I can play them on foobar, the kbps are allways 440.
If I convert the files to flac, the files have much more kbps and it needs more savespace.
So, make it _really_ sense to convert nus3bank to flac?

I looked into crediar's WWHD rip. It's super incomplete unfortunately. Which sucks because windwaker was my favorite. I would kill for a complete windwaker hd soundtrack, or even just the means to make one myself really

Wind Waker originally used a tracker format with samples played to a midi-like sequence of notes. Wind Waker HD must still use that kind of system, thus the rip you see is incomplete. The midi-files are more dynamic (enemy variations, underwater versions...) than the streams. So the Streams must come from certain minor parts of the game that could just stream audio without problem with the gameworld.

For Wind Waker HD, you are better off with the original soundtrack in flac, somewhere on this forum.

Also for your question, the format you want depends on what kind of pros and cons you want. Nus3bank doesn't run easily and natively on most devices. As far as I know, only vgmstream in foobar or droidsound (with vgmstream plugin) on mobile can read it. But those files at the source inherently lossy in Wii U games, as they were on gamecube, wii etc. In their state they do not have as much documentation or well rounded tag support if any.

The reason people transcode from this lossy source to flac is that then flac becomes a lossless copy of the lossy source, and it is an open format usable on many platforms, and it supports full tagging as well being smaller than a .wav (lossless without compression). Normally on this forum of audiophiles, we would prefer a well made CD release than a gamerip, but sadly so many games do not have well made and complete CD releases like Twilight Princess for example.

So this transcode to flac is a viable solution for usability. It is the absolute best quality available, the master standard of sorts with no modification to source files etc. That's what I've come to understand around here.

And for a complete soundtrack of Wind Waker HD from Wii U we'll need a way to cut sfx and keep the game playing on the console or wait until emulators can do it for us. Fortunately the Wii U has HDMI output so sound is digital and virtually no loss and noise through analog cables. Someday we'll see a proper rip like PrimeBlue's Twilight Princess rip from the Gamecube, as it uses the same tracker format as the Wind Waker (On the same engine). Patience will be worth it I guess. :(

I have once made a Hyrule Warriors gamerip to flac with crediar's rip so I could tell you how to do it, but it is a painstakingly long process and you need to know what you are doing, it's not a one-click process, you'll need to master channels to make stereo tracks and mix channels so that it makes sense. Otherwise all is treated as mono and all channels play at the same time and it becomes pure noise.

I finally got my hands on these thanks to the Clannad kickstarter I backed way back when.

The Mabinogi Arranged album has english titles because they were given official translations by Sekai Project.

The booklet was even translated into english.

I don't have a scanner however, so they aren't currently included.

The Clannad OST was left in japanese because that wasn't translated.

As far as I know the music was untouched in the game.

The same goes for the music discs.

The only differences from the original that I'm aware of are the English translation obviously and higher resolution art for the characters.

I posted a little Hoot rip of Romancia earlier, but this other one needed more work.

This is a port of the 1986 Falcom title 'Romancia,' also known as Dragon Slayer Jr.
The port was done by Unbalance in 1999, and they added in new 'arranged' MIDIs which are
what this rip is of. I included the 'original' MIDIs in the MIDI directory.

Essentially, my process was: ripping the MIDIs from the game .exe, then the MIDIs were run through REAPER with the official Roland Sound Canvas VA VSTi that emulates their hardware, along with some tweaking:

This particular 'remake' of Xanadu Scenario II never got any sort of CD or physical release, so I ripped it for posterity.

So you mean to tell me both are actually ripped from CD? I thought they were WEB rips of some sourt since.. there's no indication of it being a CD rip, it's just the tracklist and done. However, it sounds good. I'll stay with that until someone kindly offers to share personal rip with EAC, cue, log and scans, mostly scans honestly.

You need a client, never used a windows one on ages but https://www.apexdc.net/ should do fine, think of direct connect as a IRC client with file sharing capabilities.

It's rare to see a VGM collection that's as vast, comprehensive and well-organised as Blackheart's, so you're missing out if you don't want to wrap your head around DC. It's really not that complex.

I've been using almost DC exclusivelly after the napster era and never found anything betterl. The social/irc aspect wast what made it that useful. Even today there are plenty of 1000+ user generic hubs and the good old dedicated stuff ones are still there.

Apparently, the new management of MEGA has set a download bandwidth limit to free users. According to the message I got when I "exceeded my quota" within the past 6 hours, this limit depends on their bandwidth available at the time. Still, i need to wait 4 hours to reset my quota for my IP. They ask 5 euros a month for a lite account but apparently you do need a 10 euro-a-month Pro account to get rid of the bandwidth quota.
However, it's letting me download another file at full speed even though with others it's still telling me I have to wait 3 hours. Either it's a server error or they applying the quota to the accounts and not the downloaders. I hope they fix this.

There once was an old PC game series called Relics by Bothtec. They had Falcom develop the last entry in the series, called 'RINNE'.
Falcom released it on the same day as Oath in Felghana so it was basically put out there to die. Also, this game plays nothing like any other Falcom title.


The Relics games for Win9x play like a mix of games like Sacred (or Darkstone), Brandish VT, and Fallout (plus other isometric Japanese Windows CRPGs, mainly Lunatic Dawn III/IV). Story choices are the top priority, but there's some good action and character builds available. Lots of Giger-esque world design and ambiguity involved, so it ends up a mix of esoteric Western and Eastern game influences.

RINNE is one of the strangest episodes in the company's history ever, mainly because they adopted Bothtec's hard work right as they were killed because they released a Legend of the Galactic Heroes wargame before re-licensing that IP. The Falcom cameos have a bit of justification because the story premise involves an AI simulation of the events of the first Relics game on Windows, meaning things can go differently depending on your choices.

Dunno, I don't have it. I'm more into playing the PS1 original, no matter how low-res it is, it feels better to me. But the video I've seen, it sounds pretty much the same to me.

I've the PS1 Version and the PS1 Soundtrack (not physical) too, I'm just very interested, 'cause FFIX is my #1 Favorite Game and Soundtrack :)

I acquired a Redump of Ys IV: Dawn of Ys for PC Engine/Turbografx 16 as well as a .vgm rip of the synth tracks that play internally (aka the non-CD audio) and converted that. This means that all the CD-DA audio (the Redbook tracks) the ADPCM clips (the voice work) and internal music, which was all in Japanese and was the original, was in my possession. I used the specialized software TurboRip, which was specifically written for extracting WAVs from this exact game, on the redump bin.

However, with this particular rip I went the extra mile - there was an in-depth fandub project that was done for Ys IV, which I decided to include along with the original Japanese. I ran the various bits of software written for the fandub project on the CDDA and ADPCM audio, meaning that I also included the English versions in their own dedicated folders.

Essentially, all of the voice work in both languages and all of the music appears in this rip, something which you wouldn't get if you simply ripped the audio from the game disc via EAC - you'd only get the Redbook CD-DA music that way.

I can only speak for Dragon's Dogma and Dark Arisen and it's pretty complete. The only things that are missing are the infamous "Into the Free" track and the Japanese equivalent of tracks such as Coils of Light. (If anyone has that please share)

Restart your browser and delete any .part files, if it still doesn't work wait a little while then try again. This happened to me a couple times before.

I just had to reset my password as well. I can't imagine someone brute-forced my random 20 character password, so it must be something wrong with the forum.

The forum recently had a Database Error. Pretty much every user found him/herself logged out of the account(s) and subsequently unable to log in (despite inputting the correct password). You probably won't find that anywhere, not even the company has posted them on SoundCloud. Although that would be a lot of tracks for that.. probably a good 1000-2000 tracks.
