I believe the files have already been ripped, it's just a matter of the .lopus files being tagged lol. The game's been leaked well before it released, too, so people already created tools for extracting the audio and video.

Yep, the game soundtrack has been already ripped, sadly as you said, the files are lopus 67kbps, it's not worth converting the files to flac.

Yeah, I think the best we can do is to source the files from other soundtracks where available to make a fan-made compilation in FLAC quality. Except the new, original tracks to the game would have to be sourced from an official soundtrack, whenever that releases, and chances are we'll still be missing quite a few tracks in true lossless quality.

I just hope the .lopus files are offered in that thread along with FLAC/MP3, as I don't like converting lossy formats to other formats.
Btw, I heard the bitrates are actually 96kbps, if you tinker around with the files?

Weren’t the Smash Wii U files 16/48 lossless? I imagine there’s a HUGE amount of overlap between that and Smash Ultimate… best case scenario might be narrowing down the small amount of new audio tracks and specifically converting those to FLAC, however lossy they may be. Then keep them as a separate album that can be listened to in addition with the tracks from Smash 4 that I’m guessing most of us already have , or mixed into playlists, etc..

If you want to preserve the original game data and listen to it as such then you’re in luck, the files are probably already out there and there won’t be much more you have to do than just obtain the gamerip. As with most fan-made gamerips though I assume most would want to decode/convert to something a little less obscure :)

Ah, I see. I use .opus for my phone already so I figured .lopus would be very similar haha.

IIRC it's a modified version of the opus codec. Or maybe just a custom container that allow things like 8 stereo tracks in a file. Not sure though.
EDIT: yep it's just slightly modified opus, someone can maybe make a program to losslessly convert them to opus tracks.

I don't get it... Aren't the files 67kbps LOPUS files? Why converting everything to FLAC and making 23GB out of 1.17GB worth of files? Even the MP3 conversion makes the native files rip 7 times heavier. I don't understand it.

Because lopus can't have tags I guess. What's even worse is he embedded the artwork to each song, which is 1 MB each. So that makes each version 1 GB bigger still. Though they're actually functional, showing which tracks are remixes and which character they represent within the same series.

The owner of the original Nyaa site essentially stopped running it, so it shut down a little while back. Those torrents can still be found on nyaa-si and similar sites. You'll just have to search for them instead by torrent or uploader name.

So, i have to make a big request.
Do someone still have anything of the "Kessen" (1,2 & 3) and also some "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" Soundtracks?
All i found so far are Gamerips that are down anyway. Is there not a Soundtrack in Flac someone could share?
What i already have is the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms Ultimate Sound CD" in FLAC which is on this site by the way.

Seondly i have another question.
I have some old music tracks in a compilation that i somehow stupidly throw into a single folder back then. The end result was that i have a single folder with over 300 tracks and no ID3 Tags.
I found some tracks in that which are really good. All i know about them is the Filename itself, and i know that they have to be from some Japanese/Chinese Game like these "Kessen" or "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" i mentioned before.
It could be also from the "Nobunaga's Ambition" Soundtrack. I already have the "Nobunaga's Ambition 30th Anniversary CD-Box" and looked into it. But it seems the tracks from that Folder comes from something other then the CD-Box.
Can somebody help me out here? From which album do they belong? Google so far did not helped me there very much.

Ryu ga Gotoku Kiwami 2/Yakuza Kiwami 2 doesn't yet have an official soundtrack release, nor does Hokuto ga Gotoku/Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise for that matter. The Limited Edition CD for Ryu ga Gotoku Kiwami 2 has all it's gotten, at least up until this point (Which I unfortunately don't have, and TheEryk24 (https://www.youtube.com/user/TheEryk24) & Neucom (https://www.youtube.com/user/543resident4/featured) being ideal sources of in-game recordings). I'm dearly hoping that can still change.

At least SEGA was very enthusiastic to give Judge Eyes: Shinigami no Yuigon (To be known as Judgment when released in North America & Europe) a prompt & substantial release, which I'm still trying to find an ideal means to purchase & import a copy for myself.

I think it’s decent, but I have had it freeze up and skip a file on restart. If you want to download a bunch of Mega files or a folder through Mega, I recommend Jdownloader instead. MegaSync also seems to be limited to one download at a time, so it is slower.

My Megasync downloads 5 files at a time. Sometimes I can download 50 GB+ in one piece, but other times I have to wait 5 or 6 hours after hitting 5 GB downloaded.

I might be the only one downloading these through my phone but I feel it is the most efficient way to do so. The app is much better than I expected and the desktop program was having issues in managing my account. It is good for copying everything at once, though.

That site is a valuable resource for all the lossy rips this forum no longer has. It has many rips not even on GameMP3s. As for gamerips, that will be hit or miss depending on who uploaded it. Jdownloader can download all files on a page there to bypass the single download at a time restriction as well.

There is absolutely no point in offering .WAV, especially when you're already providing .FLAC. Don't bother offering .WAV.

There are other threads on the shrine that do this so I don't see a problem with it.

It's a waste of space and time unless the files are something flac can't handle, like 32 bit.

As well, you (c4dude3) just said that you can't afford to, so don't bother. It's unnecessary. :)

It wasn't really an issue of sharing his links without permission. The entire catalogue of links was Google searchable. In my view, if you 'pirate' something it should freely made available to encourage sales. Sharing in private is almost like a conforming to the contraband view of piracy, which can't be justified without deferring to the government's unjust enforcement of 'intellectual property law' - which is to say, a non-thing. There really isn't much grounds to say that any theft has taken place if a product is shared in a purely symbolic format, for archival purposes - unless you are a tyrant.

I actually do have COLORS by Utada Hikaru. Unfortunately, it doesn't include the short edit of the PLANITb remix that plays during the opening movies of Kingdom Hearts, Re:Chain of Memories and Birth by Sleep. It's roughly 2:31 long according to the various soundtrack listings. That one is extremely difficult to find, and it's exactly what I'm looking for.

Ah, damn. That means I need to find a ~20GB remux of the movie and then extract the audio and cut out the ending to its own track. I'll post a download link to the FLAC if I do that, might take a while though.

I guess the same has to be done for the Japanese dub as well since that uses a different song which is also absent from the OST. What a sloppy OST release lol

I have the 5.1 channel audio file and the center, left and right channels all have traces of characters' voices (especially the center obviously lol) and the surround channels only have ambience, so there wasn't much I could do about isolating the music. I've set the let and right channels as left and right and kept the center and LFE as mono. So, this track is still stereo like any other song. I'm afraid this is the best I can offer, if someone else thinks they can do better I implore you to give it a shot with a remux/raw version of the movie!

I went ahead and added a 5.1 Channel Surround Sound version of this as I found it to have much better bass on my computer's 7.1 sound setup.

We’re given no alternative method of purchase and the format wasn’t even disclosed to anyone who pre-ordered. That’s really not ok. And if we don’t voice our discontent when we have a problem with something, we shouldn’t expect there to ever be a positive change for future releases. I get the sense that the soundtrack’s inclusion in the US CE was a complete afterthought.

Well yeah, it's a Bonus, but for being tied a 200 Dollar Collectors Box they could have provided lossless imho.

The European Collector's Box has a CD actually, but that one costs 230 Pounds or 300 Dollars.

You’re absolutely right Leon. I came here for discussion about this because I really don’t know anywhere else that discusses VGM/OSTs. I see this place as a lot more than just an illegal download forum. First and foremost, we’re collectors and enthusiasts, and I think Capcom is at least somewhat aware of discussions that take place on forums like this. If there’s a lot of disappointment, it’s kind of hard for them to ignore.

But I will definitely make my concerns known to Capcom more directly, and tell them that I did not go for the collector’s edition because the format of the download was not clearly stated, and apparently my concerns about the format were justified. I will inquire about some other method of obtaining a lossless copy of the soundtrack, though I don’t have hopes that will be fruitful… you never know. I think they should either offer a CD like the EU and keep it simple, or offer a choice of download format if not just offer it losslessly, so that users can transcode to the format of their choice if they wish.

I know I’d personally be much more enticed to pay for these things if it was clearly stated what you were getting. Otherwise it’s like gambling with $200 to me. This gamble would not have ended up in my favor.

And if anyone else is disappointed that your purchase came with a MP3, or that the US was only offered a lossy compressed download when the EU received a proper CD, I encourage you to do the same.

Also i think the OST is pretty weak, nothing like the iconic Sound of the Original.

They fucking butchered "Secure Place" probably the most iconic and beloved Piece of Music in the entire Series.

Most of that money is for the action figure and the Item Box packaging, now that I think about it, it has been known for months that one of the C.E. came with a digital soundtrack, had plenty of time to prepare for a potential disappointment (50% chance buyers would get screwed over by its audio format, after all). Heh, still, better than the one with the Typewriter replica, that thing is the exact same thing they've been selling "standalone" — for less, should I add on the CAPCOM Store (minus the R.P.D. engravings, or whatever they're called).
The soundtrack swap thing is a feature exclusive to the Deluxe edition of the game, right? Heh. I wouldn't dare put original's music in this piece of trash (I played the One-shot demo and I didn't like what I experienced, I knew the new camera angle would screw things up a lot and the demo confirmed it).
