Dragon Spirit - Emotional Sound of Namcot - https://vgmdb.net/album/3931

Also either of these albums from Death Crimson would be really cool. I'm going to share the itunes one sooner or later.

If nobody want to put all the effort to make another whole website, even as simple as you can think it should be, then more or less: no. Or we all hijack some asian places or something... (hell, no).
Gathering people isn't the problem though, it's the links posted for illegal material.

Easier to fix the current website than make another one from scratch. Mainly because it's popping a lot in Google when searching for OSTs. This ensures there's a steady stream of new people, some of them later becoming valuable contributors. It shouldn't take much to ensure FFS's continued existence.
1) Look into the current hosting issues, figure out what's causing the outage and what's required to fix it. Start a donation drive if necessary, but it should be strictly voluntary and transparent, unlike the last time when the site was basically taken hostage.
2) Pick some new moderators to keep various threads organized and updated. At the moment, it's a total anarchy, with only Leon occasionally showing up to jerk people around. FFS should be run be people who cherish it, who have both time and motivation to keep it going.

Not going much against what you say, but I was stating this taking into account the "nearly nothing concerning FFS will change whatsoever" situation.
And your point 2) (with a mitigation on what Leon is doing, he can be a jerk but most of the time it doesn't matter) aligns exactly with what I said.
The way a place works is important, but it's the people that makes it real. They're the fundamental part of the whole machine (including the mods & co first, obviously).
But trying hard to get more people to jump into a not stable and more or less unkempt boat won't work. And that's in what state actually FFS is more or less.

Hence this fantastical idea of a "new place", and my answer. /off-thread

INB4 EDIT: and of course, just when I'm about to post this.... "DATABASE ERROR" ... Because why not making my point even more blatant XD

Care to say hello or something, for a first post?
Then maybe try being more specific about "what" links are apparently dead?
Like, naming the soundtracks you're referring to or something...?

You're missing the point, nothing is going to change. Unless I'm mistaken, Leon and Jessie are the only mod/admin left, and they certainly don't have that level of control. But either way, Sarah is not going to improve things. If you want things to be better, you're going to have to start it yourself, somewhere else. If you're just looking for a better updated list, then my suggestion of pastebin/a google doc/spreadsheet still stands. If you're looking for a better site/community, then you're going to have to make it yourself. Especially if you're seeking some sort of refugee center for when the fat hits the fire. Which Gravitek/VGMtaku demonstrated didn't really work out. It'd be one thing if the entirety of the lossless VGM thread group moved, but that isn't likely to happen. Also a number of members from that time have now gone, as mentioned a few pages ago, plus a number of others.

Though there was that 8chan board that Vegeta(?) set up. Can't remember the URL for it...
Edit: seems it's this https://8ch.net/ffshrine/index.html. Good luck cleaning that up for use.

@Despair
(Don't quote me saying I'm missing the point when I'm saying exactly said point, in quotation mark even ='3)
This place is only stuck in time, but not eternal either. It's up to the people in it to do whatever they want with it, is all.

As for the pastebin/doc/whatever-compiled-page, it's nice and all, only... If the original point was forcing people to
register and then have access to the links, making copying all links available a pain to do, placing every links in one
file would backfire that idea in seconds.
Now, doing that would offer more chances to have said links flagged and delisted by the hosting cloud services
involved. But again, that's just an after-effect... As nothing is secure with any of them in any situation in the end.
It's just a big guess though, obviously.

Nice little... trivia with that 8chan link. Not like it was useful apparently ( >_>)
I wouldn't touch this kind of places by miles though.

I made a subreddit for the shrine, but mostly just to gather when the site is down and get notified of when it's back up. I don't imagine reddit would work to well as a replacement, they're far to big and moderated. :/

I'm going to address/confirm/offer my two cents on a few things:

I'm not surprised the alternatives to the Shrine (that turned up when some shady shit with this site's donations got brought to the light, among other things) bit the bullet. Final Fantasy Shrine is an "anomaly", so to speak; I'm surprised this place hasn't been closed, yet (by corporations/S.H./etcetera). Seen my fair share of communities similar to this one end up closed, in the sixteen years I've been surfing the Internet… And those places didn't even have MP3 files directly hosted and downloadable on their domains (unlike Shrine's own Galbadia Hotel). Sorry for going off on a tangent there, couldn't help it; back to the Shrine's failed replacements: I'll admit I don't know, nor do I care for the actual reasons behind their closure, but they saved themselves from a shitload of troubles, in the long run.
To those thinking of setting up shop somewhere else, are you ready to take up on the potential risks that come with doing so? Let's assume one of you sets up a new domain, you'll be the one targeted by the "copyright police", you'll be the one risking legal rape. You'd do well to not forget that, before making a decision.

Despair already said it, but just to confirm, neither Jessie or I have the privileges required to do anything about the technical issues plaguing this place. That's up to the actual owner of FFShrine (Sarah), who I might add showed up in the "list of active users" not too long ago… As to what she did, your guess is as good as mine. Nevertheless, I'm fairly sure she has been active before this place got compromised by that nasty fake script, so, I can venture a guess she was trying to look into the root cause of database errors. Lastly, as the owner of this place, Sarah can do whatever she wants with it… If she feels like closing the forum whenever there's a need to ask for donations, it's totally within her right to do so. Don't like it? Fair, but it's your problem.

2) A) Pick some new moderators to keep various threads organized and updated. B) At the moment, it's a total anarchy, with only Leon occasionally showing up to jerk people around. C) FFS should be run be people who cherish it, who have both time and motivation to keep it going.
A) Sorry to break it to you, but that's not a moderator's job (nor that of any other member of the Staff). We are tasked with stuff like: making sure threads+posts are in the correct places, not maintaining lists in a thread such as this one.

B) About the bit in bold text, I'm afraid that would be far too pleasurable on the receiver's end, still, I don't swing that way and I'd rather finger. Seriously, though, what do you expect me to be? I can't help being harsh, given what I witness, I'll let you in on some of it:

- Folks that should know very well what can and cannot be posted by now (in virtue of their Join Date), yet they have the gall to question their ban. Oh, you forgot about it? Just returned after months of inactivity around these parts? None of my concern, the Sticky thread informing users of what constitutes forbidden material remained exactly where it was when "you" left… You can't blame me when you've been the irresponsible users who didn't review/refresh their memory on certain things. Your fault, not mine.

- On a side note, this happens to be my personal favourite, because it's almost Darwin award material: "I know Varse Sarabande/Film Score Monthly/etcetera is forbidden," "I know we shouldn't ask for BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL material,"… Why, then, fucking why? Just. Why?! If you know you shouldn't do this sort of stuff, why the fuck do you do it? Are you idiots? Don't you care? If that's the case, then why should I care about kicking you out of here permanently?!

C) Awwww, I can almost see them: the rainbows, the flying unicorns… Do you even listen to yourself? I mean, oh, gawd. This place is still online, ain't it? Someone obviously cares enough to pay the bills. Also, as far as I'm concerned, while it's true that I won't shed a tear over the eventual "death" of this place (not something born out of a dislike, it's just that I buy music and I do happen to prefer official releases over game-rips as listening experiences, so… I can't lament the loss of something which has no utility for me), I gave my word to Jessie that I would help him keeping some semblance of order around here and whether you like it or not, that's exactly what I've been doing. This isn't the first place of this kind that I moderate, it's just that the Shrine has been way too "soft" on you, community.

This isn't really connected to what I said above, but I might as well give some of you a history lesson, maybe it will help you understand why I do happen to be as much of a jerk. I'll start from the beginning: years ago (around the time when the first iteration of this thread was just created) there was also a Lossless thread for Movies/Television series' scores and soundtracks; one of the users browsing that thread obviously had difficulties with the English language, now, three-four contributors of that thread — instead of doing the smart thing and ignore that guy, made fun of him and they took things too far. What did this lead to? That guy wrote to a few labels, that's how we ended up with a couple of entries added to the forbidden list (more prominently, the Varse Sarabande label, which I should also state has published a few video game soundtracks).
Things have been kinda good for a while, the Shrine tolerated threads where folks would state: "this is Varse/FSM, so PM me if you want it," but it didn't last long. Varse Sarabande came back to have a second talk with the Staff team, so to speak, and no threads about that label's releases could be created. In case you haven't guessed it, the Shrine has seriously been treading on thin ice, I won't tolerate behaviour that endangers it. I don't give a damn if I happen to axe a huge contributor to the Shrine, in the meantime, folks.
I know that at least a few of you have this wholly idiotic conviction that I do whatever the fuck I want, but that's not the case, what proof do you have of it? Well, this thread, for instance, is still standing and you still have access to your accounts.

Small trivial information: this attitude of mine? I've always been like this, even in the 9-10 years before I became a moderator. Think about it for a while, I was made a moderator… Maybe, just maybe someone else in the Staff is okay with the way I handle things.

That's speech for sure. I understand what you are trying to say. You're not a jerk, it is just us who doesn't pay attention to what we have to do. We certainly should ask you the right question in order to avoid conflict but that's not gonna happen anytime soon. I'm aware of how this site is ruinning. As a member who contribute a lot to this place and especially to the request thread i've seen a lot of people not paying attention to the forbidden material and to the rules, they should be redirected to a thread with the rules and MUST READ IT. (With a poll to fill)

And for the time when the site was down. I won't lie but it's not a big deal for me. I can buy music or rip the gamefiles myself :P
I'm not worried about this place. I'm sure it will be here for several years.

More or less, @Leon Scott Kennedy.
So yeah, Amen to that.
Being a mod is a pain in the ass because nobody listen, ever. Even the nice ones.
Like I said, you can be a jerk from time to time (intentionally) but that's just the spice on the cake that was already eaten, so not really relevant in the end.
Being a mod myself for multiple Video Games related forums (officials or not), I can say more or less the same.

I saw a proper website going down so quick that sneezing would be too slow in comparison, just because the owners weren't caring for it for a long while...
Even with all the rights we had, we weren't able to code and change any script in the machine.
Spams were getting rampant, people were asking important questions related to the games involved (backers, even), duplicate threads everywhere...
At some point I was the only one left with the Social Media Spokesperson in there... It was funky as hell.

On whatever forums you'll be, you just need to think of this as the first rule to remember:
People don't read, don't care, or do without even asking first when needed.
And many times, spam is more manageable than people... Not even joking.

Many thanks for all your work.

Enough of that complete nonsense about Bonesatyr's rips not being "shareable": he's not the copyright holder and he most certainly didn't have a hand in the actual creation of the albums he shares; he's just another small fry that rips and occasionally scans. To make a long story short, he gets no saying in what others can, or cannot do with his rips.

If any of you got a hold of something and feel like sharing, go ahead, Bonesatyr most definitely isn't in the position to do anything about it.

I mean, look at what a few of you (yeah, I remember reading some pretty idiotic posts from his "accolades" in this thread) do: you're more keen to adhere to the wishes of a goddamn pirate, instead of… You know… The composer(s)' or anyone else that, once again, has actually contributed to the albums you get to store on your hard drives/whatever.
Don't be stupid.

EDIT:
Now, with that out of the way… If you wish to "respect" Bonesatyr's wishes (hahaha, which is goddamn laughable, if you ask me… Is he respecting those guys' work by sharing it illegally? No.), that's your decision and yours alone… I better not read you give crap to someone who happens to share Bone's rips, though… Because I can assure you it won't end well for you.

Chrono Meridian
06-19-2019, 06:57 AM
I think it doesn't really matter to Bonesatyr if ''his'' soundtracks are shared, rather he doesn't want his mega links to be shared.
For a similar reason like, send with a PM for the link, I guess.
Apart from that, all the links that you can find on his Pastebin don't work anymore anyway.

https://pastebin.com/5BQE74d6
Maybe he's got something new, but I haven't followed Bonesatyr on Twitter in a while.

To be honest, I don't even know good enough who that guy is and what's his problem with FFShrine, so I definitely wouldn't be complaining about his rips being shared here either way.
What I meant is that I would understand if some users here would have their reasons to be against sharing "his stuff".
I apologize if I worded my post poorly (and for my ignorance), and thank you for clarifying this.

In short: If you have something great from Bonesatyr, share it with your own link
If he gets that annoyed about that sort of stuff, he might as well quit sharing. Not the first "victim" of that sort of behaviour and he won't be the last (also, while this place has a thread advising users to not repost others' links, I have never actually seen it enforced, so…).

No need to apologize at all, you did nothing wrong. I just wanted to hopefully stop one of his followers from showing up and latch into that. What I'm going to say now is directed mostly at those guys:

The Shrine has its own rules, folks and it doesn't give a fuck about Bonesatyr's. Remember it.

@Jonald
Do you have an Ad Blocker on your browser? If not, it should be the very least to do (uBlock Oriign works fine on Firefox, don't know the alternative over Chrome though).
If you already have one, then find the section where the black listing is, and look at what they say about adding urls in it (generally, you just need to add the url directly in the list).

This is the reason I started to rely on torrents a few years ago. It became obvious that the copyright cartels can take down whatever sites they want at whatever time they want so redundancy is in decentralization.

Trypetide
06-19-2019, 11:47 PM
@VyseLegend
Yep.
That said, torrents are just one part of the equation, as you can still be tracked down with them and/or have trackers taken down too (hello old Nyaa).
but again, nothing dies forever, so apart from a big change in the Netosphere I don't see that kind of event coming soon.

I wouldn't mind "torrenting" too myself if my connection had more dedicated horse power for that... Already a pain to upload stuff "once" with that snail pace of mine.
I know I don't need the quickest bandwidth to be able to share stuff, but I can't let the computer run all the time either.
Buuuut... Maybe that will change at the end of the year though, with all my prayers going towards all the fibre gods~
So that could be something to reconsider then.

VyseLegend
06-20-2019, 01:54 AM
I don't mean to imply that a torrent is foolproof or futureproof, just that its a bit more share-able and easier to decentralize, since anyone can re-post the torrent anywhere and source the data.

Everyone's action are being tracked fully, at all times and for any and all reasons, and all that must happen for you to be charged or incarcerated is to cross paths with the wrong company who owns a given set of politicians, and they will simply find a crime on you 'a la Stasi' - 'if you find me the man, I'll show you the crime.'

So that's why I've never been all that worried about the 'law enformcement' side of things but more the jackbooted takedown element. There is a lot of plausible deniability about data backups that it is rather hard to attain a conviction for something like sharing torrents for your average non-superfat German New Zealander.

Additionally it can even be argued that sharing data often results in increased sales of a given property, but since the copyright cartel is a bully, their mafia job is to extract profits from the citizens based on the fictitious concept of violating 'intellectual property' which has still never been substantiated legally or in any other way - and the restriction of which has been a major road block to the development of either functional security systems/encryption/decentralized internet or innovative technology more broadly.

Hi! :D
I remember someone, and i cant who was it, did uploaded some tracks of the "Wing Commander Orchestral Recording". It was definitly in Wave and it was on this side. Some tracks were poorly fading out like they would been samples.
Here are some of the tracks, but the tracks which were uploaded back then were firstly lossless and also not badly faded out like these samples.

https://soundcloud.com/george-oldziey/sets/wing-commander-orchestral-recording-project-samples

The thing is, either i make a Google Search with this site or i use the internal Search Function, the only thing that comes up about "Wing Commander" is the official Movie Soundtrack from 1999.
But i am 100% sure it was from this site. Someone know what im talking about?

So please help me and upload that again of what you had done in the past. Thank you much in advance.

Hi,

I'm trying to find these albums in FLAC.

✓ ● FAMICOM 20TH ANNIVERSARY ORIGINAL SOUND TRACKS VOL.1 (http://vgmdb.net/album/404) (only the Metroid tracks, 76~87)

✓ ● Game Sound Museum ~Famicom Edition~ 12 Metroid (http://vgmdb.net/album/1433)

Both uploaded by BoneSatyr here (Thread 126974) and here (Thread 189613), but all deleted time ago.

If someone have it, please, I would appreciate it. Thank you very much.

Thanks~

EDIT: someone IS interested, so we can more or less say (RE)QUEST COMPLETED~

I have this rip I found some time ago. The problem is that there was no Log/Cue in the original, but the files seems fine to me. Maybe later someone will post a better version with proper Log/Cue for everyone.

Oh, I think I was wrong when I said the Famicom album was a lossy conversion, my fault. Let me explain.

When I downloaded this one, casually it has the same lossy mastering than the Famicom 20th Anniversary, exactly the same (checked with Adobe Audition and the spectral frequency visor). I thought the Famicom 20th Anniversary from the website above was a lossy conversion, but I downloaded the album again and it's .M4A/ALAC lossless (checked with the MediaInfo software), not .M4A/AAC as I thought at the beginning like the songs from iTunes (my confussion, because both formats are written with the same file type). I checked the rest of the tracks of the Famicom album and they are all real lossless, so the Metroid tracks are the only ones in lossy in both albums ("Famicon" and "Game Sound Museum"). The Game Sound Musem includes the .log ripped with Exact Audio Copy, so it's a legit extraction, and with this I can confirm that the source of the mastering is the same in both albums, and also both are legit lossy (only the Metroid tracks).

My apologies for the confussion, I should have checked the rest of the tracks from the Famicom album at the beginning, not just the Metroid ones, I skipped the entire album and I thought the entire album was lossy, but nope, only the Metroid tracks.

Thank you very much, the request is fulfilled then.

Oh yes, now with this update it's totally precise, thank you very much for the original rip re-upload.

I confirm 100% both Metroid tracks from both albums are legit lossy from the source, so this is the "official" quality from the studio obtained when they burned the album in CD.

I was logged in the forum a while and I was searching FLAC music before on Google. Generally I was looking for all the FLAC music out of a lot of anime OPs and EDs I want to download so I can listen them in High Quality. It's not just OP, it is soundtracks, and also games (why I've been thinking this forum is the right place to request things) but because well, everything is conquered being polite/cool. I saw that the list of everything I have to request is not full because it's the search for High quality 'FLAC' that influence these aspects. Currently I am searching for the Bayonetta 2 Soundtrack but with no loss of audio in True HQ (FLAC), not MP3. I saw it is here in this forum so I am trying to know if this can't be posted because the file in the link was out a long time, so, what to do about it..

Reverse engineering your own website?

Nope, reverse engineering other games, explaining the method and providing tools for it to allow modding or extraction purpose.

You hyped the development of a forum to compete with this one for like a year +

A) "Hyped" and "competing" against this forum would be exaggerating. Back at this time they were a lot people worried about this place, asking for a clone site to emerge. I was interested by it, and as someone that could actually develop a site/forum specifically for OST sharing, I though it would be good idea to do it. It was a project that would be supposed to be "better" than this forum ( of course, the idea was to "fix" the issues of ffshrine, so that would mean to make it "better" in other words ), it didn't worked because of IRL reasons, too bad.

The state of FFshrine ( while still being up ) is clearly old, very old ( this was the start of this discussion 2 pages earlier ), and there is no arrogance or malicious attempt to admit it.

then disappeared off the map, worried about Japan punishing you

B) Sorry to close a new forum sharing japanese OST while also starting to work for a japanese video game company.....I'm pretty sure you (or everyone else here ) would have done the same.

and now just lurking for steam OSTs.

C) You could have least read what I wrote ?
I know, I wanted to get those ones specifically:, those CD aren't the one in Steam, and it's hard to find them ( well since, I found one at amazon ).
If you hate me, fine, but don't spread lies.

You should be banned. Your sense of arrogance is off the charts.

D) That's pretty ironic don't you think ? Don't you have the impression that you are the only one being arrogant here ? You are the one actually starting a drama for.............nothing actually, I doubt that anyone here does care about this anymore. If you want me to get banned because I tried to find a solution of the multiples issues that the FFshrine forum got back in the days ( 4 years ago ) and failed, then be it.

He wanted us all to abandon ffshrine and migrate to his site and used ffshrine's possibility to kick the bucket as a reason.

I think you guys totally forgot what happened, it wasn't me that decided out of nowhere to force every users to move out. It was the users that was asking for a clone site ( a lot of them ), and me agreeing that a newer site should emerge for fixing those issues.

How ironic that his site was the one that went down.

\_(ツ)_/ To be honest, there is a lot of alternatives sites now ( for each OST sections: movies, anime etc... even including legal ones ).

------------------------------------------------

I should stop now, it's not the purpose of this thread to come here talking about things that most of you totally forgot or doesn't even care to check the veracity. I tried the best that I can to not pollute this thread with this discussion ( In fact, I shouldn't even have posted anything, I'm starting to realize that it's better to let people imagine things instead of trying to explain what really happened.... ).

"Sorry guy, I can't manage the site anymore until at least an unknown period of time (or ever) for personal reasons. I'm sure you'll be disappointed and I'll accept the blame fully. Sorry folks~"
Or something akin to that, and it would have suffice I guess? I don't know if you told people over your website at some point though, just chiming this in from a FFS perspective.
Maybe someone could have managed to get the forums up while managing them in the time you weren't there at the very least... Welp, that's your website so, you're the chief there.

I understand the salty taste from this whole ordeal from the people here though, as having a proper place disappear just like that was surely a certain loss.
At least you tried something, more or less.

"reverse engineering" games, Huh?
I guess for making better ports or something (for a french studio too)?
Whatever the case, nice for you~

I don't disagree with anything you've said. Nonetheless, your failure to complete the project and leave it hanging like that, only to explain it in brief passing while asking for obscure/rare OSTs again on here, is kind of like the flag bearer running away with the flag during a major battle, and then showing up once the smoke clears 2 years later and asking for some of the apples growing off the land we defended.

You're not going to get banned because you post so little that it would be practically impossible to be caught breaking the rules, eh?

You even say that you worked at Japanese video game company, the same people who you might presumably be hurting financially by running these types of forums…now let that sink in. If you want to take some kind of stand, you seem to have failed on both counts.

At least I succeeded in getting some full sentences out of you, lol.

Since you're so elusive, I spent some time investigating and found your secret identity; can confirm?

I've really got to make sure I fetch their Ace Combat collection (Thread 126974) next opportunity I get, especially as even physical copies such as for Ace Combat 2, Assault Horizon & Infinity are far out of my reach (Hopefully Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown shall get an equally wholesome physical release & be as convenient to import as it's PlayStation 2 predecessors seem to remain).

Ah, that's the stuff!

And to add to "That Good Indie Stuff!", Andrew Hulshult's soundtrack for AMID EVIL's been released with a 24bit 44.1KHz release via his Bandcamp (https://andrewhulshult.bandcamp.com/album/amid-evil-original-game-soundtrack) (Myrkul's got the 16bit version from Deezer here: Thread 233988). I can also strongly recommend his music for DUSK (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKCrkg7Kcdc) too (Also available in 24bit 44.1KHz with a 16bit one from Myrkul (Thread 228499)).

On my end, my copies of Team Sonic Racing Original Soundtrack & Jen Senoue's THE WORKS III just arrived, and I shall be giving the latter a good rip soon as I can, with CD copies of nu-DOOM & Yooka-Laylee on their way.

My collector’s edition of Battle Garegga Rev. 2016 from LimitedRunGames is coming in July and will have both a CD and Vinyl soundtrack. I also ordered Freedom Planet’s collector’s edition that comes with a 3CD soundtrack as well (hopefully it won’t be like the IndieBox release). If there’s any others you want to see me try and get from LimitedRunGames don’t hesitate to ask me in PM’s

Basically for freedom planet is that it comes with a Sega Genesis style clamshell case, the soundtrack, and a poster for the LimitedRunGames release. It’s pretty neat and for the asking price I couldn’t say no. Plus I never played Freedom Planet before

Although a DRM-Free PC copy for Freedom Planet as GOG provides was my first choice (It has goodies like artwork too), I'm certainly tempted to fetch the PlayStation 4 copy (https://limitedrungames.com/products/limited-run-262-freedom-planet-deluxe-edition-ps4) still available (I could really do with a PS4 by now with Hokuto ga Gotoku/Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, Sonic Mania Plus Limited Edition and the included Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War with the Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition sitting around waiting to be played among the myriad of other system-specific titles for me to fetch) since the Nintendo Switch copy very quickly sold out (And this this mega bundle (https://limitedrungames.com/collections/neo-frontpage/products/june-21st-mega-bundle) just did too), and I don't have a Switch either.

But the soundtrack has been available in digital lossless via BandCamp (https://galaxytrail.bandcamp.com/album/freedom-planet-official-soundtrack) for a long time and I am not equipped to scan CD materials, so perhaps it's something I should let somebody else fetch for themselves. It's definitely a game I remain keen to play some day (Although I need to brush up on my Green Hill Zone & beyond, since I haven't had hands-on with a Sonic game since giving Green Hill Zone a try 20 years ago).

And in the meantime, this fellow (Thread 234112) was much faster than I on giving THE WORKS III a rip (Also has I & II). I still intend to carry out mine when possible as I'm keen to have it compliment my own Sonic Mania Plus collection (Thread 225984).

Same as I always do, along with whatever else I can give them too. Looks like Ashram's very nicely covered scans for both THE WORKS III & Team Sonic Racing's soundtracks (Assuming 'DXAshram' on VGMDB is the same person), just as v1le has for THE WORKS & THE WORKS II also for VGMDB, so I won't have to worry about coming up short on that.
I haven't been able to track down very much official/staff imagery/artwork for Team Sonic Racing, so I don't see myself getting as utterly carried away as I did for Sonic Mania Plus (It did lead me down a fantastic path of fan-art though) nor as held up making my own attempts of translation/corroboration as JUDGE EYES:死神の遺言 had me.

Finally got this one up. Also added in an additional update to my Sonic Mania Plus Limited Edition Collection (Thread 126974) with the Special Remix tracks standalone, corrected tags for the FLAC link and a new model sheet (https://twitter.com/tyson_hesse/status/1144038628986884107) that got author-released a few days back (Also helped me narrowly avoid uploading THE WORKS III with a widespread typo in the tags/metadata too).

I'll be cracking at Team Sonic Racing's soundtrack when I can. In the meantime, Ashram has a copy ripped to FLAC (Thread 233500) with their own Booklet Scans provided to VGMDB and, for the interested, Tyson Hesse released the full character model sheets (https://twitter.com/tyson_hesse/status/1144046324175663104) for Team Sonic Racing Overdrive, which Sonic Retro (https://info.sonicretro.org/File:TSRO_Model_Cast.jpg) has the full resolution for since Twitter won't seem to let me at it. Plus, my copies of Yooka Laylee & nu-DOOM's soundtracks have arrived, so I'll be cracking at them sometime after.

THE WORKS III {WWCE-31429}

WAV & FLAC formats ripped via Exact Audio Copy. M4A format created by conversion from WAV files via dBpoweramp.
Includes .log & .cue data as well as thorough tagging/metadata via dbpoweramp & foobar2000, CD scans by DXAshram for VGMDB,
along with a Full Staff Credits text file based on CD case credits & available information.

For the full collection, Ashram has THE WORKS I-III ripped to FLAC here (Thread 234112).

Finally got this one up. Also added in an additional update to my Sonic Mania Plus Limited Edition Collection (Thread 126974) with the Special Remix tracks standalone, corrected tags for the FLAC link and a new model sheet (https://twitter.com/tyson_hesse/status/1144038628986884107) that got author-released a few days back (Also helped me narrowly avoid uploading THE WORKS III with some widespread typos in the tags/metadata too).

I'll be cracking at Team Sonic Racing's soundtrack when I can (In the meantime for the interested, Tyson Hesse released the full character model sheets (https://twitter.com/tyson_hesse/status/1144046324175663104) for Team Sonic Racing Overdrive, which Sonic Retro (https://info.sonicretro.org/File:TSRO_Model_Cast.jpg) has the full resolution for since Twitter won't seem to let me at it).

Thank you SO much from the bottom of my heart for the 100% log and cue with your rip! I'm looking forward to your Team Sonic Racing rip as well!

My friend received his copy but he apparently he doesn't have any other CDs handy meaning he can't actually set up his drive with AccurateRip in EAC, meaning his logs don't score 100%, so he's at a stalemate until he gets his hands on more mainstream CDs to configure AccurateRip. On behalf of us both, thank you in advance for that!

Probably not the best place to ask this question but... do someone here has experience buying digital music in the japanese site Booth.pm? There is some album I'd like to purchase but I can't because my Paypal is unverified and it asks for a credit account. Is there a way to purchase only-digital versions and paying with unverified Paypal? (I can't get a prepaid card yet either, but I plan to get one someday)

So am I! Sure, it’s missing Indestructible, sure it’s missing the OVA music, sure it’s missing the Arcade Mode tracks from SSF4, but the meat is all I cared about (the stage, character, and menu themes). So it warranted a purchase for me. “!!!!!” though has a “complete” soundtrack if you want to look there on his thread

---------- Post added at 11:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:19 AM ----------

Maybe as a bonus I’ll buy the CD that has Indestructible/The Next Door on it, upload those separately and still include logs but not cue sheets

I'm having a very strange problem with my audio conversion software that I've been using since pretty much joining this forum. It's called xrecode II. Up until now I've been using setup_xrecode2_1.0.0.215_full on all of my machines in conjunction with dbpoweramp. I'd use xrecode II to convert audio that dbpoweramp does not do (such as video files, essentially extracting the audio). Just now I tried doing just that, converting an eac3 file to FLAC, but upon opening it immediately closed. Dbpoweramp does not let me convert the eac3 file at all.

I tried reinstalling it and even installing what seems to be the latest version, setup_xrecode2_1.0.0.229_full, to no avail.

I suspected it had a sort of time-bomb in the code, preventing it from launching after a certain date, so I booted up my laptop (which I rarely ever use anymore) and, lo and behold, it also immediately closes on there too, confirming my suspicion of the time-bomb code.

I'm at a loss for what I can actually do, other than look for another software. If possible, I really would like to continue using xrecode II. Does anyone know what can be done?

EDIT: I seem to have found a solution! I found a program called NirSoft RunAsDate, and it allows me to inject a custom date into a program upon launching it, without having to change my system date, so that I can inject a system date in the past from when xrecode II worked and use it properly. It even lets me create a shortcut that injects the date I specified to the program upon launching the shortcut. So far it seems to work just fine.
The date xrecode II stops working is July 01, 2019. How odd.

Why don't you just use foobar2000 + lame.exe OR Exact Audio Copy like any normal person? Or is this not suitable for your formats?

I'm pretty sure dB poweramp does what foobar does anyway. And I didn't know eac could be used for converting audio. I'm just used to xrecode II.

I've tried two so far but I don't think it's the CD drive. The CD is brand new and inspecting the disc, I don't see any scratches that would cause the track to skip. When I play it in a CD player, it always sounds like the CD is scratched after about 2 minutes into the track. It's odd, never seen this on a brand new CD, sealed.

(LOG/CUE/CUEToolslog - Disc 1 Sample (http://pastie.org/3280617)) Track names - There is no official English track lists as far as I know. I chose one between the translation by Radical Pan<img src=http://s19.postimage.org/f3cithbgf/ex_arrow_2.png> (http://chronofan.com/Black/Publications/CCOST.htm) and VGMdb's based on my knowledge about Chinese character. Not the Chrono Cross re-release, but rather the reorchestration of the two surrounding the concert the other day (and upcoming encore). It doesn't come out until the beginning of September... Either way, awesome! I'll likely pick it up as well, ~$100 shipped, it looks like.

It's a postcard ! No design yet (but I'm hoping it'll be the cover of the third disc, exclusive to the boxed set, it really is pretty).

I'll be picking it up too, so glad to see new Chrono official releases at this day and age.

I might be missing something, but what's the point of a 96 kilohertz soundtrack if it's capped at 32 kilohertz?
It's because it was ripped "untouched" from the Blu-ray Disc as source, nothing more, you can downsample it to 44.1kHz without risk if you want.

My in-forum searches turned up two posts in Video Game Music Downloads Links (One (Thread 201307) & Two (Thread 201308)) have the same MEGA link to a WAV-rip for Majora's Mask 3D: https://mega.nz/#!9BV0nIYD!Wf1q7IjCnsnPZ5AoAMOZngioXoha7M5wAjtSrCI6JMQ

Can't help you for Ocarina of Time 3D I'm afraid (Although I will say there's plenty of topics/posts with living links for the original N64 games' CD releases, with 'Ocarina' & 'Majora' the best search terms to find them).

Just a question out of curiosity. Don't some people know how to remove pictures from quoted texts or why you should do that?

Trypetide
07-17-2019, 05:12 PM
@Chrono
That's just plain text, so just delete the part that isn't necessary/related to what you quote for.
As to "why" do that: it's less of a pain than having to scroll forever for just a bunch of added text (or even missing it).
Also, some people tend to mess up quoting so you got a full quote + their added message in one giant quote,
or they deleted/forgot to put a [/quote] or whatever format formula is needed, letting you see a bunch of text with tags everywhere...

So in short: be proper, don't mess up the quote, and quote efficiently =]
(if you're scared of messing up too much the quote, just put it in a [ spoiler ][ /spoiler ] tag)

CartridgeCulture

Honestly it's always bothered me when people quote walls like this. Nothing personal but it's just a courtesy thing.

Chrono Meridian
07-17-2019, 11:04 PM
I just always wonder why it seems so hard for some people to remove everything between [ img ] [ /img ] and the tags itself.
But I like the suggestion with the spoiler tags.

I didn't do any analysis of it audio-wise, but I can assure my rip is the purest with no alterations or conversions. Sad to see if SE did in fact drop a turd with this. But for those wondering, Mitsuda gave some explanations about the Revivals on his Twitter. SE owns the rights to Trigger, so they were in charge of the audio and other elements of this release - YM was only consulted for the liner notes. For the upcoming Cross Revival, the music rights belongs to Mitsuda himself, and he is in charge of the remastering and packaging as well as coordinating the whole release - so expect more effort from that release compared to a SE routine 'revival' BD dump. That said, I buy it anyway as a way to promote the series.

I did a broad analysis of the whole disc:

Glad you managed to get that one for yourself. Sorry that I still remain due to provide my own.
I certainly didn't forget it, but I've definitely been struggling with the variety of official tracklistings from SEGA's Sonic Channel/Digital Release list, the CD side/back & CD booklet pages as well as only just discovering the 'Team Ultimate' tracks had artists credited in digital releases, but not the CD booklet (Which you caught, but I'll have to see if I can give the VGMDB pages an update if no-one else does so before me).

Safe to say though, you've gone above & beyond the detail I tend to provide (Although I like to make sure as many artist/group details are crammed into those tags as possible, they often serve as an "unofficial digital release" & have me doubting they serve a practical database/archive entry). But I suppose there cannot be enough mirrors for Sonic music (Plus I've rounded up some "goodies"), so I'll still provide my own once I stopped fussing about the details.

Glad you managed to get that one for yourself. Sorry that I still remain due to provide my own.
I certainly didn't forget it, but I've definitely been struggling with the variety of official tracklistings from SEGA's Sonic Channel/Digital Release list, the CD side/back & CD booklet pages as well as only just discovering the 'Team Ultimate' tracks had artists credited in digital releases, but not the CD booklet (I'll have to see if I can give the VGMDB pages an update if no-one else does so before me).

Yeah haha, at long last! What I did was just use Musicbrainz Picard to autotag the tracks and looked over it all. Looked very nice and detailed, but I didn't cross reference it from anywhere so I wouldn't know about those discrepancies you brought up.

I look forward to your upload along with your goodies!

Special thanks to Cameron1391 (http://forums.ffshrine.org/member.php?u=1135837) for the rip! This is his rip, uploaded with his permission: I set up EAC properly on his laptop over Teamviewer and wrote up a guide on how to properly rip CDs, and also did all the tagging. However, this rip would not have been made possible without Cameron1391's copy of the soundtrack and his willingness to help, so please direct any and all thanks to him!

Oh don't worry. I failed to add that your rip has caught those, so the database did catch that. To temper expectations, the "goodies" aren't as extensive as I could gather for Sonic Mania (SEGA certainly was keen to keep the Mania going and official/author material wasn't difficult to come across), but should be sufficient for any unofficial covers or desktop wallpapers, plus Tyson Hesse did provide a little material such as the cast model sheet for Team Sonic Racing: Overdrive.

Had I'd known you were hunting for this, I'd have pointed you to the rip with a 'CueTOOLS.log' Sonikkublur (Thread 225853) provided some time ago (They also even have the whole series (Thread 225277) up if it takes your fancy, but I wouldn't know if the English subtitles are official if not based on official translation). There's more around here including Sonic Drive (Thread 191803), but no logs to speak of.

But as I've myself said, there can't be enough mirrors for Sonic music, and this be a grand one indeed.

Ah, glad to know my tags are good then! Definitely looking forward to your goodies all the same, I love it when OSTs come with extra artwork that's beyond normal scans!

Oh yeah, I've actually downloaded that rip by Sonikkublur before, but it didn't have a 100% log or cue. Now with the rip I posted I've basically provided an upgrade. You could technically consider it a mirror if you don't care about having a 100% log and cue, but, as far as I'm aware, it's the only perfect rip available on the internet.

There is a collection of Sonic X music with apparent logs on here, but they might be 'fabricated' logs. At first glance it seems to check out.

Wow, thank you for bringing this to my attention! Although not perfect rips, the only reason is that they're range rips and the gap handling was not appended to previous track, so they're still very good rips! If I manage to get perfect rips of these I'll be sure to upload them as upgrades.

We should get the Fire Emblem Three Houses on here. They nailed it with the main theme song and I am expecting the rest to be just as great, it might just be the best OST in the series.

Quick update: I tested the logs and the Sonic X Original Sound Tracks log has been modified, meaning it's indeed fabricated. The log is thus useless and this should be considered a bad rip I'm afraid. It's one thing to have a non-perfect log, which isn't even bad, but it's another to have fabricated logs...

This works out perfectly in our case though since my rip can fill in that gap lol

The other 4 logs are unmodified thankfully, and the scans for all the rips are hella high res, so the torrent is still super useful for these reasons!
