Anyone know of any good portable flac players with at least 1TB storage?

I have a 1TB ssd on one irver h120 of mine, those daps are golden even being like 13 years old!
Hifiman, Ibasso, Astell & Kern... they were the ones to look for high end daps last time i took a look but i decided to continue hacking with my rockboxed irivers, can't see the benefit for the price :)

You could... do crazy things like buying an external portable DAC, then connect a harddrive to an android phone and then the DAC to the phone as well... and there you go.

The coolest thing for me would be having a kind of unlimited data plan for a smartphone and use Subsonic/Madsonic/Plex or another to directly stream from my home library.

@Vegeta: Creating playlists and juggling multiple microSD cards probably is something more feasible right now. You can have a card for a specific type of music. For example, videogame related, anime related, metal etc. Each with its corresponding card.
If your smartphone doesn't have an microSD or if its DAC sucks, then I suggest the Sony NWZ-A series. Personally I'm using an NWZ-A15.

That depends on HOW you listen to music.
I tend to be spontaneous, I never know what I'm going to want to listen to ahead of time, So unless I have it all with me, I end up not having something I want to listen to at the time i decide to listen to it

I've used this kind. It works well and fits in your pocket. I don't know if it's player supports flac though. probably, but I can check to make sure If you want.

So I was looking between the choices of the FiiO X5 or the X7 .. X7 not being out yet.. and price tag of like $650 seems a bit eh.. but I can't really find much specs on the X7, and looking at pictures of it, I only seen 1 microSD card slot. Maybe when the X7 releases the price for the X5 will drop. I also seen there are 2 different X5's ? .. 1st and 2nd Gen, although not sure if there is much difference between the 2.

That would be wonderful. You can FXP the files over if you want to. You should be able to ftp to ftp without even using your home connection. I use FlashFXP to transfer from server to server.

I did try it (with full version of FlashFXP), still wasn't able to make it work, either from your FTP to my Gravitrek FTP or to my Seebox FTP (external to gravitrek).

Ok so I did try again but without any luck, I did asked about the FXP to the official support team of my Seedbox, and they said that the FXP is activated and fully working.

But still unable to make FTP to FTP transfer, is it maybe because I'm in a read-only account ?

Because my music collection is an imense and complex mix of lossy and lossless of many types, which means if files are omitted I may not always know. This way if there is a problem I can notice and fix it, rather then simply being unaware.
Also I like being in control and aware of my music collection

Zaykho will be in charge of distribution from anything that was on my FTP. All files have been transferred over. Around 1.3TB of data.



Just need to figure out a way to compile some type of list to make it easier to request things.

Edit: Well that was easy.

If you want anything please look at the list http://pastebin.com/4NtDwgbK and then PM zaykho with the name of the item you want, and they can zip it up and upload it.

Second: The folders will be available directly by HTTP (like any website), the FTP is not set yet, and I'm talking with the Tech support to make a "read-only" session available for anyone. (like it was with the Vegeta one)

Third: For the moment, the access to the folder will be the same as it was, that mean that every subscribers to Vegeta will receive the new (login/password and link) to the new server. For others that are not subscribers to Vegeta but they still want an access to the download site, just PM me.

For convenience, at the 31 December (Gravitrek update) a registration page will be made, like this, everything will be automated.


PS: To let me setup and test things, the Download site will be available in 2 Days. ( Still you can access to the old FTP until January 6 2016 )

You can put them on there and if the audio has the picture embedded in it them you will see the picture while playing music. As I recall the player doesn't just read pictures it will have it in there but you wont be able to see the picture itself.

Im not really asking about what it plays. Im asking how it lists the contents of folders. Basically I want to know that it lists everything in the folder, playable or not, so that I know whats in any given folder.

Does this mean Gravitrek will be reopened after the New Year?

It lists compatible file types, but won't play irregular sample rates i.e. 37800 hz (ps1 xa) or 32006 hz (some native n64 sequence samples). anything from a cd should be fine

Well, recently I discovered t usage of .cue files to putting all the tracks at once in the media player (foobar in this case) with all the gaps and things (yeah, call me newbie), and I've started to using it on a couple albums that I've downloaded. Well, today I've downloaded an album, and put the .cue file on the foobar. It gave me the following error:

"Unable to open item for playback (Error parsing cuesheet: invalid index list (line 49)):
"I:\Downloads\NEO GEO GUYS SONG COLLECTION [PCCB-00386]\NEO GEO GUYS SONG COLLECTION.cue""

When I opened the .cue file to read it, it was all fussy and strange, like you can see below.


Looking to the previous log file, I tried to edit the lines of this cue sheet, and received the same error. So far, so good. The problem is that, when I checked my personal rips and tried to play them from the cue sheet, EVERY ONE OF THEM gave me the same or another kind of error, and I can't understand why!
I've always used Vegeta's ripping guide and I'm fucking sure that every one of them is properly ripped, but any of the cue sheets works. I've already tried to rip some albums again, and receive the same error on the cue sheets.

Please, could someone help me with this? I've searched all over the place, made log checksums, tried to edit the cue sheets, read many kinds of forums, and still couldn't fix this :'(

That's because the file was created as a Unix text file and you are displaying it on Windows, they do threat line endings differently. If you tryanother more capable viewr/editor (like even wordpad) you'll be able to read it properly and also rewrite it the way you want it to be.

Since there is probably less than 40 hours remaining, I'll give this opportunity for anyone on here to snatch what they want from the FTP. However according to the email I got said the server will expire on 2016/01/06 08:37 GMT. Anyway, anyone is welcome to grab what they want. The server will however cease to exist after that time.

My problem isn't this specific cue, but all the cues from my personal rips, that are giving me all kinds of errors. They are my biggest problem, because it seems that I'm not ripping them right. If I figure out what's wrong with them, I'll probably figure out this one too. I uploaded some cues and logs from my personal rips, and the errors foobar give me to each one of them. Also uploaded one that works, so you guys can compare. Also, it's good to point out that I just edited the tags of my personal rips. I didn't chaged the names or titles after I ripped them, and they are all ripped in FLAC.

Also, I just discovered new things. By testing the working cue, I found out that the filename is the only thing that matters for the cue. I mean, if you change any tag, the cue will still play the file normally.
And I found the solution for the error "Unable to open item for playback (Object not found)". It seems that EAC always output the cue sheet to read WAV files, so when you rip, it will search ".wav" files. It's a problem for us, FLAC rippers, because the cue will never work. You can use CUE Tools and the option "Correct filenames" choosing the FLAC extension. It'll fix all the filenames in the cue sheet, and they will play normally. Didn't found the solution for the "Error parsing cuesheet" error, though, and it's the most frequent.

I downloaded a soundtrack 2 or 1 year ago from this site, i believing it was also this thread here. But somehow i fucked up somehow the sound of all the tracks in the album with foobar. So i wanted to redownload it, but can�t remember the Name of the soundtrack. What i remember it was from a Racing Game from the early 2000 or something. Non-compliant CUEs came later, and inevitably are handled differently by different applications (both foobar and CueTools should be happy with WAV=FLAC, but it's been a while since I got into the nuts and bolts of this mess).

In my opinion, .CUE files today should be used purely for metadata, i.e. for archiving information taken directly from and about the disc like track parameters and relevant CD-TEXT data. If you want a playlist for music, use a modern playlist format.

I grabbed this during the freeleech and as if by fate decided to listen to it out of the large assimilation of other CDs. I am still listening to it. It. Is. Amazing. The Stickerbrush Symphony arrangement is the best I've ever heard. Yes, better than Protricity's Brambles in the Breeze*. Everything else is icing on the cake.

*This may be in part due to the lossless nature of this album, and my love for drums.

I'm not sure what you mean by platform. It's just 8bit chiptune covers of popular j-pop music.
If had to name a platform, maybe the Famicom? This is not "pure chiptune" made to play on the actual hardware, more like the hardware was used as an instrument.

Well, this is going to sound awkward, but this forum used to have some restrictions about the maximum allowed size+filesize, for signature pics; sadly, the only thread mentioning those restrictions that I can find (at the moment), is this one: The "Please Make Me an Avatar/Sig" thread (Thread 24163).


A quick reminder: The limits on signatures are that they can't be any bigger than 400x150 pixels, and the file size must be no larger than 50kb. If you have multiple sig pics, they have to be under those specifications when combined.

I want you to know I didn't purposely resize it to be that big, I think it's bigger than it needs to be also. I'm going to see about lowering the size and resolution, it was a little confusing in the first place so, sorry. I don't mean to disrespect anyone.

Okay, well, I've now come to the conclusion that my signature will show up bigger or smaller on different computers and monitors, so I can't control that. I'll still make it smaller, it just doesn't show up as big on my monitor.

Partially wrong. Even when you've disabled signatures through the control panel, you can still view them by visiting someone's profile and subsequently click the About Me tab.
