekend, and this one's a real tickler. The complete Rockman X works (X through to X6) laid out on five discs for a grand total of 241 tracks. Enough to blow your pants off.
The cherry on top is the slightly odd and very typical-japanese engrish spelling of the tracks. To this day I'm not sure if this is an actual mistake or an intentional prank. So if someone has more information in this regard please let us know.

So there you have it, just over five hours of glorious Rockman music. I've uploaded each of the CDs individually as well as an 'all in one' pack for those of you sitting on a good enough connection.
All hail Keiji Inafune for his blue bomber and the endless hours of fun (albeit it sometimes being frustrating and down right punishing) and splendid razor-edge sharp game play.

I wish you all a continuously splendid and relaxing weekend whereever you might be. Kampai!

Personal rip taken from my own physical collection. Includes cover, logg, cue & playlist. Please support your favorite artist by purchasing their work.
Feel free to PM me if you have requests for re-up, random questions, or just want to talk about the glory that is Bill Murray.
Dowload link and password available in spoiler below. Files provided in 7zip package and hosted by MEGA.
Please remember to change _7z to .7z in file name. And folks, remember. Whisky, cats and coffee is the only true way of life.

WARNING: The complete file download clocks in @ just over 2Gb. - I will update the post later with part-files for those of you equipped with lesser internet.

np MrBobHarris, just a small recommendation for your shares: I'd put longer stuff like tracklists at least into a spoiler tag (i'd say most guys would just look at the vgmdb entry anyway, so I skip tracklists entirely in a thread like this).

Agreed, I've hid it under a spoiler tag so it looks less cluttered.

Donald Duck in Maui Mallard ~ The cold shadow - complete
Many thanks for the rip zaykho, the music was great in this game, as the game itself was one of the best from Disney Interactive with very fluid animation for the time.
In regards to this rip, I' m somewhat surprised that this is (as you specify) is a PC version, because I own the disc and could have sworn that it did not have the soundtrack files. That was actually the reason I bought it some years ago, is to rip WAV tracks from it. Strange, maybe I was blind at the time or something. Frankly I wouldn't want to look for a disc among the boxes in the basement though.

Maui Mallard (Megadrive version) is for me one of the best 10 games in the universe (along with Otogi series, Saga series, Limbo, FFVIII, Grandia 2 etc...).

Well, old games has mixed part, mean that you can see the data part, but can't see the CD music part in the explorer.
It's easy to know, get your cd game and just insert in your CD player of your computer, and then choose "play with windows media player" (if you have windows).

BTW, I know that some people was complaining on Ebay long times ago about American seller doing some "semi-professional" copy of old game, some games was bugged or has missing data........

Otogi

Now that brings back memories. Can remember how bloody difficult that game was back when it first came out on Xbox (never got around to play the sequel). Absolutely amazing piece of work, FROM rarely disappoints.

Yeah ! The first time I have played this game (in a demo disc), I was totally charmed, played again and again and again until the game was released. :)
The 2nd one (Otogi 2) is almost perfect (only bad thing is that we don't have a lot of weapon unlike the first one.... :/ ), but, BUT, we have Seimei (female version :p )!!! I totally fell in love of this girl !

And if you finish the game (Otogi 2) you will find something very interesting between her and Raykho. :3

Just an FYI.. I should be getting History of the 1st Stage White Edition today.. Blue Edition I think is stuck in customs (It took less than 3 days for my package to get from Japan to the US .. pretty fast huh?). :D Anyways just waiting for it to arrive (mail doesn't get delivered for like another 8 hrs or so).

It took me long enough, but the list is up-to-date once again.
Please note that I've put all of the Policenauts and Snatcher entries into the series list. Even though the two games don't represent a series, every album starts with a different letter which makes them placed all over the place in the individual games list. So for clarity's sake, they're all in one place now.

@LiquidAcid what's up with the EBU R128 gain, I don't really understand how it is useful on a single album, aren't tracks usually equally loud on the same album ? :O
Please enlighten me :3

Google for EBU R128 and ReplayGain (Wikipedia and HydrogenAudio should have info). Concerning all tracks being equally loud on an album: No, they aren't.

I normally just remove any ReplayGain using foobar .. and sometimes nothing changes, sometimes albums get louder. It's weird for me lol

Where have you been? I haven't seen you around in a while.

I haven't gone anywhere my ISP Rogers Canada (or robbers as we like to say) has ended my 1 year 300gb/m download cap deal for $60. I am back to 80gb a month now so I just gotta find a new ISP with better bandwidth I think teletek is the right choice if you live in Canada. So yea I have to watch my download which is hard because youtube doesn't save my preferences for not playing higher quality videos it usually reverts back to hd vids in a day or two they must be working with isp's to overcharge people god its so annoying. Also my 1TB hard drive is pretty full. I would download most uploads here but I just simply cannot even though i really want to. Thanks for asking.

Sorry to hear that, reminds me of the shitty ISP plans we had back on Ireland. Feels good to be back in Sweden, so hey Melon. Come join the land of IKEA and blondes. Come join the good life. If not then just for the Internet connection speed. ;)

Have you taken a look at teksavy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TekSavvy). Not sure if it's available where you live.

I used to have Rogers. With what I was paying for then, I fee it was such a ripoff. I'm probably going to cancel my basic cable with them too, and perhaps get netflix.

Melon, I am also Canadian and Teksavvy is the way to go. It's basically Rogers, but way better deals and speed and no bullshit. I've had it for about two years and won't go back to anything else.

ROCKCAN Sound E Can (Rockman 25th Anniversary) 10-DISC SET [FLAC] [CPCA-10264~73]

So to continue on my previous release: Capcom Music Generation Rockman X1~6 [FLAC] [CPCA-1076~80] 5DISC BOX (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/capcom-music-generation-rockman-x1~6-%5Bflac%5D-%5Bcpca-138478/). Lets take a step back to a simpler time. A bye gone era of sprites and flickering enemies. To the blue little bomber in his form which started it all. Remember that first time you played the Cutman stage. Those little pesky flying, grinning faces which you learned to hate. Remember the music. Those sweet, sweet tunes of pure bliss.

So last year, as it happened. The little blue twerp had his 25th anniversary (starting to feel a bit old here but hey, with age comes refinement and style) and Capcom chose to celebrate it by (among other things) releasing the E-tank to end all E-tanks.
A 10-DISC bonanza of Rockman historia.

Sit back, relax and enjoy the 400+ tracks in this monsterbox. In FLAC of course.
Now I think that I've earned a sip of that 21 y.o Suntory Hibiki.

For relaxing times . . . make it Suntory Time!

Mr. Bob Harris...
I don't have words for this. Just "thank you". I was looking this before, just dreaming, because 1 dolar is almost 2,5 reais (Brazil's money, my country), so I'll never get money to buy this, not until 2 years or so. And you come with it *---*
Just thanks, this is really kind and awesome. Such a beautiful collection.

^_^ I remember Xentax forums.

Since it's been a while there's no credibility in this, but I think Isobuster was used on CD to check for a full file tree and see if there are any isolated audio tracks. It revealed none, and I'm sure the disc was legit, licensed and official. But once again maybe I'm just misremembering something, maybe it was even before I knew how to quickly look for audio tracks in older games. Probably that's what it is.
Anyway I'm glad you brought this up, and it's good to know that at the music released in such high quality for at least one version of the game. Favorite tracks are "02 - The Story" and "04 - The Mojo Mansion" = are the ones I remember the game by. Well and of course "01 - Opening".
The whole ninja thing was so unusual for a Disney character, and those were impressions the game left on me = original mix of settings, super fluid animation, and solid platformer gameplay.

Now that brings back memories. Can remember how bloody difficult that game was back when it first came out on Xbox (never got around to play the sequel). Absolutely amazing piece of work, FROM rarely disappoints.
I've always thought of From Software as a strong developer, or rather strong developer that can pull it off when they really want to. Otogi is a bright example of "when they really want to". From the series of Armored Core to Otogi was a sudden jump. Heck, I have no idea where they got all those skillful artists from, but all of a sudden they were able to produce a visually refined and striking piece of work. That's the thing about art direction, it doesn't get old as nearly as fast as technology does. Which is why Otogi might not hold up in terms of polygon count or highly detailed environments, but it outshines many titles from today thanks to a vivid artwork.

I will upload/re-upload some of my rare stuff that was never published anywhere on the net:
Otogi 1 & 2 (Full DIGITAL Gamerip with proper TAG name, never released on the web (only a analog rip for Otogi 2))
Kudos! This would probably save me the trouble of doing the same thing, as my Otogi1 was already complete but 2 still needed some tweaking. Actually I will likely still post them... just for it to be so.
Either way - good stuff, keep it up.

:/

The whole reason to actually buy this pointless money grab collection is for the physical can and discs. All the music on it can be had elsewhere, in better quality, for cheaper.

If you are very intimately familiar with how Mega Man 2 is suppose to sound on the actual NES hardware, prepare for your head to explode out of disgust and rage. They really screwed up MM2 on the E Can release. The whole E Can is a half assed embarrassment.

(No offense to BobHarris, who is great for a sharing a 10 disc FLAC rip.)

None taken, so don't worry about it Yishai. I actually to some extent agree with you. I bought it for two reasons. One, it's a collectors item and I'm somewhat of a sucker for those. Stupid as I am. And two, only place so far to get all the Rockman OSTs in one box. Like you said.

Now an odd thing about this can, the box itself is really sturdy and nicely done. But the insides are real crap (in lack of other words). A Cardboard frame holding the ten CDs. Which doesn't even have any inlays. Just plain see-through jewel cases with the CDs in them. Feels like the went for the cheep route in the end. CRAPCOM.

Don't you guys have 80% tax?

Common misconception. That and the fact that we supposedly have polar bears walking the streets. Last time I looked that is not the case (sadly, it would've been awesome).
Out income tax in Sweden depends on your monthly pay, and if you're what's classified as a 'high income' citizen, yes then you pay a little more. Sure. But we have pretty good social, healthcare and welfare services (that are payed by all those tax monies) as well as good work-benefits and contracts.

You should come and try it out. Sweden's a pretty happy place (though Sweden usually end up complaining about stuff anyway, it's in our blood for some reason).

Same Track for me :p, but I will add "09 - The Flying Duckman" and "07 - The Sacrifice of Maui", The Flying Duckman is my favorite one !!!

About the game, this is the ambiance that I love the most, great colors, original and multiple gameplay (shoot = shoot + platormer, ninja = beat'em all + platformer, and many other things like the mini donald, bungee jumping, water fighting etc....) a perfect respect of atmosphere (the menu title with the black/blue background) and some good laught.

Otogi was made for Xbox1 so now that the Xbox One is coming out, I say From Software should be so kind and provide us a sequel or a remake please :)
It's been how long, like 10 years at least? Yep, now is a good time for a remake.

Gotcha, well for some reason I'm glad your Otogi2 rip isn't instantaneously ready already. Maybe because I feel bad that my own rip was taking so long to progress at all (been busy and stuff). Though I really should get around to finish it up.
Anyway best of luck with your Otogi rips, and I look forward to their release. We might even compare them when they all done.

I did my part, I can assure you that :3 Guess the XBOX was the wrong platform at the time for that type of game. Would have fared better on the PS2 even though it would've been technically impaired.

MiL
08-07-2013, 10:52 AM
That's very true, the game would have a lot more chances to get picked up by a general public if it was on PS2. Oh well, From Soft made their choice and took a risky road. In the end it didn't pay off and didn't work out as well as it should. I mean even in interviews they said that Otogi2 was put into production not because the first one was making money, but because of the fans and recognition.
I think nowadays that the games are getting more multi-platform releases, From would have a much higher chance of success if they decided to put out a new Otogi game for home consoles.
Just do it From. Just do it! :D

On the topic of something related to (many) of the links here. Does any of you have any experience with MEGA "freezing" in Google Chrome at random moments in time after a couple of file downloads.

Almost as if it fills up the browser cache with temp data to the point where it can't handle it anymore. Usually it helps clearing out the webcache but I'm steadily growing more and more tired of the process.

Did some quick google-fu and it didn't turn up anything useful really.

Previously I had no problem whatsoever with MEGA, but recently (as in the last few weeks) I'm having those "freezes" every now and then :(

Good (not really) but at least I'm not alone with these problems then. I'm guessing they're having a whole heap of growing pains to an otherwise splendid service. So can't really complain about it. Here's hoping they'll sort it out soon enough!

I have freezing downloads occasionally - but uploading has just been a nightmare!! I'm in the process of uploading the R-Type Retro Collection and all four times I tried to upload as one single archive (1.2GB) , it's frozen every time - hours down the drain. One of the times was on 100%! >_<

I've had to split the album into individual discs and so far have only managed to get the first disc up (took three tries) - I'm now on my third go for the second disc, so heres hoping. The obvious solution would be to just use another file locker... and already tried that. Problem for me currently is I've used up my monthly bandwidth - so instead of 100kbps up speed I'm down to around 30kbps *shudders* - my connection always eventually slows to a halt then drops out. (my government is currently rolling out FTTP though, can't wait!!)

It's embarrassing atm... so for the guys waiting for the R-Type collection, it's going to take a little while longer (I can post the link for the first disc if people want) and to MrBobHarris, I'm so sorry but as promised the other day; the Triggerheart Excellica sound anchor won't be up this week, it's now looking like next week unfortunately.

Really sorry guys! I'm also being punished with a group assignment at university which has taken more of my time than I'd like to allocate (lazy people infuriate me! lol) I'll do my best, you beautiful people you!!

Sounds very annoying, funny thing is that upload for me has been flawless all the time (or at least 95% of the time). Only the downloads.

For avoiding this problem you need to configure the cache.

I will explain quickly, every-time you download/upload on MEGA with Google chrome, the files are stored on a TEMP folder before send/finishing the download.

If you download a 500 mo files, you will have 500 mo on your temp cache folder of your Google Chrome until your finish it, then it will ask you where to move the files when the download is over.

But the fact is, it will only move the finished file, but the .temp file will still be on the temp cache folder of Google Chrome.

At the end, you have 500mo on your cache temp + 500 mo where you have chosen to move the finished file.

Example, last night I have downloaded some Sonic Adventure OST ( 1go + 1go + 450 mo), and I was forced to clear the cache after each download (only remain 3go on my C: disk). I never got Freeze on MEGA with this technique.

This is not a personal rip, so unfortunately the log and cue files are not included. Well, the title of this album says it all, if you are for a little of piano and cello drama, then give a try to this one. Five tracks coming in under 20 minutes, a sort of mini-album, quality over quantity. I recommend this strongly, you're in for a treat.

Dear Vegeta,

Hi, thanks for your email and apologies for this oversight. When we ordered these discs from the Japanese vendor, they specified that they were only shipping the Blue Edition but apparently, they sent a White Edition as well with the Blues which our warehouse staff did not catch during order processing.

If it is okay, please feel free to ship the White Edition back to us and we'll restock the Blue Edition from our vendor in the next few days and exchange the product. If you can ship the White Edition in the original box back by USPS Media Mail, we will refund you for the shipping cost through Paypal refund. Thanks for your quick notification.

Kind Regards,
National Console Support, Inc
Your Import Specialist since 1989

So now I'm sending it back and they are refunding the shipping and sending me the correct one.

And I honestly don't care about posting this publicly, they fucked up and I believe everyone should know about it.

Well, at least they are refund you the shipping cost, I known a tons of web-shop that give you a big-finder about refunding the shipping cost !

I remember when I was buying a HDD on an American web-site, after 1 month of delay I got an HDD totally screwed and unusable, then, they say me:

We will refund you the cost of the HDD, for this, you need to send back the damaged disk.
The shipping cost is at your charge.

So I was totally fu**ed, wasting 1 month and losing about ~60€ for nothing ! (~30€ for the shipping, 20€ for customs charge and ~10€ for exchange rate in paypal[$ and € value was raising/decreasing in this crisis time])

I was not aware of your EAC tutorial when I ripped the OutRun boxset & I used one from the hydrogenaudio forums. Even if you said that the setting I used to rip where shitty I have not heard any complaints about my rip. There was a problem where one of the cue files where linking to a flac instead of a wav file; but nothing a text editor can't fix.

Also, I havent heard of what.cd until you just mentioned it. I have no access to it anyway. More than likely someone dled my release & is torrenting it from there.

From what I can see it was ripped as Range instead of tracks, not sure if JudgeIto split the rip and used that or what.

Do you still own this, or have you sold it? I was going to say a re-rip would be nice, but then again thats your time n what not. Because if you are going to use EAC to rip to FLAC you might as well use the tutorial I had put together.

Thread 95744

This is in ape, it makes sense if I then convert it to FLAC?
Or that is not to suggest, and I should leave it in ape?

@Chrono Meridian
No it's ok to convert it. They are both lossless so you won't damage the quality or anything.

Sorry Kanyenda if you were planning to upload this one as well, but I just wanted to share it with everyone. You see, I am a really big fan of Symphonic Rain. That last album was really good, but this one contains the vocals. These songs are the main reason I fell in love with the game. That it had a really good story was discovered afterwards. Anyway, I just had to track this down and share it with you guys. Once again, I HIGHLY recommend this music. I know not everyone will agree, but if just one person enjoys these I'll be happy. This is a reupload and not one of my rips.

Hey guys, I am looking for all possible link linked to THE LEGEND OF ZELDA games, can anyone help me with it? This serie is probably to my opinion the one who has the best video game music ever and so I would be pleased if anyone has FLAC or ALAC versions of the different albums of the serie.

BTW, I did a search on the thread and found only the original japanese "the legend of zelda ocarina of time" soundtrack

Thanks for any help!

I actually tried to rip it again because when I first did it, somehow tracks 2 and 11 were still WAV, but at the time I didnt realize at the time that in actuality everything had been ripped, just that the aforementioned WAV files were oddly named, so I deleted those two. Since you mentioned the log, is each track supposed to have both peak quality and track quality at 100%? It said there were no errors(2nd rip was aborted, so it doesnt count).

The error is the log file can't be edited without raising flags. Any rip that is done, should never show more than 1 attempt at ripping. Also this came up even with only the first rip attempt..

'Defeat audio cache' should be yes. (maybe your drive doesn't cache audio?)
C2 pointers were used

I also noticed you changed the file names after the rip.. but something screwed up (guessing you used mp3tag and didn't use trailing 0's) .. so your file names show up as like 1-6 track.flac, 07 track.flac, 8-10 track.flac .. ect ..

I got my wii .brstm files from underground gamer. I found a torrent http://kickass.to/nintendo-wii-2009-01-17-t1938138.html but unfortunately it doesn't contain Punch Out. If you got the .brstm all you have to do is simply convert it using foobar or winamp with the right plugin. There is a way to rip the brstm diretly from the .iso of punchout but I have never done it before there are plenty of guides though like this one Thread 69234 but theres lots more on youtube etc. Or better yet you can record the music directly from your Wii a little time consuming but still worth the effort.

I think thats the ONLY album I had uploaded there, that I had actually got to fill a request. As far as the other album goes, I had only checked Disc 1 which turned out to be 100% .. I wasn't aware that he would screw up on Disc 2 where he attempted to rip the same Disc twice because of the "Not in accurate rip database" (assuming). As far as coasting off others work (and its not like you haven't uploaded others work so stfu), any album I had uploaded I gave them credit. Even that RockCan album I asked MrBobHarris if it was alright, he said not a problem (short version). Not quite sure why you are even concerned.

This is false. When I had uploaded the RockCan album I had noticed yes there was a bounty so I filled it. I had no idea tondollari was trying to do the same. After I had uploaded I received a rippy message from tondollari saying "you beat me to it".

Also, I don't see the point in crediting the original uploader, unless it's cassette/vinyl. There is a log in there with all the information relevant to the rip.

Yeah but not everyone knows which CD Drive someone uses.. and not everyone uses special folder paths with their name on it.

It's primarily another way of saying thanks. "to credit", the word implies that meaning. You take your hat off to the people presenting you with something. It's part of sharing netiquette, but some people go that far to make it a requirement which doesn't have my support because it's against sharing in its pure sense. I like to credit others when I know who ripped something but more often than not I don't know and as far as I am concerned no one needs to credit me. I can't deny the warm feeling when I get credited, but I couldn't care less when someone doesn't.

It's a nice thing to do, but should never be a requirement.

When someone doesn't credit my rips, the least I could do is send a squad of ninja assassins after them.

Other than that, yep to credit is not necessary, it's just a nice thing to do. And personally I tend to keep a record of what rip came from who/where, when the rip is of some importance.

The only real credit that matters for something like this are the people that actually composed the music. Yes, we all appreciate those that buy this stuff and rips it, but come on. Credit for ripping something? That's a bit asinine.

Track 1 - The Hawk of Turbulent Times:
Prokofiev has his fingerprints all over Kanno's discography, and it seems with this soundtrack that his influence has been consistently strong. Though the opening 24 seconds resembles what one might hear in an NHK Taiga drama complete with a piccolo imitating a shakuhachi, the piece shifts to a steady ostinato with a Prokofiev-ian melody punctuated by stabs in the orchestra. Then suddenly the time signature shifts to a triple metre and the harmonies become more Ravel-like and flowing like waves. At 1:25 the piece recaps the Prokofiev-ian melody with typical Prokofiev-ian "wandering violin" accompaniment (see Alexander Nevsky) followed by descending chords bringing to mind the Symphony No. 5, and finally one of Kanno's first uses of the brass cluster.

Track 5 - Spring Waves:
There isn't really much to say about this one except it is so obviously modeled on Prokofiev's pop hit Dance of the Knights from Romeo and Juliet that you wonder if either orchestra that's performed/recorded this asked any questions. Anyway, the melody is actually pretty original and somewhat clever if you consider how natural it sounds. The middle section (or is this a bridge?) seems kind of out of place harmonically as it can't decide if it's still menacing or an uplifting choral. The recap is in A minor instead of the opening D minor, and watch out for that deceptive cadence.

Track 6 - Supreme Ruler Suite:
I don't know how the music to this series fits together, but I think this piece is actually from a previous entry Kanno scored and Tenshouki is probably the sequel? This piece harkens back to the NHK drama sound that actually sound un-Kanno-ish and more like the kind of music you hear in Ys or even Dragon Quest. Like a lot of typical orchestral music from Japan it's melancholic and uses a lot of block harmonies and parallel 4ths. At 0:54 the rising motif rings of Ralph Vaughan Williams's Sea Symphony (as there seems to be a recurring theme of sea-faring ships on the waves.) Some signature moves from Kanno here includes the circle of fifths at 2:41 and the Wagner parody at 3:00 (see Ride of the Valkyries.) The counterpoint following that is very concise. The ending is typical of Kanno, first using quick brass chords in a dissonant major 7th from the bass, then ending with bell tones she will employ again in Brain Powerd and Macross Frontier.

Track 11 - Shining Battlefield:
If this piece reminds you of one composer, it would have to be Aaron Copland and his famous Appalachian Spring. If this piece reminds you of two composers, the second would be John Williams and his string/wind flourishes he (borrowed from Howard Hanson's Symphony No. 2) used in E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. This kind of piece is typical of Kanno: first starting off with an off-kilter and bouncy theme that is slightly modal, and it is carried forth into an ostinato where a more chordal foundation can be laid. You get the feeling that this might have been something Williams wrote for the Olympic Games or NBC News. Is it just really well written in Williams's style?

As far as coasting off others work (and its not like you haven't uploaded others work so stfu), any album I had uploaded I gave them credit.i guess i'm too slow compared to the likes of you guys, since 40 or so of my 54 uploads consist of black metal and a few noise albums, all of which i own personally. the remainder are file converts of stuff i've downloaded that someone else has already uploaded (and most of those were the early uploads, when i moved up to power user for a few months).

I had one, but I cant remember the name of it .. it checked all flac files and displayed either CDDA or MP3 (CDDA being legit).

There are two programs that does exactly what zaykho is describing, "auCDtect" and "audiochecker". The two programs operate very similarly despite "auCDtect" being a CL tool, but there's a frontend for "auCDtect" that works with foobar2000 called "fooCDtect" that can be accessed through foobar2000's "convert" command once fooCDtect/auCDtect is properly integrated with foobar2000. "audiochecker" is a standalone program that works on its own. If you try both programs, you'll see that the logs that are produced are quite similar initially. So, one would ask "what is the difference?" and from what I remember, the difference is that auCDtect is newer and uses (I'm not 100% sure about this) a more accurate algorithm to analyze the audio data. I personally use auCDtect for it has an option to produce logs with verbose information on the audio data that's analyzed but that doesn't necessarily mean that "audiochecker" doesn't have that option, but I wouldn't know because my experience with "audiochecker" was limited to a handful number of times using it before I replaced it with auCDtect.

So if you're still reading this, I would say to give both programs a try and if you're interested in the exact details of the verbose info that auCDtect produces in its logs post-analysis, here's the command string I use for "auCDtect" (through "fooCDtect"):

--0 --lfor 3 --lenc 2 --output %d

Btw, the accuracy of both programs has been put into question for people have been able to get a 100% CDDA result from mp3 V0 files so take that into consideration when using the programs and reading the results. In the end, the only sure fire way to check these audio files is to read the frequency spectrum of the audio through programs such as Adobe Audtion, Audacity, Spek, etc. Of course, this also means that you have know how to read/understand the frequency and know the specifications and limitations of lossy codecs vs lossless (uncompressed) audio data/codecs.

In conclusion, both programs I detailed in this post are easy to find, if there are other similar programs that you guys feel are better and (more importantly) more accurate, feel free to share and inform us all.

Good question, the only thing I can think of is to compare the checksums (CRC / V2) of the tracks and/or EAC log against the entries in the accurip database, but I have no how to access the database without EAC or Cuetools to determine if people have actually uploaded bootleg albums to the database. In the future, I suggest converting to FLAC and tagging it before posting. They call it Lossless for a reason.

I do very much appreciate your sharing this rare lossless soundtrack. It is much less work overall for an initial poster to edit the tags rather than everyone who downloads it tagging it.

??????? ?????????????????? / QUPE [??] - CDJournal (http://artist.cdjournal.com/d/velvet-file-original-soundtrack/3200090628)

I reupload for zaykho and other members. I don't know these ripping files are proper rip or not.
(The files which were ripped by the decent way based on a trusted source and trusted member or not.)
Of course I don't intend to complain to Teioh. I thank for him what he uploaded it for a site and a other members.

When I see the Absord Music Japan AMJ and its logotype, I remember Zetto.

Thank you very much !! :)

^track 5 and track 8 are the same

i haven't played the game is that correct?

No it's not correct, but I think the error come from the OST directly and not from the user.
The rip is accurate.

In the future, I suggest converting to FLAC and tagging it before posting. They call it Lossless for a reason.

but .wav is a lossless format ? Tagging doesn't make it any better, someone could leave tags blank and other people can tag it how they want.

Does someone have the DANGANRONPA OST in FLAC format?

This is said album: SPLR-1101~2 | DANGANRONPA Original Soundtrack - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/23469)

In this forum, it's only posted on its own thread in mp3 format (it's years old), and google-searching it I can only find the sequel's one (Super DANGANRONPA 2, which I haven't played yet since only the first one was recently fan-translated), being the only exception a "remix album" of the first one, the one I want, which IS NOT the OST of the game but a different CD (in some web called anime-mp3)

It's just IMPOSSIBLE to find it, and I searched for days. I don't like to request since I find asking quite troublesome but I seriously don't know where to look anymore :(

Thank you very much in advance.

No. .wv (wavepack) is a lossless format in the true sense of the word, though it is not very widely used. Wav files can not be tagged because they are uncompressed. A lossless format is one where you can compress the audio and still keep all the data. The file upload is bigger when compressing a wav release than it is when compressing a flac release. His post is 519MB while the compressed version of FLAC is 283MB.

Though by having the track names in the file names, re-tagging it is a relatively painless process.

Well but don't forget something, I hate hyper compressed FLAC, why ? simply because every time you play a track, your mediaplayer need to decompress them in the fly, struggling your CPU like a full 720p video.

Well in this case is not something really annoying, but when you play a game and want to listen some of your flac music, well everything go down !This is why I only use a no compressed Flac ( compressionrate:0 ).

Then, about the .wav your wrong, this format is used a lot, example: how you play a flac music in mp3player/phone/psp that do not play flac ?And even so, the psp have some plugin to play Flac, but it require a lot of power and use the battery like hell.

In those case, wav is the best choice, greater performance, quality and compatibility, his only negative point is his weight.

Playing a 80mo .wav is easier and better than a 20mo .flac for any mediaplayer. This is why you don't see any .flac running around on games, only .wav, .ogg, .adx, ut3 and many other proprietary format.

Correct me if I am wrong, but ripping any lossless codec whether its .ape, .wv, .tta, .m4a (ALAC), or .flac .. you still have to first reach .wav then its encoded to one of those? So when you think about it .wav doesn't lose quality. So why wouldn't it be lossless? I didn't know tagging was required to consider something lossless..

tl;dr - Drop .wav files in EAC .. convert to .flac .. use mp3tag to tag them.... done?

No, not really.

When you rip a CD, the musicdata stored doesn't have any .format (simply is not encoded), .wav and .flac are lossless, the only difference is the algorithm they use to store and read the data.

.Wav doesn't compress anything, so it's heavy weight.
.Flac use some algorithm to compress the data as most as he can without losing quality. Everytime you play a .flac, your media player decompress and read the data.

Is like playing an album with 128.zip track, every-time you play a track, you decompress and read the data, the bad thing is you decompress on the fly, meaning that each seconds you decompress+read.........(depend of the media-player)

Foobar plays flac just fine for me lol .. i don't notice hardly any delay between songs. :D

Also Added Yoshi's Story Game Soundtrack – Music to Pound the Ground... - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/819) to my collection, thanks to Judge Ito's rip.

Wav is just kinda annoying to download cause of the extra size. But you really shouldn't be having any lag decoding a flac file. Unless it's like Flac Level 8, in which case you're just shooting yourself in the foot (for playback)

This is bullshit. Have you actually looked at how decoding performance of the codec performs? This is negligible at best. What kills you is memory bandwidth, both to RAM and disk -- the bottleneck here clearly isn't CPU time.

I think the word lossless refers to the compression, therefore it's not really correct to call WAVE (.wav) lossless because it's not compressed. (Anyone with more knowledge on this matter is free to correct me of course).

More bullshit. Of course data on a CDDA has a specific format. That's specific by the Redbook standard. Among other things it says that audio data is stored as linear PCM, bitdepth of 16 bits (signed), two channels (stereo) and a sampling rate of 44.1kHz. Voila, here's your format.

Stop talking about topics you don't know nothing about, you only end up confusing other people.

EDIT: And you can very much store metadata inside a WAV container, see Audacity Wiki (http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/WAV). The only problem is that this is very limited and also poorly implemented in most software around you.
