What's on this one? Ys II, and the little-known "Aztec II ~ Temple of the Sun."

What makes this soundtrack special is that the versions you hear on this disc are not found anywhere else. The Sega Saturn synth manipulation for Ys II is especially interesting for fans who are used to getting extremes in one direction or the other (live performances vs. PC-88 synth).

Yeah ! My copy of FFVI Remaster just arrived in Roissi, France. I chose medium-low cost delivery, that's why it took 17(!) days to get from Japan to my country, soon I'll have it in my hands along with FFIV and FFV remaster ^_^

Thanks again to the one (forgot who) who shared them in lossless :3, it made my wait easier !

I'm sure this isn't that hard to find, but since it's not in the OP I'll post it anyway.
It's also one of the best soundtracks in Falcom history, which is saying a lot. Not THE best, but up there.

I already demuxed the files (they are actually videos with HQ audio) and added them to flac files. The quality of the music is 96KHz/24Bit. I'm currently uploading them. I will most likely put them tomorrow.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but CD quality will always be 44100 Hz, and only 16 Bit .. Vinyl on the other hand can exceed the 16 Bit .. So creating flac files under 24Bit while the CD only produces up to 16 Bit .. hmmmm .. maybe they actually came out with a 24 Bit CD ? .. I've always known CD's to be only 16 Bit.

It's not a CD, is a Blu-ray disc.

As I said on a previous post, I didn't encode anything, used Anydvd HD to decrypt the BD, TSmuxer to demux the files, and finally put the .wavs on the flac containers.

Check these images, in the third one it says the quality of the music files. On the last image you can see the mediainfo of the file directly playing from the BD disc.

I have the CD but it didn't come with the DVD. I think the DVD contains speedruns from members of the staff so I'm still trying to hunt it down... last I checked on Yahoo Japan it went for surprisingly high prices (as is the way with Umihara Kawase stuff - people fall hard for this series). That would be a QX100, you can get one from sony store. The camera has both sensor and lens from a Mark II (Which means no flash and still nice photos on low light without going DSLR). You require either an android device with wireless or an iPhone to operate it.

I'm selfish so I generally only upload albums/game osts I actually like. I upload too slowly to do anything else.

That said, good news! I may have just acquired Ys Zanmai and Falcom Boss Zanmai in WAV without having to import the damn things myself. Judging from SPEK they both seem to be legitimate and tags indicate they used EAC. No log files though, so I can't be 100% sure.

I thought these 2's rips were gone forever, but they were just hiding. First one comes first, I'll upload #2 next!

The most annoying part about the roughly 30 gigabytes of Falcom stuff I've uploaded in the last month was fixing all the mojibake because the Chinese are terrible at encoding and tagging shit (and since they love hoarding lossless videogame music, their side of the internet is the place to go). Pretty much every single download I've posted was re-7zipped after I opened it and fixed all the track names and corrected the cue file path.

edit: Thanks, by the way. It's mostly for myself, I only share these CDs because they hold my personal interest and I want other people to listen to them too. I've been skipping all the CDs that have duplicate music on them or reprints and CDs I don't particularly care about regarding Falcom.

Oh I know all about that. It's a royal pain to fix and tag everything properly when you get Chinese, Japanese, Korean or wherever else downloads. I love it when 90% of the tracks are gibberish. One reason to like Falcom music all the more though. Half of their songs are already in "english" so that's less tagging to be done. I wouldn't even dream of correcting such titles as "The Morning Grow". Anyway, I appreciate the time that takes so thanks again.

How am I supposed to open the music part of this download? The only things I keep getting are "CDImage" files (one .Cue, on .Tak), pictures, and a text document which I can't read.

How am I supposed to open the music part of this download? The only things I keep getting are "CDImage" files (one .Cue, on .Tak), pictures, and a text document which I can't read.

I'm pretty sure you can decode the TAK file with this (http://thbeck.de/Download/TAK_2.3.0.zip).

.tak is lossless format. must convert for flac (or extract for tracked flac). i am not sure can cuetools open .tak.

I can't read that noise but Baidu is a pretty great service, even for foreigners.
High-ish storage limits and pretty decent DL speeds for foreigners.
And by decent, I mean Pre-Mega speeds, when we were all struggling to find a prime host site post-megaupload shutdown.

Also if you have an account there you can delegate HTTP(S) or torrent downloads so their servers do all the fetching for you. Works pretty well when some links are slower with own machine and you'd like some proxying.

"Unable to read beyond the end of the stream" is a C# exception and therefore comes from CUETools (and not from TAK). Make sure you're using a recent version of CUETools and the TAK package (2.3.0 at the moment). If the error persists, then report a bug to the CUETools team.

Just because you don't know how to do it, doesn't mean it does not work. There is a documentation for CUETools, you just have to read it. And yes, it is all there:

And the template for takc is already there, you just have to make sure that it has the correct path to the executable. You make it sound like it's some complicated thing to do, writing a script on your own, or something. This simply isn't the case.

GOD HAND Complete Soundtrack (Jukebox) [FLAC/Lossless] [Game Rip]


This is it - I tried my best to pull out the definitive version of this kick-ass soundtrack. Not only it is one of the most memorable and eccentric OSTs I have ever heard, but it is possibly Masafumi Takada's best work to date. Unfortunately, a proper complete release doesn't exist. Even the promo disc that came with the Japanese version of the game excluded most of the tracks, even some of the better ones, and the tracks present sometimes finished playing too early, where not long enough or had no loop at all. With this release, I tried to make every single track count, everything was looped when it needed to, and when a track was long and developed surpassing the 3 minute mark, I gave it only a 10 minute smooth fade. Very minor pops and click were removed for a better listening experience. The quality is the highest you can get from the game itself, which sounded extremely good. I extracted, converted and edited the 48khz ADX files and converted them all in FLAC for better convenience. The tracks are all split according to the Jukebox Discs List found in the game. I also made 2 custom cover arts just for fun. Enjoy and don't forget... DRAGON KICK YOUR ASS INTO THE MILKY WAY!!!

Ys V is interesting, because while it's the real black sheep of the franchise it also has a really interesting setting and goes with orchestral style music rather than the fiery rock Falcom's known for. It's still really good, though. That said, this full orchestral CD is awesome, since the original game was SNES.

You mean the Wii U Wind Waker HD limited edition comes with the soundtrack if registered? I recently bought that same set and I didn't know that (and money is tight now because of it). Well I don't know if I could get it this month or even next month (since it's in limited supply on eBay). Perhaps I'll look up that registration thing and see if i could get a copy that way (or maybe you are referring to the Japanese club reward and I presume you have an account there). I just might get the original soundtrack instead if I don't make up my mind soon (I also want to get Lightning's Return soundtrack when it comes out).

Honestly I can't tell a difference. My gf has been playing Wind Waker HD, and I have the original soundtrack to the GC game, and I can't tell a difference. Who knows maybe the HD one might have some arrangement tracks on it?

I played the WWHD and i can say the music has been remastered I could definitely hear a difference especially with Makar & Medli's song

Hmm? The HD version's music sounds great! I could tell the difference between the music right away. Especially Windfall Island's music. I'm on the 2nd playthrough, and the music sounds so much better re-orchestrated. It's not just a slight difference believe me. If someone could get the HD Sound Selection and rip it, that would be awesome.

60: Contains sound effect of Zero's energy bar filling up
Missing "Get a Weapon" theme from Rockman X2
Missing "Cain's Lab" theme from Rockman X2, which is really a loop of "Opening"

1: Contains sound effects (intro text scrolling)
2: Contains title screen sound effects
7: Contains boss thunder sound effect
13: Contains sound effect of Rockman teleporting in
16: Missing drum intro
Missing SNES "Get a Weapon" and "Dr. Cain" themes

There was something mentioned somewhere (with regards to the TEAM Entertainment release of Rockman 7) that a lot of the original material and/or equipment used for SNES tracks has been lost, so Rockman X1-X3 having this many problems is somewhat understandable.

In addition to the examples cited in the post I've quoted, it should also be noted that the Rockman X8 OST (http://vgmdb.net/album/3123) is missing all of the cutscene music. Even the rare Rockman X8 e-Capcom Original Special Sound CD (http://vgmdb.net/album/13936) contains only some of the cutscene music, not all. Hopefully the RMX Sound Box will have all of them.

Thats around 130 USD .. it depends honestly. My B-Day is on the 1st of Dec, although I rarely get anything for my birthday anymore. So I might go for it, but who knows.. I might have to shoot for January for month to order it.

Falcom Field Zanmai comes out tomorrow for commercial release. Waiting warmly in case someone preordered it.
