Why does it take a lot longer to extract this compared to other archives of similar size?

Edit: Orange Box archive also takes a long time to extract. What gives?

Can't I download the Einhander OST without signing up? I don't find any download link that gets me the file without having to 1: Sign Up, or 2: Download that ilivid program.

Hey I have not yet encountered 7z files yet, but with some google searches i found this app for macs called the unarchiver. It seemed to uncompress your scans, but for some reason when I try to open up the soundtrack 7z files, it says it can not extract them...any ideas why this is happening??

No, there is still a full version that you have to pay for.
The free version is perfectly usable, though. The full version only adds a few unnecessary features and removes the annoying pop-up asking the user to buy it.

Does anyone have a lossless version of the OST included with Kirby's Dream Collection on Wii (I mean not the music of the game itself).
In fact, I found on the net a MP3 320 Kb/s, but from what I've understood, even if the quality is excellent, it's still compressed unlike FLAC or WAV files. Hope I didn't misunderstand all of these things. (English isn't my first language, then forgive me if I'm totally wrong).

Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange

I'm not going to bother to make this too fancy. I messed up, so the tags are a bit screwy, but it's nothing you can't fix easily. Rip was done with EAC, I think I did everything right. RAR'd with v. 4.20 WinRAR, you might have to update or use same version depending on what program you use.

I don't know how many of you are obsessive collectors, but I encourage you to give this soundtrack an actual try. 1999 was that special year when PSX soundtracks got really good streamed stuff, and this one is no exception.


Because some filehosts come up with some strange rules regarding archive files in particular, I removed the file extension from the archive so that it won't fall under any such restrictions. There was a remix CD of the second game's music that came free with a French gaming magazine, and also a couple of promo releases, but nothing like a proper soundtrack release (in Japan or elsewhere) that I can find any trace of, despite what Wikipedia says. Would be interested to hear otherwise.

Since older and the stable 4.20 Version doesnt support RAR5 Archive, i would say no.

It's seriously warming to see how many people appreciate the awesomeness of the Cyber Org soundtrack. I'm really glad I'm not the only one that enjoys such great music.

Well, it's seriously good, and I honestly never thought I would ever see it shared in lossless. Now, if only the same were to happen with Silent Bomber I think I would be both happy and content for the rest of the year.

And why should I care, either? I just wanted to point out that it will get shared. And, allow me to elaborate a bit, my previous message is likely to come off as "bad": I'm not posting lossless here because there are what I perceive as arrogant folks, who give way too much importance to stuff like LOG, AccurateRip... all things which... in the case of Silent Bomber... I can't provide anymore. Made a .cue/.wav rip months ago, in the meantime I've used the CD... and now the likes of Exact Audio Copy report errors in a few tracks, when trying to rip. So, yeah, make of this what you will.

I hope you'll forgive the existence of folks like me, who still like to play their CDs and not jerk off to matching CRCs in .log files.

Dude I'm like that too! Who gives a fuck? For every one person that's bitching about some pedantic, finicky-ass thing you did with your rip that they didn't like, there are 10 people who are thanking you. Post the soundtrack in lossless and watch how many likes you get. Just humor me, seriously.

The reason I don't share here anymore is not because there are assholes that post here (it's because I don't want to play the fileshost/deleted file game). Dude, there are assholes that post EVERYWHERE. It's the INTERNET. If people being assholes are the only reason you're not going to do something, you life is going to crumble, because assholes are going to bring you down EVERYWHERE. Take it from me, I've left sites I loved for months because I thought people were assholes there, and all I realized after months was that I lost my time there.

You can share your MP3 encode and get some pretty standard appreciation for it, or you can share it in lossless and get epic appreciation for it, like Simon did for Cyber Org. If somebody heckles you for doing a range rip or whatever the fuck else, IGNORE HIM. Or, flame him (it's fun).

I'd be over the moon to get any kind of encode of Silent Bomber, been my top wishlist soundtrack for a long time. Only wish i can buy it some day.

I want to point something out about the way I rip. I'm not pointing it out to claim any superiority, I just think it's worth mentioning. I never rip with the settings you see in my logs. I don't use Accuraterip, I don't use the CUETools plugin, +30 isn't the only offset I ever use, and sometimes I don't even bother to fill out the track names in EAC and rip Track01 and such to the log file.

The reason I'm doing all that stuff here: because I think the largest amount people will appreciate it. If I'm going to share something to a community of people but nobody's really going to like what I'm sharing, then why would I share it? It's really no big deal to change your settings around to accommodate the people you're sharing for. The rip isn't for me, it's for them. I have my own rip on my hard drive, the way I like it, with whatever offset I needed to get all the samples with, and without Accuraterip telling me the whole rip is inaccurate because somebody submitted inaccurate results to compare my accurate results to. I can spend a little bit of time to produce a rip that far, far more people are going to appreciate. I don't have my pride and I don't feel the need to be stubborn in my ways just because I think they're "right" or "better" than settings other people like.

Of course, I realize people don't want to spend the time to do a second rip. That's totally understandable. I don't expect anyone to accommodate others with EAC settings. The way a person rips is the way a person rips; if they want to do a range rip in burst mode, that's fine, at least we're getting something with the full range of frequency at the end of the day.

I'd sure like to waste hours uploading stuff to get folks complaining about my drive having an offset of "594", or the rip not being done through Exact Audio Copy. Yep, I did, and people didn't even have the balls to complain about the flaws with my Kessen II rip publicly, nope, for stuff like that there are private messages. Oh, well, at least I've said such scum what I think of them. God bless private messages and them being in grey-zones, in regards to rules. Not that it really matters, now such folks prefer to mostly lurk this place. I still see the random going anal about Range/separate tracks rips, around here, and while I understand I can't change his/her attitude... I'm pretty positive that a rarity like Silent Bomber would attract anyone's attention.

No man, can't even buy from German, French, British or any other Amazon with US address. Amazon doesn't ship internationally, that's how it is for everyone. Well maybe there are some things (that nobody cares about) that do get shipped internationally, but stuff like CDs/DVDs/Blurays/books/games/etc do not.

The other exception is if you're buying from a third-party seller on Amazon and the seller ships internationally. This is often specified in the seller's username in parentheses or something. The shipping is also extremely expensive, usually around 2000 yen, and I can often get it cheaper using a middleman service even after all their commission. But there are sellers that offer that service if you want the item without the hassle of going through somebody else.

I know about eight people that have been looking for that particular soundtrack, and they in turn know a certain amount that have also been looking for it. From the ones I know, one was close to getting a copy, but he was like the third in line or something for it and someone else bought it before him. Other than that, I've never seen it for sale anywhere, although I seldom look for it nowadays to be honest.

If you want to share the music, then fucking share it. If you don't, then quit talking about how you have it but you don't want to give it out. Stop complaining about the fucking leechers, yes they're annoying, but if you don't want to fulfill their request then ignore it and don't. Your primary reason for sharing here should be to give back to the people who have given you music you love, in hopes that you're delivering music that they will themselves love. It's about the goddamn music and enjoyment of said music. These circlejerk traders that hold scores at ransom in order to get shit from other faggots holding shit as ransom are fucking idiots. You're not doing anyone any favors, and you're just besmirching the name of sharing.

Blah Blah Blah it's illegal. We know. We don't care. In some cases it's justified that we're downloading. The price from some Wapanese collector for an over-inflated price is stupid and annoying, and in quite a few cases these things are very rare and long out of print. Yes, you may find a copy on playasia or something. Yes if you love it then you should buy it. But giving some otaku collector $133 does not benefit the artist in any way. Atleast if you stick to the principle of sharing being for the pure enjoyment of said music then you have some sort of noble stance in your reasoning.

We are. But this is the lossless thread. If you aren't going to post it in lossless (assuming the requester isn't ok with MP3), then there's no reason to post it. Yes, cue's, log's, etc. are very nice but they are by no means required. However, if you're going to go out of your way to rip or upload, and you happen to have, or could generate, a log/cue, then why the hell wouldn't you? It's 2 seconds of your time added on to an already large task. And as far as I've seen in this thread, there's been 0 complaints from the lack of a log/cue file.

Now stfu and get back to sharing lossless music for the purpose of sharing musical enjoyment with others.

The thing is, to maintain balance in the universe the good and evil must coexist with each other. As long as there's one, there will be the other.

I very much want to agree with what Zetto is saying, and for the most part I honestly do - uploading ripped/copyrighted stuff for personal financial gain is not right, and yes it is immoral. But I guess the easiest way to put it is that there are different levels of immoral, one is worse than the other. Because if there isn't than Executable belongs in the same crowd as Jessie, and they all assholes, and I don't think Jessie is an asshole. And so is myself partially guilty of the same crime. Difference is Jessie was putting money earned from uploading personal rips and purchases into purchasing more soundtrack and further uploading them here, so it was for the greater good so to speak. While I doubt Executable has ever spent a penny on any stuff that he uploaded here, it is all downloaded from someone somewhere on the web, and making money that way to pay for your internet bill is immoral no matter how much subjectively or objectively you want to look at it.
And myself, well I never actually made any money from it but I was close to it: almost got the first $10 from Fileserve right before the whole file sharing crisis went down and sites like Filserve was canceling everyone's accounts left and right. Was it late 2011 or early 2012, not sure, but I decided to give it a shot a bit too late. Maybe it's a good thing that nothing ever came out from it.

Anyway, the point is - nobody's perfect. And yes a lot of issues can be brushed of by calling them subjective or justifying someone's actions with memes like "Haters gonna hate". There are different types of assholishness, and you gotta look a little bit deeper to see who is more of an asshole and who is not.

Back to the balance of good & evil, for what it's worth I very much respect Zetto's outlook on sharing. Even though from talking to him I think his views are a bit too idealistic, I am genuinely glad that there are people who think that way. Also he pursues an extreme goal of sharing albums that were long out of print and in some cases are are as shit, he wants to make them publicly available for a bigger audience, in a lossless format, gaining nothing from it. Isn't he a fucking hater.

They're not the original soundtracks, so just having "Ar Tonelico" is slightly misleading (though technically accurate, I suppose). Also, in some places you have (Mirror), like in Final Fantasy & Final Fantasy II, for example. That's not actually a mirror. I uploaded my own rip, and Executable uploaded a different one. Maybe (Alternate) would be better text. Plus I don't want to think that somebody who is sharing for money is mirroring my rips and trying to make money off them - okay, I'll stop, it was a joke anyway. I don't care. But mirror would suggest something that it's not.

It is a tad incorrect to say that it is illegal to download copyrighted material. It is of course infringement on the rights of the copyright owner but it is not illegal in the sense that it is not criminal unless you are profiting from it. If someone wants to go after you for downloading, it has to be the copyright owners themselves, which makes it quite difficult to enforce and unlikely that any one individual will become a target. The reason the internet is so game changing is that you now have vast numbers of people sharing to share and not sharing for a profit. Those who make a profit are usually targeted and made an example of (big hosters, major torrent sites, etc.)

I pretty much feel the same way as zetto, i've never uploaded nor do i ever intend to upload for my own gain, i upload specifically for letting others experience new horizons, and new experiences, that and the fact that i have lived in the poorest of situations (how many people can say that they had to use milk crates as chairs in the past), i know what it can be like to not be able to be in a situation to experience such things, as such you learn pretty quick how much money should never get in the way of generosity and helping others.

I only stopped/rarely upload due to my health issues, however i will upload something to help this thread, though i cannot promise it will not be a reupload.

OST + Gamerip have now been reuploaded back in their original thread (Thread 85304). I found the gamerip so it was not lost after all. Also found and posted a quick guide on how the gamerip was done, it was not a line-in/capture rip by the way, it was directly converted from game's raw/stream files. Tools needed were posted as well.

Great, I only have one question then - why the hell are you giving shit to leechers, if they are the ones who will be clicking your links and making you the moneyz for the Snickerses? Is it maybe because you thought that being a leecher is immoral? Ironically the keyword here is immoral. Or what else could it be? I think you just felt like chewing someone's ass for the sake of boosting your own ego or something. Well guess what - if you gonna burn someone, be ready to get burned. Your whole game of "leechers = bad" but "upload stuff for money = good" crumbles rather fast because the financial success here depends solely on the leechers.

And yes there's nothing wrong with downloading and archiving someone's else's uploads, but what is wrong is making profit of it when those aren't even your own rips and they were meant to be shared for free in the first place.

Because some filehosts come up with some strange rules regarding archive files in particular, I removed the file extension from the archive so that it won't fall under any such restrictions. To use the file easily, simply add .rar to the end of the filename. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience, but I thought it was better than being limited in the future.

I'm guessing nobody would notice this, but the LOGs indicate that the CUETools DB Plugin results have already been submitted to the database, unlike my previous logs. This is because, several months ago, I ripped this soundtrack in this fashion for a friend, along with the two Tengai Makyou IV albums I own.

On that note, would anybody be interested in Tengai Makyou IV? I have the 2-disc soundtrack and the vocal selection CD. I got them both from a seller on eBay for something like $110 (before shipping) quite a few years ago, with the CDs in mint condition. Tengai Makyou is a pretty obscure series and its music may not have the biggest demand, but if there are fans of it here, I'm happy to share.

On another topic, I have a 20 gigabyte collection of extremely rare Umineko stuff I've scrounged over the years, some of it is only in my possession because I've imported the CD myself and ripped it out of sheer luck finding it on Surugaya or something. Since there's no 'visual novels' section for putting music, does this go in the anime or the videogame section? The reason I ask is because there are plenty of lossless OST collections here that are of a visual novel that was on a console, and Umineko does count, but I'm still not entirely sure.
